I prefer to take the two blades apart, clamp them down to a work bench and sharpen them with a fresh flap disc on a angle grinder (no, it will not overheat, if your disc is not worn down and you don't take away more material than neccessary). After sharpening all of them on both sides, I use a fine whetstone on the flat side to take away the wire edge and in the same run take of dirt and debris. It might seem a bit daunting to take it all apart with all the screws and moving parts, but just take your time.
You Get a better even flat surface contact with blades with a file but takes longer and takes to much metal of with power tools.dremal grinder with flap wheel etc.
So what would you suggest using then to lubricate the hedge trimming blades? WD40 is good for cleaning the blades and removing excess bur left behind from filing.
Excellent, simplicity and efficiency in one easy chunk of advice.
it is good to see that it isn't necessry to take it apart to sharpen the blades!!!!!!!

I wondered about taking it apart; I would prefer to avoid that if possible.

I remove the blades on my Stihl HS56 and it's a much easier job. I do it the way you do if I'm on the job and need a touch up.
That is what I was thinking. This looks like the down and dirty touch up job. Not really professional.
Faster and easier to use a dremel.
I found the best way to sharpen my hedge trimmers and get everything trim looking very good is to call a gardener
How did the sharpening turn out on the job? I saw a large improvement after you went through and cleaned up the echo.
It made a lot of difference, definitely worth the time.
Always keep a dremel in the trailer.
You might want to try filing the other direction
Nice work
Thank you 😊
So you only sharpen one side of the tooth looks like other side cuts also
For demonstration sake I only sharpened one side but you want to sharpen all the cutting edges.
Seems like you are filing upside down but if it works I trust you.
Nice video thank you
I fell asleep ......you were saying?
WD-40 is NOT a lubricant.

Why didn't you sharpen both edges of the cutting tooth? Also, never use WD-40 on hedge trimmers unless you want too kill branch ends.
Looks like it would make a pretty nifty torture device if they had them in the middle ages! 😬
should file the other way
roll the burr to the top
hi mate what do that guards do
Prevents damage to the tip from getting it too close to the ground.
6 video I watch where they sharpen the tremors but don't go outside and show you how great they cut the bushes
Hey mate, you've got sharpening from wrong position. It should be vice versa - not filling from the side you are doing. Absolutelly unprovessional.
You can tell when someone is a rookie
Ik use a Dremel WTF this guy just tried to waste our time
G CLAMP
Looked a bit dodgy when he started it up to try it , a little close to his legs.
Softwheel grander half the time
Just get to the point..
Too much verbosity.time waste.
