This really is excellent for beginners because it even incorporates some basic footwork like angling with a hook and switch footwork. Guarantee you a lot of these will actually be used in sparring or fighting.
Love the last one, haven't really come across it before. I also think starting combos with the right straight can be great. Straight right into left hook to the body into right head kick, try it peeps :)
Im new to Muay Thai been goin for a few months but I've picked it up really quick(former soccer player) and I'm gonna try and use some of these in my sparring next week! Thanks guys.
+Chase “KidSynth” McWilliams i guess so. since your hands are already above head level you just go straight down. other stances keep your hands below head level so when elbowing you gotta bring it up first then down. yea so its faster in a way
Do people do weight transfers between feet or stay pretty evenly weighted? Had a personal trainer drill me on jab from rear foot, cross transfer weight to lead leg, then swing kick with rear with no weight on it, don't see a lot of people doing that weight shifting though. I know traditional muay thai used to be pretty heavy on rear leg but now it seems like it's pretty even weight distribution
I think that given that the world is a fairly open place nowadays you could hold a separate argument as to what is and what is not Muay Thai. The East influences the West and vice versa. The spectrum on which Kickboxing and Muay Thai lies can often crossover to the point where it looks the same at times, even though in practise they can also often be seen as a million miles apart. You say tomato, I say tomato. I hope you enjoyed the video regardless, I think Robin is a great coach!
Awesome. Not flashy, just basics that really are effective.

Nice!
Very interesting ideas. As a beginner it would be useful to see the footwork all the time. That's the thing the most difficult to follow. Well done.

This is great, thanks. I'm practicing these before my next Muay Thai sparring sesh.
I train with this man a d his partner Vicky. They are both fantastic coaches and highly skilled in everything they do.
Good vid. 1-2, right low kick is one of my favs to use. The cross just covers up the roundhouse so nicely.
Really great combos, simple and effective! Love it.
great, useful combos. love the pivots and the pushes mixed in to set up angles.
Just what I was looking for. RUclips algorithm actually came through
I used a few of these in sparring tonight. Thanks for posting.
thank you easy to use and remember perfect keep on
Nice job, thanks! A beginner

FIRE!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video!
For sure, Robin did an excellent job with this video!
love it...that first combo is a liver shot for a southpaw ;) but idk about leadin a combo wit a body kick..risky business
Rob Sheps irrelevant... sum shots r obviously more risky than others...pretty simple
I'd love to see a similar video made for southpaws.
Nah, you guys have enough of an advantage as it is!
@@johnboylan3832 I can't argue. That makes sense.
Five stars! Awesome
Great vid! love to see more!
Great video, now make a video how to effectively defend yourself from all this :)
Would love too, what you reckon Stuart? Another few vids? 😂
Ha ha, are you trying to make my life harder ;-) jokes aside, that sounds like not a bad idea, I will bear that in mind!!
Ha ha, they can't get enough of you Robin ;-)
Any chance you could do a southpaw vs orthodox video like this?
Nice video as always! How come nobody holds their hands in the traditional Thai way anymore?
i still do
+Prev E I'm sure you can elbow people faster too right?
+Chase “KidSynth” McWilliams i guess so. since your hands are already above head level you just go straight down. other stances keep your hands below head level so when elbowing you gotta bring it up first then down. yea so its faster in a way
Prev E Yeah I thought so thanks! I haven't seen a gym that shows that way unfortunately.
i still do, but eventually if u aren't quick enough u well get hits in the ribs

Kosta L definitely weight transfer , all shots and defence start with the legs
Padrão
ok
Glad you enjoyed watching this, Robin has done a fantastic job with this video, make sure you check out some of his others on this channel!!
Only bad thing I see is he’s kicking with his foot not his shin but everything else is good
Kick boxing
it looks like kickboxing to me not Muay Thai.Nice video although
Wtf are you talking about
4:03 , My friend, don't throw your round house kicks flat footed, get up on
the ball of your foot and or toes.
The number of crap videos I had to wade through to get to meat and potatoes.
Oooft, did this guy nab your girl or something? - nice brutal basics mind
soem techniques are not muay thai they are kickboxing
