planning out your sims acting career from when they were born is SO different its kinda funny. my sim was in drama club, graduated early, perfected her acting and charisma skills in college studying drama, was streaming while in college so she had 3 stars when she started acting, rose to the top of the fame ladder in a week, and now brings back 50k each gig to her wife and child

I’m about halfway through the video, so you might have already figured this out. But to research emotions for the acting career, just select your sim, and you should have an option that pops up to research the emotion you need. It’ll put you in the correct mood 😂

I don't even mind that you can't get a promotion every day. What I do mind is how long the daily tasks in some careers take.
I love the careers that take longer. It really makes it worth it to raise Sims in game because all the time you spent raising them and carving and crafting their interest pays off. If I make an adult in CAS they always reach elder and retire before getting anywhere near tops of their careers. But Sims born and raised in game tend to do pretty well.
I love this game. Only in the sims can you have a rampaging werewolf run across the screen and just get no acknowledgement as if it were an everyday occurrence. And lose the lottery to a horse. That's great too.
as someone who likes to binge through your videos while playing the sims myself, nearly two hours of brand new content is a real treat

Still culling my mods since crystal creations patch day (don’t even have the stupid pack) so playing sims is on hold in the few hours I have after work. I’d rather watch Carla play anyway, can do that on my break. It’s not that the game is good, it’s that Carla is a great story teller. 😅

Tip for the emotions, I like to use the easel and make flirty, angry, focused paintings when I have the emotions and enable the emotional aura for the different emotions I need :) so if you are like me and don’t have the lamps from Sims 3, this will help!

You can change agencies on the phone! This way is how you get some different gigs.

When you couldn't get her angry, sometimes you can click your sim and an option comes up that says research angry emotion
Send your sim to Sim College for Acting.. aka the DRAMA degree, which puts you starting at level 8 in the career.. you will still need to continuously gain more and more FAME as you go, because its not just about how far you move up to hit Level 10 in advancement, but also the fame you are at because the higher the fame, the more money you also make.. and depending on the fame points you get you can also progress in fame PERKS.. which at some levels really doubles your pay for a days acting.. which happens when you are a 5 star actor or actress and have selected the fame perk of EASY STREET!! I often will simply play a sim from HS through graduation, off to college, and finish that, then off to acting, and advance to full 5 star actor or actress, all maxed out.. well even when you hit level 10, you continue to get higher pay every time you go to the next acting job.. I do also use a mod which is higher acting gig payouts and royalties.. so not only does the pay for gigs are higher, but also get Royalty payments for each gig I have done.. have actually gotten having ran the acting career with a sim to 250 million Simolians .. I do say, I think I have the record of the Most famous Sim in the history of the Sims Franchise..
Love how your SIM is always in workout gear for "Actor" job, just like mine. I think I was always working out in mine. I do love that perk you get for no auditions, because you also get to wear whatever you want. So, you can design your look before the gig. Makes it really fun to play dress up.
Youre honestly the only sims RUclipsr who i can stay engaged with when they're playing, ty for spoiling us with a long video!
just a tip! when it says research x emotion, you can click on your sim and it will come up with the option “research x” ( x meaning the emotion) and it will automatically make your sim that emotion :)
You're my fav creator for TS4 lol I love your attitude when you approach one of these challenges/characters, and the way you keep it entertaining is seriously the best part. Thank you for keeping it real! That's so hard to find in creator's nowadays. Too many people put on a front for the camera and you can clearly tell. IMO, it's better when the creator is authentic...and you, my dear, exude authenticity through your videos. Love it!
05:55. Not worth it? That perk is amazing. Normally my Sim would have to do an audition on one day and the acting on the next. With this perk he can go instantly to the acting and then afterwards get another acting for the very same week. This hugely speeds things up.
And bring paid $30.000 per acting didn't hurt either. 😁
That was the best argument for "Hotdog - is a sandwich... yes or not?" that I ever heard. haha

Thank you for the video! I love watching your videos,and find myself binging your storylines like Netflix. From one simmer to another, there was one tip I wanted to share with the acting career. As you get promoted enough, you use your phone and go into the career panel, you can switch your talent agencies there. Once you switch to a better talent agency, you actually gain a lot more fame and other perks (like bouquets and flowers with grandma agency, etc)with each gig, and some of them pay even more bonus pay. I hope that tip helps if you ever do decide to play with acting again.

Not sure if Brit has already done this (couldn't find it in her playlist) but how about an "experiment" to see which is the quickest way to become famous. I wonder because I had a sim I wanted to be a photojournalist but the closest I could get to it was to take photos of his holiday trips, upload them all to Simstagram then sell them to a publication. His fame shot up and within 1 Sim day he was a 3 star celeb! This was much quicker than any other route I have tried (granted, it would have taken longer if he had posted the photos after each holiday instead of all together), anyone found a faster one? (He wasn't posting to social media either so that might have increased the speed if he had) xxx
MCCC is such a blessing. I made it so skills go up a bit faster along with careers. It's a godsend with the super sim challenge that I've been doing. Also, this video is almost 2 hours and I LOVE it! I can never get enough of your humor!

When you see a Sim with way too many items on and in their hands you can use MCDresser and at the bottom of the list it says remove all accessories and it takes it all off of what they're wearing.

The Connections rewards store perk can see your sim start at level 4 for any job and the Entreprenureal trait helps get promotions faster. I do agree that without them the actor career takes ages.

I really loved this. Have never done the acting career to its full extent. I think I got all the way up to just working in bars basically and doing a couple of commercials. After that I was frustrated but thanks so much for doing this. This was very enlightening and it makes me want to go back and start a new Sim and try to go through the career as well.

I forgot which video you asked this question on, when you mentioned "Sweet Caroline" and classic karaoke/bar songs that everyone sings along with. I was born in DFW and chiming in on your reference to the honky tonk classic that says "Why do you drink? To get drunk!" -- it's "Family Traditions" by Hank Williams. It's hilarious that you knew Texans would know the song instantly. 😂 I don't even listen to country music but have definitely heard it at random karaoke nights in country dives.

I've tried some fame careers and didn't get far either. One used a drone to make videos but I kept losing track of it. I'll try again after watching this. I'm only halfway through and already feeling ambitious. :)
I think you could have called the dead fiance to come over and practice acting. He could show up as a ghost and still be useful.
Your celebrity rank probably would have gone up along with the skill for acting if she were active with fans, promoting herself at events, all that stuff. I guess its not enough to be a great actress, you have to make sure people are fawning over you too.
It was long to watch but I'm glad you went through it all so I could see how it works. Now I just need to find a few good outfits and pick a hairstyle.

I was wondering why it took me zero effort to get to level 10...... I just remembered my sim had went to college and already had level 10 to acting, charisma and singing. Basically the things that I could think of that would help boost things along I had her do as she grew up.
