What I like about it is 1: it’s old school 2: no def system ( killer of diesel p/u trucks) 3: No EGR valve and EGR cooler ( another killer of diesel p/u trucks) 4: no cp3 or cp4 fuel pump (another killer of diesel p/u trucks) 5: worry free going down the road the way p/u trucks are meant to be! Great rebuild, like the way it turned out!
I love how the details were kept simple. No weird wheels/tires, no air suspension, no 1000hp hot-rod diesel... Just an amazing truck, the way it should have been built to begin with.
"Done is better than perfect." - I feel called out! LOL! My own crew cab project has been going on for 4+ years. I haven't given up, but I do need to stop chasing perfection because it's only hindering making things get done.
Tim, you did an amazing job on that truck and you should be proud! What a fun build series to watch, and a great video to bring it all together at the end. Very inspiring!
1:22 The moment I smiled, when I saw the NV4500 on the ground. Well done, sir. I know you said it’s not about perfection, but Longbed Larry is perfect.
To have the perseverance to get this across the finish line is impressive. I have an old diesel as well and marvel at its simplicity and performance. Your truck will bring you years worth of enjoyment.
I’ve been afraid to mess up something on my d350 because I don’t know or don’t have confidence but this gives me motivation to try and learn and believe in myself to restore my d350. Great work I love this Channel❤️
One word: Badass.....Of all the Dodge/Ram trucks, that grille is my favorite, a statement in simplicity, and the new headlights really set it off. Beautiful detailing and upgrades. Love the paint on the 6-bt! Clean lines on the vintage trucks -- no weird body creases, no excessive chrome, all the "styling" things I hate about all the new trucks.
Love it. Great work persevering and carrying on through to the end Tim! I’m a dyed-in-the-wool 2nd Gen guy, but it’s been fun following along and seeing your progress and it’s a beautiful truck. Hope you keep LBL and enjoy it for years to come!
I would love to have this rig. Knowing a decent guy with a passion built it to be solid. Thank you i will keep following you because i have projects that will need your level if passion/dedication and knowledge.
I'd say you boys did a fully decent job on this sweet rig. I used to drive one of these for work back in the day with the Cummins and no turbo. I just remember it being slower than a turtle at the lights but it could tow a house.
The 22 ram seats are a perfect cross over. That's exactly what I love to do. Old trucks or cars, with new seats and sometimes some touch screens inside to cross the new and old.
I was low man on the totem pole for a crew building a bridge Deep In The Siskiyou mountains loveed that truck 1966 crew cab. Also a 73 long bed crew. With 35s nothing stopped it
I love a good ol 12v. Mines mostly stock but it just makes you happy to hear it run. The individual valve covers are magnificent. This build is truly stunning. I wish I had more hours in the day to rebuild mine as it sits a lot.
Your trucks are always top notch. This summer a friend and I did a cummins conversation in a '78 Powerwagon. It's all about making dreams happen. Appreciate all the "How To" videos and project updates.
Ive got one of these, long bed crew cab converted to 4 wheel drive, 91 12 valve ve pump, larger injectors, HE 351 turbo, G56 six speed transmission, Dana 60 king pin front axle, Dana 80 single wheel rear axle. Custom air ride suspension. Dual battery set up. Its a dream to drive. I just need to finish the interior, and get new tires, and finish the electrical and so on..... lol
That is badass! My buddy has a standard cab that has the original paint job exactly like that, and it still looks amazing for its age! It's just like that with the 12 valve 5.9, but I think his is an automatic.
Liked and subscribed. Incredible build skills! The music was too loud in my ear buds and other than that this was very enjoyable to watch. Again, nice job!
The UT background with snow looks nice. I used to live in Layton, UT back in the day when I was in the AF, at Hill AFB. Truck project quite amazing, lots of patience to build it and lots of cha chingers too...
Amazing truck, I loved seeing the process. I create 3D models of trucks and now I am going to have to create a 3D model of a Cummins four door. Thanks for showing your truck.
Really nice truck. Very tastefully done also. I love the interior, then again the exterior is awesome as well. Ok, now I'm inspired to do a few more things to my '86 F-250.
Sick rig. I have a 91 1/2 W250 that's got a cool story and like you, I'm just going for it and not letting perfection get in the way. Just finished my hillbilly scratch and spray paint job and it actually looks pretty darn good. Nothing like yours, but good enough!
made respect for this project. Mines just as nice all done myself but a crewcab squarebody, from nampa idaho just next to middleton my old stomping grounds. you seem like me worth a follow for sure
Funny how the algorithms work. I get this quickie of rebuilding your crew cab dodge and I’m in the repair the rust phase of rebuilding my crew cab ford. I’ve already got the chassis and drivetrain done. I’m still looking for interior parts and trim. Paint and body work first. Nice work you’ve got a good looking truck
Nice job. I've been in the restoration business since 1993, probably when that truck was new. Only things I would've done differently, for several reasons, strength, safety, and ride quality, is I would've boxed the frame to get coil up front, and push out the spring perches wider for stability. And incase you get hit, boxing the frame, plus maybe caging it, would give you and your family peace of mind, and tieing the cage into the frame. These trucks fold so easy in the event of an accident, it would blow your mind how easy. Their made of mild steal, all the way from the frame to that sheet metal. Other then that beautiful truck. And oh ya, I recently just purchased a 2010 unicorn with 56k on it. This is my forever truck, and I plan on caging it. It will also save rare body parts in the event of an accident
I have a 92 W250 that I am about ready to restore. I have had this since new so the restoration shouldn't be as involved as yours. Love this and you've done an amazing job.
Congrats after all the hard detailed work you have invested in your new Ram and it's nice to see that the engines pump has been switched to the much better P7100, enjoy your Ram and drive safely.
Anytime and yes, I drive & love a 2WD '97 Ram 2500 with a 5-speed too, with the same P7100 and putting out about 300 horses based on an open 4" pipe, a S&B intake system and a different plate in the fuel pump, getting ~ 22,5 mpg even after Obimi's stupid idea to put water in the fuel. Put the hammer down and stay safe!
Stunning truck. Way better than new. Love seeing a project end so well.
Thanks! It was a fun one to build.
What I like about it is
1: it’s old school
2: no def system ( killer of diesel p/u trucks)
3: No EGR valve and EGR cooler ( another killer of diesel p/u trucks)
4: no cp3 or cp4 fuel pump (another killer of diesel p/u trucks)

Great rebuild, like the way it turned out!
what does "p/u" mean
Cp3 injection pumps are one of the best ever created and are not problematic. Cp4 on the other hand are a nightmare.
@@shooburshune pickup as in pickup trucks
I love how the details were kept simple. No weird wheels/tires, no air suspension, no 1000hp hot-rod diesel... Just an amazing truck, the way it should have been built to begin with.
Thanks man! That's exactly what I was going for.
Amen
That’s nicer than a brand new truck!
Yep!!! And WAY MORE RELIABLE !!!
I want this truck. BEAUTIFUL work and so cool to see it all done!
It really turned out perfect!
Of course you do Andrew! Lol 😆
"Done is better than perfect." - I feel called out! LOL! My own crew cab project has been going on for 4+ years. I haven't given up, but I do need to stop chasing perfection because it's only hindering making things get done.
That’s the way to look at it! It’s easy to get bogged down.
Old is gold
As a ex auto mechanic, this brings a tear to my eyes... love this, Awesome stuff.
I'm glad you like it, it was a lot of work but it was worth it!
Excellent job Tim, love how your passion has grown for these old trucks over the years. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Merry Christmas!
Merry Chrysler!
Merry Christmas! I really appreciate the support!
Tim, you did an amazing job on that truck and you should be proud! What a fun build series to watch, and a great video to bring it all together at the end. Very inspiring!
Thanks Tyler! It feels weird to finish a project haha
1:22 The moment I smiled, when I saw the NV4500 on the ground. Well done, sir. I know you said it’s not about perfection, but Longbed Larry is perfect.
Nice shipping crate bud!
To have the perseverance to get this across the finish line is impressive. I have an old diesel as well and marvel at its simplicity and performance. Your truck will bring you years worth of enjoyment.

What a dream truck, great job. Wished I had the money too do this. I hope I see this around
I'm glad you like it! I hope you get to build your dream truck someday.
My hats off to you Tim. Your dedication and passion definitely paid off. Good job buddy! I really enjoyed seeing this build series.
I really appreciate that, thanks!
Love it. Great work persevering and carrying on through to the end Tim! I’m a dyed-in-the-wool 2nd Gen guy, but it’s been fun following along and seeing your progress and it’s a beautiful truck. Hope you keep LBL and enjoy it for years to come!
Appreciate that! Maybe you’ll convert to a first-gen guy someday haha
LOVE your truck, great work man
Appreciate it!
I would love to have this rig. Knowing a decent guy with a passion built it to be solid. Thank you i will keep following you because i have projects that will need your level if passion/dedication and knowledge.

The truck is awesome! And man you are a Beast when come to doing something ! You’re all in all the way ! Badass
I appreciate the kind words, and I always try to give it my all!
Beautiful job sir. What an amazing job.
I appreciate it, it's been a labor of love!
I'd say you boys did a fully decent job on this sweet rig. I used to drive one of these for work back in the day with the Cummins and no turbo. I just remember it being slower than a turtle at the lights but it could tow a house.
I appreciate it! They were workhorses for sure.

Also a 73 long bed crew.

Those old crew cabs are something else!
I like the blue dodge truck as well it looks like it's 4wd
It is without a doubt the most beautiful Dodge I’ve ever seen. Just imo 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love a good ol 12v. Mines mostly stock but it just makes you happy to hear it run. The individual valve covers are magnificent. This build is truly stunning. I wish I had more hours in the day to rebuild mine as it sits a lot.
Thanks, it's been a lot of fun building it and I'm glad you like it.
Very good looking truck. And all that work, way awsome.. Maybe one day i could do something like that..
I hope you do!
Absolutely beautiful!! Fantastic job. Don't let that one out of the family!
I’m glad you like it, I’m very proud of it.
Great overview of a great build! Your positive words and attitude are refreshing. I'll have to check out more on your channel!
I'm glad you like my channel, I have a lot more cool stuff coming!
Awesome recap and amazing truck! Loved following along with you through the build. Keeps me motivated for my crew cab build.
Thanks! I hope this motivates you to get your build going!
Incredible man, I’m blown away. That is the best looking truck I’ve ever seen. Tip of the hat to you sir.
Thanks! It took a lot of work but it was worth it.
THAT IT IS! Nice work man! Been following for years! Your videos are great for all of us first gen owners/enthusiasts!
Thanks man! I appreciate the support!
great job love the paint scheem My grandpa had a old dodge like that. love the video
He'd love this one.
Your trucks are always top notch. This summer a friend and I did a cummins conversation in a '78 Powerwagon. It's all about making dreams happen. Appreciate all the "How To" videos and project updates.
Sounds like you guys had a great summer project.
Nice truck
Well done fellas .... ive got that same truck out in my pole barn in wisconsin. Now you make me want to get to work on it now seeing this
Glad I could inspire you, go get to work!
You’ve saved so many trucks by sharing info and inspiring us to work on our first gens thanks Tim
That means alot
Beautiful truck! Exactly the way a truck should be rebuilt! Good job! Thank you for the video!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked it!
I’m a sucker for the emblems for the factory look. Others like the sleek clean appearance. Either way Larry is a nice truck! Nice work.
Thanks, I think it has the best of both worlds!
Really damn good build. Love to see this in person one day rolling the Utah roads.
Ive got one of these, long bed crew cab converted to 4 wheel drive, 91 12 valve ve pump, larger injectors, HE 351 turbo, G56 six speed transmission, Dana 60 king pin front axle, Dana 80 single wheel rear axle. Custom air ride suspension. Dual battery set up. Its a dream to drive. I just need to finish the interior, and get new tires, and finish the electrical and so on..... lol
Sounds like you've got a real beast there!
Badass Larry is one cool looking long bad truck. congrats on having the time to make this video. have a case of beer on me Mate..
Right on!
The truck turned out great man!! Really enjoyed following along this build!

You did a fantastic job. The truck is beautiful. Would not change a thing.
Thanks! I think the same.
Great work , beautiful truck and enjoyed the video .
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Brother thank you , Big Hugs from Florida, new name for your truck KING LARRY.
King Larry, I like it!
One of the first times the title lived up to the promise!! Well-done, sir! Well-done!!
I appreciate that, I put a lot of work into making it the best!
I see that they painted it "Cummins Beige". They were all like that when I worked at Cummins Ontario in Toronto in the 70s'.
That is badass! My buddy has a standard cab that has the original paint job exactly like that, and it still looks amazing for its age! It's just like that with the 12 valve 5.9, but I think his is an automatic.
Sounds like a cool truck! Those old paint jobs are pretty resilient.
Liked and subscribed. Incredible build skills! The music was too loud in my ear buds and other than that this was very enjoyable to watch. Again, nice job!
Thanks for the sub!
That truck looks Awesome ! Congrats on completing it !
Thanks, I’m really happy with how it turned out!
Dude. This is so bad ass. I love everything about this, get at it men. We need all hands on deck.
Don’t you mean that this is The “Most Decent” Cummins Truck on RUclips…?
People wouldn't click on the video if I named it that! 😂
I agree with the title. It is much better to build something you can actually use than a show piece that you can just look at@@decentgarage
@ I think all of your subscribers would get it.
@@lorollinls totally
@@decentgarageI have an 87 chevy deseil squarebody I want to do for a project someday soon

Amazing truck, I loved seeing the process. I create 3D models of trucks and now I am going to have to create a 3D model of a Cummins four door. Thanks for showing your truck.
That sounds like a great project, I'd love to see it when it's done!
Great project. Turned out awesome. This model is my favorite truck chassis.
I appreciate that, it's my favorite too!
Really nice truck. Very tastefully done also. I love the interior, then again the exterior is awesome as well. Ok, now I'm inspired to do a few more things to my '86 F-250.
Thanks man, I appreciate it! Glad you're inspired.

I love the Tan block colorway, CLEAN AF truck, badass I'd be content with a 12v too, Bravo!
I appreciate it, I put a lot of work into the paint!
What a Beauty. Its A lot of Work But Worth it at the End
Great job! What I really like is that you are actually driving it. Like you said… There are way too many of these great cars that just sit there
That's the whole point! It's gotta be driven!
Sir you are really great at this, and I really don’t have the right words to express of how good this is
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
I couldn't agree with the title more! Knocked it out of the park Tim!
Thanks Gavin! Means a lot!
This baby is absolutely awesome. Well done
I really appreciate it!
The truck is rare period, and its absolutely amazing, my favorite style of dodge cummins..thats a real truck.👍
Couldn't agree more!
@decentgarage 👍
That engine completion is a work of art. Great build.
Awesome work and thanks for all the good ideas and products.
I'm glad you enjoyed the build!
Awesome work and awesome video! Not only taking the time to build the truck but filming it as well. Gained a subscriber here!

Phenomenal truck! I was like 999. 👍 Well done and congrats! I’m curious what was the cost for the project?
I'll never get to own one but if I could choose a truck this would be it. Way cool restoration and final look.

It's great to hear you're restoring your truck, it's going to be an amazing project!
Thank you. I may be contacting you for parts suppliers. Take care and Happy New Year.
Stunning achievement! And here I am, sweating bullets after buying a new alternator for my 5th gen and too nervous to try and install it :(
This older trucks are much easier to work on than the new ones
Nice job guys !
Thanks! We appreciate it.
