I want to amplify the comments before me. I have an old detector and haven't used it (except to locate dropped construction screws in my back pasture) for years. Was considering getting back into detecting but not looking forward to the annoying learning curve. I'd guess this video just eliminated about 70-80% of that curve. Thanks for posting such a concise and complete tutorial. I am ordering my Triple Scone now.
This unit is my very first detector ever. Having just received my Triple Score and reviewing the user manual, I thank god I had the foresight to research videos beforehand and came across yours. For a total newbie the manual might as well have written in Arabic. Your tutorial however is brilliant!! I thoroughly can grasp the menu items as you explain them so clearly. I will have to go over sections of your video more than once as I get accustomed to my unit, but that’s the fun of learning. Thank You so much for this video!! You saved the day for me!!!!!!
I have the Legend and I won a Triple Score from Nokta, during the live release. It's like having a "baby" legend..... It will be a game changer for those looking to get into detecting with a very capable detector. For the Price they will be asking, It's an amazing machine.

Your video is by far the most thorough, easy to follow and well-filmed for the Triple Score. Other videos try to tell you how to navigate the menus, but are outside and you cannot see a thing on the display. Thanks. This tutorial was just what I needed. My very old white died about 20 years ago and I've not been detecting since. I've still got the urge but didn't think I could afford a new one. Now that I'm retired and don't have the expense of driving, 40 miles everyday, buying lunch etc etc., I'm going to do it. Thanks again. Oh yeah, one other thing, Nokta should hire you to demo the dectectors.

But the triple score is easier to use. And love the lighted keys. Thanks again . I would buy one except I already have two Legends.

I have a Score 3 on the way and I have a Score 2 also. It will be interesting to see the comparisons. The menu and settings look similar. Few more extra options but I am told is pretty much a slimmed down version of the Legend which should be good enough for me. Your tutorials are very easy to understand! Kudos!

Excellent tutorial. I need to take some notes on which icons do what. I have a Legend but struggled with the menu/sub menu for some reason. I also got mine before carbon fiber rod, the newer stock coil, newer elliptical coil. It would have cost me more for those 3 parts than the whole new machine, lol. I love the lighted keypad and white accents too, thanks
Jason, when you came out with the original instruction video for the legend, it was great help to me getting started on that machine , since then there been loads of updates. I know it’s probably a hassle for you, but I would love to see you do another one, including, all the updates. For the legend.
Good video, very detailed. It is better than the videos put out by most of the makers. I am sure it will help a lot of people interested in this detector. I personally don't care much for Nokta. I guess that I just got too spoiled with my AT Max, Deus 2, and Manticore. If I ever need to purchase a 4th machine, I hope to find videos as detailed as this one. Great video.
Well done. I first got a Score. Then upgraded to the Double. I think you mentioned all three models have the notch feature. I am pretty sure the basic Score does NOT notch.

The Triple score has a rechargeable battery for both the detector and the wireless headphones. We will be field testing the new triple score, to determine how closely it compares to the Legend.

I'm thinking about getting a second detector and have been looking at the Legend up until I watched the livestream on the other night. I'm thinking of buying a gold plus, but then I seen this with the crazy high frequencies. I'm not sure what to do now.. although it's always best I think to go with what's new.

Yes you can submerge the entire detector underwater to 5 meters. The speaker is designed for this. However, headphones may be needed if you are underwater with the detector in order to hear it better. And obviously, you'll want headphones if the detector is underwater but you are above water. But the detector also has a vibrating handle so depending on your needs, headphones may not be required. It really depends on the user. ***The manual states that once the detector comes out of the water, the external speaker may seem muffled at first but that's just because there is water next to the speaker itself which is normal. To get the water out, lightly shake the detector so the water can escape through the holes on the speaker cover.
An update is available on the Nokta site which has solved this problem and a couple others. Nokta is doing a great job listening to customers and tweaking the programs.
My father and I hunt together many times in close proximity. Could we both get Nokta detectors and not constantly have interference between us? Can the frequencies be easily changed? Thanks all!
Yes you can use the noise cancellation feature which will give slight frequency changes to avoid other electromagnetic signals on the same frequency band.

Hi Victor. The Vortex looks to be a fine machine, but if you compare what you’re getting with settings, features, extra gear, and all at a lower price tag, I think the answer might be clear.
Can you let me know if the Triple Score (with it's added features + hardware) is worth the additional $200.00 Cdn., Compared to the Double Score? I am seriously thinking of gettting one of them as my 1st machine, but wonder if I really need the additional features, Headphones & Coil being a newbie to the hobbie? I'm also wondering if I will get confused with all the additional settings of the Triple Score? Seven hundred bucks is already getting to be a bit much money for a new hobbie that I "think" I'll like, but I also am of the mineset that it'd be nice to have the option so I can progress with the more expensive Triple Score should the hobbie become something I treasure (pardon the punn lol).
The Legend is more robust with more fine tuning of settings and additional features and settings in general. The Triple Score would fall just under the Legend in both price and performance.
How the heck do I get my speaker to make noise again? I have the headset paired and no matter what settings I have put on, the rear speaker is silent. I am running software 1.2.
@conmullen5856 oh I have. Doesn't change anything. Volume at 6 and it's dead silent with Bluetooth off. I even factory reset it and it didn't fix it. I think software 1.2 has some bugs
You can buy the Legend for just $40 more, granted it does not come with headphones and extra coil but its a superior machine. With more frequencies and options.
Not coming with a set of LL headphones and a second coil negates your “The Legend is only $40 more than the Triple Score” comment, no? Not exactly comparing apples to apples. Firstly, the Legend alone is $100 more than the Triple Score Pro Pack, not $40. Secondly, the Triple Score alone is better described as being maybe $40 more than a Double Score alone, which means the Triple Score, detector only, is roughly $200 less than the Legend. That’s a LOT of machine and accessories for your money, IMO.
This will come in handy searching the bottom of my 25' deep pond. I'll just have to stay out of the deep end and work on holding my breath longer. Wonder how it will hold up against that angry snapping turtle.
V’s, Buffs, and Jeffersons all hit right around 26 and at quite deep depths too too. Shields come in a tick lower, around 25 typically but still very strong signals from their density.
An ordinary nail toy as well as a legend, like any other. At first, apparently beautiful and functional advertised for sale, then one realizes that one is just throwing money in the trash, because one does not get anything in return.

Yes it can detect all metals but also discriminate out unwanted ones. Battery lasts around 8-12 hours depending on what features you have activated.
Maybe next time you could explain Quantum mechanics with some string theory just for good measure. Thanks!

$655 cdn for the propack. You get an extra coil and wireless headphones. I currently swing the Equinox but may pick one of these up. Def worth it IMO!

Yes you can use any Bluetooth headphones or earbuds but they need to be low latency. Also known as Bluetooth Aptx.

Try turning Bluetooth off on the machine and check the volume level

You can buy the Legend for just $40 more, granted it does not come with headphones and extra coil but its a superior machine. With more frequencies and options.
Not coming with a set of LL headphones and a second coil negates your “The Legend is only $40 more than the Triple Score” comment, no? Not exactly comparing apples to apples.
Firstly, the Legend alone is $100 more than the Triple Score Pro Pack, not $40.
Secondly, the Triple Score alone is better described as being maybe $40 more than a Double Score alone, which means the Triple Score, detector only, is roughly $200 less than the Legend. That’s a LOT of machine and accessories for your money, IMO.
This will come in handy searching the bottom of my 25' deep pond. I'll just have to stay out of the deep end and work on holding my breath longer. Wonder how it will hold up against that angry snapping turtle.
You can get little pump up tanks to use while underwater. Usually get about 10 minutes.
How do the noktas do with nickles? Like v's?
V’s, Buffs, and Jeffersons all hit right around 26 and at quite deep depths too too. Shields come in a tick lower, around 25 typically but still very strong signals from their density.

An ordinary nail toy as well as a legend, like any other. At first, apparently beautiful and functional advertised for sale, then one realizes that one is just throwing money in the trash, because one does not get anything in return.
Exercise, fresh air, camaraderie with other detectorists/public, listening to the sounds of nature, finding history.......just to name a few.
I wish that the live would not have been during the Presidential debate

Nothing in the book showing charging of headphones???
The headphones plug into a micro USB port at the bottom of the right ear cup to charge. Odd it’s not mentioned, but maybe they figured that’s self evident?
