The dude IS and has always been a weasel. ""I'm sorry for writing this...but it's true", "I wish I hadn't put it in my book...but it's true" "but it's true", "but it's true". That's no apology, just more "look at me". The dude spent his WHOLE post-Halen life trashing Eddie every chance he got....while saying he was open to a reunion 2 seconds later.
Ed is just a commodity to Sammy. For his book and now concert tour. Sammy can't get any media coverage unless he's talking about the Van Halen brothers. Think about it. You can't find a quote, comment or video clip of Sammy talking about himself. It's always about him talking about Alex or Ed. It's disgraceful.
