  • Hold it! This place is not for the faint of heart. Hideous experiments, unnatural sights and unfeeling steel permeate the air in this damaged, but otherwise active, laboratory. Our hero must step cautiously, lest he end up encased in a glass pod himself!
    This is a playthrough of Map18 - Laboratory on Ultra-Violence with 100% kills, items, and secrets attained using DSDA-Doom.

    Lab guards are cool! Nice application for the SS replacement!
    Something in the Cave? That's the title of the Bjorn Lynne MIDI! And it does fit the creepy laboratory theme very well!

    The lab guards always struck me as either collaborators or cultists. I kinda wish they showed up earlier in the wad, though, to show not all hostile humans in this world are zombified. Mansion would've been a good map to debut them in, as the titular mansion seems to be worth guarding.
    (I tried giving these guys the "high caliber rifle" projectile attack of Eviternity II's former corporals, just for modding practice, and it worked even more beautifully than I expected.)

    Wow! Laboratory is a fascinating map that I like. Lab Guards are very funny to look at here. Hmm.....no doctor's huh? 🤔Would've been nice to have them as well though. That's just on me. Yeah overall I really do like this map quite alot. Might my top 5 favorites maps here. 😄

    Wow! It's kinda weird how the Cacodemons you kill give off the same human scream as the Lab Guards you shot. Anyways, it's also kinda weird how the portals and conveyor belts give off health items, health and armor bonuses, barrels, and sometimes enemies! What a weird lab!

    Those lab guards remind me of the space soldiers from the Megawad "Epic 2." They also replace the SS Wolfenstein enemies as well. They're tough to spot because they're partially invisible and can sneak up on you to get a couple of hits until you take them out

    Those lab guards reminded me of cultists. They are similar to those scientists in project toten eisenritter. Still they reminded me of the rebels in strife velocity

    Cool as the aesthetics are, I think it would have been cooler if those enemy pods did open up more. Map definitely feels a bit too easy for a late game map, IMO. It's way more interesting than the last two maps though.

      Regarding difficulty, Jaska really doesn't follow a standard curve. He tends to make his maps more for eyecandy than challenge.
