great that it works for you, I was looking for more promising experiences(such as yours) as the sigma 16 is a pretty heavy lens!! if you could answer :) any restrictions/workaround you faced? what about the active track? (since it will add more weight)

3 of my favorite youtubers all uploaded a review on the Ronin-SC at the exact same time!, Tom's Tech Time and iPhonedo also did a great job. You all have different styles of presenting reviews, and I honestly love all of them. Thanks Parker for your quick review that always covers cover the options and key points. The active track is pretty tight, that rule of 3rds option is amazing for newer gimbal users. Hopefully they update Force Mobile so you can see what the camera sees through a software update.
I’ve been using this thing with my a73+cage & tamaron 28-75 and this thing handles it very well! Was shocked and I just discovered FPV mode so I’m loving it!

Bought Ronin S about month ago. A6000 was too light and induced shaking in gimbal Switched to a6400 balances easily. Still too light for perfect stabilization..... I'm lost as I want to switch to this but I do not know if this will be better ://
Hi Parker! my bf is a wedding videographer and I started working with him. I still have alot to learn but I do learn alot watching your videos and I also follow Kaylor, she inspires me alot too because just being a girl in this field that is dominated more by man inspires me to let go of my fears. My bf has a Ronin S and is super heavy and I just saw the Ronin SC at the DJI store and I loved it. What sold me out on it is not only that i lighter but also the Lock feature on the SC (my bf's ronin S goes crazy spinning on me when I grab it lol). My bf learned alot following you and and I'm learning too. I love your videos. I hope to meet you and Kaylor one day too! Hello from Phoenix AZ!!!!
Killer review, shame that DJI didn't consider weight distribution in the design of this. Mirrorless is small, but the lenses are usually pretty hefty and/or long.
It depends on what sort of shooter you are. The SC is clearly designed with shorter lighter primes in mind. I'm strongly considering this. The 28mm f/2.0, 35mm f/2.8 (until I get the new f/1.8), 55mm f/1.8, and even 85mm f/1.8 are all short, light, and compact enough to fully rotate. The whole point to me is to get smaller, lighter, and more compact (on not just this but all gimbals). The original Ronin-S and it's competitors (like the Crane Lab 3, and Air 2) are just way too heavy to consider for all day or travel shooting. I would say if you're shooting on zooms you already have 3 gimbal options, but you're going to need a bigger and heavier setup.
There's loads of excellent small lenses. Sony 28mm f2, 55mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, samyang24 f2.8 ect. If you intend to buy an f1.4 them this gimbal isn't for you.
@@Zetaphotography lmao good thing i can answer that now.. I came very far since than😭…looking back that question sound dumb af, I tried the sc and I would nvr buy it.. rather have the s all day
Any idea if these new software features will be rolled out to the Ronin-S as well? As a solo film maker the active track could be game changing for filling yourself
I love this gimbal. I have a Sony A7iii with a Sony 20mm F1.8G. It’s a perfect set up for me. I originally bought the Ronin S but took it back cause it was too heavy.
I ended up getting the Ronin SC mainly because I have a light Mirrorless camera (Canon EOS R) and I have a small canon 24mm lens. I won't be able to zoom, however, I realize later that I'm going to be moving around with the SC, so I don't need to zoom. So that is why I went with the Ronin SC. It saved me a lot of money and it did what I needed it to do.
i think ronin-S should have an update to include these features too. Else people who bought the bigger and more expensive device would felt betrayed by the brand
I am having A6400 + small rig cage + sigma 16mm i was going for crane 3 and then stopped thinking about Ronin SC ....Does it fit me? For one choice without considering the portability >>>> Ronin SC or Crane 3

Great video and inspirational channel Parker. Because of you and your videos I want to try Real Estate and Cinematic Stock Videography. I'll start with small budget, so thinking to get Sony a6300 (no IBIS) + some kind of stabilization. What would you recommend for stabilization for this or similar small and light camera, what are best budget friendly options around $200-450 for Real Estate filming? Is this new DJI Ronin-SC best option at this moment? I saw also your video comparison of handheld stabilizers.. Not sure what would bring nice professional results at the beginner stage - too difficult use or uncertain results can be discouraging..
As you can see from the video, the dude uses an iPhone with Bluetooth 4.0 . what makes it clear that there is no need for Bluetooth 5.0 for activetrack 3.0 and Force Mobile. This means that this is a temporary marketing feature for selling ronin sc!!!
I have the same question, I looked at the app and it seems like it's exclusive to ronin SC which is very disappointing seeing that I am an owner of the Ronin S.
You can but you would need to install focus motor and instead of attaching it to focus ring you would attach belt on zoom ring. If you change zoom during shooting manually it would very likely look crap. You can also shoot wider than 50mm and zoom in post. That would be the smoothest and easiest way.
As always Parker, your videos are amazing and I learn a lot from them. It would be nice to know if Ronin SC could support the same A7III + Tamron 28-75mm setup, but using the battery grip. The battery grip makes the camera a little higher maybe it could be a problem for the balance. I like this new Ronin SC. I will wait a little more. Thanks Parker Walbeck , Greetings from México....
