    Yes loved the birdsong! They were so relaxing to listen to, especially during dragon pose. Is it normal to have strong sensations in your wrists and arms during this pose? It's a doosey of a pose. Phew! Peace and Namaste Aprille, thank you so much! 🙏🏽🧘🏾‍♀️

      So glad you enjoyed the practice and the location! Because you are holding yourself up with arms, you will most likely feel quite a bit. However, if it is too much, you can use blocks under your hands or a chair to lean on so there is less weight. Have a great day - Peace, Aprille

    Thanks for the terrific class. Loved the birdsong! I have a question about the supported fish like pose at about 25:00 in the video: I find it hard on my neck and shoulders to have the blanket perpendicular, what about changing the blanket to be parallel with the spine so my head is more level with chest, easing the neck? Another question about the twist pose at about 35:00, if the legs are crossed opposite the usual, does that significantly change the effect---such as hips shift to the right ---left leg over right instead of the usual right over left? Thanks again for the great class!

      Kathy, you can take the blanket down the spine but it has a different opening effect (more chest opening left/right versus top/bottom). You can slide your shoulders off further the roll across, unroll it slightly so it is less rounded and lifting and/or add a blanket/towel doubled up under your head and neck (you can roll it slightly to fit in the curve and this takes some of the pressure off). I use both directions in different ways depending on what I am trying to achieve. (In this video it is meant to activate the thyroid more).
      Do you mean going the same direction? We always want to twist to the right first so in a supine position, that means the legs go to the left first. If you are asking about taking the inner leg over the outer - very different effect as this will stretch the outer hip less moving the twist into the back and side body more while crossing the way in the video focuses on the calves some and much on the IT Band and outer hips down to the knees. I use both twists in practices but for different reasons and effects.

    Thanks for the quick reply. Although I need thyroid work also, I did have open heart surgery as a kid, and maybe all the scar tissue in my chest is aggravated with the perpendicular support. I suppose both ways are beneficial?

      You are so welcome! Both positions are very beneficial. I might suggest you try the roll down the length of the spine for 1/2 the time and then switch positions. I sometimes find that the roll lengthwise first opens the chest for the roll across to be more comfortable : ). Have a great weekend and thank you for asking about these things.
