Great story. I found my 75 highboy and sent the lady a check and arranged shipping as well. Sometimes you gotta trust a stranger. Also put a built 428 in it. Hydroboost, 76 front axle and rear disc conversion and now it can stop itself without relying on downshifting.
@Cxmaron that will make a huge difference. 1 finger turning on pavement with 35s along with the better steering radius getting rid of closed knuckle front end.
Great video about the truck Man! My first truck and daily driver was a 75, 360, with an np435. I bought it with an early 77 rolling chassis. It had a 73 F100 cab and front clip and a 77 bed on it. They welded angle on the frame to bolt the bed down and it also had a 3" body lift, with 33" mud kings on 16.5x10 wides. First things I did was put 38.5" Ground Hawgs on, gave it a Krylon kiss of flat od green and rolled the big hub 44 under the front from the 77 chassis. It was open knuckle, disc brake front. After a short period the frame broke between the rear leafs. That's a common spot on the cab chassis and hi-boys, in PA. Since they have the reinforcing plate in there, at the thinnest spot. It holds all of the salts, the get thin and break. Especially getting the ol girls twisted up in the ruts. I let it go since I had already started collecting several other 70s Ford trucks and Broncos. They are all fun but eventually I got rid of all of them. I didn't have a place to keep them or the resources to build them up the way I wanted to.
My dads 79 broke in half about the same spot and that’s when he retired it… rust sucks, I hope to keep this one and my bronco forever but ya never know how things go
Still have my 73 highboy.. Needs to be gone through again. Totally restored in 93. 5.0 with automatic overdrive drive train out of an 84 mercury marquis.
my great uncle paid all cash for a brand new high boy in early to mid 1974 we still have it in the family although it hasn't ran in 20 to 30 years it stills sits in a shed waiting for me to get her running again it all dark green and is almost identical to yours but in the late 80's to early 90's the bed had rusted off so my great uncle being a farmer put a sprayer on the back of it and that's how he sprayed his fields until he died my jaw dropped when I seen yours on shorts
thanks a lot, I'm going to try to keep posting great content.. this is my third youtube channel and I have always tried to get better every time I can.

Bro got lucky asf not gettin scammed wiring that money though! I'll say that! Spirit wanted bro to have it and made sure he would and it all played out
the guy owned a fab shop that had a very reputable online site with hundreds of google reviews from years and years back..... I did my research on him before I sent it, we also facetimed so he could show me the whole truck before hand.
Yeah I saw your viral short and all the crying about wheel size and the Edelbrock carb, just leave it that carb is the perfect choice for a street driven truck gives good throttle response, easy to adjust and holds the tune…

I’ve got a list stored in my brain of all the old ford pickups in my area. Still lots of them sitting around but most are parts rigs.
I know where every old Ford in the surrounding counties sits too lol
just watched the whole video, you should definitely make more videos on these older trucks!
Thanks man I will!
My early 77 highboy never had a filler.
@@glenndoherty6864 like on the bed?
The highboy is my favorite look on a ford truck..I have a 96 7.3 and I put a level kit on it so it would be close to having the highboy look..
could always buy a 2wd 70s ford and plop that body on your 96 frame and have one hell of a rig haha
