    Enjoyed the video.
    Only wish I had seen your instructions on the slide stop pin instillation many years ago which would have eliminated some of the idiot marks on my 1911’s.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. I am well-pleased with the pistol, so far. I am just staying away from Wilson Combat "Power Mag" as they did not seem to do well in the pistol. All other magazines tried work just fine, including standard Wilson Combat magazines.

    I have a Tisas Service Special I carry around my rural property. I also have an older Ruger Military Model from the 1990's back when it was the low cost quality 1911. I think the quality, fit and finish is very equal between the two pistols. I want to get the other Tisas pistols.
    Notre how the main spring cover part of the grip at the bottom is flat. Mine has the same thing. Tisas would have to make very few changes to recreate the original M1911. I hope at some point Tisas will do that.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Both are appreciated. I also want another, or maybe two other, Tisas to have and to hold. The 10mm seems to intrigue me. My Son-In-Law has one and I'll be producing a video review of it in the future. I would also like to install the A1 arched mainspring housing, but the Sear Spring is too thick and needs t be replaced with a thinner one in order to fit common A1 mainspring housings. I have tried two and both would not work - the grip safety would de-activate after installation (and some filing work to make it fit) and that makes for an unsafe pistol. Possibly the pistol is not made to Mil-Spec, or Tisas simply uses a thicker Sear Spring than most. I have not had time to research further.

    I got my first 1911/2011 Springfield prodigy 4.25. so far I really like it. It has me looking at other models like Springfield garrisons and maybe some kimbers and eventually one day sticatto. Great video.

    I have a 1911 Duty on the way, My issue is I'd like to put my foxtrot1 light on it and put a small reddot. It's a pain finding a holster for EDC/Consealed. While I can live without the light, I've never had a firearm without a light on it. Any suggestions? :edit: Great video!:

      Thanks for watching, commenting, and for your question. Any "add-ons" to a basic pistol sometimes makes them more complicated than need be, But having lights and optics (and maybe even a laser) seems to be the current trend. Plus, finding a good holster for them that will accommodate such are sometimes difficult to find and can be more expensive.
      My personal opinion, based on a little experience, is to forego the add-ons and learn how to run the pistol as efficiently and as effectively as you can. In a close encounter of the worst kind, you may not have any time to activate such add-ons; The situation may call for (very) quickly engaging the threat without even looking at the sights, let alone trying to get everything up and running.
      I carry a small flashlight on me that has enough lumens to temporarily blind somebody, but also which can be used as a striking instrument (Kubotan) if I need it to be. I was trained in Kubotan techniques and knowing how to use one for pain compliance and control had been helpful at times (back when I was a LEO).
      Back in the day (I know that I am sounding like an old fart, but I am), we carried a three-cell on our duty belt and had a 5-cell in the company car. These were used to light up a subject or as an impact weapon before the days of the PR-24 (Three-Handle Baton) or ASP. We were also taught how to properly use a flashlight independent of the firearm.
      So, my final suggestions are; first learn to use the firearm without gadgets, and second, avail your self with some self-study on Kubotan and/or flashlight techniques - materials for both are available through the WWW and written materials.
      The last thing that I will submit to you is that while I have decided to place an optic on the pistol that I am setting up for a house gun, it will not have a flashlight mounted on it. My EDC will never have an optic or flashlight mounted.
      Just some considerations for you to ponder. I hope that I gave you something to think about.

    Waiting for mine to get to my FFL I’m doing a full Wilson combat spring conversion to shoot .45 super and .450 SMC
    So it seems to be a pretty good option for the price range it seems like it could sell for 650$! thankfully it doesn’t…

    Yet another reviewer that is unable and or unwilling to say that the Tisas is a quality 1911 that rivals most of the American made examples. He must say "for the money" and then adjust his grip after every shot taken at the range. The Tisas B45 Duty is fully forged, contains no MIM parts, and has similar features to a Springfield loaded 1911 and many of the Kimber models of which there seems to be no end. This isn't just a good 1911 for the money, this is a good 1911.

    • @RangeRoninChronicles
      @RangeRoninChronicles  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Okay, TISAS is an "Excellent" pistol. Regardless of what parts it took to make these tools, it matters not if TISAS will not warranty their tools beyond one year. With not having to experience warranty work from TISAS, while having experienced warranty work from other manufacturers (Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Kimber, Armscor, and Springfield Armory just to name a few) that do provide lifetetime warranties for original purchaser, and sometimes for not original purchasers, I would not not commit to go beyond what I said regarding the TISAS - it is a good value for the money, especially for budget-minded consumers.
      As far as my adjusting my grip with each shot taken, that is a habit of mine when I am evaluating a firearm or shooting just for pleasure. With that said, I do suffer at times from CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) and the beginnings of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Shooting sometimes aggravate those things, and sometimes need to wear a wrist brace to minimize the effects of recoil. When I shoot for real, and I do have experience with that, there is no adjusting my grip between shots.
      I invite you into my house and you want to take umbrage with what I say or do? Sir, shall I suggest that you walk a mile in my shoes before you criticize, condemn, and complain; that way you will be a mile down the road and you will have my shoes.😁

    How did your twenty five yard targets look. Powder burnt targets don't impress me.

    • @RangeRoninChronicles
      @RangeRoninChronicles  6 месяцев назад +7

      I only have a short time to assess what a firearm will do for my reviews. I evaluate initially at 7-yards. I may take it out further at a later time, but for this initial review, 21-feet would have to do. I think that powder burnt targets at "combat distance" would stop what they want to do in a real-life situation. I think that it is accurate enough. Don't you agree?
      If I were to be attacked, right now, as I sit in my office responding to your question, the intruder would be met with a 20-gauge and a 5/8-ounce slug as he came down the stairs and entered the office. No need for a .45-caliber when a .61-caliber will do.
      If someone is going to shoot at me at 25-yards, I am not going to stick around to test my shooting skills. This ain't the O.K. Coral and I am not Wild Bill Hickok.
      By the way, have a very Merry Christmas!
