What blows me away is that Hoveck, Ellen's father didn't
" weeze the juice " by playing the guitar...
Instead he gave the honor to Ellen. 😊 You rock dad! 😎
Hovak has this parenting thing DOWN! Such a great dad! A role model for us all!
Her dad, not father, is smart enough to se his actual legacy, standing in front of him! I do not mean to diminish his musical ability in the smallest way! But he understands she has an amazing future, and will probably have an award winning band, should she ever fo one! Praying Tactical Prayer Support over you. I say sweet young thing only because almost every woman qualifies as that to me at my age! I am totally wheelchair dependent and never had 1% talent at literally (not figuratively) anything compared to her! My prayers are because there is responsibility associated with this. Thankfully she has a Dad who has her 6! You do whT you do. And I believe the creator/god has your 6, starting with a Dad who gets it! Amazingly wonderful! Rock, or jazz/funk on! Will follow your amazing progress for the years I have left Praying for your success all the way as often as the Ruach HaQodesh brings her to mind (which is more often than each video I see.
Her dad knows it was a fake.
@@PaulArtmanyou realize you are calling a minor a sweet young thing right?
because she's the star of the show lol
Greetings from Scotland! Already you are famous enough to be recognised in public AND be allowed to handle such an iconic guitar - THAT shows how much respect you get, and a huge level of trust! WOW!! Young lady, you have a star filled future ahead of you!
Man, this young lady is going to have a life filled with the coolest moments any person can hope for
Awesome!
3:23 --- That couple walking in the background had no idea they were in the presence of musical greatness (and Eddie's guitar was pretty cool too).
In Cali they probably thought someone was selling a stolen guitar out of the trunk to some clueless tourists!
The next gen just is all about rap noise they dont no what real music is or what a guitar is all about
@@karts-fish-Rc Music has always been an IQ test. Simple rhythms, same chant over and over again, this is for the low IQ, , then you have country and Jazz for those not the sharpest tack, good rock for higher, classical/epic/viking symphonic music/music made for movies, these are for the upper IQs.
@@mutteringmale absolutely not! music is for your heart. it is a language instinctual to humanity. maybe you don't know, but babies are born knowing the intervals the same way hippos are born knowing how to swim. the earliest record we have of someone using the blues scale is 2nd century bc, in china. music was never an IQ test. it may seem that way because something so foundational to humanity can be so vast in it's possibility. however, it is one of the earliest tools man has ever used. even animals like music.
@@cheezyridr Music paths and connections get wired in your brain, just like math, motor skils etc.
You got less pathways, you are dumb. You gots lots, you're smart. It's basic science and no matter how much finger painting IQ you have, you don't like Classical music, but you do like Rap.
Yes, all men and animals like music, but what kind? Maybe whales can argue with me about his, except I'd lose because their brains are bigger and the pathways for vocalization are much more complex than ours!
I was in tears. EllenPlaysEVH ...Fan Forever...
Me too
To actually hold a guitar that was played by EVH, how cool was that.
All bow down slavering to Royalty, and do obeisance.
It's a COPY, it was made after Eddie died, he never played it.
@@rickherrell9451 ok then, to hold a guitar that closely associated with EVH is pretty damn cool also
I really thought that he was going to give it to her.😢
I mean, THAT would be the thing to do.
Pity it's fake.
This is sooo cool! I bet if Eddie was still alive and you would have asked him, he would've gladly come over to jam with Ellen for sure. He was such a kind hearted man.
Wow! You are such an awesome guy Mike. Ellen you are SO lucky to happen to meet this man and handle Eddie Van Halen's guitar. You live a blessed life. May it continue to be so for many many years to come.
More than meeting this EVH guitar, Ellen is blessed to have a talented and caring musician-father as a *mentor* who got her involved early in music.
@@kenhoward3512 Agreed.
Now THAT'S what dreams are made of 🎸
Wow, thank-you Mike in SanDieago for recognizing
Hovak and Ellen and springing this epic surprise to show them.
When you opened the guitar case up Ellen, the trunk of the car lit up in a white light and the guitar Angles sang. When you took it out of the case and making sure with all your might not to drop it. I'm not gonna lie, a tear almost sprouted out from my eye's. And when Mike helped you with the strap over your shoulders and your legs were trembling with the awesomeness of what's going on at that very moment, guess what happened next? Out came the massive " Grins " from you and in the background all I could feel was Hovak just dreaming of how much he wanted to grab that guitar and play " Jump" right then and there. Gotta agree with one of the comments, after touching that guitar Ellen no more showers for you. That was Awesome and thanks for sharing this.
👍💓☮️🇨🇦🎸🦫
This is so cool! Thanks for taking the time to do this Mike. I know you enjoyed it as much as ELLEN and HOVAK. And Kudos to HOVAK and ELLEN for being open enough to interact with fans like this. ELLEN and YOYOKA have no idea how blessed their lives are getting to do things like this. Meeting Rock Legends, and having fans like this, that want to share their experiences with two young, awesome musicians. They have both worked so hard, and deserve the kind of attention they get from fans and legends. I know how much they appreciate it, although by now, I think they believe this is just how life for everyone is. IT'S NOT!
Ellie Van Halen! 🎸🤩🤘
Love, LOve, LOVe, LOVE it!!!!!
I can tell by the way Ellen shows respect and care for a historical piece of equipment like that guitar that she was raised right.
Very gracious of her and her father to participate in this. She's recognized everywhere! Btw - love the hat she's wearing - nice large brim and good ventilation. (Love the hat he's wearing for different reasons.)
That is the coolest thing ever. Congrats Ellen.
Eddy was a great guitarist. He was born in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, little Eddie and his brother lived for a few years in the city where I was born and still live, Nijmegen.
Thanks for this episode and have a great holiday.
RIP EDDIE! WELL PLAYED ELLEN!
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
No idea what order the video was shot in, but Ellen's smile at the start of the video is beautiful, you can tell she is loving the moment

Truly Awesome--Thank you for sharing! A bright future awaits you Ellen! 🎸 ❤😊
Lucky. ✌️
No need to apologize for poor video quality at the beginning. The iPhone makes great video and as a video professional working in the field, I’m finding that it’s getting used to replace all those other expensive cameras lately.
I think I was worried more about the audio quay, but it wasn’t as bad. I’ll have my wireless mics next time 😄
That is KEWL as it can get ! Hoveck is a real dad! thanks for sharing it was to rockers a moment in time ! There will never be another Eddie Van Halen - Never - there are a lot of great guitarists, Eddie once in a lifetime.. Ellen is fantastic at bass.... fan for a long time! from SE Texas Bear ❤💯🙏
Ya know, i read about him on Wikipedia about Eddie Van Halen 🤔 💭
That dude seems like a very nice guy and he was very kind to Ellen which I appreciate. He must be an Van Halen superfan he's even wearing shorts with the Eruption '78 finish pattern! If you look at 3:00 you can see them!
I can't wait to see you play this live :) Please keep us updated
How amazing for you and your Dad and thank you to the gentleman for this and his service. Too cool for words.
Welcome to San Diego! I live here in San Diego! It will be so need to see you and your daughter. She’s such a wonderfully gifted and joyful girl! Hope she keeps that for as long as she can.
Wow. Why am i crying?
@@grimdrum2396 I think it's because your seeing a very special little lady,I did also👍 every child is Special💫
Im always saying “wow” with this young talented lady. So adding a few big ones (ha) was not a surprise to me. I am one her followers and even though Im an old musician gal, if I had seen Ellen and her dad walking down the street, I would have screamed like a silly fanatic!! They are wonderful and I look forward to their posts daily! Rock on girrrrl!!!!
What an incredible memory for life! Hovak: "Just don't 'Jump' with it." 🤣 Thank you Mike! 🤘

So cool and nice of Mike to do that. Happy for you guys.
Unreal.. just unreal... such a cool guy and such an amazing thing
Living the dream , so nice to see these days !
Wow… how cool…
This was awesome. Even the slightly awkward bit. I'm not American, but I respect the culture of thanking returned servicemen and women for their service. Thanks for sharing this.👍
RIP EVH.

HOW COOL IS THAT??!! Thank you for your service, Mike. Cheers!
I"m not crying... You're crying! What a beautiful honor as Eddie was all about empowering the next generation of musicians. LOVE THIS!!
Why did I start to cry like a baby when she opened the case. Miss you Eddie!
This is just awesome. Congrats Ellen. You’ve just handled a guitar that the Legendary Eddie Van Halen played, multiple times. What an honor. There are many fans of Eddie that would love to have the same experience. Stay cool and keep on Rockin Ellen. Good job Dad. 🎸🤘🏼👍🏻
An EVH Wolfgang Played by Eddie... so cool.
Cool, Ellen and family! Ellen knows and appreciates so much about rock music that I didn’t learn until my late teens! And I’m from Deeetroit!!
Big fan of Ellen and dad. I live in one of the condo tower behind you guys. Stoked you're in San Diego
Ah, that’s wonderful. Edward was one of the greatest ground breaking innovators the instrument has ever had. He was the reason I first picked up the instrument back in 1979 when as a 16 yr old I saw him live in Finsbury Park in London…At the time like many others I didn’t understand how he could make a guitar sound like a Bach organ with two hands on the fretboard. Back then his many techniques had yet to be popularised. It’s great that Ellen gets to play this instrument because with Ed doing stuff for the Opus Foundation for youngsters unable to afford instruments he encouraged young players and helped them considerably. I’m sure Ed would be really pleased about new talented young players like Ellen who will be the next generation of musicianship whether bass or guitar……(Paul )
Dad You're the greatest for raising such a beautiful and wonderful daughter! Ellen you are such a precious little lady with with the prettiest smile! I have no kids so you and your Dad brighten my days so much! May the Lord Bless your family! Rock on! \m/
Ellen Van Halen😊.
Love it! Awesomeness abounds.
This is so awesome ❤. I have no other words. 😊
Oh I wish I'd known you were coming to town. I would have taken you on the Midway Museum and taken you on a tour. So amazing you're making connections like this in San Diego. Hope you had an amazing trip.
I hope that guitar goes into a museum, so everyone can appreciate it.

I just watched you for the very first time when you were on Steve Harvey's show and now I watched this video. I am a brand new subscriber, and looking forward to watching more :). :)
Welcome aboard!
I'm glad Ellen got to experience this piece of history.
Eddie was smiling down upon a future rock goddess from rock and roll heaven.
that was one of Van Halen's best tunes "you might as well jump" LOL
This is how you know you hit big time. Very fun
That was beautiful. Keep the music alive!
Absolutely incredible!
