Modular approach to building a home doesn't work in all climates, but in stunningly beautiful Queensland it's a fantastic approach! That deck is the best I've seen in a long time, and that includes the one I recently built myself. I halfway expected Mieke to have a Dutch accent 😊. Great home, great tour. Thanks!

Another finalist for the Top Ten of 2022. Clean, functional, and fun. Lots of indoor/outdoor space, kitchen prep, and a deck that would compete with with a 2k sq m house in a luxury development. A truly charming family with a charming home to match.

Love the location and couldn’t help but notice the similarities between this tiny home and the one you filmed in NZ with the lady who designed and built her place. Would be interested to know if you ever revisit any of these owners a year or two later to see if they’re still as passionate about tiny living.
My biggest question is how do people afford all this? 32 acres, animals, multiple tiny homes, and a child? How do you afford all that without a significant amount of capital to start off?

Mortgage, it’s that simple, they probably started with a deposit by saving, so start saving and don’t get credit at all, they would get a income from the Airbnb and then working added together would pay the mortgage. Some banks are fine with loaning on tiny homes and land also.
All these people are wrong. Everything about this says old money or inherited land. Every building is custom built. They probably generate some money from the Airbnb but that’s not how this was payed for.
Of all the tiny homes you’ve featured, in my mind, this is the one that checks all the boxes for me. The location and feel are ideal and the way they’ve utilized extra space is very practical and well done. Kudos to you two!
Apart from their beautiful tiny home, I can't help but notice how they look at their partner whenever one of them is speaking. It shows how much they value each other's thoughts and opinions. It's refreshing to watch.
I don't often complement tiny home designs because I feel the sacrifices are too great. However, I have to admit this one is so good I could actually see myself living there and being satisfied. I'd use the detached bonus room as my tv/media room and probably would have made it a tad larger. For me, the kitchen layout and interior stairs/walkway are what makes this floorplan work. You have safe, easy to traverse stairs and although you give up some width downstairs, I think it's a good trade off.
I am continually amazed by the lifestyle choices and beautiful tiny homes and havens and landscapes that people are creating. This is just lovely with that huge outdoor living space!

Growing up I was shipped around like luggage between my parents who were divorced. Whenever my mother got a new man I was in a plane to my grandparents so for me I was so desperate to have the 'ideal home' for my children. What they're doing is truly the Dream.

What does it cost for the whole estates should be included. And how does a young couple afford all this- what do they do for a living to earn the land and life style?
That’s what I’m thinking also since got also my worst experience with snakes at our former house in reedy creek…spring time is the scariest … there’s a resident snakes in there that every spring the come out green and brown snakes and it likes a week they come out every day … I even injured myself when they surprisingly come out from trees and rocks…

This couple has nailed the outdoor space. Like many I can no longer tolerate hours in the sun. This outdoor space for reading, snoozing and dining is perfect. It sits on the land well, not taking away from the space but definitely solid and sits well. Love the bartender window and the pull down sheltering on the deck. They made great choices for the outdoor furniture. Looks so easy to take care of and comfortable.
I find it rather saddening that the carpenter who built this tiny isn't mentioned once.. The craftsmanship that went into this build deserves recognition. (Land Carpentry and Constructions) for anyone who's wondering who the real talent behind this build is.
Yes. I thought the same. Reminds me of a builder/designer he interviewed once. I believe her name was Shaye. That’s almost identical to her home, the exception being the door and the modular unit were the “ future proofing”. It would take nothing away from the beauty of their aesthetic choices to reference the builder and designer.

This is really pretty! Everything is carefully planned out and the different elements fit so well. I agree about the white walls, to me it makes the wood colors /elements pop out. Easily one of my favorite tiny homes so far. Definitely saving this for when I need references in the future.
The addition of the little 4x3 is a good idea - especially if you had space to add another if you needed. Spare room/bike storage /office etc one of the more convincing designs I’ve seen 👍

Everytime I think I've seen my favorite, another comes along and sweeps me away! This home is HOME! It's so cozy and what a wonderful place to raise a little one! I love all of the special touches like the archways and the concrete sink, the bathroom, and let's not forget that wonderful outdoor bathtub! Sweet perfection in my eyes!

Absolutely gorgeous tiny house with that huge verandah out the front 😍 I really love the kitchen bench space and having both bedroom's accessible by the one staircase...the only thing I would do is "snake proof" under the house (lol I was watching Snake Wranglers earlier and the size of those QLD python's was terrifying)...not to mention the more aggressive snakes that we have in Australia (I don't think I'll watch that show again 🤷♀️🤦♀️)...thankyou Bryce and Rasa for sharing another beautiful tiny house xo 💜

Many tinies are intended to move at some point. And I’ve actually seen just as many with large decks, roofed and often equal to the house size.

The house is great, it's the poisonous snakes that lurk around it that scare me....😟😟😟
That’s what I’m thinking also since got also my worst experience with snakes at our former house in reedy creek…spring time is the scariest … there’s a resident snakes in there that every spring the come out green and brown snakes and it likes a week they come out every day … I even injured myself when they surprisingly come out from trees and rocks…
Great video!!! I could have watched a much longer video about this family! I am left with so many questions! I want to know all about their Airbnb. I want to know what they work at. I want to see inside all of the outbuildings. I want to hear how they plan on managing with a baby, since it sounds like they might have one in the not too distant future!

Gorgeous! LOVE the aesthetic! Lofts seem a bit tight for my liking - Bryce, you looked like you were peaking through a window! I’m a big fan of the stairs and walkway design and that deck is amazing!
This couple has nailed the outdoor space. Like many I can no longer tolerate hours in the sun. This outdoor space for reading, snoozing and dining is perfect.
It sits on the land well, not taking away from the space but definitely solid and sits well.
Love the bartender window and the pull down sheltering on the deck. They made great choices for the outdoor furniture. Looks so easy to take care of and comfortable.

I find it rather saddening that the carpenter who built this tiny isn't mentioned once.. The craftsmanship that went into this build deserves recognition. (Land Carpentry and Constructions) for anyone who's wondering who the real talent behind this build is.

Reminds me of a builder/designer he interviewed once. I believe her name was Shaye. That’s almost identical to her home, the exception being the door and the modular unit were the “ future proofing”.
It would take nothing away from the beauty of their aesthetic choices to reference the builder and designer.

I always imagined building a huge platform, and plunking a great little mobile home on it. This reminds me of that idea. Nice to have all that surrounding property, with room to run, and have the animals around. Lovely property.

This is really pretty! Everything is carefully planned out and the different elements fit so well. I agree about the white walls, to me it makes the wood colors /elements pop out. Easily one of my favorite tiny homes so far. Definitely saving this for when I need references in the future.

The addition of the little 4x3 is a good idea - especially if you had space to add another if you needed. Spare room/bike storage /office etc one of the more convincing designs I’ve seen 👍

Everytime I think I've seen my favorite, another comes along and sweeps me away! This home is HOME! It's so cozy and what a wonderful place to raise a little one! I love all of the special touches like the archways and the concrete sink, the bathroom, and let's not forget that wonderful outdoor bathtub! Sweet perfection in my eyes!

Absolutely gorgeous tiny house with that huge verandah out the front 😍 I really love the kitchen bench space and having both bedroom's accessible by the one staircase...the only thing I would do is "snake proof" under the house (lol I was watching Snake Wranglers earlier and the size of those QLD python's was terrifying)...not to mention the more aggressive snakes that we have in Australia (I don't think I'll watch that show again 🤷♀️🤦♀️)...thankyou Bryce and Rasa for sharing another beautiful tiny house xo 💜
