It's very unhinged and insane for those discord mods to accuse you of "promoting sexual violence" for a 2 second handholding joke. Beyond a stretch, likely defamatory, and is just all around insane. People doing that sort of thing often have a lot of their own skeletons in the closet.

The response was reasonable, cause that was not okay, regardless of his reasons. But then you get to the Public Ban List. You do some research. You learn a few things about what the Modders and Moderators "Okayed", this including inputting some coding of a bias nature, against other Mods for whatever reason, which was bad enough as it is. This wasn't a new thing, for a long time. But this got worse when you learn that some Moderators, are quite literally fine with "Gender Dysphoria", or rather, "Pronoun" stuff, which is part of the Woke Ideology. The "They/Them" thing. Look. Instead of doing these stupid things. Perhaps just focus on making a wholesome Starsector experience, with zero politics and weird crashcode or force-balance code against other Mods. Just focus on making Starsector the best Starsector there is, and nothing else. And Mod it however you see fit, even if it is some dark or adult themed mods. The Discord Server, is indeed infected by double-standards. Where you must be VERY cautious and avoid eggshells. I hate that. Getting ban for saying or doing things that isn't even remotely "oof" level, like...handholding? Headpats? But you can call yourself "Them" or whatever, which is political. Heck...just make a "Political" Channel, so the idiots wanting to get weird can unload there and keep it off any other Channel, if it gets too annoying. What a strange and psychotic era we live in. It's called a "Compromise" which some Servers and Forums do, because they cannot or refuse to handle situations that either get out of control or just don't want to pick an end to it all. It is a critical weakness that has been taken advantage practically all the time. 2: Being accepting means you are willing to listen the other side. This ONLY works if there are common grounds or agreements. This do not work often, because Humans are tribal in their behavior. More so than before. 3: Pronouns are a direct result of the current transformation of the Left-Wing soup, of a rather extreme variant. Which forms a rather small incredibly loud minority that has been forcing or bullying others into their dogma. This is not exclusive to Non-Gamers. Just wanted to say, I had never played starsector before this video came out. I had watched SSethtzeentach's video on it, thought it was neat, and put it in my backlog. After seeing your video, I gave it a try using a totally legal genuine legitimate gamekey (unrelated to SSeth's video), fell in love with it, and began modding the shit out of it. Bought a key later for it because it was so damned good. I like your video style! I've watched a few of your reviews since; UAF, Scalartech, Iron Shell... there's a pattern there. I gotta thank you for introducing both the modding scene and (reintroducing) the game itself to me. And of course, I personally commend you for having a spine and not bitching out over some lame e-drama. Remember, jannies do it for free.

IronchadLion managed to implode a server of pearl-clutching reprobates with minimal effort, and for that I salute thee. That aside, I'm glad there's someone out there doing overviews of these mods, even as an avid user it can be hard to keep track of everything in them.
@@sirwahthemonke So figured I would give an abridged version of the story. There was a mod that introduced a prisoner mechanic and it was open source. So someone made a fork with both SFW content and NSFW content in it. Lion used the fork for one its SFW content additions for a joke. Cue a blood pressure level rivaling the core of a star. This would result in the original mod author adding crash code to his maintained mods (VERY BAD). When others found out people got angry cue the discord channel leaders circling the wagons. And one of the top mod authors coming out in support of the code and revealing they had their own malicious code (the mod would not work right if you used it with a mod that many argue supported 1940's Germans don't know enough myself to tell if that is honest or what). Cue the forums changing the rules to no crash code or malicious code. Soon after the pressure on the discord reached critical mass and was forced to act the same as the forums. This is abridged version of it all. Some specifics are not included as they don't add enough context to change anything. To be frank had there not been malicious code it would have just been a fit but it was used. This is it to the best of my knowledge from digging through forums, Reddit, comment sections and the different discord channels.

But NEVER is crashcode "acceptable" because all it takes is a author being angry and all the sudden their mod interacts with the crash code of another mod to break your game.

Rewatching and liking as you deserve the recognition for all your hard work, its a shame you had to make a small change for a game that is essentially a space war crime simulator, which is why i love Starsector.
Side note, you can dodge the nanoforge vengance fleet by immediately transverse jumping out. I did this by accident the first 2-3 times while trying to limit the hegemony's conquering
If you want to play Starsector with clean hands (trading without using black markets, only "market manipulation", bounty hunting, and exploration) IronShell makes it profitable. All those taxes? They will come back to you, the cleaner your hands, the less penalties you incur, and the more tax returns you get

18:59 it fits quite well. In East Asian languages the letter 金 in Kim Quy can mean either "gold" and "metal" depending on the context. And yes, this Kim has the same etymology as the Korean surname "Kim", a surname with its own turtle-related legend. It's a thing around this part of the world.
Rewatching and liking as you deserve the recognition for all your hard work, its a shame you had to make a small change for a game that is essentially a space war crime simulator, which is why i love Starsector.
Side note, you can dodge the nanoforge vengance fleet by immediately transverse jumping out. I did this by accident the first 2-3 times while trying to limit the hegemony's conquering
Yeah if you do it immediately that's an easy way, I just showed it manually so people didn't think it was the only option. Good tip.

If you want to play Starsector with clean hands (trading without using black markets, only "market manipulation", bounty hunting, and exploration) IronShell makes it profitable. All those taxes? They will come back to you, the cleaner your hands, the less penalties you incur, and the more tax returns you get
