I live in Australia, a walk in vape shop is rare to find in this massive country of ours. I found out about e-cigs online, I was lucky enough to stumble across some e-cig supplies and quit smoking as soon as I put the device together via some help with you tube tutorials. I had been smoking for 40 years! I still had 4 unopened packs of 40's which cost $38 per packet and never touched them again! It's been 8 months cig free for me, I import my diluted nicotine and add to my e-juice. I can buy every thing I need in Australia, apart from nicotine. Have any of our concerned citizens noticed that nicotine patches, gums etc are on the bottom shelves of out supermarkets, within the reach of children? and you don't need to be over 18 to purchase them? Ridiculous! I loved this very informative, true and tested report on vaping, come on Australia, get with the game!

Congratulations Cathy!! I live in the United States. Your story is similar to mine. I smoked two packs of cigarettes per day on average and had been smoking for 42 years. I tried everything to quit from smoking cessation classes, patches, pills, and shear will power and nothing worked for me. I always felt like I was losing my mind because I was so addicted to cigarettes and then I bought a vape starter kit on December 9th 2012 and have never smoked another cigarette since. In just a little over 3 weeks it will be 5 years since I've had a cigarette. For a long time former smoker this is a huge accomplishment. My long term plan is to stop vaping. I started vaping with 24mg. of nicotine and have gradually reduced the dosage. During the 5 years I have gone from 24mg. to 18 to 16 to 12 to 9 to 6 to 3 and now I'm at 1.5 mg. At first when you cut the nicotine you'll have a slight craving for more nicotine but for me after about 2 weeks or so you will adjust. My overall health is so much better now. I love being a non smoker. This truly has been a blessing for me.

I was a smoker for about 50 years, 2 packs a day for the last 20 or so. After hearing about vaping a year ago, I went to a vape shop and tried one out. I immediately knew this would work. I have been vaping and smoke free for a year at the end of this month. I wish vaping had been around 40 years ago. I have no fear of back sliding into ciggs again as I have tried a cigg recently and found i tasted like crap and didn't satisfy my urge to inhale at all.

    • @omarmohsinalialkarawi9242
      @omarmohsinalialkarawi9242 6 лет назад +1

      Ahmed Sief
It depends on how much you vape everyday , the amount of nicotine is usually per milliliter so you can calculate accordingly , for example, if you vape 4 ml of 6 mg/ml e liquid daily that means you consume 24 mg in a day which in my opinion is too much , for me I prepare my e liquid myself and I vape around 10 milliliter a day and I put 20 mg nicotine in 100 ml bottle, that means I vape approximately 2 mg a day
Off course I started with higher dose of nicotine, in the beginning it was something between 15 to 20 mg a day and dropped gradually to 2 mg a day now

    • @ahmedsief396

      Omar Mohsin Ali Alkarawi
thank you so much for your explanation ... appreciate your response.
when you are saying 6 mg of nicotine you meant 0.6 mg right ⁉
so if it's 0.6 mg of nicotine that means I consume 2.4 mg of nicotine if I vape 4 ml.
is this too much as you mentioned ⁉

    • @omarmohsinalialkarawi9242
      @omarmohsinalialkarawi9242 6 лет назад +2

      Ahmed Sief
      You are welcome
      I meant 6 mg not , 0.6
and I think if you vape 2.4 mg a day is not much
It also depends on the method you vape, if you do direct lung vaping , you body absorbs more than mouth to lung vaping

@NonLegit Nation LOL ... I get you. My wardrobe and filing cabinet still smells of it when I open them. But at least my house smells fresh now, and so do I! Haha! Keep it up. You're over the worst hurdle. For me, the first 2 weeks were a bit difficult but after that, it was a piece of cake. DON'T, for any reason, take even a puff of a cigarette because you'll go back to the habit. I would stay on your 6mg a few months, if I were you, then switch to 3mg. Just to make sure your body doesn't crave more nicotine and get your urge back. I've been on 3mg for about a year now. I intend to switch to 0mg in a few months and then hopefully to quit even vaping. But I'm in no rush. I spent 40 years smoking and it nearly killed me, so this alternative is a life-saver at all events. Good luck!

vape juice is high loaded sugar. This sugar stays on the teeth. The body relases bacteria that feast on sugar to help remove it from your teeth before they rot away. To much release of this bacteria causes reciding gums as bacteria will eat away at gum and bone. Sugar toxins also stick inside the lungs so the body again releases bacteria into that the lungs to eat away at this but they will also eat away at lung tissues as the sugar is deeply bedded into the lungs. Gum disease and lung disease. So save yourself on tar but instead cause a body response that will kill you.
Vaping is no better then smoking. In fact as time goes on it will be shown how it is actually worse then smoking.
Sugar does not belong in lungs.

I have been a smoker for over 50 years....as time progressed, I became a very heavy smoker.
I suffer two heart attacks a few years back and, regardless of the doctors warnings, I continued to smoke.
A few weeks or so go, I bought a vape kit. At this time, I still smoke cigarettes, but far less than I had been in the past.
I hope it works. I've tried prescribed medications, chewing gum and patches...none were successful...in fact the medication..Chantix...made me sick.
I live in Australia, where vaping is still a grey area and nicotine infused vape juice is not available over the counter. I had to buy the juice I wanted from New Zealand.
The penalties of being a long term, heavy cigarette smoker are twofold....it has drastically shortened my life expectancy and it has burned away thousands of my hard earned dollars over the years.
However, I am resolute in my quest to kick the habit, but if one more do gooder tells me to "just go cold turkey", I will throttle them. Cheers

I'm 54 yrs. old. I started smoking at around 17, and smoked regularly for years. There were 2 times that I quit smoking, once for 3 years. I have tried patches, pills and they helped some, but not enough to not want to quit smoking for good. I woke up on August 4th of this year and felt like shit, that was the day I made the decision to give vaping a try, I figured what the heck do I have to lose... I'm so glad I made the switch, I haven't touched a cigarette since...thanks to vaping. My wife still smokes, but does vape at times when it's inconvenient to light up, but I am slowly working on her to give it up also. To be honest, when she is out back smoking, I don't even like standing close to her because of the smell of the cigarette.

Today its been 5 years since I last had a cigarette. And it has totally transformed my life. Would I ever smoke again?. No way!. I can smell things, taste things, my clothes do not smell of stale ashtrays, but I know for a fact that my breathing has improved dramatically and I feel much better for it.
Who ever invented the e-cig in China deserves to be knighted, and deserves a key to the world.

Before I started vaping I would give up smoking for a bit then start up again, I used to get bronchitis every winter & end up on steroids as it affected my asthma. Since I've been vaping I've had no desire to smoke and haven't had bronchitis or any chest infections, the other thing I found is that my peak flow level went from 300-350 to 450-500.

Excellent results! My mom was in her mid 60's when we started vaping and she loved it. Quit smoking. She already had COPD/emphasema and she was disappointed when her peak flow levels didn't improve noticeably. But I feel like it really increased her quality of life and gave me more time with her. She passed about a year and half ago from non-respiratory issues.

I walked into a vape shop planning to buy tobacco, left the shop with a Renova ZERO, after using it for a while without smoking actual tobacco I tried to roll some tobacco and was disappointed - the feeling was not the same anymore. So I definitely fall into the category of people who just dropped smoking without planning to. And it's great! I thought I never would.

As a matter of fact, it has gotten to the point that, I don't like the taste of cigs anymore. I lit one up the other day and had three puffs and put it out. It tasted horrible! I am a big supporter for e-cigarettes and smokers that need help.

35 years ago I picked up cigarettes. Started vaping a long while ago, returned back to cigs again after 18 months vaping, kicked again and have been vaping 100% for 2 1/2 years with nearly zero likelihood of returning to cigarettes. It was easier the second time because I found better products than when I first started vaping and found what works well for me in taste and delivery that ensured I maintained 100% vaping.
I went from being a total couch potato, to becoming much more active - putting on muscle, walking/running for miles, playing volleyball on weekends, fitness bicycling ... none of which I would do as a cigarette smoker. The positives, by far, outweigh the negatives.

I started smoking in 1980 when i was 10 years old, today im 49. At most i smoked 3 pack a day.
In 2017 my father got kidney failure and needed a transplant, i volunteered as donor. The doctors did a whole bunch of medical checks and it didn't looked good but it wasn't bad.
The doctors asked if i smoked and i could only confirm my bad habit. About 1 month in i started vaping, time went on and after about 3-4 month the doctors asked me if i had changed anything in my life because they could see that my blood pressure, lung capacity, heart rhythm had improved by almost 30%. I told them that i stopped the cigarette and started vaping. They looked at me and said, We don't know what is happening but it work, your health is getting better so keep going.
Today i have been vaping for 2 years and i still do my checkups and the doctors love to see that im getting healthier even if i only have one kidney.
So MY advice to smokers around the world STOP SMOKING and START VAPING.

Everyone has a vice my good man. We're not all so head strong to will ourselves to living a pure and toxic-free existence on this tarnished planet, especially when it comes to every aspect in our lives that affects our minds and bodies. Until the day we die, and I mean we as in every single living and breathing organism walking or crawling on this earth, there will be very strong chains that will be the cause of our inevitable expiration.

    • @MysticJounin
      @MysticJounin 7 лет назад +1

That's good for you. However, I wasn't talking generally but more on a grand scale. Aside from tobacco and tobacco companies, there are a lot of other harmful and toxic elements that we invite into our lives that are slowly sucking the life out of us. We're all consumers at some level, so in your words, we're all "slaves" to something that's going to get us killed in the end. Heck, even just looking at your computer screen or gluing your eyes to your mobile phone exposes your body to EMF that is said cause cancer. Do you think you can quit using your mobile phone or computer, or even watching television, knowing that it's emitting radioactive particles into the atmosphere around you?

Governments should embrace the technology rather than putting it in the too hard basket. Governments seem to have no issue in expelling the effort and energy required to increase taxes on tobacco "in the name of health" yet when a product comes along that is guaranteed to reduce smoking by far larger factors than a tax increase does.... thet don't want to know about it.
I have just started using one and would love to have some regulations in place to ensure that the products are built to a safe standard and the oils used in them are safe and not being made on the cheap to maximise profits with inferior substances.
Its refreshing to hear experienced health professionals all have a common theme 'that e-cigarettes are FAR FAR FAR FAR healthier than smoking' no matter how you look at it.... end of story.. Great video!.

I didn't necessarily want to quit smoking. It was simply inconvenient, dirty, and expensive. I hated going outside in -10 C or below to smoke, people around me hated the smell, and it was costing me $300 a month. I smoke from 14, picked up vaping at 34, and have been smoke free for 9 months. I love how clothes don't linger of cigarette smell, being able to vape indoors at home without having to worry about smell and ashes, and I only spend, on average, $30 a month on e-juice and coils. Health benefits are an added bonus for me. Thus, I fully believe that vaping will save so many lives of smokers, even those who do not necessarily have intentions to quit.

After I went out and bought a packet of cigarettes and started smoking again I was disgusted with myself as I had quit following a bad chest infection. I learned about vaping about a year ago and bought a vape kit, but still struggled with getting the amount of nicotine I was used to. I started smoking at 11. I am asthmatic. I was placed on medications for my asthma that would be uncontrollable around smokers. The medications did not control the asthma. And in my life growing up, the doctors didn't warn family about the affects second hand smoke caused asthmatics.
I too was unaware of the affects smoking had on my asthma.
I am now 47 years old. I smoked a pack a day for 34 years the first time that I quit about 2 years ago. A very stressful situation combined with running out of e liquid hurled me back into smoking as a cigarette was more in reach than e liquid. I found very quickly that my one pack a day prior to quitting the first time turned into almost 2 packs a day.
One night I had woken up in the middle of the night after having dental work done from the pain in my mouth, to an infomercial on tv about vaping. I recalled having successfully quit for 4 months due to that availability.
Prior to this infomercial, I had attempted to quit using many alternatives. Some alternatives combined with others. All the alternatives lead to failure. I tried the patches. They didn't work. I tried the medications. They didn't work. I tried the gum with the patches. That didn't work. I tried the medication with the patches. Again, failure. I started to think that I wasn't going to ever quit. Though I really wanted to. I got tired of spending all my hard earned money on stuff that didn't work. But more tired of spending my money on cigarettes.
It was that infomercial that made me realize that if I had been successful once, maybe I could be successful once again.
The next morning I went in search of a store that retailed that product, as I was interested in starting immediately.
Though the product was far weaker than my average cigarette. It was a solution.
2 days after buying this product, I ran once again out of e liquid. I had a cigarette. To my surprise, that cigarette did not hold the same appeal that it once had for me for so long. Matter of fact, the taste was disgusting by comparison and it brought me no pleasure that it once had.
That date was November 28, 2017. I have not had a cigarette since.
Thanks to vaping, I am successfully an ex smoker once and for all.
On December 1, 2017 I still had 3 packs of cigarettes that I gave away. I will never look back!
Stop trying so hard to ban a healthier alternative. I will not say that it's healthier than having never smoked. But I am already addicted to the nicotine. Consider this, they use a Meth based alternative to combat Meth addiction. What's the harm in a nicotine based alternative to traditional cigarettes?
The government needs to get out of my health, and my life if all they are concerned with is what's in my bank account!!!

but you don't hear stories of people getting injured or getting a disease from inhaling water vapor.
You never heard of people saying that sauna's are bad for you. Right?

It's the stopping smoking not the vaping. Smoking tobacco (it's mainly the nicotine) raises metabolic rate and can slightly depress appetite - so smokers generally weigh less than they should do. Stopping smoking results in a re-balancing to the 'correct' weight. Vaping with a juice that contains nicotine can help with this. BTW: it is estimated that you'd have to be 88 pounds above your recommended weight to equal the risk of heart disease that smoking poses!

Yeah, nicotine products have a history of being surrounded with lies or false claims. I’ll try and have faith that things turn out alright once there is sufficient research done on its long term effects.

My story is a bit different -- I came from cigars to vaping. I had a large humidor with a few hundred sticks in it. I liked the craftsmanship, the smoke, the flavor and smell. Now I build my own coils/wicks and DIY juice for that sense of quality craftsmanship. The flavor and smell are excellent, and I smell and feel much better than I did with cigars. :-)
I make my juice with 0.5mg nic, mainly for the possible neuroprotective benefits.

I've offered to get several people started with vaping to quit smoking. All of them told me they would just quit on their own and many were afraid of vaping. All of those people are still smoking to this day. It's sad.

I smoked cigarettes for almost 50 years, 2+ packs a day for a large part of that. I tried all the different ways to quit with no success. In fact, the anxiety I felt before I even tried the other methods insured failure. 2 1/2 years ago I tried vaping. From my first test in the store I knew it would work. Besides improved sence of taste and smell my doctor has cut one of my blood pressure medications in 1/2 and dropped another completely. In my honest opinion vaping has saved my life.

I'm really glad that vaping is a bit better for u. I've been smoking cigarettes for a long time. I seem to be enjoying them more than conventional cigarettes. I vape with the menthol, no fancy flavor for me. I smoked about 2 packs a day until the Vapes came into my life. I'm down to1/3 or less pack of cigarettes. these Vapes helped me cut down drastically. soon I will quit. no smell, no stains. very nice. genius of an invention. thanx much!!

At last a sensible and honest video regarding vaping. I brought my mod a year ago and overnight went from 20 hand rolled cigarettes a day to 2. 5 months ago I stopped smoking completely and I wouldn't ever go back to the stinking "coffin nails". Friendly warning to beginners get the right nic strength for the amount you smoke and if you are using a sub ohm mod double whatever the nic strength the bottle says eg 3mg liquid in a sub is more like 6mg.

Okay!! I live in australia. Nicotine is considered a poison. Therefore you cant buy e liquid with nicotine in australia, its illegal to sell with nicotine.
BUT! You can order it from overseas with nicotine legally in every state but Queensland. I live in queensland 😂.
Also Queensland is the only state where you cant use e-cigs in smoke free zones. Wtf is going on here ppl!! I thought i was in the most laid back state.

Our Government,,, the Libtards and Mr Hunt, Federal minister for health, receive a shit tonne of money from the tobacco industry and lobby groups. As long as this money keeps flowing, they won't have a bar of it,, no matter how positive it may be for your health.
