I’m so sad she doesn’t ship to Canada
It's a pass for me due to budget - But I'm planning to knit a striped swimsuit for my dolls. I'm a vintage Barbie clothing collector and I have one of the 1959 original striped swimsuits and they were made of a very stretchy almost handknit-like material, so I think knitting my own will be a lot more authentic (and definitely cheaper) than this Swarovski-incrusted situation. A good compromise!
I've seen them for sale on Etsy too.

As cute as this collaboration is, as cheap as I am, I would try to DIY this doll! (Minus the expensive crystals! I’d do faux gemstones)!
Do we think they'll do the peaches n cream doll as an ag doll next year? On Instagram I'm seeing a lot of support for it.
Why is she $300, Mattel owns both companies...?! I won't be getting her, I'm not really a fan of this doll.

I have always been hoping for a barbie and AG collab, so this is exciting for me. Although she's really pretty I won't be buying her due to price.
She’s sold out. She sold out right away. I was able to purchase her as a Berry member, but when my sister went in to purchase her too she was already gone.

Sophia How do people get those Limited Edition dolls to ship to Canada? It’s like 400 bucks in Canadian. All the Limited/Special edition from American Girl never ships to Canada?!
Hi, maybe Sophia can add something else, but I’m also in Canada, and I don’t know why they don’t ship the special editions here. I was looking into how to get one sent to a freight forwarding service in the US that would then ship to me in Canada. However, it would add to the cost, and to the risk of it maybe getting lost, so I haven’t tried it.
Some people have US friends or family that can get it for them and then mail. There is also buying on eBay from a seller who ships to Canada, but that is going to be more expensive because they will charge more for the doll in addition to the shipping. So, I think we are kind of out of luck in this case.

She’s the replica of the first Barbie doll.

Kind of a hot take but I’m borderline ready to boycott these collectors dolls bc why the heck did AG release literally SIX in one year. Who, in this economy, can keep up with that? And the quality for that price is quite frankly not justified IMO. It makes the dolls feel so much less special and anticipated when they release so many in just a years time. Obviously people are buying them like crazy since they keep having releases, but it’s still just baffling to me. If you were to buy just 4 out of the 6, that’s literally $1200 without taxes. I don’t know how to feel about it anymore.
