It's seem every Quincy child is a momm's kid. Karin and Yuzu as well.
The thing that gets me about Isshin is that he openly admits that he doesn't want to lose everything, but he'd do it for Masaki anyway. There's so many times this type of scenario comes up in anime but the characters act without thinking; Isshin clearly realized exactly what he was doing.
He is captain anyway so he should be smart (especially he is captain of 10 division who has many job not only for military)

Everything But the Rain flashback is one of the best flashback stories in anime really incredible
100%. Bleach comes back after a decade and dominates the anime world
turn back the pendulum is my favorite arc in bleach and its also a flashback this ep just makes it even better to me.

Idk why but it reminds me of the homely vibes like in the rezero flashback with his mother. Caring mothers are special creatures.
I'm a humbly disagree and say the first flashback with Aizen and Tousen bodying Everybody was the best one.

The way isshin describes misaki is so beautiful.
So when Ywach was defeated a thousand years ago a prophecy came about, the one with all the 999's in it that said eventually he would restore to full power. 9 years ago he regained part of his power and he selected to kill off the impure blood Quincy's to regain it. Uryus mom was impure blood so she had her powers taken and ichigo's mom was tainted with Hollow so she had her powers taken. But because ichigo's Mom was originally pure blood she survived the selection process whereas Uryus mom was impure and was weaker and didn't survive. Basically having your power stripped from you as a Quincy hurts a lot and you got to be tough to survive. Had Masaki had her powers taken at home she probably would still be alive right now.
Uryu mother was really sick and her powers taken away was enough to killed her. She didn’t died cause she wasn’t a pure blood Quincy.

Isshin and Masaki are so adorable together, so loving and radiant.
I'm starting to think Getsuga Tensho is just a sword technique passed down in the Shiba Clan.
The sad part is that a Quincy soul is erased when consumed by a Hollow, meaning Masaki’s soul is permanently gone, no resurrection or afterlife. So Ichigo can never see her at all.
Anything is possible haha in anime
We don't necessarily know that especially considering the whole show is about souls and the afterlife so she had to have gone somewhere after grand fisher was killed by isshin
@@henryvirtum1520It stated that Hollows are poisonous to Quincy souls, ergo being devoured by one does not help her situation regardless.
@@ghostspider2056 doesn't necessarily mean her soul would cease to exist it just implies hollows are vinegar and quincy are water they don't mix.
@@henryvirtum1520 Urahara said it causes the Quincy soul to commit Soul Suicide when they are mixed.
I love how EBTR and how Isshin and Masaki meeting was a ‘prequel’ and ties up how Bleach started - Ichigo and Rukia meeting and how their story was one of destiny (as written by Kubo). The way they met was the same, the circumstances of their meeting - a shinigami saving a ‘human’ where the human then put themselves in harms way to save the shinigami. And most obviously the “Yo, I’ve come to save you” which was basically exactly the same. It truly does show the DESTINY part of the two characters would drive the story forward.
It’s a shame that not many ppl understand the importance of Everything But The Rain and the lore/motifs behind it- especially what the rain represents in the story. The parallels are as clear as day and so beautifully shown whilst incorporating and ‘rewriting’ some of the most important (and iconic) moments in bleach along with it’s important motifs.
Establishing the destiny, human & shinigami, significant event under the rain, sacrificing themselves for the other and soul bonding themes.
The message the story was giving us was that an event of that type (meeting + bonding) results in a world changing event itself. Bleach isn’t your typical Shounen is you truly read it properly, Kubo does a fantastic job in this way of writing
Ryuuken and Katagiri‘a union in the rain made the ep for me🥹👏🏻
This comment! 👏🏻EBTR is a hidden gem in Bleach. I also love the symbolism and the parallels between Isshin and Masaki's meeting to Ichigo's and Rukia's. These two destined meetings spanning two worlds and two generations are beautiful in their significance to the story. Once again we have opposites who change each others' worlds and a bond that cannot break. I'm not usually into battle shounen but Bleach is unexpectedly beautiful in its subtleties and poetry.
Also the Ryuuken and Katagiri rain scene is just chef's kiss. It's one of my favorite scenes in the whole manga and I'm glad the anime did it justice.

I loved Isshin and Masaki’s relationship! This was so epic and romantic! Ichigo finally knows his whole story, this was such an amazing first season!!

Yep the way isshin hold masaki was the same with ichigo saved rukia
I loved how they depicted Yuha to be more of a monster rather than anything else in the end with this one, kind of like the creeper from jeepers creepers, being able to be reborn and sht as well as stealing all the other quincy's abilities making them kind of vulnerable to his very existence...especially with those illustrations from Uryu's book. That was good stuff.
Cour 2 of Tybw will begin in 7 months for those wondering, they released a trailer and date after the episodes were released.
Actually Isshin tells Masaki that hes there to protect her, in fact using the same kanji they use for Ichigo's name (the one who protects) and its the same one Ichigo uses when he swears to Orihime than he will protect her. That one ichigo and rukia scene he says that hes there to save her, not protect her. Even though the scene its quite similar, the message of it leans more towards ichigo and orihime's relationship than rukia's rescue
Yes, because when he saved Rukia, he throws her to Renji, saying that it was Renji's role to protect Rukia. He just did what Renji couldn't do because of his lack of power at that time

The parallel to the scene of Isshin-san saving Masaki... which looks like the scene of Ichigo saving Rukia, the difference being Masaki-san looks like Inoue... then this also parallels to Ichigo saving Inoue after the battle with Grimmjow... hmm, interesting...
i felt sad for Ishida's father because he broke her heart and lost the girl he loved because of Quincy's laws
