- I was approached by someone making a large donation, who commissioned me to make a detailed custom map for them. Long story short, they withdrew their donation and never paid the commission, and so I was left with the world. I added a custom dungeon to it, and now I’m sharing it with you all! Download it here:

I actually can’t believe that. This is such a pure channel with genuine passion and energy behind it, how could someone take advantage of such a good lad I’m in disbelief. So glad to see such a cool map come out of this situation though, and a positive sprout from a negitive. Such a talented builder!
it is sadly a normal thing at this time and age. people make commisions and pay and then retrackt or dont just pay at all, despite all the work/time got used for their stuff...
It also could have been a younger/naive user using their mom's CC, and was found out. Could have been a mistake. Sucks either way for Khaios though.
There are people who deliberately target the kind and generous people for scams to take advantage of their good nature and use the Internet to hide themselves away.
I've got some serious trauma from dealing with these kind of scammers in the past, and each time it happens it only hurts worse than the last
He tricked a guy that clearly has nothing better to do with his time into building a map on Terraria.....I wouldn't really call that "taking advantage of".

Sadly this is something that happens a lot to artists, paying trough paypal benefits a lot to the one making the donation in the sense you can "rembolse" at any time even if you have delivered your part. You have to ensure in a lot of steps to be safe from this, is a known scam to get free work.
@@Cubyhielo it was probably a kid that was trying to help Khaios but used their parents credit card. And their parents probably found out about that, and retracted the donation and blocked Khaios. That’s the only thing I can possibly come up with.
I know im a little late to the party on this but i just want to say how incredible it is that you can take a situation as horrible as that and not only make something amazing out of it, but something that you were able to share with others. I find the way you think to be genuinely inspiring and i wish you and your channel all the best for the future

Sadly not worth it, even if he's in the right. Unless were talking about amount above 100k. Sueing someone can easily cost you more than you get out of it. That's sadly the way the legal system works.
I won't disagree with you. But suing someone for being defrauded out of sum that probably even lower than 10k seems madness. Even the curt awards you legal fees can you end up with a netloss.
And there are no guaranteed victories. If you lose could even end up having to pay for the other parties legal fees.

The reason he calls it generic is because he is judging it from builder's perspectives. His house is indeed a simple build for most terraria builders, you can find a few examples on the forums or on the terraria reddit where they use everything they can to make their builds as good as possible.
There are even seasonal competitions with cash prizes for best builds, and some of the things people do make you question how it's even possible in Terraria.

Wow... this is probably one of the most amazing maps I've ever seen someone build in *anything*, let alone a game like Terraria. Like a few others, my heart sank after hearing what that guy did to you, after all of the hard work you put into this terrific setting. I can count the number of RUclipsrs on one hand that I know of that could turn something bad like that into a beautiful thing. I hope you get all of the support you need, and more. woah! This map looks amazing! I wish I had the patience to something of this degree. I really enjoyed the custom dungeon, really liked the secret door mechanic with the sticky bombs, I thought that was pretty creative. The mushroom farm and fishing ponds are really cool, and I only recently learned how you made each pond a different biome so close to each other. I overall really enjoyed playing this map and hope you had just as much fun making it!

Whenever I hear someone wanting to circumvent stuff like Patreon or Streamlabs, etc., I always take those with a grain of salt. Sucks you had to deal with it. It's never fun to have a carrot on a stick like that.
For me, I will hold their commission for ransom and not give it unless they complete their "promise". They block, I blacklist and report for fraudulent charges, then warn others about this person (best I can).

I don't really understand what happened with the patreon donation (I'm not that good hearing english), but i can see was very bad, so i'm sorry that happened to you.
Anyway, the map is amazing! I love what you do with the dungeon (It should be the official one!) and the mushroom farm is pretty cool. Like everytime, your buildings are real good and inspire me a little to do better than wood boxes xd.
He donated Khaios lots of money, so Khaios made a great build. He then took all of the money back and blocked Khaios, using up 18 hours of his time.
That beggining bit was the definition of sadness one of the worst things that could happen to a bolder is them getting scammed however it's nice to see that you managed to turn it around and make it better and it's also nice to see that you put it up for download I might download it and finish it up with some 1.4 stuff maybe even use it for some videos

My heart can take disturbing stories like this because I’m an artist too and when your voice cracked a bit in the video after the story I had to click off and come back because I was boiling inside... but I’m happy you turned such a low into a high with this very beautiful map stuff will get better for you for sure my dude I hope you feel better as well 😊
Dude, I saw a post of a build inspired by your work on a Terraria page I'm following on FB and since then, I subscribed after the first video of yours that I watched.
I thought some of my builds were at least passable, but for real, after seeing your work, I've realized calling myself a novice would be an overestimation. You are the MASTER. I have a long way to go, but I gotta say, you inspire me to create.
