OMG!!! I saw Led Zeppelin there in 1969, and then later that night they were all falling-down drunk down the street at the Rainbow. Amazing it still looks much the same inside. I caught a whiskey flask that night that was thrown from the stage - still have it. You guys have presented so many great videos, but this is gonna always be one of my favorites. I have to attach a THANKS to this one - it is really special!

I was at the Whiskey back in the 80’s watching local hair metal bands. But what was memorable was in 2003 or 2004, my Ex boyfriends band played there and I was a dancer for their band. So, yes, I got to see the last band room you went to and dance on stage. It was surreal to say the least. I was so nervous. But what a rush it was. I miss living in LA. But Sunset Strip is not what it used to be. Thank you so much for sharing this awesome video. It gave me goosebumps and brought back memories. 🖤🐈⬛🖤🦇🖤⚰️🖤🧛🏻♀️🖤🕷️🖤🌹🖤
Wow! You guys have outdone yourselves again with another amazing video tour. I am a huge Doors fan, but, I have never seen such a thorough tour of the inside of the Whisky. 🚪🎸🎤🎃👻
This place is so iconic. I've been a metal fan since I was a teenager. My favourite band is LA Guns. Their album Tales From the Strip features The Whisky on the cover. I've seen videos of them playing there. And its not just them. So many bands I've ever loved were there. Idk, I don't think I'd ever have the words to fully express just how rad and amazing this place is.
I used to play the whisky all the time. I’d even go upstairs to the office to get my presale tix and one time the mgr there asked me if I’d play drums for and go on tour with Dustin “screech” diamond’s band. I agreed and he came to my moms house in Carson and we rehearsed one time but the tour never happened, but it was surreal to have him in my garage jamming with me lol
Michael and Jessica, you've excelled yourself yet again with another great video. What a venue, a place of legends and music history. And extra marks as well for the Doctor Who reference.
I’ve seen a couple great shows at The Whisky over the years. Goldfinger in 1997 and Cold in 2011 Wish I could go back in time to see the Doors here when they were just coming up. Just imagine seeing early Led Zeppelin there too!! It’s such a special intimate venue with so much history and mystique. Once again, always fascinating! Happy Halloween 🎃💚 🖤
This was great, really enjoyed the behind the scenes look at this legendary rock club. Jim Morrison, what a guy lol I can't imagine what it must have been like there during the club's hay day in the 60s and 70's. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into this part of rocks amazing history.
You forgot to mention the mighty Zeppelin! When they came to America the whiskey a go-go was one of the first concerts! And Alice Cooper was their supporting act!
#grimmlifecollective . I like all these bands, such as The Doors, Frank Zappa, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, Led Zeppelin, AC / DC, Van Halen, Metallica, Blondie, Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Jimi Hendrix, 45 Grave, many more you guys talk about, that is so cool this is still around when The Doors played at Whisky A Go Go, I am wondering if The Doors song called Alabama Song (Whisky Bar) name after Whisky A Go Go. Thank you so much sharing this with me, Happy Halloween!

Been playing there for more than 20 years almost all my life and it never gets old. Never thought I would sell out that venue with my band but we did in 2019! Will never forget it
Great video. One year ago, my 17 year old son and I made the drive from Vegas to see the Whisky. We are both big Doors fans. Unfortunately we got there in the afternoon and it was closed. As we were about to leave an employee walked out of the band load door. We told him we drove down from Las Vegas and he brought us inside and gave us a full tour of the building! We took great pictures and bought some t shirts. You can really feel the history and presence of the rock legends inside there. Unforgettable experience for my boy and I.
I've been on that stage so much. Tore the roof off that place dozens of times with huge metal bands. Some of the best shows I ever played were there. Better than arenas sometimes. Those more intimate shows can really pump!!
I was a roadie for a big regional band for a year and the coolest shows were always the smaller clubs. As you say much more intimate. The connection you get in those just don't happen in large venues like arenas.
Wow! Not only was this an insightful posting, the comments of people’s personal memories, and stories, of the Whisky, is well worth reading. So many people have so much respect, for Rock n’ Roll history.
Watching it now. As soon as I saw the notification for it, I put it right on. I'm a huge fan of Motley Crue, Guns n Roses, and many more. This is exciting! Love you guys!
Amazing! @ 20:32 yes! That is Ratt ❤ Everyone has a story here. I saw Ratt/stephen pearcy play here a few years back, I wanted to meet him so bad! i made upstairs backstage thanks to a crew member ( I worked at a different venue in Pomona so i pulled strings) @ 19:02 you’re standing in the room we were in!! So I approached Stephen pearcy, i kid you not he was chatting with Sabastian Bach and asked him for a photo ❤got a hug and made my way out. Best memory at the Whisky Go Go.
That was an awesome video, i live in Montreal, Canada and it's always been my dream to go there, the history that comes with it, so many bands that i love played there, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, RATT, Motley Crue, Guns 'N' Roses, Motorhead and the list goes on and on. Thank you for all the great work you guys do, i discovered your channel during the pandemic and i was going through some really tough health problems and you guys helped me alot!!! Keep up the good work!! 🤘😎🤘
As a Scotsman let me educate you on the spelling of Whisky. We invented it, it has always been spelt without an 'E', always. The Irish stuck an 'E' in there for their own brands of whisky, and you took on their spelling. So the Whisky A Go Go has the 'correct' spelling. You can thank me for that little snippet later lol. That aside, you're vids are fantastic, so informative, and I'm always waiting for a new one with baited breath. Keep up the great work you lovely pair of human beings. Love from London, UK.

Wow that was so cool! I live in Ohio and some of my favorite music is from the '80s from guns n roses to Cinderella to motley Crue, which happens to be my favorite band, and so visiting the whiskey has always been a dream of mine but unfortunately I don't think I will ever get the opportunity to see it in person. That's why videos like this mean so much to me because it gives me a personal look at it to the point to where I can almost feel like I'm there. And being that I will probably never get the opportunity to see it in person I want to thank you so much for allowing people like me to finally get to be there even if it's not in the physical sense. It's different than just looking at pictures of the place or watching a documentary that you might find on RUclips about it. I felt a very comforting sense watching this as if I was there so thank you guys for what you do and your contribution to the entertainment world! 🤘
Wow!!! Michael you and Jessica really out did yourselves with this one! The history of the Whisky is so vast and just down right interesting. I know it's hard to fit so much history into a 30 minute video. But you did a great job!!! Thank you for the rockin history lesson!
Man this video was awesome. Without the Grimmlife, I would not know as much about mysic history and movie as I do now. I really would love to sit down with Michael for a day and learn alot about HIStory ( like the plug? ). I always look forward to their videos and the Grimms have a fan for life. Always. Not gonna lie, the Grimms are my favorite RUclipsrs and always I'm in anticipation for the next video. Since my family will probably not make it to the places that the Grimms go to, with their videos its like we're there.

This has got to be on the list of most enticing interesting awesome Episodes I have EVER seen in my life! Including The Shining Episodes, as well. Really drew me into wanting to be there. In-the-Moment feel of a far away flashback historical dreamscape of nastalgia. Way you narrate and share each story, and how Baby Ghoul acts out the moments in each location; Just saying, you are both perfect at what you do, in my opinion. Love sharing your Episodes and telling everyone how spookilicous good these are. Really appreciate you, my friends..Thank you for being you. 💙 🎃 👻
I am into all sorts of music, primarily alternative - rock, metal, goth etc but of everything I’ve listened to thus far, The Doors have been most significant and profound to me. I know every note, every lyric and there isn’t a time that I listen to a song by them and not experience complete spiritual bliss. I just love them. Love, love, love them. 🙂

I wish i could give u 2 thumbs up, because this is the first time i have seen anyone go up to the third floor and show it. Thanks so much for that. First ive seen it, so amazingggggg!
Spent many Friday and Saturday nights in there back in the late 1960's . . . !!! Thanks for the tour . . . best show I ever saw there was Arthur Lee and Love. Legendary show. Saw many of the local bands like the Doors, Iron Butterfly, etc.

What an amazing video! Jessica looking beautiful as always. Much respect to both of you.
Thank you Chuck. Glad you enjoyed it.
Jessica looked majestic as usual. Happy Halloween 🎃.
Thank you for watching and for the kind words.
Always. Not gonna lie, the Grimms are my favorite RUclipsrs and always I'm in anticipation for the next video. Since my family will probably not make it to the places that the Grimms go to, with their videos its like we're there.
Thank you for this stellar video. I hope to get to your level one day!!
Dude such a magical place wish I was born in that era
Fabulous, as always Michael and Jessica take us to places we will never be able to see.
Hail yourselves, love you both, this was epic 🖤
Hey guys! I met you at HHN last year. I’m opening for Robby Krieger in Port Hueneme on Sept. 30th if you’d like to attend the show lmk! Would love for you both to be there.
Coming all the way from Edinburgh in Scotland to visit this place. Love the video and all the work you put in to bring them to us
I never knew that’s where Go Go dancing got it’s name from. That’s so cool.
It's amazing how you guys continue to make great content! Thanks for the videos. A year ago your videos really helped me keep my mind through a tough time. Thanks for taking us to all these places many of us would not be able to see! Happy Halloween!
"Watching a monster sleep" genius. When you guys write your book, that has to be the title! This was incredible. 💝
Great memories there. Was able to get into sold out shows as my dad knew the owners cousin.
Saw many of the local bands like the Doors, Iron Butterfly, etc.
when you walked on that stage brought huge goosebumbs THANK YOU!!!!!

Amazing Tour Yall! I would love to hangout in that place one day. Stories about The Doors and Jim Morrison never get old. Yall Rock! Great Video 😊
Love all that Doors stuff ❤
How cool to visit The Whiskey A Go-Go! Thank you for the visual tour! If I had a chance to go back in time to see one band there, I'd choose The Grateful Dead. They booked 6 nights to play @ The Whiskey from March 10-16th, 1967. How f'in cool would that have been to see!!!
