  • This is a Kickboxing Tabata Drill. It's a 4 minute set that consists of 8 rounds of 20 second high impact drills, with 10 seconds rest in between each round. This is done with a Thai Heavy Bag and is good to add to any of your Muay Thai or regular Kickboxing drills to add combat style interval training.

+Isaac Khampha Yeah, I like to do this same set about 4 times through (so 4 tabatas of it) to increase my stamina and endurance for kicking and punching. You can always change the combos for other sets as well.

+brood9maa thank you. i like this answer. i will include this 3-4 set to my usual training 3 times a week. i think 4 times is too much.

nice tabata man! I kinda have an issue when doing the roundhouses, the bag moves too much side to side which interrupts the intensity of the exercise, was thinking of putting something heavy under the bag and attach it to it xD

+Maxi Albina Thanks man! Yeah if you have something heavy, or someone to hold it while you do it it can really help with the speed and intensity of the tabata.

A used, spare tire works well to hold bag in place
