i may not make Harry's Wizarding Tower of Magical Surprises, but im definitely stealing this technique to make a load of stone ruins and bastions and the like.
"You'z a weirdboy Harry" "I iz a what?" "A weirdboy, and a pretty cunnin' one!" this build is really cool, the bricks really blend into it, not looking like sprues anymore, so cool ^^
Great, now I can't get the image of an ork throwing a gretchin (with in invitation to WAAAGH-warts attached to it's leg) through Harry's window out of my head.
You should consider using multiple shades and textures when applying flock. There are a plethora of options for moss/grass/shrub/tree creation. Great work, friend!
Fantastic video with truly ingenious DIY craft which highlights sustainability and recycling. John highlights thst you don't need expensive equipment and to buy tones of specialist materials to turn household rubbish into a work of art!
What 3 people didn't like this. I bloody love your stuff. And thiseb3 people can bugger off. This is hobbying in its truest form, full creativity. Using original methods created by yourself. I get excited for all of your videos. Thank you
Having the planes reminds me of slab construction in pottery, essentially you can use that to start building any basic geometry along your sprue frames you made in previous videos. You could use the syringe to draw things onto the sheet pan you couldn't otherwise make by just dripping it off a clothes hanger. That way you could create rings and therefore chains. Just spitballing, anyway cool videos keep up the great work!
I love how you make the slate tiles :-) I use pine cone pieces for most of my roofs, as I make mostly Halfling/Elf type scenery, but also use cut up cardboard plant pots for slates, as they are smooth on the outside, and rough on the inside, so are reversible. I simply MUST try making the Goo From Sprues you use, just to see what I can do with it for myself :-) LOVE all your sprue tutorials, as I have a LOT of them lying around, as I collect them from my gaming mates and figure painting service customers, so now have lots of inspiring ideas to try out thanks to you :-D
Love this build! Really want to get into making more of my own pieces. One thing you can do for the base is add actual stones and sand (before priming) and/or use textured paints (tiny bits of grit in it), then dry brush and then grass - gives it a real natural look. And also add a bit of felt on the bottom of the CD (which is a brilliant idea for a base).
Awesome vid. The creativity is next level and the scenery building is something I used to love in the hobby. Awesome result that would improve any battlefield.
"Repeat this process for the next... ten days." That, sir, is dedication. Honestly, I'm sure you're an apprentice stonemason at this point. Looks awesome! Using the wire brush method (which I know works on foam) on the sprues is amazing.
If I might make a suggestion, if you want to expand into doing this fulltime it might be good to look at people like Midwinter Minis who have achieved that through patreon and stuff. You could also go further down the art patreon route with rewards like uncut painting processes and things where you explain or help people through painting and modelling since apart from lore videos a lot of people are looking for those really big models or armies as well as beginning tips and tricks to help them start painting well. Simple vids on colour washing and techniques like that could do well but I’m not sure
man.. the internet can be such a cesspool. But not you. You've got the most positive wholesome energy bro... keep it up. Also, I'm building a ruined city and Im totally going to use this video for my table.
Wonderfully done...question? Can you make a( buddy 3ooo robot)? I know it's not in your category of model making...but since you're great at making great things from scratch with scraps... I thought I'd ask..
Those bricks look really good! I am impressed with the overall design of this castle. Looks like something you could buy. I don’t play Warhammer, but I am going to try the modeling technique.
Ok, I'm trying this. Brilliant result! I'm already searching for coffee grinders on amazon. Anybody got any recommendations for a similar result to this one?
Although that is a lot of tiny bricks to place... it looks amazing! My partner and I just recently got into warhammer, and I hate that the sprus can't be recycled! (Or as far as I know can't be) so I love seeing interesting ways to use them like this, really tempted to give this a go as my second set is an AoS orc set 😁

Thank you for inspiring me and my zombies thank you for the chariots
Seriously, impressed with this one. You are the SPRUE KING 🤴
Thank you so much, this is by far my favourite build =)
Some would call him.. Spruce Lee 🥋
It's far more than "pretty decent" like you said : it's incredible !!!
Thank you, this is my best build so far =)
I love the way you did the crumbling end of the platform, it really looks like it was once a bridge that has gone to ruin.
i may not make Harry's Wizarding Tower of Magical Surprises, but im definitely stealing this technique to make a load of stone ruins and bastions and the like.
These are some great aged bricks that will look good in what ever you make =)
This is incredible, the bricks and tiles are so good!
Thank you, I am pleased with how they came out =)
Awesome you can make something so good out of what most people throw away. Keep at it as the builds just keep getting better.
Thank you so much, thats what makes these builds even more enjoyable =)
And Aww it definitely does inspire!
Thank you I am very pleased with this build =)
@@MiniatureHobbyist As ya should be I was in awww of it meself. May try something similar!!! =)
The bricks... wth why did I throw all my sprues away lol, this is freaking brilliant!
*skips to the end*
Wait what how.
*goes back to the start*
Nice touch at the end of the platform with the falling bricks!
You can make great rafts and boats with that stuff.
Oh and th tower looks 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much, now on to the ork tavern =)

Nibbly nobbly bits! Very helpful video! I had no idea where to start. 😅
Thank you, in my mind I can break down a build into small manageable parts, it makes the build so much easier =)
I'd like to see a Ship, Galley, Frigate, something like that. Perhaps a bunker :)
I want to do a pirate ship held up by a balloon =)
@@MiniatureHobbyist Grot Skypirate ship incoming?
@@scheinerchen6471 yup its that incoming that I have already started on it =)
the music is always boppin'
i love that ork wizard and his tower
Amazing. Coffee grinder is genius level.
The coffee grinder trick makes all the sprues look so good, and with allot less time and effort.
It really does age them well and they all look a little different =)
You should consider using multiple shades and textures when applying flock. There are a plethora of options for moss/grass/shrub/tree creation.
Great work, friend!
Absolutely insane how good this looks
I agree and think this is one of your best builds. The texture on the tower is fantastic and the crumbling bricks work really well.
Thank you, defiently worth the time laying each brick lol, will probably do this for the ork tavern now as I love the bricks so much =)
Awesome, making me want to collect Warhammer bretonians and orks again just so I can make scenery like that
Fantastic video with truly ingenious DIY craft which highlights sustainability and recycling. John highlights thst you don't need expensive equipment and to buy tones of specialist materials to turn household rubbish into a work of art!
I love that you made an ork wizard

Wow m8, this opened up a whole world for me. I'm gonna do this.
love those bricks, great build!
Cheers Bill, definently worth the time laying each one individually lol 🙂
@@MiniatureHobbyist wouldn't have it any other way. It always shows when you lay them individually

Cool build! Bit fast, though. I was still on Nurgle King speed...
Thank you, haha I dont like watching long videos so make mine how I would want to watch them, concise and to the point =)
