In my game against the Hivers, the Core Worlds actually united against them. For whatever reason, no matter who was at war, every invasion and raid went straight to the hivers. Every faction, even the HMI of all people, was throwing everything they had at them. They all failed. I was constantly getting notifications of entire armadas being destroyed.
Enter me, the player. I satbombed their capital until it was no more.

Quoted for truth. Staple is a beast. I miss the old staple though. For 40 DP it was OP. I wish they kept it the way it was, with 6 medium missile slots, and instead increased the DP to like 50 or even 60. It's worth it IMO. Great ship.
Oh this is kind of funny, I recently got into an itch for starsector and went through some channels, I wound up digging through your videos for a bit then saw how long the last one was posted and went "Huh, that's a shame."

I am legit impressed you did so well w/out any faction mods. Even the mod author recommends at least 4 faction mods installed to slow them down. You mad man!

That ending plot would be worthy of a sci fi novel or movie. One faction sacrifices everything only to be backstabbed then vows vengenace returning from the war to protect the galaxy.

Kudos. Not using Hiver weapons, too. Hiver weapons are so good, they actually make ships with energy slots viable, you know. And they cost so much no other money-making is needed, but I digress. Its easier to conquer Hivers than to sat-bomb them, since the amount of vengeance fleets is, lets say, tedious to deal with, but boy, does it make for an epic battle or 40. Closer to 40, to be fair. On the flip side, you get a challenge for even the most busted of your ships.
Man wrote his own space epic in the most unintentional way. Nothing more iconic than a bunch of regular Sci-Fi joes making their stand against an all-consuming threat with a bunch of retrofitted civilian and mercantile ships.
played a game with the hivers, they did the biggest favors imaginable to me.
invade a planet of an core faction, which i could make loads of money on (supplying a planet right after invasion is increddibly expensive, especialy weapons) and then i raided and or invaded them without consequences for me (invaded from hivers not from a core faction) so i could take over more and more core worlds without fighting the core factions
With helldivers 2 having came out recently, this video feels extra fitting.

some of the ship packs you're using are stupidly op
saying "the staple is the conquest if it was good" is like saying a fucking m4a1 is a slingshot if it was good - that ship can solo most fleets, and it only costs like 50-60 DP.

Watching this makes me wish that someone would remake or update that other alien mod. The Crystanite I think they were called. They were their own faction and there was even a mechanic that some of your colonies could have a Crystanite minority.
And this mod is old like it was for version 0.82 I think so yeah it is decently old.

We need a luddic solution to the bugs
my biggest issue is once you install the mod. literally every new start. first yr in.. everyone is only attacking the hivers homeplanets.. forget seeing raids to salvage in the core seeing factions fighting in the core.. they've made peace with each other and they take turns sending 56 day til arrival raid /invasion fleets nonstop to the hivers. just sit there watching the wall of core fleets traveling. hivers near stood a chance. they never were wiped out.. but basically the game stopped once the ok, its fine to add a military tab date kicked in.
Actually in my souped up modlist, THEY get smacked alot. In my last campaign they basically lost half of their planets.🤣
