Grappling Strength Workout
Unconventional Training Challenge Training
We used this to not only get ready for the UTC that took place on 11/30/2013 but also to get ready for Grappling Competitions as well. Helps with not only overall Strength & Conditioning, but your grip strength, stamina, core strength, balance and stability. We do these drills as a Drop Set, starting with 10 Reps, then 6, 6, 4 then 2. Finishing all the reps before we move onto the next exercise.

- Gi Belt Pull-Ups
- Guard Lifts and Twists
- Stationary Bear Crawls
- Suspension Stap Pike & Alternating Knee Push-Ups
- Gi Belt Kettlebell Single Arm Deadlift to Upright Row

    nice tabata man! I kinda have an issue when doing the roundhouses, the bag moves too much side to side which interrupts the intensity of the exercise, was thinking of putting something heavy under the bag and attach it to it xD

      +Maxi Albina Thanks man! Yeah if you have something heavy, or someone to hold it while you do it it can really help with the speed and intensity of the tabata.

      +Isaac Khampha Yeah, I like to do this same set about 4 times through (so 4 tabatas of it) to increase my stamina and endurance for kicking and punching. You can always change the combos for other sets as well.

    you can always just do the lock with your arm instead of using your legs but of course you cant go for a choke if you do that.

    If you sink the move in when he goes for the roll out, he actually gets stuck himself, but also if you want to synch it in more to ensure he doesn't roll out, you can do a high crotch grab like with the omoplata to ensure he can't roll. :)

    Totally legal. I doubt you'd ever see it though. Too high risk for the fighter executing it, and the odds of a fighter who's good enough to even be looked at by the UFC getting caught in something like that are pretty slim. Sick move, though.

    Standing lebell lock is good, but I never had the balance. I have to use the seated.
