- Should You Buy The Nokta Double Score?
After using the Double Score for the last week I have formed some opinions if you are considering purchasing this detector. In this video I dive into the menus and give my opinion on the machine. Is it for you? What do you think?

Minelab Equinox 900, Nokta Accupoint Pinpointer, CKG Carbon Fiber Shaft & CKG Scoop, Nokta Legend, Garret Pinpointer
Minelab Equinox 900 Settings:
Beach Mode 1 & 2
Recovery Speed 5
Iron Bias 4
Sensitivity 21-23
Ground Tracking On
All Metal Mode
5 Tones
Legend Settings:
Mode: Beach mode Multi Dry (MD)
Recovery speed : 5-7 (depends how trashy the beach is)
Iron Filter: 4
Stability : 1
Ground Suppressor (GS): 0 (off)
BC (bottle cap rejection): 6
Audio Gain: 1 (anything higher on the beach the machine becomes really chatty)
Tones: Ptones
Tone Volume: Max (10) on all 1-60
Tone Frequency Notches 1-10: 1 (makes the 1-10 iron signals a deep grunt)
Tone Frequency Notches 11-60: 27
Tone Break: Default 1-10 Iron, 11-60 normal tones
Threshold: Default
Threshold Frequency: Default
Sensitivity: will vary but from 23-28 depending on the beach

I'm not sure exactly how the DS is set up, but I've been killing it on places I've hunted with my legend, but I'm on 1.09,but I can say my legend works great and has paid for itself, but I love the way the DS grabs on to signals, I like them both,and I've been at it 20 years

Looks good, i love the BT/speaker at the same time.
After owning multiple machines over the past 30+ years I have to say the Nokta Legend has been the most interesting one for me. It can be simple and straightforward and out of box work just fine for most people without any altering of settings. But the true power won't be realized until you get into those settings and tinker with it. That is why I bought the Legend. It's been very productive and fun for me. Have a Double Score on the way for my wife. From all I've read and watched the Double Score is a good machine for anyone that wants Legend-like performance without having to tinker with settings. While the Double Score is a simplified Legend, it still offers a lot of good things in the settings like Iron Filter, notch disc, different levels of backlight and ground suppressor (Still to this day don't quite understand that one, never used it). The Triple Score though should be even better, but it is even closer to Legend price. Nice review you did on this, it made a lot of sense. And now with the price reduction on the Score line, it's $349 for the Double Score. That makes a huge difference.

I like the ultra all the bells and whistles minus the multi frequency. All the next generation machines are the legend broke up in pieces.
Can anyone tell me if the 0 - 60 range is a BIG downside to getting this detector vs. 0 - 100? if so why? If not why? This is the only feature stopping me from getting the double score vs legend. Any advice would be great! Please help me decide.
No real difference tbh, just preference in my opinion.

How far do you screw the connection in? The metal piece on mine just keeps spinning, I think it's broken, even though it works.
I don't see how it would be waterproof. The metal piece separates from the rubber tubing if you keep screwing it in..
Not quite sure what your asking. Can you elaborate and I can try and help.
As the manual says screw it in until you hear a faint click or a click then it is in place. Maybe your screw is stripped
Before I watched the video, just watched the Intro, I think if you want a multi frequency machine only, your choices are just the vanquish or the score, and I would prefer the score, but legend, equinox, deus, rather one of those three
I went whit the dubble score since the legend cost 800$ here and the elite is 700$ here and we won't be getting the triple score here. So i picked up the dubble score for 450$ to replace my vanquish 340

I enjoy all of your videos and livestreams. Since you now have some experience with both the The Nikta Double Score and the Minelab X-Terra Pro, which detector would you recommend for a first time buyer?
In all honesty John, I would probably go with the xterra pro just because of the price point. The only CON on the xterra pro, is you have to use the minelab wireless headphones which aren't cheap. But even with the headphones its still cost less than the Double Score.

I'm thinking about Double Score or X-Terra Pro as well, both of them cost the very same price here.. Still would you prefer X-Terra Pro? I walk mostly the fields, sometimes forest..no beaches at all.. Many thanks.
Hey there! Welcome! Look into the nokta tripple score or the minelab xterra elite. Both multi frequency machines and would get the job done without breaking the bank. Appreciate the support.
I also agree the price is too close to the legend to be useful, save for an an extra while and get the legend
Man over here in Canada, the price of the Legend is almost double the price of the double score. ($806 + Tx's vs. $479 + Tx's) If it were only a couple of hundred more I'd make the jump, but I don't have that kind of money to fork out on an advanced machine. What about the alternative Minelab X-terra Pro ($404 + Tx's) is that a machine with just as many options as the Legend? Personally I prefer the overall look of the Nokta's & the company seems to really care about customers, but for me it's all about more bang for the buck. What are your thoughts on this SOFLO?
Hey Bert. The legend far exceeds the xterra pro in the customizable settings at your finger tips. If your looking for a good machine without breaking the bank, the new xterra elite looks really nice at a decent price point. I was going to buy the DS but ended up just buying the Legend instead.
can someone explain how this detector can be multi-frequency, if its operating frequency is stated to be 15khz? if it's a multi-frequency detector, shouldn't it write a larger range of frequencies? 😅
I am not sure what operating frequencies it uses while in Multi-frequency mode, BUT you can only use 15Khz while in single frequency mode, which is a good all around frequency. I guess its an intended limitation to push you over to the legend if you want more flexibility and more single frequency options.
@@SOFLOTreasureFinds this also interested me. i cant find any documentation on what or how many frequencies DS actualy has other than the 15khz single. if anyone has found any info on this id love to know. Great vid
You CAN use the Nokta headphones on the SCORE. I believe you misspoke !!
You are correct, I did mis speak thats my fault. You CAN use the bluetooth headphones with the score. I must have misread when I was comparing the two. My fault.
