We’re back with our first new episode of 2023 and it’s a great one! Benj and Holly have created the most wonderful small house for themselves. There’s a lot of great design and a tremendous amount of heart in this home. We hope you enjoy the tour. Thanks for watching and supporting out channel! Remember to hit notifications so you don’t miss any of our new episodes this year! With love, Bryce & Rasa
This is an awe-inspiring video for just starting out in 2023! I look forward to discovering even more magnificent spaces and beutiful stories ...cheers!!
I'm happy to see this one. I enjoy the tiny houses on wheels, but my goal would be to have a small house that is stationary. I think it's great to feature all these different projects.
Not having the mobility downsides - ie: specific max dimensions - let's you build something that is not necessarily much larger, but that gives a far greater sense of having room to breathe.

Is that a realistic amount for a small house in Australia? Because $200,000 AUD ($132,560 USD) is crazy expensive for a small house in many parts of the U.S. If I could afford to pay that much, I wouldn't need to shop around for an "affordable" tiny house; I could buy a very nice regular house for less than $130,000 USD.

Yes totally agree, here in Denmark a guy was building a Tiny house but it ran up to $ 400.000 with all the government restrictions. The prices confuse me also. Some give up full sized home to downgrade to a tiny home and pay just as much or more than their full sized home. I can't see selling my full sized home and taking all of the profit to put in a tiny home. Where is the win in that?
@wyntersteele1a I have seen many videos on many different houses. One young guy managed to build a cool tiny house for $ 8000. Another couple made a luxury house on wheels for $ 150.000. Like this video it was his family who owned the land. I guess if you are young, can buy a cheap trailer and start build DIY over 6 - 12 month in your own speed and budget, you could have a very cheap home in the end. After watching 100s of videos it seems to me it always comes down to the question of land and land ownership plus location. I saw a single girl who had made a fantastic tiny house in California, but her land was far away from anything and anyone, she seemed quite sad that so few camed to visit her.
@Bertone 262C agree I would live in a warmer climate and you can build cheap and easy. I myself could live in a coconut leaf hut 🛖 on a beach somewhere, can't cost much or take long 😁
I just realised something. After watching all the videos that you guys have made I realised that I love the houses more because of your appreciative energy, Bryce. Your energy transcends the digital medium. I feel happy watching your videos and listening to you interact with the owners. Keep it up, Bryce & Rasa. Your work puts a smile on millions of faces. May it grow to reach billions. Have a great year ahead. Love your work and love you both. 😘🥰
This is my fav episode so far. Small houses appear to be more practical and realistic to suit our needs. My hubby rejects the idea of 'can't stand in the bedroom' in those tiny houses. I will show him this small house idea. Great work!!!
What a dream to own a place like this one day. Gone are the days of myself wanting bigger and more things. The size of this place is perfect, and its so intuitively designed. I absolutely love it.
Utterly gorgeous home. Benj is a very talented self taught artisan and the attention to detail is amazing. So many unique and clever ideas, like the bedside "table" gives this home a wonderful aesthetic and appeal. Setting is sublime, gardens are beautiful. Congratulations Benj and Holly. Dad and Grandad would be so very proud of the finished build. 🌈
Such a pretty home. It's lovely and warm, the landscape is amazing too. Well done to the owners and thanks to Bryce. I live vicariously through this channel.
Now this is my idea of a functional tiny home. The full height loft makes ALL the difference. I'm not a fan of the half height lofts you typically find in tiny homes, it's just not practical from a comfort standpoint, in my opinion. This slightly larger take on the tiny home concept make a lot of sense to me. I'd go even a bit larger and add a guest bedroom, but this is so well thought out and nicely styled. Well done guys!
Such a beautiful and thoughtful home. I'm so sorry that they have both suffered the losses of their Dads but it's lovely that they have each other and a beautiful place to live.
I'm in love with this home! The exposed brick, the warm wood, and gorgeous concrete. What's more, I'm so impressed with the fact that they learned to do the work together as they went along. What a great adventure!!!
Meeeeee tooooooooooo im LITERALLLLLYYYYY obsessed with THISSSSSSS home! Absolutely Perfect! And that man for doing pottery , learning so many “ trades” toto Complete his beautiful home! Is sooooooo inspiring ❤❤❤❤❤
Respect to this couple for acknowledging the tribal guardians of the land they reside upon, ngaa mihinunui korua ❤ Really enjoyed seeing this home as it feels more liveable in terms of space (eg bedroom height) and usage but still holds a ‘stepping lightly on earth’ footprint. Thanks for sharing.
E tautoko ana ahau i tenei - I support your comment on this Jude. it is a beautiful home built with love and respect by the owners, for their own ancestors as well as those who were the traditional keepers of the land - the Djab Waarrung. Thank you Bryce and Rasa for including their acknowledgment in this video. Tino pai my friends 💜
I’m impressed with the washer outside, and the almost off grid, but the bricks 🧱 confused me with their heat radiation at night. Then I thought about how they are fire retardant and reused, epic!
Thanks! It's been a crazy start to the year with all the storms and flooding in Auckland, but we're back into the swing of things and looking forward to the new year!
I've seen nearly every tiny home in your videos, but nothing has encompassed the aesthetic and vision for my own house more than this. Not tiny, but the not big either. I'll have to have you over when I finish 5 years from now... 10 if I'm lazy!
This home is STUNNING. I am simply in awe of what they have accomplished for that amount of $. And it really does look like a warm safe healing space. Their story of this house being there through tough loss made me tear up.
Merci pour cette vidéo avec, une nouvelle fois, une tiny house originale. Celle-ci n'a pas de roues mais un grand volume vertical et de beaux matériaux! Il doit faire bon y vivre... Encore plein de belles découvertes pour 2023!
More like this pretty please so many clever uses of the space and I love seeing that you don't have to totally shrink down on everything to live in a smaller space
OMG. That photo of them on the mezzanine looking out with Benj's dad.... Made me cry! I'm so so sorry for their losses. But what an absolutely magnificent little home they have. One of my absolute favourites of all of your videos, Bryce. Amazing!!! ♥♥
I’m so fascinated by the tiny house movement and follow the well known tiny house channels. But it’s always painted in a positive light and almost everyone has construction experience, access to resources (materials and labor) and most importantly, land!!! I love that she gave a realistic look at the real cost and real obstacles for those of us without any advantages. Thank you for featuring this on your channel
I am blown away by the charm and cozy feel of this home, so organic yet functional, artistic and whimsical and what a lovely couple, they know what they want and achieved it quite beautifully...the native gardens, perfect...WELL DONE...!
The house is amazing but aside from the build their home emits a beautiful and clear indication of their creativity and individuality; all together creating an immense sense of peace and tranquility, right down to their choice of flower vessels and the placement of the books scattered throughout the space. I love those circular sconces. 😍
This was a nice change from tiny homes on wheels - so many of those just seem to focus on how the designer or builder managed to fit all the furniture and cabinetry inside the "box". Perhaps you could make "Small Homes" a regular segment on your channel?
What exquisite use of reclaimed materials and how elegant it is. I love seeing small homes and am so glad that you featured this one. Really appreciate that Holly and Benj acknowledged the native land that there home is built on.
WOW!! Bryce & Rasa, an incredible home with a delightful couple. I love how so much used is repurposed. The delightful bookshelves and books are a wonderful touch. (I am an avid reader) I got tears when Holly mentioned how it was a healing space for her and Benj. Shouldn't our home always be like that? Thank you so much for sharing this as the first for 2023.
Indeed, our homes should be healing places...my own apartment is one for me....but I know that sometimes, one is also grateful to just get a room off the streets for a while. I was homeless for 8 1/2 months ten years ago, not because I couldn't afford a place, but because of the underhanded thing a landlord did to me, kicking me out of his rental place and nearly ruining my reputation while doing it. I was very thankful to get a room in a boarding house just as winter started; stayed there for four long years before finally moving 800 miles away, and now having a sweet little apartment that is exactly what I need, and what I looked for for nearly ten years before finding it, far from my home state and city.
They seem to be a loving couple with an amazing vision. They love life despite the heartache of losing special loved ones. Their home is spectacular!! I would love to do what they have done. Such serenity. No city fuss. Simplicity at its best. Awesome job!!
I'd be so thrilled to live there! I wouldn't change a thing, such a welcoming space inside & like a piece of artwork outside with the landscaping. I hope they will have many happy years there.
I love watching couples build their dream tiny house together, it means so much effort, commitment and communication to build a home both of them are satisfied with. I think it makes them appreciate each other better, and that makes me so happy. Every couple ive seen in this channel has a lovely dynamic.
Welcome back Bryce and Rasa. This a beautiful home the landscape is beautiful, the stones the view and Rasa’s Ariel view is beautiful. I love how the couple everything organized in one place for easy access👏🏽👏🏽❤️ Holly and Benj did a great job with fam and friends creating a lovely home. Thanks Bryce and Rasa for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
This is DEFINTELY one of my favorites. This shows how even the outside area can be just as important as the interior when creating your home. You can see how much time and thought went into every detail of it. They are so consistent with their purposeful small footprint and repurposing of materials in everything. Every episode that shows different sizes and shapes of homes can really inspire people to try to have/create a home similar to these and make it their own.
I'm speechless over this one... You have pulled together and pulled off a most stunning and stylish home... The recycled wood was wowsome... Gave this home so much character... I loved its salvage history... As to the views...!!! Capitalising on them with that glass was essential. Thank you, Benj and Holly, for sharing your beautiful home with us...
Beautiful. They can stand upright upstairs. That’s a rare find. I love it. I wouldn’t want to crawl on my knees in my older years. More tiny homes should be built this way. Thanks for sharing. 😁💕
I especially love the videos when the family story is shared as well. Homes have a unique ability to remind us of times we had with our loved ones, whether in them or while building them.
Absolutely stunning. It seemed much larger than the dimensions indicated. It gave me an old hunting lodge kind of feel. Bathroom tiles and sink were works of art. Fabulously creative design that ticks all the boxes.
Was very blessed to get a small 2 bedroom house in my city. I look forward to applying tiny home principles to make the home feel even bigger for my growing family. Thanks for all the great content and inspiration!
I was waiting for you guys to post something and I knew that you'd come up with something different like always 🙌🏻 This is such an unusual yet prefect and beautiful small size house. I just love the beautiful garden and landscape outside and, the interiors and 2 storey design! Such clever little spaces for closet and books👏🏻 It is almost a normal house minus unnecessary rooms😁😁
Thank you Benj and Holly for sharing your beautiful home with us. I love the really tiny houses, but they don't work for everyone, so it's great that this channel showcases some bigger tinies too as it proves that you don't have to either build on a trailer OR live in a huge house - there are some in between possibilities.
ive been watching for a while but i just wanted to say i love the host, he always has this contagious enthusiasm and genuine comments and questions :) even if its all rehearsed it always shows great respect to the homeowner
I adore watching and re-watching all of your spaces on this channel; tiny houses, earth ships, containers, converted school buses, insulated trucks… But I have to say, this is my absolute favorite. The style of their building, their Ingenious ideas, and decor, their gardens, and lovingly, their relationship.
I love your development throughout your channel from basic tiny houses to small homes by cleverly interlinking the best of both worlds... And I love the respectful note towards the indigenous country at the end of the video ❣️ That is a wonderful thought put to action. ❤️
The materials and use of the materials is stellar. Again, another amazing small home to live in. If only all people could be surrounded by beauty on a daily basis.
This is such an amazingly beautiful house! Every corner so lovingly considered. I am blown away by the quality of the workmanship. I would gladly move in tomorrow!
Happy New Year! Love your channel. It's so inspiring to see all these amazing tiny homes. It'd be great to see something a little different... perhaps a video of some sort for those who don't live in a tiny home but ideas to implement the tiny home mentality into their homes. Whether it be smaller dish washers, only two stove tops, or whatever the case may be. Anyway, keep up the great work because I'm sure it's making a big impact.
Hey Paul! Thanks! We're definitely looking into ways that we can expand the scope of the channel in the future so we can branch out to a wider scope. That's a great idea.
So happy to see that you are back . I love to see that this young couple took it “up”. I love the the coziness, it’s definitely something I would love in . Great video ❤❤
I get your point, but did you know that Amazon carries such things as small/drawer-type dishwashers, among their many selections, as well as two-burner stove tops, countertop ovens that can be mounted under cabinets---pretty much whatever is needed. Also, just going into any good search engine will bring up tons of results for nearly anything one could want. Many countries are producing some wonderfully innovative things for small houses.
@@jb6712 Thank! But it'd still be great to see it in one episode/video along with ideas or innovations that aren't easily purchasable or ideas that maybe no one ever even thought of.
The amount of work and thought that Benj and Holly put into this, was amazing! I watched on Instagram as they did it and was blown away and inspired 🥰🥰🥰
Such a magical couple!!! You can tell it was built on family love~ What a stunning attention to detail, the bathroom tiling is so nice, the garden is enchanting! So happy seeing the space in the railing & Potter nook! Sending waves from Vermont!
Such an incredible beautiful magical house, a genuine treasure of a home with love poured into it throughout ❤️ I rather loved the metal plate designs on the front and I can see that fabulous pull out bed shelf appearing in other small and tiny homes down the line 😊 The bathroom tiles around the door frame are gorgeous and an unusual way of doing that 😍 But your memorial at the end was so touching too ❤️❤️
Bravo first tiny home in Australia that has recognised the indigenous land owners and have paid respect to them here. I have to say truly the best "tiny" tall home I've seen in a long while. This is a beautiful couple who have done a fantastic job with their home. I have to say as usual Bryce and Rasa showcased this home in such a way we could appreciate and enjoy this couple's home. 🙏🏾👌🏾🙂 😊
I noticed the recognition of those who came before as well - both family and the communities of peoples who lived in that place in the past - the Djab Wurrung. Given that so much of the Tiny House movement reflects purposeful living, reflecting respect for the land and for the future of the planet, it only makes sense to acknowledge all the societies who did this throughout history.
That bricks texture in house foundation brings a very warm look like an ASMR every single time I stare at it. The rest of design also looks stunning. This is a very unique architecture so far.
One of my favourites. Being stationary, the added width is really lovely. I wonder how the kitchen corner space was fully utilised.? Exquisite wood and alcoves.Only a comfy seating missing. What a labour of love.
Stunning. Thoughtful. Unique. Love the warmth of the timber and the aged feeling of the brick. All the cozy nooks for hanging things and storing books. Wonderful ideas.

I can watch these LBTH vids for the sheer pleasure of seeing a host who is both gracious and inspiring in his handling of people.
Very smart choice of flooring, don't have to worry about grout.❤
Omg they are living my dreamlife (only kids missing for my part). So cosy yet robust and practical :D
The bricks make the interior colorful and warm at the same time. Using recycled materials is ingenious. Lovely, so lively.
Finally you guys are back! Thank goodness you both are safe and together
Thanks! It's been a crazy start to the year with all the storms and flooding in Auckland, but we're back into the swing of things and looking forward to the new year!

It's a huge plus to be able to stand up on the upper level, unlike so many tiny homes.
Such a beautiful couple and their beautiful "tiny" Home. Wishing them both many years of happiness ❤
Amazing!!! ♥♥
One of my favorite designs so far. So colorful and natural. Really nice balance of warmth and stimulating space without creating noisy visuals
That tiny house is absolutely amazing. Just WOW!!!!
Great contrast with the brick and wood. Very nice with the accent lights.
That is one gorgeous home. I love the innovation and that bathroom is so beautiful as well as the kitchen. The home has so much character to it.
An absolute dream house. You really don't need anything more.
I think this is THE most beautiful place. Every little detail looks so personal and filled with life. What an achievement!
I followed this build from the early days of it and it was lovely to see these guys hand craft every element themselves ❤
I was waiting for you guys to post something and I knew that you'd come up with something different like always 🙌🏻
This is such an unusual yet prefect and beautiful small size house. I just love the beautiful garden and landscape outside and, the interiors and 2 storey design! Such clever little spaces for closet and books👏🏻
It is almost a normal house minus unnecessary rooms😁😁
Such a beautiful tiny house with the best homeowner. I would love to have a tiny house like this with endless view of the skies.
What a darling little cottage! The landscaping is wonderful... Love all the natural light, inside...
Great couple, they radiate warmth and a beautiful house
Thank you Benj and Holly for sharing your beautiful home with us. I love the really tiny houses, but they don't work for everyone, so it's great that this channel showcases some bigger tinies too as it proves that you don't have to either build on a trailer OR live in a huge house - there are some in between possibilities.
ive been watching for a while but i just wanted to say i love the host, he always has this contagious enthusiasm and genuine comments and questions :) even if its all rehearsed it always shows great respect to the homeowner
absolutely beautiful, in every way! (The home, the layout, the repurposed materials, the view, the couple, the sentiment and emotion... everything!)
Gorgeous home with very nice finishes. Love the landscaping and their service wall. It has become my favorite home I’ve seen on this channel.
This property is absolutely beautiful.
What a lovely home! Such creativity & beautifully decorated. Very charming!
Beautiful…I love the landscaping!! One of my faves!
The amount of work and thought that Benj and Holly put into this, was amazing! I watched on Instagram as they did it and was blown away and inspired 🥰🥰🥰
Now this is beautiful unique house and the outside omg a dream come true love it loveeeeeee it
Such a magical couple!!! You can tell it was built on family love~
What a stunning attention to detail, the bathroom tiling is so nice,
the garden is enchanting!
So happy seeing the space in the railing & Potter nook!
Sending waves from Vermont!
いつも素敵な家を紹介してくださり、ありがとうございます!楽しく見ています。
Thank you so much!
You’re back!! Yay!! This was a beautiful home! I really like the smaller footprint - going up, they were able to create such a spacious place!
Yet another sparkling jewel of a home, warmed by surrounding natural beauty & filled with the love & respect for & of family & friends. 💗💓❤
Such an incredible beautiful magical house, a genuine treasure of a home with love poured into it throughout ❤️ I rather loved the metal plate designs on the front and I can see that fabulous pull out bed shelf appearing in other small and tiny homes down the line 😊 The bathroom tiles around the door frame are gorgeous and an unusual way of doing that 😍 But your memorial at the end was so touching too ❤️❤️
These are nice muggles. Built a lovely and practically smart little home.
I *love* these small home episodes. More please! My partner and I want a small home, and we've gotten great ideas from this channel already!
Every detail is something special!
Great setup.👌 One could be completely comfortable there. No noise. Vast open scenery and sky. 💫
😊
I noticed the recognition of those who came before as well - both family and the communities of peoples who lived in that place in the past - the Djab Wurrung. Given that so much of the Tiny House movement reflects purposeful living, reflecting respect for the land and for the future of the planet, it only makes sense to acknowledge all the societies who did this throughout history.
Thank goodness you're back!
Thanks Jen! Great to be back at it!
That bricks texture in house foundation brings a very warm look like an ASMR every single time I stare at it. The rest of design also looks stunning. This is a very unique architecture so far.
Welcome back! Missed your videos!
Thanks Dyanna! Nice to be back!
I'm so sorry for the loss of both of your dads. Phenomenal build! One of the best tiny houses I've ever seen! Love the landscaping, too. Tfs.
A beautiful home !! Happy 2023 !
One of my favourites. Being stationary, the added width is really lovely. I wonder how the kitchen corner space was fully utilised.? Exquisite wood and alcoves.Only a comfy seating missing. What a labour of love.
Love hearing people's stories and learning about their efforts in creating these awesome dwellings! Thank you, Bryce / Rasa! Salud!
Stunning. Thoughtful. Unique. Love the warmth of the timber and the aged feeling of the brick. All the cozy nooks for hanging things and storing books. Wonderful ideas.
Absolutely beautiful and inspiring, thank you for sharing!💙
Loved tiny houses on wheels but love tiny upsized houses even more. This is such a well made gorgeous home.. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful! Everything is so creative and and work so well with the personality of both of them❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolument magnifique, vous êtes très créatifs et très doués, on sent que cette petite maison a été faite avec beaucoup d'Amour et c'est une grande réussite. Merci Bryce de nous dénicher des trésors comme celle-ci. A bientôt Christine
Great episode to kick off the year! Can't wait to continue journeying with you guys to a lot of amazing small/tiny homes this year.
I am hungry to see more 'small' homes rather than more tiny ones on wheels. This one is incredible and I love it so much. And this couple too.
I have been looking for a great small home tour and this is just perfect!
Omg ,,,,,scenery....view is awesome...I must say the most beautiful scenic beauty that I've come across in many years
Phenomenal house, love the landscaping
