      @@comparecars_org why would I keep a car past 50k miles? Anyway what did the motoring journalists all report about their Alfa press cars. That was it. They all had faults. It’s nothing personal just a reality. Take a few deep breaths and chill. As an Engineer I know all cars have faults just Alfa have more than others statistically relative to the volume sold. Before you blow another gasket, I’ve only ever owned one BMW which is my current M3 Comp which has been fine other than being hit from behind by an Alfa. (I suspect his brakes failed 😉)

      @@stephenlongfield8492 I don’t doubt you’re probably right. It doesn’t do them any favours giving members of the press, cars with issues. JLR is no better in this respect. I just enjoyed yanking the chain of somebody so biased that’s all. The G80 is very capable however many M car owners are reluctant to change due to looks, weight and cost. There are plenty of RUclips reviews showing just how capable it is against the Alfa and F80. I think the most compelling regarding the G80’s capability is Autocar’s review on track against the Alfa, a Honda Type R and AMG 45S. An unusual mix.

      @Marc Corominas I actually recommended the Alfa to a friend a few days ago after a dealer told him both the M3Comp and Alfa were dreadful cars due to the requirement to have some driving skill when pushing hard. In my opinion both are great it purely depends on what you prefer. It’s about splitting hairs when differentiating between them.

      I recently test drive the g80 m3, really wasn’t impressed and couldn’t wait to get back into my Alfa QV.
      It’s so much better to drive, better steering, much better transmission, sounds better and more supple suspension.
      It just feels more special, interior quality is slightly better on the bmw but nowhere near as much as car critics bang on about. I’ve done a video showing all the poor plastics in the new m3.
      The m3 just feels less exotic, no carbon bonnet, fake rear diffuser, no active splitter etc.
      Styling is subjective but there’s not many folk who’ll tell you it’s as good looking as the sublime Alfa

    Sorry Pete. I would still buy the Alfa Qv. BMW have taken 5 years to come up with an answer to it and in lots of ways they have copied it. But it is not as nice looking, and most people agree that the Alfa is still the better road car. It is more supple on the road and still more rewarding to drive with a better steering and a lighter and more agile feeling. This gives a better feeling of involvement that does not jar your teeth out over the bumps. I am sure the BMW would be the better track car but as most people drive on the road then what’s the point in that. The Alfa has everything you will need for road and with the same set of Michelin tyres it would be good in any weather. Most importantly you could save yourself nearly £20k on a new one or get a really good deal on a used one. Reliability would not bother me either as according to warranty company’s Alfa is now better than BMW. You seem to love and want every car you drive but seem to forget about your last favourite very easily!. I think you need to do a back to back comparison with the 2021QV on the road.

    • @rodhili3946
      @rodhili3946 3 года назад +1

      Agreed. All Alfa have to do, in the UK at least, is sort out the dealers. I've changed from Alfa to BMW because of the way I got treated by Alfa service departments. If only the dealers were as good as their cars

    • @PetrolPed
      @PetrolPed  3 года назад

      I agree with much of this. The M3 and M4 deal with the power far better. The diff is highly impressive and having driven all 3 with the same tyres and conditions would I think out perform to Alfa.
      I agree the Alfa steering has a better feel. BMW suspension is not jarring in Comfort. The Alfa’s price point is very appealing though 👍
      Not every car is my favourite. I try very hard to be objective. Have you driven either of these cars ?

I’ve not driven the new M3/M4 but our current Giulia Veloce Ti is a much more engaging car to drive than my old M4. Good review and I wouldn’t say no to one, it’s just I’d be more likely to say yes to the QF.

Moreover the fact that BMW puts as optional the carbon fiber in the front while in the Alfa it has been always on board is a bit put off. When I put my Giulia Quadrifoglio in race mode is like driving a kart, can almost feel you are steering directly the wheels with your hands, it's a unique sensation!

    The interior looked superb but, as a passenger in the back with carbon fibre seat backs and that leg room that's going to be mighty uncomfortable. Apart from that and the price, epic car. Loved the review ped.

    How is the comfort suspension on this car vs the last M3? The last one was too stiff, and that's why I chose the amazing Alfa which sucks up potholes like a Mercedes.

    I recently test drove the g80 m3, really wasn’t impressed and couldn’t wait to get back into my Alfa QV.
    The gearbox felt lethargic compared to the Alfa and the fake sound pumped into the cabin was so loud and awful it actually drowned out the exhaust even in loud mode.
    Obviously the tech in the bmw was far superior, but I don’t buy a car like this for that and I get in with the Alfa tech ok as it’s got all I need.
    The suspension felt fussy and overly firm for firms sake...It found bumps that my Alfa hides.
    Styling is subjective but there’s not many folk who’ll tell you it’s as good looking as the sublime Alfa.
    Overall the Alfa is the better experience as a road car, it also feels special and more exotic.
    Buy the Alfa, fit PS4S and the difference is phenomenal.
    The torque vectoring rear diff with decent tyres really works.
    Then have Celtic tuning code the exhaust to be fully loud in Dynamic and you are done.
    I actually had my engine and gearbox mapped too for 605bhp and even faster shifts, the chassis just loves the extra power and feels like it should have come from the factory like this.
    Both great cars ultimately and will certainly will entertain you. 👍

      Nah, Alfa is a last generation product. Great steering feel, good exhaust sound, nice aluminum shift paddles ... dated interior and infotainment, worse handling, not as composed chassis. Alfa beats the old F80 M3, not the new G80. G80 corners nearly like a supercar. It’s incredible.

    Hi Ped, I agree the M3 is more balanced than the M4 and as a result looks far better - also cheaper and more practical than the M4. Don't like the disappearing Hoffmeister kink on the M4 but I do believe that you have been converted to a BMW - certainly a far better drive than any Tesla. It also seems a trend now not to include under bonnet insulation. BTW, the way to close a BMW bonnet is to drop it from a height of about 18" not to press down on the outside.
