Enclave: you know why I pulled you over? Wastelander: I’m just trying to take a rad bath, leave me alone. Enclave on radio: suspect is refusing to comply, deadly force authorized.
The reason why the Enclave acts that they’re seeing the creatures for the 1st time is because most of their previous data in the west was most likely destroyed either from the NCR & BoS who wanted the data, or from the nuking of the Oil Rig (most likely both), forcing them to start from scratch. And yes, the 9 stars on the terminal is probably just a limitation issue.
except the enclave took their research from navarro and went to raven rock before colonal autumn was even born. it's possible a lot was lost when the oil rig went boom, but they've had plenty of time to get the simple stuff back.
I'm thinking that the original Enclave members from the Oil Rig and Navarro took information from their time there to Raven Rock, only this information was either lost or got corrupted somehow, possibly when inputting the info into a different terminal or Eden deleted the info not knowingwhat the outside world was like.? Anyway this would have been taken by people such as Colonel Autumn's father, but as the original members died off, this information that was corrupted or deleted would have been spread down through word of mouth, and then slowly got mixed and matched over time to the point that the new Enclave scientists and soldiers would have no clue about what these creatures were.
Hell, I find it moral to kill them with a ripper when they run away. I’d sneak attack them with an armor piercing rifle with explosive ammunition if I could. Honestly, using a mini-nuke just feels too humane. Even with the MIRV.

I still want to know what the fuck that crater is.. it has weird cone like indents on two sides, the PRIMA guide seems to suggest originally an alien corpse was to be present at Fort Bannister, I'm guessing the Crater was the result of some alien event, possibly a UFO crash that was moved and or recovered from the base sometime before the Lone Wanderer showed up, either by the Pre War US Government shortly before the war or Maybe Mothership Zeta with it's tractor beam.
last time I played Fallout 3 I was using a mod that let me have my own faction and bring soldiers from that faction with me. I took them to all of the enclave outposts in the wasteland and made dure to leave behind just as many of my soldiers as there had been enclave soldiers making sure the area was safe from future enclave troops by turning their own outposts against them. For the Rho outpost, I just left a person to replace each of the turrets.
I wouldn’t say this is the first time the Enclave saw these creatures, but I’m willing to bet the specific Enclave members who wrote those entries probably never saw them up close before.
Actually, the "Scylla Serrata Horrendus" name comes from the Lone Wanderer after passing an Intelligence check, after you complete the part of the Wasteland Survival Guide quest that has you investigate Mirelurks! Which (ideally) happens before the Enclave come into the Capital Wasteland. So coincidence or the Enclave officer has read the Wasteland Survival Guide and... plagiarised!
Possible explanation for Enclave seeing these creatures for the first time could be that after the war some sectors remained underground and lost contact with the Enclave faction above them. The reason they are not at war with each other is because they are bonded by a strict moral and fraternal code, similar to the modern military or the Free and Accepted Masons of our time. I will assume that in our time, if stricken by chaos, both factions will not turn on each other after they are able recognize their code of arms or insignia. If what I stated is true, it would also explain the terminals are inconsistent.
Oh yeah, the mole rat thing. If I remember correctly they were a US military program. They were supposed to be dropped on China to upend infrastructure. They also had a kill switch built in to them, which Moira accidentally reproduced to cause the head exploding effect. There is a terminal that talks about it somewhere in the game. But for the life of me I cannot remember which, maybe one of the terminals inside the outcast base?
13:25 It could be a reference to the movie "Them!" where the scientist tells the police to target the antennae. I'm sure you're already aware that the mission "Those!" in Grayditch is an obvious reference to "Them!".
Wolves (canis lupus) and dogs (canis familiaris) are technically the same species: canis lupus. This is because they can interbreed and produce fertile young.
Technically, and technically not. Dogs are genetically considered to be a subspecies of Wolf, since they are similar enough to breed, but different enough to not be the exact same. There are big differences in how they behave and tolerate humans, you can't train a wolf to be a police wolf or drug wolf or anything because their wild instincts make them almost untrainable and very unreliable.
Zes Good point. But a subspecies is not exactly the same as a different species. It’s still understandable how Bethesda would report a dog as canis lupus.
I SERIOUSLY want in fallout 5 the ability to side with Enclave. It could be like you have to do SERIOUSLY horrible things that the Enclave tells you to do, but in the end you DO end up Rebuilding part of America the way it was before the war, leaving you and your moral compass to decide if it was justified. I'd be interested to know if Autumn was planning on continuing the persecution of "genetic noncompliant" populations, or if that was something Eden was keen on. I maintain that Autumn's plan- to use the water purifier as a bargaining chip to establish the Enclave as a local authority figure- wouldn't really work if the Enclave just killed all the wastelanders afterwards. Autumn's Enclave wants to build an empire, and you can't build an empire without citizens. (Also, I'm not sure "hypocrite" is accurate re: them using Deathclaws as weapons. Unless you believe the theory that the Mysterious Stranger was affected by an artifact from that ancient/alien civilization (like the dude in the Asylum) and Dogmeat was the Mysterious Stranger's dog and also affected, so now he is an immortal, super-intelligent canine who controls the destiny of the world by helping important people.

Mole Rats were actually mutated before the war. They are one of the many FEV projects that have escaped into the wastes. Amazing video Oxhorn. I love the Enclave in spite of their flaws, I feel with the right leadership they could do great things for the wasteland.
This is interesting to note the amount of scientific correctness of Biological Classification done by Enclave Research Outpost. In today's world, all of the species noted exist and the evolutionary mutations showed are quite realistic. I would love to make a video on the evolutionary correctness in Fallout series.

There was a ditch that held the bodies of the wastelanders, Junk Finger was a raider and Spookia was a ghoul. The bodies however may not appear due to glitch or time passing.
Can Bethesda please make a fallout game where you can choose to join and help the enclave? One where they’ve learned from their past failures and have changed? I’m not saying I want them to be generic good guys maybe some good and some bad. I just got want them to be generic bad guys
I didn't see you find it. It's a little hard to find but you can find all the body's in a ditch off the road kinda hidden by bushes that were listed. When I found them it was sad and sickening.
The Enclave is always missing important parts of the story. I'd argue that the wild mongrel is a result of coywolf breeding. Look up coywolfs if you don't know what they are. Basically wolves crossed with dog/coyote mixes. Making a new canis species. It is insane what these animals can do.
In my gameplay in the last Outpost covered the soldiers were still alive and that one that was dead in front of the container was burning some bodies. The radscorpion took care of those guys in this video
I’ve always liked the over-the-top nature of the Fallout series, so watching you do things like using a mini-nuke on a single raider who hasn’t even gotten out of bed is just... yumm
if they had a moon base, why wouldn't the president be there? there is no way they would be listening to a robot in raven rock if they had a moon base.
Again great video, good work. I think there are research outposts because when raven rock is destroyed the ones on these outposts don’t know about that and they continue to do their work OR they are retreated enclave who trains itself for the end of the war
It’s a shame Bethesda didn’t go more the route fallout new Vegas goes and allow you to actually join the enclave like with the legion. It would have been so cool to explore raven rock and these outposts as a non hostile and get to talk to them and hear their opinions and their side of what’s going on. For all we know they could be like a lot of NCR troopers and don’t agree with these orders or tactics but are just falling in line because they have to.
have you ever done a video about just vaultec itself? like whatever happened to them? after still somehow kinda monitoring the results of the experiments they did?
The Mirelurk entry didn't even mention that "Mirelurk Kings" or as they are known in the Mojave, "Lakelurks" are the mutated descendants of snapping turtles.
Oxhorn the Fallout God didn't know giant ants can be frenzied?! That's actually crazy considering the antennae are the closest part of the ant to the player.
"But where did they find so many soldiers?". Well fallout 2 took place over 30 years ago, and we know that they do recruit wastelanders so long as they aren't mutants, plus Raven Rock and the several additional installations that the enclave occupy would give them plenty of room for population growth. So they are a mix of west coast veterans, possibly any remaining branches or outposts (vertibird refueling sites or bunkers like we see in whitesprings, raven rock may have even had it's own garrison), descendants of enclave personnel (they had some 30 years to replenish their ranks), and wastelander recruitment(They had a small basis of support among the wastelanders, so they likely recruited those who were pure humans.)
the fact that the east coast enclave were completely separated from the west coast enclave with no contact at all is proof enough for there to be an extremely high likelihood of there being many other enclave chapters and groups out there who exist and are healthy and active, there for we have a high likelihood of seeing a different non-remnant enclave faction at some point again in a future fallout game, which means there is a possibility that said group would actually be a good group of enclave rather than a bunch of evil dudes
all the Enclave Encounters throughout the Wasteland make me wanna do all the sidequests BEFORE finding James, because the gloves are off once those horned stormtroopers march in, as Three Dog put it.
I am suspecting the inconsistency in flag ASCII-art might be an indication that, without a central command, the Enclave in the area has fractured into sub-factions.
Something that I don't think was ever addressed was how do the giant bugs/flies breathe? Either the air is really oxygen rich or they've developed some kind of lungs because that's the real life limiter on invertebrate size, if an ant was the size of a pony then it wouldn't be able to absorb enough oxygen to supply it's brain and muscles.
Enclave: you know why I pulled you over?
Wastelander: I’m just trying to take a rad bath, leave me alone.

Ya got plans do an episode on Dogmeat, one of the most reoccurring characters in Fallout?
Be a weird one from a lore perspective. Technically, they are several different dogs with the same name and some similarities.
Sen Howler woah dude never thought of that
@@paulpaulington3907 He was finished helping you and wanted to move on to the next hero in need so he faked his death.
Sen Howler Ah, I can see that happening.
@@senhowler IIRC Dogmeat (Fallout 1)'s canonical death is from being sliced in half by one of the laser fields in the master's base, so... Dang he must be a good actor. :B
Whats the shader that Oxhorn uses for his Fallout 3?
I thought it this was a Fallout 4 video until I saw the title.
There is a terminal in a grayditch house that relates to this. Check it out sometime Ox.
Three stages of amnesia as explained by our lord Oxhorn
14:40 😮
14:42😯
14:44 🤯🤯🤪
Mole Rats were actually mutated before the war. They are one of the many FEV projects that have escaped into the wastes. Amazing video Oxhorn. I love the Enclave in spite of their flaws, I feel with the right leadership they could do great things for the wasteland.
This is interesting to note the amount of scientific correctness of Biological Classification done by Enclave Research Outpost. In today's world, all of the species noted exist and the evolutionary mutations showed are quite realistic. I would love to make a video on the evolutionary correctness in Fallout series.
26:45 Dear Lord, Ox! You headshot that guy with a Mini Nuke! I love it, do it again.
Entomology nerd here 🤓 . In the mirelurk entry- the 2nd "c" in chelicerata is pronounced like an "s", and "chitinous (developer typo [they spelled it 'chitnous'" as in chiton, is pronounced like titan. Great work, loved this video!
Nobody:
The Enclave: *It's free real estate*
Hearing him convey the "???" entries in the mirelurk section was hilarious
I've encountered a member of the Enclave on the very first day in the Wasteland. I went to Super-Duper Mart for Moira and decided to head to Springvale. Lo and behold, I got shot by one of them where the outpost should be.
Its supposed to be a bug introduced by broken steel I think. Ive encountered them too
Oxhorn: talks in a low clear voice easy to understand
Also Oxhorn: [clip where he fires of the minigun with great intensity. Waking up every neighbours I have in miles around me]
14:43 hubuah?
made my day
There was a ditch that held the bodies of the wastelanders, Junk Finger was a raider and Spookia was a ghoul. The bodies however may not appear due to glitch or time passing.
I would also like to add that the truck near Old Onley was supposed to contain a dead feral and 2 other wastelanders
That missile glitch is hilarious 😂
Glad to see someone else is here 2021 lol
In my gameplay in the last Outpost covered the soldiers were still alive and that one that was dead in front of the container was burning some bodies. The radscorpion took care of those guys in this video
14:40. Ox voicing “????” Gold
I’ve always liked the over-the-top nature of the Fallout series, so watching you do things like using a mini-nuke on a single raider who hasn’t even gotten out of bed is just... yumm
I like to imagine that the guy writing the entries on the Wasteland Creatures is just an Enclave Steve Irwin
Hey Ox remember me from Friday you cheered me up when i had a bad day i just want to say thank you.
I hope if there's a next fallout the enclave appear from space with newer tech and maybe we see more of the zetan aliens
Moon base!
if they had a moon base, why wouldn't the president be there? there is no way they would be listening to a robot in raven rock if they had a moon base.
It's a sign I've acclimatised to Fallout 4 when I'm missing the Fatman shell whistle.
Loving these follow up videos Oxhorn, providing more of your unique insight and analysis of the game lore!
Again great video, good work. I think there are research outposts because when raven rock is destroyed the ones on these outposts don’t know about that and they continue to do their work OR they are retreated enclave who trains itself for the end of the war
i do think theses outposts are for both securing land in the name of the enclave and scientific research or both its just my thought on this
AAAAAAHHHHH He's got a board with a nail in it.
As a palaeontologist who does a bunch of work on taxonomy, the pronunciation of those scientific names made me wince quite a few times haha
You don’t really join them though, you just convince them to fight for a faction, or kill them
have you ever done a video about just vaultec itself? like whatever happened to them? after still somehow kinda monitoring the results of the experiments they did?
9:15 that table must have done something bad to get imprisoned
Ox: i'd like to have met "Junk Flinger"
me: ... Finger... Junk Finger
The Enclave in Fallout 3 did come from The Enclave in Fallout 2 oxhorn.
Did anyone else realize that an Enclave Hellfire trooper yelled "My leg!" When Dogmeat bit him? Even though he's wearing _Power Armor?_
26:04 body
HECKIN YEET BROTHER!!!
14:39
Order:huh?
Family:Whaa?
Genus:habuh
the fact that the east coast enclave were completely separated from the west coast enclave with no contact at all is proof enough for there to be an extremely high likelihood of there being many other enclave chapters and groups out there who exist and are healthy and active, there for we have a high likelihood of seeing a different non-remnant enclave faction at some point again in a future fallout game, which means there is a possibility that said group would actually be a good group of enclave rather than a bunch of evil dudes
You're spot on with the Mole rats. Naked Mole rats are common pets for some reason
I find it hilarious that it took oxhorn until now to realize you can shoot the ants in the antenna and make them fight each other lol.
all the Enclave Encounters throughout the Wasteland make me wanna do all the sidequests BEFORE finding James, because the gloves are off once those horned stormtroopers march in, as Three Dog put it.
I am suspecting the inconsistency in flag ASCII-art might be an indication that, without a central command, the Enclave in the area has fractured into sub-factions.
I love your use of mini nukes I always collect them and never seem to use them 🤦🏻♂️
The stars on the flag are arranged in a skull pattern at the outpost that talks about Brahmin and flies
I assure you, the Brotherhood of Steel will pay dearly
