All over the world, we have met many people who have lost homes in natural disasters and almost without exception the one thing they all tell us is that the unfortunate event forced them to really consider what's truly important and to focus their attention towards those things. Same here. When dad passed away mom didn’t care for anything they owned so everything was given away. They didn’t want me to go there but since have realized their mistake. I’m highly emotional and they didn’t want to deal with a breakdown. Then mom passed away 5yrs later and she didn’t have a lot. She didn’t care anymore. Then last year my hubby passed away suddenly and I’m going through things that I have and I’m going to be selling a lot of it because I don’t want my sons left to deal with all my collections and so forth. Like the saying goes, Once you’ve died, you can’t take it with you. It’s life, but we have to think of who has to go through our belongings and how hard it is on them. I love my kids too much to do that to them.
It is a matter of taste, but to me this home is stunning! You have the most wonderful taste in decor, it's so beautiful. What a wonderful person you are, Vicki, and even though it's always sad to hear about hardships people go through... look where it ultimately landed you, mostly due to your own courage and perserverance. I wish you all the serenity and happiness you deserve! Greetings from the Netherlands :)
This is the most beautiful and practical tiny home I've seen. It emits such calm and peacefulness. The kitchen is bigger than that found in some apartments these days, and the amount of well-planned storage she has is amazing. This place does not have that tiny home claustrophobia that some do. Her decor adds to the whole peaceful environment. I could happily live in this home.
The family that owns the land are wonderful for opening their place to others to live on, just love hearing that. I love the color of ur home Vikki, rarely see white/cream color outside exterior. Love the porch, the curtains bring a tranquility to her home. Beautiful, blessings and love…thanks Bryce and Rasa for sharing❤️❤️
I'm positive they don't let people live on their property free of charge. I have enjoyed watching these videos for some years now and am sad that here in the US we are held back from building houses like this by zoning and building code laws. I have shaken my head continually over the urge of my contemporaries (I am 71) to build ever larger and larger houses. WHY? I always ask them this and am greeted with confusion and incredulity. There is a style of building called Earthships designed by Michael Reynolds that has been around since the 1970s that I have always yearned for but like most unconventional building techniques has fought for legal parity. Living a life less impactful (wasteful) has always appealed to me and I am glad to see that some people are doing it successfully. Thank you.
I am early 60s & my brother is 5 yrs older. He is in process of building a 5,000 sq ft mansion in Virginia. Sounds nuts to me. But he's lived in a small weirdly-laid-out house for decades that was all he could afford in the 80s, so it's hard to fault him for wanting his dream house. Mine would be closer to a tiny than a mansion.
I know that Vicki is a kiwi living in Australia. But the building codes in New Zealand are not prescriptive - they're based on performance (fit to live, suffisent light, sanitation etc etc) and have to fit into the context of its respective town/city - which again has region specific requirements. Once you get your head around that, it makes sense, and you can get creative
As a fellow American I believe the resistance against Off Grid living is tied to avarice and corruption more than safety issues. Off Griders are not feeding the power company and tax coffers like traditional home dwellers.
I love these Earthship homes. Curved to face the sun, entry via a sunny productive atrium greenhouse, creative stained-glass bottle walls in the bathroom, all topped by a wildflower meadow roof. What's not to like?
How wonderful! Recently with the hurricane on the Atlantic coast here in the US, we've seen so many people lose their homes and all of their possessions. Some even lost their lives... It's so moving to see what profound changes this kind of loss caused in Vicki and how resiliently she has responded. It sounds like her life now is far more peaceful, satisfying and grounded as the result. Her home is stunning, and it truly is a sanctuary. I would say not so much "the opposite of chaos" as the "epitome of serenity!"
I think this is such a beautiful home - and I really love the color scheme! It's nice to see a person land so well after going through such a difficult situation.
This is such a beautiful tiny home. The layout and nature accents really make the home peaceful. It is amazing that Vicki has been able to experience such a terrible chaos and loss and to turn that into such peace and comfort. To also be part of a sustainable , permaculture community is an additional asset. This type of property and lifestyle should be the prototype for the regenerative communities. Just beautiful nature and so peaceful. Well done !
Indeed. I'm so jealous because her house is my dream house. My current house theme is also nature with mint paint for the inside and light green for outside. She inspires me how to decorate my house better. I also like her bohemian decor.
It’s strange, but even though Bryce shows homes that are similar and follows a consistent pattern, I still feel the need for the positivity and community he shares. Bryce, keep it up. The world needs your stories now more than ever. Maybe instead of constant one-upmanship and the next big thing we all just need the same love we needed yesterday, and the day before that…
Her home is perfection. The view out of her kitchen, the wallpaper, copper details, wood accents, small object she loves - incredibly tasteful and I just can’t imagine more beautiful execution. Well done lady, you have the most impeccable taste and lovely outlook on life. Blessing ❤️
Wow, Vicki’s home really grew on me with every next image! I applaud her simplification and acknowledgment of the need for greater calm after the trauma of the Christchurch quake. (In California’s fires, I see so many of us suffering without a cultural acknowledgment of the heightened trauma taking its toll.) Feels like we all benefit from being kinder to ourselves, as Vicki’s chosen to be. I have a Tiny “tech question” for her: Does having all clothing storage in the bathroom require more powerful fans or moisture evac to keep things in good condition? (I love her concept & wonder this every time I see someone who’s done it.) Open to hear from anyone who’s chosen that route. Meantime, many gratifying tiny years & wishes to you, Vicki!!
I live only a couple of hours away from Vicki so I know we have high humidity here. I wondered about mould too. LOVE the colours in the kitchen. The copper was an inspired choice. An inspiration for us all 🙏
This is my new favorite home. Calmness..tranquility that's what I've felt after the show. When it's time for us to have a new home..Vicky's home will be the model. I fell in love with the paintings on her wall of plants. So peaceful. Thumbs up to you Vicky..Bryce and Raisa.
Vicki's home is absolutely beautiful! Wonder use of space. Her experience with losing her possessions from the earthquake has given her an outlook that shows up in her tiny home! Thanks Bryce and Rasa for presenting Vicki's story to us! Love the kitchen and like how it is a distance from the bathroom and sleeping area!
What a stunning home. I just love the wood and the accent colours in the kitchen. So happy she found her perfect home in such a beautiful environment. ❤️
I'm in a home with 3.100 sf full of things. Although a tiny home would not work for my size family, the idea of smaller and less does sound appealing. The property you found to lease is what makes your setup so special.
What an inspiring woman! Vicky, you're an example, showing us how to move on after a huge loss. Bryce, thank you for introducing us all these fabulous persons! Can't wait to watch the next video!
I can't even imagine what it must be like to lose a home in an earthquake, but she has come through it with a gorgeous Tiny home in an amazing setting. Well done! I love that this family has opened up their property to this little community too!
Thank you again, Bryce and Rasa, for another wonderful video. Is there any chance of you making a documentary about the community here? It would be interesting to hear from the property owner about his motivations for opening up his land to others, how the community functions, etc. I could imagine you treating their story with your trademark compassion and enthusiasm.
This home is beautiful and I love that the owner has processed how they now handle stress and how the home she has created brings her some peace. I also appreciate that the rented piece of land is a decent size, that the owner has not jammed people together for greed. Respect to them too.
This reminds of living in an efficiency apartment. You can appreciate having a home that is a simple way to enjoy living in nature. Massive homes with lots of rooms don’t make sense in the long run since you can only be in any part at any given time. This home gives you the sense of enjoyment of having the complete experience anywhere you look. Beautifully designed home❤❤❤
Nature give us life not the huge house. Because nature has a life, has beauty, has energy, has peace. The huge house is just a building, no life to interact...
Every time I see one of your featured tinies I think "That's it! That's the one for me!" and then in a week there's another one -- each more beautiful than the last, like the 12 Dancing Princesses. I love them! Thank you for yet another demonstration of how to live simply with the essentials. "Enchanting" says it all.
Absolutely breathtaking and what a lovely person! Thank you Vicki for sharing your lovely tiny house and best wishes to you going forward in your new endeavors! God bless!
I really love this home and what she has done with it. The sofa is gorgeous along with all her colors she chose. The aqua with copper is stunning. I wouldn't change a thing. The views are amazing. This home makes me smile. I'm so glad she has found a new way of life after all she has been through. 🌴

I think this is such a beautiful home - and I really love the color scheme! It's nice to see a person land so well after going through such a difficult situation.
Hello Janet. How are you doing. Hope you don't mind us bring friends okay
Often our greatest gifts lie next to our deepest wounds.
This tiny and the opposite of chaos vibe that has been created is truly wonderful.
Absolutely beautiful home! So happy for you Vicki, it’s certainly well deserved…❤
Totally stunning home. Out of the ashes rises the phoenix! And how lovely to land in a nice community with permaculture right outside your own home!
the whole area is absolutely heavenly, genuinely looks like a place from my dreams
@@frisacruise3983 I agree I love the Bohemian decor also - very homey and relaxing.
Thanks so much ☺
Her sense of artistry is absolutely aesthetic and the space saving ideas are truly brilliant!
It’s strange, but even though Bryce shows homes that are similar and follows a consistent pattern, I still feel the need for the positivity and community he shares. Bryce, keep it up. The world needs your stories now more than ever. Maybe instead of constant one-upmanship and the next big thing we all just need the same love we needed yesterday, and the day before that…
Hope you are fine Cory
Hi
Her home is perfection. The view out of her kitchen, the wallpaper, copper details, wood accents, small object she loves - incredibly tasteful and I just can’t imagine more beautiful execution. Well done lady, you have the most impeccable taste and lovely outlook on life. Blessing ❤️
ABSOLUTELY...
Wow, Vicki’s home really grew on me with every next image! I applaud her simplification and acknowledgment of the need for greater calm after the trauma of the Christchurch quake. (In California’s fires, I see so many of us suffering without a cultural acknowledgment of the heightened trauma taking its toll.)
Feels like we all benefit from being kinder to ourselves, as Vicki’s chosen to be.
I have a Tiny “tech question” for her: Does having all clothing storage in the bathroom require more powerful fans or moisture evac to keep things in good condition? (I love her concept & wonder this every time I see someone who’s done it.)
Open to hear from anyone who’s chosen that route.
Meantime, many gratifying tiny years & wishes to you, Vicki!!
Yes I was concerned about damp/mould.
I live only a couple of hours away from Vicki so I know we have high humidity here. I wondered about mould too.
LOVE the colours in the kitchen.
The copper was an inspired choice.
An inspiration for us all 🙏
Thanks so much ☺
You can see it in her face how peaceful it is to live in this house!Perfect!🌿
She didn’t settle, she did what was best for her! You can tell how happy she is with her decision! Her tone speaks volumes.
Vicky keeps saying she is lucky...gurl you are not only lucky, you are BLESSED ❤
Wow, what beautiful interior design! Even her water container looks beautiful. A true sanctuary.
This is my new favorite home. Calmness..tranquility that's what I've felt after the show. When it's time for us to have a new home..Vicky's home will be the model. I fell in love with the paintings on her wall of plants. So peaceful.
Thumbs up to you Vicky..Bryce and Raisa.
its so homely i felt like i was invading on her privacy watching this tour. bless her!
Honestly, i watch Tiny homes on you tube for 7 years, it this is the most beautiful "Sanctuary" one i've ever seen! I'm in love❤❤❤❤🎉
Vicky's sanctuary home is overwhelmingly beautiful. I am so happy for her that she can now live and heal in this awesome place.
Every bit of her home is absolutely beautiful.
She went and Conquered!!!
Much respect Vicky…
Wonderfully Calming🌿
Hi how are you?
I'm in a home with 3.100 sf full of things. Although a tiny home would not work for my size family, the idea of smaller and less does sound appealing. The property you found to lease is what makes your setup so special.
Hello Candy
How are you doing today?
What an inspiring woman! Vicky, you're an example, showing us how to move on after a huge loss. Bryce, thank you for introducing us all these fabulous persons! Can't wait to watch the next video!
I can't even imagine what it must be like to lose a home in an earthquake, but she has come through it with a gorgeous Tiny home in an amazing setting. Well done! I love that this family has opened up their property to this little community too!
Thanks so much ☺ I feel very lucky to be here too.
This is an awesome idea. I would love to learn this story 😍
I’d love to hear more about that as well! 😃
Same here. ❤
Thanks so much ☺ I'll see what I can do 😉
*GOD BLESS THE OWNER OF THIS PROPERTY. THE WORLD NEEDS MORE PEOPLE WITH HIS VISION AND COMMITMENT !!!*
. - A SAN FRANCISCO NATIVE
What an amazing spot. The tiny house is awesome and all but what's even better is finding that amazing community and land to put it in
Shes such a generous women❣️
Such an inspiration
This home is beautiful and I love that the owner has processed how they now handle stress and how the home she has created brings her some peace. I also appreciate that the rented piece of land is a decent size, that the owner has not jammed people together for greed. Respect to them too.
❤🙏
@@Regenerativegrowing I knew it had to be you guys as soon as Vicki started talking about the property 😊👌🏼
Love it !!! Being connected to nature is the new normal for more and more awakened people. Thank You for sharing your lovely tiny house.
Hello Mirka
gosh, imagine living around all that nature. she made this so cosy
Vicki thank you for sharing your wonderful haven. Such a dream😳🤌🏿
Just stunningly done! Could absolutely live here!❤️
Every time I see one of your featured tinies I think "That's it! That's the one for me!" and then in a week there's another one -- each more beautiful than the last, like the 12 Dancing Princesses. I love them! Thank you for yet another demonstration of how to live simply with the essentials. "Enchanting" says it all.
👍👍👍A lot of people don’t realize how much an outdoor space adds to your living space.
This Lady is literally educated me and I haven't lost anything (yet) but how she passionately got up and GO. THANKS FOR THE KNOWLEDGE
Absolutely breathtaking and what a lovely person! Thank you Vicki for sharing your lovely tiny house and best wishes to you going forward in your new endeavors! God bless!
Hello Dyanna, how are you doing, how is your day going so far, hope you don't mind us bring friends okay
I really love this home and what she has done with it. The sofa is gorgeous along with all her colors she chose. The aqua with copper is stunning. I wouldn't change a thing. The views are amazing. This home makes me smile. I'm so glad she has found a new way of life after all she has been through. 🌴
Hi Sharon, How are you doing. Hope you don't mind us to bring friends okay
So beautiful! I love everything about this home. Perfect in every way. The colour scheme is so pretty. A huge high 5 to this a amazing lady who has come back thriving after such an awful disaster. ♥️♥️♥️
So heartwarming. It is good to know that you can count on someone to help you and that there are people that really helped.
What a beautiful home 💚 And I appreciate Vicki being honest about the challenges the journey can bring of creating tiny house living, and how she noticed that stress reduction is really important now. Thanks for sharing your story and lovely home! 🙏🏻
Beautifully decorated.. love those rainforest vibes inside as well as outside the tinyhouse.. And all the copperware is so unique and beautiful too! Such a cozy place to live in💚💚💚
I love how you’ve made even your water dispenser beautiful… the macrame is a great idea! Your home is warm and welcoming, just lovely.

I share my appreciation for the owners mentioned at the start, they are helping people and helping the environment. Wish good things for everyone in this community.
I love this location. It's so beautiful. It really enhances her tiny home.
I love in every area of her home she has different kind of BLUES. Beautifully designed. 😍 ❤ I can see myself living in this kind of tiny house. Perfect closet size too
Bryce this was fantastic! What she has done here is really exceptional. I’m sorry that she had to go through such a horrible event to get to this place, however she is in paradise now. Her touches and design are just incredible. I love the pendants And that wallpaper is to die for. That one window just is like having a framed print up there. And the outside two is gorgeous. Everywhere you go is calming. I love the build for only 24 feet it was really amazing. Thank you for the tour of your home. Cheers from California USA💜🤟🏻🇺🇸😎
Hello Liz
Wow, wow wow!!!!! What an absolutely stunning home. I’m so glad this amazing lady has found her little bit of paradise after loosing so much. Best wishes ❤️🏴❤️
What a gem, the wallpaper is the perfect backdrop to the colors of the kitchen, the copper and that amazingly calm, pale green...she has built a perfect sanctuary for calm, it is everywhere in this dream home...what an amazing setting with like minds as well, permaculture rules...best of luck in your new life...!

Absolutely amazing story and tiny house! I think this is one of my favourite tiny houses ever. Vicki has done an incredible job and she deserves all of the joy this place brings her.
Hello Bryce and Rasa! Boy, Vickie has a great looking place! I love her porch! I am so sorry she lost everything in an earthquake! But she has really made a great home for herself in spite of everything! Thanks for showing this to us! God bless.
Hello Sharon, How are you doing. Hope you don't mind us to bring friends okay

Hi Diana how are you?
Shes amazing ,doing this simple but a nice sanctuary.❤❤❤❤
It's a beautiful home. It doesn't look cramped, and has a calming vibe. I love it!
Beautiful home and gorgeous parking spot. This lovely woman may have lost one home, but now she has a new one that is more in alignment with her true values and desired lifestyle. I can't wait to have my own tiny home one day. Thank you Bryce and Rasa for another great video.
