    About Dragon Age: Inquisition
    Dragon Age: Inquisition, or Dragon Age 3, is a role-playing game published by Electronic Arts and developed by BioWare. The game launched in November 2014 as one of the most anticipated RPG games. It was launched as the third major game in the Dragon AGe franchise and was released on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox one. Dragon Age: Inquisition takes place on the continent of Thedas, the same place where the original Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II take place.
    Backstory:
    The continent of Thedas went through many ages: the Exalted Age, the Steel Age and lastly the Dragon Age. At the time of the Dragon Age, a big outbreak of civil wars between werewolves and elves, templars and mages and dwarves and golems began. This led to the resurrection of the Grey Wardens, an elite class of Warriors.
    The area of Kirkwall is saved by the Champion of Kirkwall after is under siege by Qunari militans. This event brings an all out war between the Templars and the Mages. The war is eventually brought to a halt but tensions still remain between the religious and the magical. While negotiations are being made in the town of Haven at the Temple of Sacred Ashes, a big explosion falls from the sky destroying the temple, creating a Tear in the Veil, a magical barrier between the world and the Fade, the metaphysical realm. The Inquisitor must now close the Tear in the Veil and other ones opening up across the lands.
    Gameplay:
    Inquisition allows a player to choose from three playable races: Human, Dwarf and Elf. There are two forms of combat which include action role-playing and class role-playing. Acting as the Inquisitor, players position and prepare their team with party members and deploy agents and troops through advisors. Players capture forts and keeps to gain influence in areas of the world by defeating the players of the keep or forts.
    Reviews and Awards:
    -Received perfect scores from both Alexander Silwinski from Joystiq and Adam Beck from Hardcore Gamer
    -Game Informer listed Dragon Age: Inquisition as the most anticipated RPG to be released in 2014
    -According to EA’s earnings report, Dragon Age: Inquisition was the most successful launch based on number of units sold in Bioware’s history
    Transcript:
    The land of Thedas has had many ages; the Exalted Age, the Steel Age, and most recently the Dragon Age. During this time the land of Ferelden was caught up in an epic outbreak of darkspawn, civil wars between mages and templars, elves and werewolves, and dwarves and golems, and the resurrection of an elite class of warriors known as the Grey Wardens who are just as good at seduction as they are at fighting.
    Later the northern area of Kirkwall is under siege by Qunari militants, but is thwarted by the Champion of Kirkwall. This event creates a power vacuum between the Templars and Mages who are already 'raring for a fight. People are called names, important figures are assassinated, treaties are broken, and characters are seduced until finally an all-out Mage-Templar war breaks out.
    The war is eventually quelled, though tensions are still high between the magical and the religious. A few weeks later in the town of Haven at the Temple of Sacred Ashes, negotiations are attempted by the head of the Chantry. Before peace can be reached an enormous explosion rips down from the sky, destroying the temple and opens up a Tear in the Veil, the magical barrier between our world and the metaphysical realm known as the Fade. In the wreckage of the Temple, you are naturally the sole survivor. You should figure out why. On top of that, you seem blessed and/or cursed with an ability to close this tear and the other ones popping up across the world.

    1. Thedas has more than Exalted Age (5), Steel age (6), and Dragon Age (9), there were also Divine Age (1), Glory Age (2), Towers Age (3), Black Age (4), Storm Age (8), and Blessed Age (8) so far.
    2. I think the conflict between elves and werewolf couldn't count as "civil war" and they didn't really matter in DAI, Orlesian civil war however, now that's a different story
    3. Dwarves and Golem didn't EVER at war, it's the dwarves and the darkspawn perhaps that were always at war until now
    4. Grey Warden didn't "resurrect" in Dragon Age, they were only exiled from Ferelden at the end of Blessed Age but they were always there
    5. The Mark that the main character of DAI (Inquisitor) had is in his/her LEFT hand, not in the right one.
    and you know why the Grey Warden are good at seducing? because they were infertile, well except for one special case though.

    • @ANDELE3025
      @ANDELE3025 9 лет назад +11

      WW matter because... well notes in DA2 and DAI tell a chilling story of the WW curse slowly spreading both north along the coast and south.
      Golems and Dwarves do end up in a civil war if you make all the wrong decisions (Harrow+Branka alive+Chantry up), its just a credits mention, but its there.
      Functionally the 5th blight did rez the wardens as a actual power and not just pawns for the Orlesian court.
      Oh and wardens dont turn infertile... just the chances get vastly reduced.

      +Adnan RW it's unclear the real story behind the dwarf's has we are given really low information. yes we do go into Orzrammar, we meet legion of the dead and even The golems, yes in DAI we find a OLD race of Dwarfs who live from feeding on lyrim (dlc) despite dwarfs not being able to be mages, they have Dwarf Eathshakers. So Dwarfs are by far the race we know the least, if they were at war or not is unclear. It also seems that dwarfs are extremely resistent to the Blight taint, possibly for their resistance to the Fade it self being the blight tecnically a Fade desease

    What ressurection?
    The order is alive and well at EVERY SINGLE FUCKING POINT in the entire storyline, Ferelden Wardens are wiped out? Yes. But they're hardly representant of the Wardens real numbers, ever heard of Weisshaupt Fortress? Hell you lay siege and slay BY HAND dozens of Wardens in Adamant during DA:I. Learn the meanings of words dammit.
    I feel better now.

      Resurrection of the Fereldan order of Grey wardens, since they were nearly wiped out besides from the Hero of ferelden and Alistar. Otherwise there were other wardens in Orlais ye... Dragon Age Inquisition: Awakening is basicly all about the resurrection of the fereldan Grey wardens as you have people do the joining ceremony in that expansion :D
      Yay for lore!

    • @Costar58
      @Costar58 9 лет назад +1

      Dainn Greywall
      Since they never even referenced Awakening in this video (Architect much?)I'm still counting this as a fuck up. Besides, ressurection implies the order died out and has to literally come back from the dead and that's simply not the case since Warden Commander and Alistair (presumably) are still alive, restoration or rejuvenation would be a better word.

    • @Anergyne
      @Anergyne 9 лет назад +3

      Radosław Hołdys The Grey Wardens were banished from Ferelden by king Arland ages ago, and were only allowed back in by king Maric a few years before Origins started. The Order itself might have remained strong in other parts of Thedas, but in Ferelden it was basically gone for a very long time and only recently started rebuilding, with only a handful of them around when the Blight breaks out (and the vast majority of them slaughtered again at Ostagar).

    • @Costar58

      @Costar58 9 лет назад +12

      Enterprise0709 You do realise that this sends the wrong message?
      If you don't buy their games (even if they're good) EA will think that the games don't sell because people don't care for them, not because people hate them. Now if you buy their games and then "whine" on the official forums about how crap it is or how sh*tty a business practice is, then it MIGHT do something.
      Scream loud and long enough and eventually somebody will go look what all the fuss is about.

    • @LiveLXStudios
      @LiveLXStudios 9 лет назад +6

      Enterprise0709 Buy their games when they're actually good, then. Give them more reason to make good games. Like DAI. If you hate them so much, try to change them with your wallet instead of expecting them to disappear because you buy nothing. They're not going anywhere.

    the way its phase makes like it sounds like the Qunari were attacking kirkwall, which they werent. And that they were somehow in charge of the city, which they weren't. And that they were somehow part of the reason the mages and templars went to war, not really.
    The Qunari were "stranded" in Kirkwall for religious reasons. And as part of the people who has had intentions of conquering and converting all of Thedas to the qun, a kind of communist state? (hard to describe briefly).
    The Mage Templar war had tensions brewing for ages as mages were more or less locked up and put under guard of the templars in most of southern Thedas. But the most recent reasons for it, the destruction of a Chantry (a church) by a mage which killed a priest, and the revelation that a condition called tranquility could be reversed.

      No not at all. Your character comes from an outside perspective, and is sent in for various reasons. A dwarven or elven Inquisitor was sent to the peace talk by the the criminal cartel they work for or their dalish clan, respectively, in order to spy on the proceedings. A human Inquisitor's family is very devout, and decided to send them to the talks aid in whatever way they can. A qunari inquisitor is a Tal-Vashoth mercenary hired as a third party force to keep the mages and templars BOTH in line during the peace talks.

      Fabian Corrales You can honestly be anything you want in the game when it comes to opinions. You could be a templar who is against the chantry, or a mage who is for the chantry. It really is all up to you, but it does come with it's consequences that can be good or bad.

      @whitneyzhou1507 9 лет назад +2

      Hey dude, this website (dragonage.wikia.com/) should really help; it's got articles about basically everything that appears in the game. But for your questions here:
      Thedas is the continent the games take place in, ie the Tamriel of the Elder Scrolls series., so it's broken up into multiple nations, like Orlais, Ferelden, Nevarra, Antiva, etc which all have their own territories and cultures.
      The Tevinter Imperium is basically Thedas's version of the Roman/Byzantine empire crossed over with a magocracy. It used to be great a thousand years ago but has kind of fell into disrepair - it still has a fearsome reputation though, because it's well known for practicing slavery and dark magic. The Venatori are a group of Tevinters that aren't happy with the decline of their country, so they go around dicking with other people.
      Actually, all the countries of Thedas have real world analogues: Ferelden is sort of a medieval England, Orlais is France, the Anderfels are Germany, Antiva is Italy, and Nevarra is a sort of weird Prussian/Egyptian hybrid...
      King Cailan was the king of Ferelden, so that makes him king of Denerim too - it's the capital - until he got his chest caved in by an ogre 10 years before DAI.
      The Qunari are a group of people that all follow the Qun, a Confucian-type belief that believes that everyone has a role in society they should follow without question. All races can be Qunari, but usually the name refers to the race of tall people with horns and greyish skin. They actually only came to Thedas a few hundred years ago and started invading everyone in order to assimilate them into the Qun but got pushed back - TL;DR, they are their own people...
      And you should just read this: kotaku.com/a-beginners-guide-to-all-things-dragon-age-1658487212
      It's a better primer than anything I can come up with.

    I don't think Dwarves and Golems are fighting. I don;t think they EVER have. Golems are actually Dwarven soldiers (Or at least their souls.) trapped inside a big stone/metal hunk of indestructibility. Both parties did fight the Darkspawn in the Deep Roads, though. Constantly, since they arise above the ground once every Blight.
    Edit: Wardens never needed to be resurrected. They were there at all times, the thing is the numbers of Wardens dies down by the time the blight is ended, but it never goes away.

      @DainnGreywall 9 лет назад +9

      Meh, i'd love to argue against the GOTY thing... I found that Bayonetta 2 deserved it more... Since DA:I was a bit too meh... 6/10 7/10 being generous. side quests doesn't feel impactful as they did in some previous DA games and the only REALLY good thing about the game was the main storyline as well as the memorable and deep characters... Good things: the gameplay was alright, the tactical view is complete shit on PC, easily consoles to blame for that... and the general feel of the DA:I is more of an MMO more than a single player RPG....

    • @BaronVonHoovy
      @BaronVonHoovy 9 лет назад +10

      Dalish Elf Female is one of the default world states for DA2 and IS the default world state for DA:I, so it's also the default Bioware "Canon", if it can be called that. As far as Hawke goes, I'm pretty sure that Male Hawke is default in DA:I, and the number of ads with Male Hawke leads me to believe that's also "Canon" for players starting up later games.

    • @Norbioner
      @Norbioner 9 лет назад

      BaronVonHoovy There is no "Canon" in dragon age series

      BaronVonHoovy They did the same thing with Hawke as they did with Shepard: made all the promotional material about the default male character, and only mentioning the female one briefly near the end. I've no idea why but it's weird and a bit annoying.

      yes there is, the blight was defeated, the maker of the golems was found, the sacred ashes were found, wardens almost died out but didn't, the circle was filled with abominations, a demon took over the arl's son, and the elfs fought against werewolfs... thats all canon for the first game

THAT is basicly the only thing about this game that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. And all in all i dont give a rats ass about mp. Everything else was great and probably still will be so for a couple more plays with different choices and different DA KEEP details.

      Yes because Open World RPG was invented by The Elder Scrolls.
      It's not even that open-world it's modular, you travel via quick travel from location to location and it's impossible to "leg it" from Redcliffe to Val Royeux. Hell it's more Baldur's Gate than anything.
