Keith Urban wrote a fitting tribute. Such a kind and insightful guy, himself. Keith, if you happen to see this, I think Eddie would have been touched and happy that his Influence helped you become the gifted player you are.
I’m 63 years old, grew up 70s 80s, I always said Van Halen was one of the best bands and by far Eddie Van Halen was one of the best guitar players ever, we all meet our fate someday, he left a legacy, and his music will live forever
As a guitarist this hit me hard . I remember when dimebag Darrel died and eddie donated one of his original frakenstrats to be burried with him . They were both complete heroes of mine and both taken way before their time. Eddie is the sole reason why I ever picked up a guitar and I was blessed to have seen van halen in concert on 2 occasions. He was my guitar hero hands down. It seems crazy to me that more people aren't talking about this, he was the greatest guitarist to ever live . There would be no dimebag or Steve vai if it wasn't for EVH . RIP TO THE GOAT

Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads were THE guitar gods of my youth. While there are many talented shredders on today's scene... we will never see the likes of innovators like them ever again.

He was my youth. Eddie's music is timeless. An incredible talent is gone too soon.
