Once again Aprille I have to show my appreciation for your teaching and practice. I have been challenged in my lower back and SI area for 3.5yrs. Yet it is this practice (along with recent challenges with my left hip) that I have come to learn that I have not been mindful with my poses, which in the past caused many flare ups and a fear of doing any physical activity. However, since finding you some 6 weeks now. I mostly do one of your videos everyday, which has helped in my recovery and keeps my mind positive. I have one more week at home and then I will be back to work (phased over 4 weeks). Albeit in the short term will have a walking aid for support, I will continue to follow your channel and update you on my progress. I really from the depth of my heart thank you for being apart of this phase of my life. Thank you so VERY much for your time and effort in preparing these videos for without them I don't know ........ from the UK I send you a massive cyber hug xXx
Thank you Paula and I am so grateful to you for sharing your story and recovery with me! I am happy to hear you are on the mend and I wish you full healing and health. Good luck on your return to work and keep positive - you are clearly on the path of healing. My best wishes to you and thank you for being such a wonderful and supportive member of this beautiful community. Peace, Aprille XXX 🙏💖🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much for explaining the difference for people who suffer for SI joint issues such as myself. You explain things that even my PT didn't tell me that was making me worse. I would suggest for us older gals, wear something a little lighter in color - hard to see how you had your legs with blue pants on purple mat and black shirt almost at the black mat - maybe a view from a different angle so we can see how your legs are a little better - I'll watch again and listen carefully to see if I can figure it out though. :) Thank you, God bless you. You really encouraged me saying you went 2 years without a flare up - I've been at this for over 6 yrs and it's all but ruined and depressed me - lots of docs don't understand SI issues - so they treat for EVERYthing else and I've been a guinea pig. I haven't gone more than a couple months in that time - determined to get here esp w your help! :)
You are very welcome Jenni and I would definitely recommend you start a journal to track your flareups and even when you feel twinges of it coming on so you can start working on a plan for care. Sensing it early when it just starts to twinge can be super helpful in preventing a full flare up and taking special care of it. I wish you health and healing and have a great week! Peace, Aprille
I hope some of the suggestions help or at least give you some ideas. I know how painful SI injury can be and as there is no known cure/treatment for remedying it completely, it's something to work with long term. Wishing you healing and relief - Peace, Aprille
I am so glad it works for you (I have SI joint issues as well and working with it has been over a 4 year time). I wish you health and healing and THANK YOU so much for joining me today! Peace, Aprille
This video has saved my life I've tried everything. Doctors, medication, physiotherapy. I do this same one twice a week and it's keeping me relatively pain free from an injury.Thankyou so much for sharing your knowledge.🙂
I have been struggling these last 6 weeks. I have gone to Over a half of dozen people in the medical field, with everyone telling me something different is wrong. I came across this video over a week ago, have been doing this 2 to 3 times a day. This is the ONLY THING that’s giving me realise 🙏🏼💜 Thank you for this🙏🏼 Forever grateful !
I am so sorry to hear you have been struggling with this but happy to hear this practice has helped. I have a new class coming out in June working with SI issues as well and a few more shorter (10-15 min) classes you can use for relief too coming soon. Wishing you health and healing - Peace, Aprille
Thank you so much for all your classes. You are my hero😊. You are in my living room every other day and helped my so much! Greetings from a rainy Holland.
Many thanks and much gratitude Aprille, not only was this a wonderful practice but I learned so much. I appreciate your teaching; always gentle, always supportive and always informative. X 🙏
Thank you Susan! I really appreciate your taking time to let me know how this practice worked for you (I sometimes wonder if I put too much information in there). Thank you for joining me and have a wonderful and peaceful week! Namaste, Aprille 🙏💖
You are so very welcome Brianna and I hope you feel better soon (check out my Restorative Yoga for SI joint too if you need another practice). Thank you for joining me!
Aprille you are amazing. I love your voice, your cats and your place. So relaxing. I have been suffering with this for 3 years. You name it i have done everything for it. It has robbed my life. I am active and i love to walk do aerobic but since this problem it has been furstrating. Last month i had a stem cell injection and i am still waiting to get better. I have come across your you tube and have done this 35 minute session and i woke up different this morning. I did not have much pain. I will be following you and doing all your exercises. Thank you again for doing this.
Susanna - Thank you! I am so sorry to hear you have suffered from this and I know how you feel. I struggled for years and every doctor told me nothing was wrong. I finally met a wonderful physical therapist/yoga teacher who helped me fully understand what was going on and how to work with it! I wish you healing and take care of yourself. I do highly recommend keeping notes on positions, days, things you think might be causing it to flareup as this is how I managed to diagnose and work with mine so I now have it flare up once a year if that often. Healing to you....Peace, Aprille & cat crew : )
Thank you for taking g the time to respond. The back of my left tigh is where I feel the pain. It has been also difficult to bend and go up the stairs. I am also noy sure what flares it up . The pain is like a continuous dental pain
So glad! Thank you for joining me today and I hope you continue to feel better and better. I also have a Restorative Yoga practice for those days you feel a flareup and want some extra self care here: ruclips.net/video/SWsZgITVuVs/видео.html
I've had a weird twinge in my right hip/hamstring, I've done lots of pilates, yoga, etc. It's still consistent. When you described where the SI was, I knew it was definitely in that area. Hopefully it'll get better after this video!
You are so welcome! You can also add turmeric, ginger and black pepper into more of your foods - just begin with lower amounts to get used to it. And if you haven't tried golden milk, check it out (recipes on google but basicly milk, turmeric, cinnamon, and sweetener but you can add ginger too).
Very much enjoyed this lower back focused practice. The pace is excellent to help really get into the area. Also enjoyed all the information you provided throughout the practice. Helps to build understanding and manage movements properly in everyday life. Thank you Aprille.
Thank you Grace - I wondered if it was too much information at the time but having suffered with this condition for over 5 years - I want to offer ideas on what people can do to really work with this area and care for it. Thank you for joining me and have a fabulous day! Peace, Aprille
I never knew I had an SI injury up till now. This explains a lot of my pain, which I have been dealing with for years! The poses in this class really helped. Thank you for your class(es), the tips and your calming voice. I really like your channel
I’ve found your amazing practice on you tube since we’ve been on lockdown in the UK, I cannot tell you how much I’m loving your videos, they are literally keeping me sane, flexible & balanced....much love from 🇬🇧
Wow, thank you Samantha and I am so honored to have you join me for practice! Take care, stay safe and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Peace, Aprille
THANk YOU - 2 years of suffering - have had major flare last 7 days after doing well for a few months - I found your video out of desperation - after I adjusted pelvis / si I did your video to my ability and my back spasms have already eased up - thank you so much
I am so sorry to hear you have been suffering and I completely understand! Thank you for joining me and I am SO happy to hear it has helped some. Definitely take care of yourself and I found a journal really helped me identify seasons, movements, etc. so I could stay on top of it better and explore alternative movements/positions. Wishing you healing - Aprille
Thank you so much for both the practice and your insightful comments. You reminded me that sometimes the yoga we do to ease or prevent pain can sometimes be the cause of it. Every January many online instructors offer a 30 day yoga “challenge “ which I have been sucked into in the past. Last year I had a severe shoulder pain as a result so this year I didn’t sign up. However, I still ended up following along no, but made sure not to do any planks as I think that was the problem before. However I have been very sore this week and now think it may be because I was repeating the same flow, which got more difficult each day. I’m so glad I found your videos, especially this one. I have ongoing dull pain in my left hip, but after this practice both hips feel much looser and walking seems freer. Thanks 🙏
You are very welcome Julie! I think we all don't want to admit it but any exercise or movement can cause injury and pain even if it is not meant to. Taking care, being body aware and listening to it's cues (even when they are whispered) can keep us healthy and better able to respond more quickly to it's needs. Take care of yourself first and rest (I think even yoga needs rest days) so your body can heal and rebuild. I hope you are feeling better and definitely take care of your shoulders (biggest injury in yoga). For overall soreness, you can try epsom salt in a hot bath and that often takes a lot of the sore feeling away and is VERY relaxing (and detoxifying for the body). Thank you for joining me and have a wonderful day! Peace, Aprille
I’ve been having so many problems with my lower back and SI joint. This video not only dramatically helped my back pain but I left so much more informed about the issue!! Thank you so much!!
You're so welcome and I am really glad this helped you feel better! Thank you for joining me for practice and I wish you continued health and healing for your back. Peace, Aprille
Omgosh like you mentioned this time a week before my cycle I had a flare up. First time this happened. Hormones can be a wicked thing at times 😰 Love all your classes Aprille. Thanks so much 🙏🏼
Oh wow, after carrying my godson on one hip for way too long I felt like my pelvis is not in the right place anymore and I had so much pain in my SI joint. This practice made me feel like born again, my lower back is so much better - thank you so much!!
Omg Aprille, I never comment, like neeeeever!!! I’m not new to your channel. Last time my body was in absolute Inflammation I benefited from 2/3 of your classes. But this time around I am much more committed to really Listening to my body, and understanding what it needs. This is the first and only out of hundreds of Yoga videos Focusing on the lower back that has done anything to seriously and instantaneously relieve my hip/back pain..Like Literally after the second pose I was smiling, celebrating, and singing you’re praises out loud, that’s how much better My body felt. I suppose some of it has to do with you facing similar physical challenges, but really it’s the manner in Which your relay the knowledge and instruct that makes all of the difference. I am learning so much from your commentary alone, and I am not someone who is new to the yogi, wellness, alternative lifestyle game; I grew up in a Household embracing all those things, but you just have a way of saying things in a manner that really resonates..It’s your Superpower! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, your time, and yourself with the rest of us...So Grateful:) Thank you and much love your way:)
Wow - well thank you SO much! I really appreciate your taking the time to comment and I am SO glad this practice helped you feel better. I know just how painful this area can be and how hard it can be to work with it in a way that is soothing but still keeps it open and comfortable. You are very, very welcome and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Peace, Aprille
Divine timing again, aprille... So grateful🙏🙏🙏...was having issues due to weather change.it feels grt.bcoz u do all this with all heart and share ur own experiences ...i felt better after doing the practice bcoz i wasnt able to do anything abt.the pain&was feeling stuck...unconditional love, peace and light to u and the community💟💗🌸🌸💗💟
Thank you Rubeena - so happy this practice helped you feel better! I hope you are doing well and I wish you a wonderful day my friend! Thank you for joining me - Peace, Aprille 💖🙏😃💓
@@YogaRangerStudio thank you so much. I am really looking forward to working with your videos, as I just had a really bad SI fare up..your info on how I can be more mindful in my practice is really helpful 🥰 plus the supplement should help!!
Beautiful Aprille - my low back/SI area felt 100% better.....but hard to not fidget in the pose when Lucy and Link show up. I hear those bells jingling and I know love is coming in the room. Much thanks and 💜💜💜
Hello Miss Denise! I know - the jingle is the cue for kitty antics, right? So glad you feel better - this is definitely a practice to return to often to keep that area stable yet mobile. In fact, I do a similar routine every time my pelvis starts to feel sore or "off". Much love to you and thanks for joining us! Peace, Aprille
Wow, I cannot believe what a huge difference your routine made for me. I'm getting emotional. I also have S1 low back issues, lately my pain has been greater. After your routine I felt instant relief, major pain reduction. Thanks so much. I feel hopeful....
I am SO glad to hear this practice helped! I find that really tuning into what makes it flare up or feel better helps me manage it and I can honestly say that I have not had a flareup in quite awhile. Wishing you all the best - health and healing - and thank you for sharing your time with me today. Peace, Aprille
I feel so much physical relief after this practice. The way that you described the symptoms of an SI flareup makes me feel like this is exactly what is going on for me. I recently have been engaging in some more intermediate/advanced practice and I feel like maybe I am pushing it too far and this has caused some moderate/severe pain my my left hip and lower back area. After taking this class, I am walking around and sitting down with much less pain then I had before class. I will definitely save and repeat. Thank you for the helpful and gentle modifications and for making me feel better emotionally too.
Hello Katie! I am so sorry to hear you are having some pain and I wish you healing and good health! I practiced Ashtanga and power yoga for years without any issues until I tried some modifications that didn't quite set right with my body (Trikonasana was NOT my friend for awhile). I think checking in and becoming aware of the poses that were causing more pain really helped as I could break them down, analyze what was happening and make modifications so I could incorporate them back into my practice. It took some time but I have been SI flare up free for almost 2 years. I feel it slipping and soreness and I immediately check in on my poses and practice and do some serious self care time : ) I am so glad to hear this practice helped and I am wishing you a pain free practice. Thank you for joining me and take care - Peace, Aprille
I'm looking forward to trying this practice. As someone who also has frequent "assistants", I admire how you just accept the intrusion. It took me a while to get to the embrace the cat point. Just wanted to add, I don't mean intrusion in a negative way at all.
Thanks - with 6 cats in my household, I am pretty sure they have trained me well now : ) I tried closing the door on them but they all just gathered and banged on it while yowling so I just accepted the inevitable - they are yoga cats! Enjoy the practice and I hope your kitty assists you! Peace, Aprille
I keep returning to this flow when my si joints feel a little cranky since you first released it. Increased resting due to post-covid fatigue has brought my first flare in a year so I am back in this sequence and again feeling grateful to you ☺️☺️☺️
This was very helpful, thank you! I do a lot of lifting at work and I've realized that it can definitely cause the pain to flare up if I'm not lifting properly. I tend to twist a lot when I'm in a hurry which I know isn't good form.
Agreed Helen and that's one of the biggest issues - lack of education and awareness of this key area and joint issues here. I hope this practice helped and thank you for joining me today! Peace, Aprille
@@YogaRangerStudio My right hand side si is probably beyond help, but i'll never give up and your gentle stretching will be used along with other ideas from the internet. So nice to hear from a person who really understands, because they've been there. Thanks again and peace to you Aprille.
Thank you so much for this lovely practise, I felt much better afterwards and was able to manage some basic postures for the first time in 2 weeks! It was very easy to trust that you knew what you were saying. Thanks!!
Amazing! Thank you for these wonderful poses and tips. I have been having SI problems for over 2 years now - it honestly feels like the flare-ups are constant. I worked a labor-intensive overnight job at a store, with lots of heavy lifting, and I am pretty sure that was the main contributing factor to the injury. I have been trying various treatments, and the one that relieved me of pain the most thus far has been osteopathic treatments, though they only really seem to work for a day or two afterward, and the inflammation returns. I have noticed that some yoga poses do not work for me, and it makes sense that it is those when the pelvis is completely stationary. I tried your practice this morning and am feeling so much blood flow to the area and just overall ease. I'm going to pick up some of those supplements tonight. Thank you again - I'm in tears, of relief.
You are welcome Valeria! I am so sorry you suffer with this - I know the pain can be very frustrating and I wish you health and healing. Have you tried acupuncture? I have had great success lately with acupuncture for several health issues and it is always a great natural alternative. I am glad you have recognized some of the poses and situations that cause more pain and flareups and now you can work around those with modifications or alternatives. Feel better and thank you for joining me! Peace, Aprille
It's really good that you have pinpointed the poses that are troublesome for you. For me, finding out Trikonasana was the trigger was a huge step and then I could really break the pose down to figure out what I was doing in it that caused the pain. It took me a couple of months but I now can do Triangle pose easily and without pain. Maybe try rethinking your poses and redesign them for your body's needs and anatomy? Have a lovely day and thank you SO much for joining me today! Peace, Aprille
@@YogaRangerStudio I found that low lunge twist is ok for me, so I do that instead of high lunge. For cat pulling it's tail, I just don't grab the foot. Love that you encourage others to personalize their practice
Wow. Such a beautiful class. First time in your channel and won't be the last. You got a new fan. Maybe you could create a class for the SI joint and FAI (Femoroacetabular Impingement). I have both and some of the poses hurt the front of my hips/top of the femurs. I really loved your tip on Curcumin and on not stretching to your limit during the poses. Big lesson this last one. Such a pleasure to hear your lovely voice, thank you! Namaste
Thanks and welcome to the channel! In any pose where you feel pain, in Yin you can add props, lighten the depth of the pose or take an alternative. I have some suggested alternatives for many poses under tutorials that might help. Great idea and thanks for the suggestion - Peace, Aprille
Thank you for this practice. I plan to do this 2x a day and see if it helps. Though I dont what exactly my issue is, whether back, SI, muscle, other joint, --I believe this will help some. I had an incident about 4 weeks ago after doing too much physically I think overexertion but again haven t been to any doctor or anything, I been home a lot lately as have many people these days so Im doing this and that lifting things that I shouldnt have;, etc., etc., one day I started feeling this HARD spasm around lower back/waist area and then BAM I practically collapsed and I could not stand up for about an hour . Any how I have improved since then but still feel achy , tight, lower back and hip joint....soooo trying this practice. Thanks you also for the extra tips about yoga postures, supplements, even what you mentioned about hormones cuz I'm about 2 years into "menopause" as well, :).
You are so welcome and I wish you the very best in your recovery! While I think this practice can help, I would not suggest doing any single practice 2x a day but more like 2x a week while using other practices or activities to work the muscles and overall body. Please rest lots and check in with yourself often to see if you feel any sensation and adjust your practice to fit what you need today. I do also offer a lot of Restorative Yoga that can help with the healing process as well as manage stress and our crazy lives these days. Take care - Peace, Aprille
@@YogaRangerStudio Ok. thanks I will alternate as you suggest; this one was so relaxing too.....lol...in addition to the other benefits, so I WAS like Im doing thiis AGAIN tonite :). I will definitely check out the restorative videos. Have a wonderful rest of the day!!
This class was excellent! I love your care and delivery, I haven't been that relaxed in a you tube yoga video in a long time. I loved all the interwoven tips for SI pain, do you think you could make a video for a wrist injury? I think your ques for focusing attention to that area during a class would be wonderful and there isn't much out there that I've found. - I am really glad I found your channel and I can't wait to try more classes! Thank you
Thanks for the clarification Aprille, I learned a lot. I get over optimistic when I'm well and overdo my stretches. This time it was the Caterpillar pose that cased the flare, stupid me I saw it coming but persisted. Other times overdoing the twists I guess. Thanks for your preventive suggestions!
You're so welcome! Caterpillar pose and I have some issues too and I also tend to overdo that pose thinking I should go deeper when I really need to step back - bend my knees a lot and soften. Feel better and thank you for joining me today Sue! Peace, Aprille
Hi Aprille, another wonderful class and very insightful into si problems. I have been having some issues lately, feeling it being blocked and for the first time in a long while also causing pain. I was wondering if you had any further resources on the topic?
Unfortunately, most of what I have read doesn't really understand this issue fully and doctors don't acknowledge it much. For me, much of recovery and awareness came from keeping a careful journal on what did and did not cause pain and making adjustments to my practice. I think Jason Crandell did a podcast and article on this so maybe check out Yoga land podcast and his site? Hope you feel better and definitely take care of it before it becomes more inflamed. Thanks for joining me! Peace, Aprille
@@YogaRangerStudioThank you Aprille. I will check out Jason's Blog and Podcast (having a commute to work ahead of me today will give me a chance to listen straight away :) ) And I'll try the journal, maybe also going to see a physio therapist. I love your videos! Thank you for putting them up :)
I am so sorry to hear you have struggled with this - I know from experience how incredibly painful and debilitating it can be. Wishing you health and healing and definitely try some of my tips at the end to manage the flareups as well! Thanks for joining me - Peace, Aprille
Great! Try to write down the days, movements or what's going on when it gets worse so you can find the things that make it worse too. That helped me SO much and I have been pain free for 2 years now!
While I always caution people to rest and allow the SI to recover some, you could always try this and see how it feels for you. None of these poses should inflame it more and this practice was intended to be used while recovering and to bring more awareness to the area so you can prevent flareups eventually. Use lots of props and if it hurts, come out of the pose...it might be too soon for you to work with this area. I use it when the pain has reduced some and I feel ready. Enjoy and I hope you feel better soon! Peace, Aprille
Thank you Judith! I am so glad to hear this practice was helpful and thank you for joining me today! Have a wonderful and peaceful week. Namaste, Aprille
Need a little lower back/SI joint love? Lucy and Link join us for some much needed gentle stretches using the floor to ground and stabilize our backs/pelvis - bringing awareness into this area and making space. Enjoy! Peace, Aprille
Please tell Lucy hello for me. This was certainly a teaching moment for me. Thanks for those important tips I will follow up with this. Finally someone who understands my back injury SL4 and SL5 hernitated bulge disk Thank you Lord. The sphinx pose and the child pose are my favorites. I will from now on journals when I have these fare ups. Yes! The winter is worse for my fare ups. I can't thank you enough. That explains several positions I am not ready for at this moment. 💙💙💙💙
I will tell her! She's a great little "helper". Sphinx pose feels great for me too when I have a flare up - I find myself holding it a really long time! I am so glad this helped and made sense. I suffer from this EVERY winter and for the first couple of years it was really bad. Now that I have journaled it out, discovered the triggers, and made some changes to my practice - I find it happens far less than before. This winter I have only had one flareup! I wish you health and healing and thank you so much for sharing your time and your experience with this practice. Have a wonderful day! Peace, Aprille
My left Si had a MASSIVE release after the shoelace-esque pose; my right hip/leg wouldn't allow me to get "in there" bc baseball size hypotropic ossification around artery.. but the left was so ignited... thank you; Aprille!
Very informative...thank you ...wondering why my lower back hurts some days and not others. I thought my stomach muscles were not strong enough. Thanks Aprille
Simone, back pain can come from SO many things and this is just one of the many (probably one that most people aren't aware of). It's a dull ache on one side that is consistent and persistent and often comes from overuse or overextension and essentially is an injury. Having had this for a few years, I have learned to allow it to heal and I know many of my triggers so I can avoid the flareups. Flareups often last up to 3 months though so it's an area to watch...especially for female yogis. Thank you for joining me today and have a lovely day! Peace, Aprille
Hi Aprille, I found this practice to help with SI joint Inflammation just before my period, my joints feel like they are Inflammed, about to explode 3-4 days before. All your practices are amazingly soothing and refreshing. Can you do a video for a combo of PMS and SI Joint etc? Much Love, from South Africa ♥️ 🇿🇦
Hello Candice! I am so glad you found this practice helpful and it's a great one to use whenever your SI flares up or you feel it coming on (or even to help care for it and prevent flareups). Have you tried this practice? ruclips.net/video/ycalGqsFoXE/видео.html This is meant for PMS/PMT specifically to deal with the digestive, back ache, mood swings that go with it. Another suggestion is to use a acupressure mat which I find helps immensely. The gentle pressure with the little tines helps release tension in the space and relax me which in turn helps with pain/discomfort. It can be used for all areas of the body. Here are a few tips on usage: ruclips.net/video/Z3fYG2L4YiQ/видео.html Thanks and have a great day! Peace, Aprille
@@YogaRangerStudio Thank You Aprille!! Sorry I only saw your reply now 😔 I'm going to share the video with my cousin who also battles with SI joint and PMS issues. I've also recently been for an operation which found my Iron and Potassium levels were extremely low, Anemic on the iron side actually, so the constant aches and pains have now made sense too. Minerals are so vital to us all! I bought the Accupressure mat about 3 months ago because I saw your Video tutorial on how to use it 😊 My cousin and I are going to be doing your Yoga classes together (seperatly in our own homes, at a daily time that suits us both) as part of self isolation/quarantining going on, and still keeping with our routines! Thank you again for you calm, comforting and wonderful knowledge and guidance you offer throughout your practices 💞🤗
Luv this practise, not only making me feel better but I could also feel ma blood flows which is a good sign for me;-). Would u mind lemme know again here in writing da supplement you suggest to take for da joint please?. Thank u so much Aprille, namaste from Indonesia.
I am so happy you enjoyed this practice! The supplement I take is a blend of ginger, turmeric and black pepper. Together they reduce inflammation throughout the body. You can also drink golden milk with all of these in there. Have a wonderful week and thank you for joining me! Peace, Aprille
I am so happy to hear this helped. I find my SI flares up each fall/winter so I always need to step back and let it rest a bit with practices like this. Thank you for.joining me and I am sending you healing thoughts! Peace, Aprille
It's more about what it "feels" like actually. I have stepped away from alignment based yoga and moved towards functional yoga which focuses on what the pose feels like in your specific body rather than an aesthetic based pose.
@@YogaRangerStudio I'm trying to do that as well in my novice sort of way. things further complicated by being really tall and too flexible as well - what seems to help one thing pains another.. sigh
Try placing your hand on a chair back or seat and starting with front leg first. When you first come into the pose, how do your hips sit? That's your place... Let go of all the alignment cues you ever heard here and feel the pose in your body naturally. Then, try minor adjustments and see.
Thank you for reminding me that yoga poses do not have to be perfect but modified to your body. I use to force my body to do poses it was not ready for and i would cause injury. This practice really helped me, thank you. P.S. I like your soft calming voice it added to the relaxation.
Thank you Gilda and I am so glad you joined me for this practice! Definitely take care of yourself and practice in a way that honors your body in this moment. Have a wonderful weekend - Peace, Aprille
I am so glad you enjoyed this practice and thank you so much for joining me and taking a moment to let me know how it worked for you. Wishing you a wonderful week - Peace, Aprille
So much realness, and the tips are life changing, thank you! Totally resonate with the stacking the knees in laying spinal twist ~ never feels right for me but always feel like I “should” because that’s the pose! Thank you 🙏🏻:)
You're so welcome! Yes, I have heard the align the hips, stack the knees for SO many years but I am so glad many teachers these days are letting this cue go and asking people to try different modifications for their bodies specifically. After all - this is your practice! Thank you for joining me and have a great weekend. Peace, Aprille
Wow you really blessed me with this one ☝🏻:-o . Thank you for your calm great advice and teaching philosophy . It helps me co create a safe space for myself. That's really saying something because I am a survivor of childhood cult abuse where a lot of things were done to that area & I have no doubt causes these issues I've had my whole life with my hips. I share this because sometimes people don't always know the impact of their gift, their craft, their kindness and wisdom. And I just wanted to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you 🙏🏻 ☺️.
Thank you SO very much for sharing and for your beautiful words of support. You are absolutely right - sometimes one doesn't know the impact they have and it is so good to hear how the practices are working for others and their effect. I wish you so much healing and thank you for sharing your time with me today. Wishing you a wonderful and restful weekend. Peace, Aprille
Thanks for this. Just wanted to add that turmeric, ginger and black pepper can be added to a hot cup of diluted milk, in India it's quite a usual thing. Just keep in mind to boil the ginger and add turmeric and pepper after the flames are off. :)
Exactly and I often drink this "golden milk" myself for inflammation or whenever I feel I need a little boost. It tastes amazing and I like to add a bit of cinnamon as well. Perfect for colder weather but great anytime of year.
Hello Dear Aprille from Mira Alkaly from Israel.I took your Yin course in 2020 and have been teaching successfully since then. I have a female student who suffers from symphosis. She is not pregnant. Would you recommend this sequence in order to relieve the tension in the area or rather another sequence Of course she is under medical treatment. Thanks so much for your videos and your advice.
Hello Mira - so lovely to hear from you again! As we age this area may fuse together naturally (for many men this is the case) so yes, this practice is appropriate for her as well. She might want to reach out to her healthcare provider and ask what positions are not advised for her specific situation as well and start documenting when/where/how she feels pain here to see if she can pinpoint certain movements, habits, times of year/day/month, etc. This could help her with changing habits as well as providing her healthcare team with more information to help them help her.
Hi thank you! Do you specific yoga poses to avoid when having si joint issues? I find frog pose makes it worse. I now realise not all yoga poses are good some make my si issues flare up for days.
Hello! This depends on each person but there are a few that "tend" to make SI issues flare up. Revolved Head to Knee Pose is probably the one many people struggle with as it involves seated, forward folding AND a twist. I did find this one made mine worse as well as triangle pose so I took a break from both and then began rebuilding those poses from the ground up to fit MY BODY instead of all the cues I had heard over the years. It took a year or so to work my way back into these poses but now - they don't bother my SI at all. If Frog is one that irritates yours, try thinking of what you can adjust to make that pose work better for you. Maybe it's using a bolster underneath for support so you don't go as deep, maybe it's rocking forward or back slightly, maybe it's coming into a wide kneed child's pose with feet turned out or just a super wide kneed child's pose. Find YOUR pose and experiment with what feels best for you in your practice. And, while you have a flareup or discomfort/pain, avoid the poses that seem to irritate for at least a week or two until you are pain/discomfort free. I think it's great you have already identified the pose that bothers yours! Good first step in caring for your SI. Thanks for reaching out and for practicing with me and have a wonderful week (let me know if you have any other questions). Peace, Aprille
That's great to hear! I know when I am struggling with SI pain these gentle, comforting stretches really help reset and soften the area. Thank you for joining me today and have a lovely day! Peace, Aprille
Hello! I journaled the exercises or activities that caused pain, days, seasons and tracked down what was exacerbating it. When I discovered the movements that made it worse I rethought and changed my movements... Adjusting to prevent the flare ups. I also added more ginger and turmeric into my diet and really looked at overall inflammation causes in my body. Manage stress, eat well, reduce inflammatory foods and habits to help my body function better. I wish you all the best in working with SI and take care! 😊
Absolutely wonderful class with lots of good information. My 77 year old back feels 😃! You are a gifted teacher. 🙏🏼
Wow, thank you! I am so happy to hear this practice helped and thank you for your very kind words. Peace, Aprille
I feel so much better each time I do this class. The cats are always a surprise and delight. Thank you for including them and for this flow. 🌸
Wonderful and thank you for joining us on the mat today! May you have a beautiful week ahead. Peace, Aprille
I am grateful for your empathy about aches, injuries and inflammation and guidance on strategies xxx
I hope some of the suggestions help or at least give you some ideas. I know how painful SI injury can be and as there is no known cure/treatment for remedying it completely, it's something to work with long term. Wishing you healing and relief - Peace, Aprille
It really works thank u Soo much I am 15 years old and I was having sacroiliac pain since 2 years . Thank u love from India
I am so glad it works for you (I have SI joint issues as well and working with it has been over a 4 year time). I wish you health and healing and THANK YOU so much for joining me today! Peace, Aprille

Great practice thank you. The kitties interrupting were icing on the cake, so cute!

Hi Lucy!!! 🐈⬛ Thank you Aprille! 🌸🌸🌸
Good morning!
This video has saved my life I've tried everything. Doctors, medication, physiotherapy. I do this same one twice a week and it's keeping me relatively pain free from an injury.Thankyou so much for sharing your knowledge.🙂
I am so happy to hear this has helped you so much and I wish you continued healing. Thank you for joining me and have a GREAT week!
I have been struggling these last 6 weeks. I have gone to Over a half of dozen people in the medical field, with everyone telling me something different is wrong.
I came across this video over a week ago, have been doing this 2 to 3 times a day.
This is the ONLY THING that’s giving me realise 🙏🏼💜
Thank you for this🙏🏼 Forever grateful !
I am so sorry to hear you have been struggling with this but happy to hear this practice has helped. I have a new class coming out in June working with SI issues as well and a few more shorter (10-15 min) classes you can use for relief too coming soon. Wishing you health and healing - Peace, Aprille
Looking forward to it, and will be keeping my eye out for that video. Thank you💜
Thank you so much for all your classes. You are my hero😊. You are in my living room every other day and helped my so much! Greetings from a rainy Holland.
Thank you! I am so honored to share practice time with you!
this is a great video to return to time and again. thank you
So glad this video is helpful to you and thank you for your support!
Thank you for this. I’m currently in PT for this and it’s really nice to have a complimentary practice to go with it.
You are so very welcome Brianna and I hope you feel better soon (check out my Restorative Yoga for SI joint too if you need another practice). Thank you for joining me!
Oh my goodness, this helped immensely, wow. Thank you!!
I'm so glad to hear this and thank you for joining me for practice today!
You have the most calming and beautiful voice. Thank you for your awesome class.I have two Ragdolls here bugging me! Love the kitties.
Thank you so much! Kitties make it even better, right? Thank you for joining me here and for sharing this practice. Peace, Aprille

@@YogaRangerStudio Well, the Definitely do a great job, love em bunches 💖🐈⬛🥰🎵
I've had a weird twinge in my right hip/hamstring, I've done lots of pilates, yoga, etc. It's still consistent. When you described where the SI was, I knew it was definitely in that area. Hopefully it'll get better after this video!
I hope you feel better and thank you for joining me today (check out my Restorative Yoga for SI as well).
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
My pleasure!
Thank you for sharing this & the advice about the curcumin! I just ordered some today hoping for the best!
Loved this video and really helped me with my Sacro joint
So glad this helped and thank you for sharing!
I never knew I had an SI injury up till now. This explains a lot of my pain, which I have been dealing with for years! The poses in this class really helped. Thank you for your class(es), the tips and your calming voice. I really like your channel
Thank you Evelyn and I am so glad this practice helped you feel better! Wishing you a wonderful weekend - Peace, Aprille

Thanks for this lovely session! Also enjoyed the sounds of the cats :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve been having so many problems with my lower back and SI joint. This video not only dramatically helped my back pain but I left so much more informed about the issue!! Thank you so much!!

Omgosh like you mentioned this time a week before my cycle I had a flare up. First time this happened. Hormones can be a wicked thing at times 😰

Oh wow, after carrying my godson on one hip for way too long I felt like my pelvis is not in the right place anymore and I had so much pain in my SI joint. This practice made me feel like born again, my lower back is so much better - thank you so much!!
I am so happy this helped and thank you for joining me today. Have a lovely weekend! Peace, Aprille 💙
Omg Aprille, I never comment, like neeeeever!!! I’m not new to your channel. Last time my body was in absolute
Inflammation I benefited from 2/3 of your classes. But this time around I am much more committed to really
Listening to my body, and understanding what it needs. This is the first and only out of hundreds of Yoga videos
Focusing on the lower back that has done anything to seriously and instantaneously relieve my hip/back pain..Like
Literally after the second pose I was smiling, celebrating, and singing you’re praises out loud, that’s how much better
My body felt. I suppose some of it has to do with you facing similar physical challenges, but really it’s the manner in
Which your relay the knowledge and instruct that makes all of the difference. I am learning so much from your
commentary alone, and I am not someone who is new to the yogi, wellness, alternative lifestyle game; I grew up in a
Household embracing all those things, but you just have a way of saying things in a manner that really resonates..It’s your
Superpower! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, your time, and yourself with the rest of us...So Grateful:)
Thank you and much love your way:)
Wow - well thank you SO much! I really appreciate your taking the time to comment and I am SO glad this practice helped you feel better.
@@YogaRangerStudio Thanks again for offering your insight & techniques. Sending you warm hugs & respect from Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. xoxox

Some doctors and physio's still have no idea about si joint problems, thanks for your time.
Thanks!!
You're so welcome and great job! Take care of yourself and go slow as you go through a flare up. Wishing you healing and good health - Peace, Aprille
Lovely! High Lunge twist and cat pulling it's tail are no no poses for my SI joints. Learning this has saved me a lot of pain!
Love your practices namaste
Thank you so much! Wishing you a wonderful weekend - Peace, Aprille
@@YogaRangerStudio Thank you very much for your response Aprille! Wish you all the best!

You're welcome!
Thank you
Thank you Daytona! Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Peace, Aprille
Thank you so much this has ruined my life for the last year, and I’m going to use this everyday until I get better

@@YogaRangerStudio I went out a bought curcumin !! Thanks
Great! Try to write down the days, movements or what's going on when it gets worse so you can find the things that make it worse too. That helped me SO much and I have been pain free for 2 years now!
Love to try this. Can you do this yoga poses even if your SI is inflamed? Thank you!
I appreciate your reply. Thank you so much!
this was very helpful
Thank you Judith! I am so glad to hear this practice was helpful and thank you for joining me today! Have a wonderful and peaceful week. Namaste, Aprille
Need a little lower back/SI joint love? Lucy and Link join us for some much needed gentle stretches using the floor to ground and stabilize our backs/pelvis - bringing awareness into this area and making space. Enjoy! Peace, Aprille
Thanks again
Always welcome and thank you for joining me!
Wishing you good health and perfect healing in the new year Sam - Hugs to you! Peace, Aprille
Have you tried this practice? ruclips.net/video/ycalGqsFoXE/видео.html
This is meant for PMS/PMT specifically to deal with the digestive, back ache, mood swings that go with it. Another suggestion is to use a acupressure mat which I find helps immensely. The gentle pressure with the little tines helps release tension in the space and relax me which in turn helps with pain/discomfort. It can be used for all areas of the body. Here are a few tips on usage: ruclips.net/video/Z3fYG2L4YiQ/видео.html
Thanks and have a great day!
I bought the Accupressure mat about 3 months ago because I saw your Video tutorial on how to use it 😊
My cousin and I are going to be doing your Yoga classes together (seperatly in our own homes, at a daily time that suits us both) as part of self isolation/quarantining going on, and still keeping with our routines! Thank you again for you calm, comforting and wonderful knowledge and guidance you offer throughout your practices 💞🤗
Hi thank you for this video much needed. Can I do other of your video? Thanks again.
Yes of course! Just listen to your body and modify/adjust however you need to for your practice. Thank you for joining me - Peace, Aprille
I can’t believe it took me so long to find this video. My SI and lower back are frequently crabby, this video helps so much! Great work. 👍🏼
I'm so glad it helped and you are feeling better! Thank you for joining me on the mat today and have a great week! Peace, Aprille

Currently having a flare-up, this was extremely helpful. Thank you
Glad it helped and thank you for joining me today! Wishing you healing and rest. Peace, Aprille
what does the adjusted triangle pose look like for you? thank you so much for these videos!
@@YogaRangerStudio thank you, I will give it a gingerly try - I also love this pose.
do you have any recommendations for poses to help strengthen the SI Joints?
Thanks
You are very welcome! Peace, Aprille
Lifechanging routine 🕉✌🏽💝
The Yoga Ranger Studio with Aprille Walker Thank you Aprille 🙏🏻☺️
Thanks, Aprille. Just what I needed today ❤️
Welcome Julie! Have a wonderful weekend! Peace, Aprille
Divine! And excellent explanations and and advices!! Thank you 🙌🥰💕
You are so welcome and I hope it helped! Thank you for sharing your time today and have a lovely week.
@@YogaRangerStudio love it
Hello Dear Aprille from Mira Alkaly from Israel.I took your Yin course in 2020 and have been teaching successfully since then.
@@YogaRangerStudio Thank you do much .
🙏 thank you
You are so welcome - wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead Wendy!
Wow, loved this, my SI feels better already! Thanks for all the information during the poses too. You have a very calming voice :)
Thank you Ellen and I am so glad to hear you are feeling better. Wishing you health and healing and have a wonderful week! Peace, Aprille

Hi I was wondering how you manage the si pain? If you can give me some insight. Because I was diagnosed this month. Thank you 🙏
