I had the pleasure of seeing John in Alaska. Once in Anchorage and once in Homer . I got to shake his hand and it was such a great concert. Especially in Homer.. there was a private party afterwards. I had the pleasure of attending. We all enjoyed some MTF smoke. I'll never forget those concerts. I know he's in heaven singing away.❤❤
John Prine was a man whose words somehow went deeper than most with his unique ability to touch your inner self in places where you didn't know you had places....the news of his heartwhrencing death will linger inside of me forever. John, May you lay yourself down neath the strength of your words, R.I.P. MY BROTHER...

Look at what a jolly little old man zJohn became while we werent lookin.l...i actually met him as KIDS on the miniature train at Brookfield Zoo, not far from his house, me visiting Aunt in North Riverside close by, ended up on train together Hi! Talkin found out quick we were born 6 months apart on different sides of Lk Michigan I thought he said his name was John PRIME...only way later i saw him singin - thought wow that musta been him!! Just ridin the little train at Brookfield Zoo we went to every year for a while visiting all the Chicago relatives . 13 kids in Moms family & she met a South Haven townie from the resort next to their summer cottage, so we were farmers from Michigan & all the rest of the Fam in Chicago... RIP John Prime.

He first appeared on Austin City Limits during Season 3 in 1978, followed by a songwriters showcase during Season 8 in 1983, Season 13 in 1988, Season 17 in 1992, Season 21 in 1996, Season 28 during the 2002-2003 season, and Season 31 during the 2005-2006 season.👍
Not a 63 truck show like ,Pink Floyd at Pontiac silverdome (BEST show of my Life!) but just picks up a guitar & is the show!! Female vocal, lead guitar, harmonica, fiddle...all enhance his show, but....hes the crystal center holds it all together, inspires, laughs about it....
