That’s what I did.. I wanted the pack for the hairstyles and outfits, but didn’t want to see the werewolves. 😂

I see the DJ and Music Production Skill as complimentary as in real life they would be. You could totally rags to riches with DJing. Most DJs would own their own at home mixing equipment of some sort. So obvs you’d mix for tips until you could afford your own DJ equipment where you could practice the skill and produce music at home for royalties. Add in the fame system and you could turn on fame which opens up more possibilites for income and you can be a DJ who goes from rags to riches. It is a long stretch goal skill. But I like it as I think painting is over powered and I like slower paced more leisurely career advancement. I have a Sim who I am working up to famous DJ status.
I understand the game-I-fying of skill restriction (like if I just DJ and zoom in on the DJ skill how much can I make) and I appreciate it as an experiment but story telling wise DJ work for a musically inclined Sim is one of my favs.
Came here for this comment, I knew multiple people who did some DJing and they would all make “songs” or whatever at home that they then play at parties among the rest of the music from other people, until thwy had enough own music basically
@@Sukuzilu yeah the couple of DJs I knew got into various areas of music production and media production in the stretch of their career. By the time you're 40 you don't want your only way of making money to be parties and club gigs, even if you still do it occasionally because you still tend to love live music. Both of them also played keyboard and I think one of them played one other instrument (I forget).
I believe you can license one item per week from each skill. So if your sim plays guitar and does dj mixing then she could license a guitar song and a dj mix each week. Add piano, violin and pipe organ and you can license songs almost every day. There's just the little issue of mastering all those skills!

I always put Mail box on community lots, bars, clubs . And shift click on it to fill household needs when playing as a DJ. Or anything else to keep needs in the green. And especially if I have a toddler at home while I am away doing the jobs you can interact with. Saves my sim having a break.

In the settings there’s an option to select werewolves restricted to moonwood mill. Hope this helps ❤️

I keep telling people that DJing is one of the fastest ways to gain fame but they don’t believe me😭
The reason I don’t have the Get Famous or Wereolves or Vampire packs is because of how distracting it is when the characters that come with those packs are when you’re out and about.
Your DJ reminds me of Carmen from The L Word.
I believe you earn more money when you are more famous so putting on your disguise may have hindered your finances.

You can turn off the raging werewolves in your game options menu. Then pack settings and scroll down. I had to do it with the stupid dust stuff. Shouldn’t have bought that kit.
Does the fame disguise reduce the size of tips? And doesn't fame have the option to "rally the troops" that gives everyone fuller needs?

I used to be able to hear the music when I played making a track. I can’t hear any music now when I use the media production machine.
There's good money in the media production. That little machine, once you sell a few a company picks you up then as long as you turn in one everyday they won't drop you. My sim made over 3K a day doing it. (You probably already know all this, I just have to tell what I know). LOL It does take more than a week to do it though.
I don't think that it would be possible to go to college and do the DJ job. The sim wouldn't be showing up for class, never mind doing the homework. Major LOL!

The DJ system is the dumbest programming that I've seen from Maxis. I can gain the DJ skill by watching a DJ artist. But I can't go to a public DJ booth to practice the skill until I purchase my own DJ booth. I can probably guarantee everyone that there are probably real-life DJ artist who record their public sessions without any issues. Maxis goes out of their way to make things useless and frustrating. They did the same thing with the doctor's career. There's a skill where the doctor can touch a pregnant sim's belly and tell what sex the baby will be. But pregnant sims can't go to the hospital until they are in labor. The doctor can't use the skill unless they are working at the hospital. And what pregnant human beings who are in labor are going to care about the baby's sex? Maxis gives these really interesting things that a player can use and then makes it frustrating, useless, and aggravating. I can understand their thought process. There is no real-life doctor who can feel a pregnant woman's belly and tell anyone the sex of the baby. But, this is doable in the Sims 4. But it's utterly pointless because of some twist sense of realism?
