My approach: 1. assemble important looking electrical stuff 2. skip through most of this video 3. disassemble wheel 4. drop 3 screws small enough to not be able to find them but large enough to traumatise the dog 5. pull out circuitathinamebob 6. butcher the absolute bejesus out of the board solder vs. arc welding - no difference. 7. buy bike racing game
5v from wheel to IN+, ground from wheel to IN-, and the buttons go to COM and NO. on the wheel its the outer wires on either side. one is black and the other is red to make it easy to identify.
Ive been looking around for a handbrake video but... I don't want to open my wheel as I am scared of breaking it, do u know if the USB way works for console?
im sorry but im just not sure what you mean by usb way. i would start by saying that an additional controller will not be able to be used on consoles. you have mod the wheel to have a handbrake and use the wheel at the same time. so without opening your wheel the only way i see is a usb bypass with an arduino repeater / emulator with the handbrake wired to the arduino with custom code for necessary button. simple enough... lol

Michael Baird at least for now. The Xbox is rumoured to get support for USB devices in its next major update. That probably won't make it work just yet, but it is a step in the right direction
Could you not just go in settings and make it a sequential gear stick using 3rd and fourth and then make like 2nd gear on the stick your handbrake? Just an idea I don't know
Then i assume 4th gear would be your handbrake and you can shift with your paddles. But in actuall practice paddles with handbrake sucks and sequential stick or h pattern will be much nicer

Viking Elite Racing and the connectors essentially go away as one end goes to the relay,the other to the circuit board (as in the usb is only plugged to ensure power)?
would have been nice you showed you connecting green and white wires. i am new to soldering and cant figure out how to connect to button contacts. i dont want to drill a hole somewhere and fuck it up. help if ya could
that was such a pain in the butt, what i would do is drill 2 tiny holes on the contact places, put the wire through the holes and solder the wires in place, i have another wheel i was thinking about modding and ill try to do it that way and show more clearly.
well im in the process now. is there certain points where to drill. in car x drift i try to set the handbrake and just touch the wires to it and have a friend pull and its not setting the handbrake as B. i hear the relay clicking when i pull it. set up just like yours. does it have to be solder in for the connection? i can push the b button and set it but it wont signal the b button when signaling the relay.
Yes it works with any console or pc. I used the B button because Forza is the intended game to be played. for asseto corsa the x button will be needed, project cars allows you to remap almost every button, and idk what dirt rally uses.

i just looked at the ebrake and ran the wires so when its pulled the wires contact each other. i would use a switch but i didnt have a suitable one

its just the two wire i soughtered to the transceiver remote that when touch complete the circuit and activate the relay.

Where did you wire on the remote itself? Tried it and even when the wires aren’t touching, the light is always on so the circuit is always closed

you will need to scrape off a bit of the top layer to expose the copper, be careful and try again.
scraped it off and connect wires direct and acts as if b button is constantly on.
