I had recently got that Spiritualized album also. Great album. That Wall do Voodoo album was quite good, I bought it after RSD also. I’m shocked it was going for that much. Thanks for the band amp link, most appreciated. Posters are cool but yes they do stay locked up in the sleeves never to be seen but we feel good knowing we have them.
On first glance, I'd say that etching on the Morrissey 12" resembles Oscar Wilde - and that certainly would be on-point! Surprisingly, Wall of Voodoo is a discography that has passed me by, and a lot of people rave about them. I will definitely listen to Mr. Rankins music!
@@EmbryonicRobot On the list it goes. Which of course, at this point, it's just a list in my head. I stopped writing stuff down months ago! But, I see Wall of Voodoo out there enough to remember.. 😎
Very cool that you and Jason got to meet up again. 999 record looks good. I almost picked up that Spiritualized record over the weekend when I saw it at the record store, but then decided against it. Maybe I'll go back for it. I used to put up posters on my wall when I was a kid, but most of the posters I get in records now just stay folded up in the sleeve. Kind of a waste but I still like getting them. Or sticker sheets. Or maps. All that stuff is fun to have. Thanks for showing the records Brian!
Spiritualized is consistently great. I think I'd rather have a print or something that hasn't been folded in an album. But, maybe I would feel differently if I had more wall space 😃
Awww HP, thank you so much for the free promo 👍 Velouria is an amazing Pixies song. I remember watching the video on late night music TV & always thinking come on Kim you can beat them!! Tangerine Dream's soundtrack to Thief is really good & I think that's 80's. Not a bad film either. When Edgar was still alive I got to see them do the Sorcerer soundtrack live while the film was on the big screen as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival. I agree and think the 70's stuff is the best. You gotta get the UK Smiths 12"s when you see 'em I think. Laser Guided Melodies is amazing and they are one of the best live bands too. The vinyl reissues with the re-imagined artwork are really well done I think. The last time I saw them they played with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra & a choir. It was insane! Yep fetching vinyl. When you think about it Mexican Radio is a strange song to have been successful. All my posters are still in the records. I have had great ideas to frame some of the best ones but of course that has never happened. Hell of a cover for Lullaby Orchestra. Ooo if there is a Do Make Say Think connection I'm interested. I don't know Nine x3. Our number is 000 in case you're ever here & have an emergency 👍
Did I say that the promo was free? Cool Edgar story. That would have been great to see. Thief is one of the CDs I used to have. Sorcerer too. Where did they go? Spiritualized with an orchestra and choir! Wow, wounds impressive. Funny, in NZ, I was told that it is 999 like the UK. Both 000 and 999 are better than 911. It's faster, I think. I'll try to remember if I ever find myself in Australia. I may need it.

Hey Brian, nice additions to your collection. I need more Pixies records! One of these bands I came recently/late to, so now I am trying to catch up. Rubicon and Phaedra are the only two Tangerine Dream records I do have in my collection so far, TBH I'm not familiar with their later/mid-80s material. Well, due to the many line-up changes by that time, it is almost as if it was a completely different band from one album to another. I didn't know you were a Smiths/Morrissey fan (French humor/sarcasm sorry about that).
Nice pickups Brian. I've come to really enjoy the Pixies after getting several of the RSD releases. I've added some CD titles even though I have on vinyl because hearing the entire album w/o getting up......well alcohol has been a factor 😊
Greg, You have just identified one of the key benefits of CDs. I hear you on that one! I have also been know to fall asleep unexpectedly without any alcohol 🙂 The couch may have been a factor.
Hey Brian. Great video. Cool Tangerine Dream snags. I'm a huge Edgar Froese fan. Great Wall Of Voodoo snag as well, good things come to those that wait. Cheers
Once again you draw us in with a great presentation… That Morrissey is very cool, The Cult, one of my favorite bands and can you believe I can never find OG pressings and when I do so so expensive… Just might have to purchase new… Curious about 999… Thanks again 🎶✌🏼
Hey Olivier - Thanks for the nice words. I never feel that I give a great presentation. I'm always entertained by your very natural camera presence! I'm a sucker for Morrissey and Smiths items. I just can't help myself. . .
Hiya! 👋😃 Another fine video- glad to see I’m not the only Smiths/Mozz hound in the VC! I had to pause when you showed that Cult album to compare my UK og pressing- starts with Horse Nation & Spiritwalker 🤔 Truth told I haven’t played that in years (now it’s in the ‘play me’ pile) Cheers-R
I still haven't heard the 1980's. I'm slacking! Everything Pixies is fantastic. Nice etching on the Smiths record. For how much I like Wall of Voodoo, I have never owned any of their releases. I really need to hear Lullaby Arkestra! 999 is a cool group. Great finds. Cheers!
I will check out the link for Ben. I remember playing Bossanova by the Pixies as a kid and Velouria is a standout track. I need to add that one to my collection. You can find a nice spot somewhere for that Wall of Voodoo poster, maybe on a wall. Really nice 999 pick up!
The Mozza etching is supposed to be Oscar Wilde I think? I like your videos Brian as I would have brought all of those records as well , amd you show a fair few I’ve got too ! The live track on that Morrissey single was at the legendary free gig which I was at with my smiths t shirt for entrance! Stay well 👍🫡🇬🇧
Another commenter suggested that the etching is of Oscar Wilde, and I have to agree that this makes sense. I've heard about that free Smiths show, but I was in the wring hemisphere! I am so unlucky 😔
Im thinking about that Wall of Voodoo still. They are so quirky. A bit like Gun Club meets Devo. That Ring of Fire version sounds like it could be from Suicide. Nice scores overall! Glad you picked up the 999. Good UK 70s pop punk
Gun Club meets Devo is a really interesting thought. You might be right! I am enjoying 999. I may have to get some more. Their records seem to be fairly inexpensive 👍
I have original UK pressings of Singles Going Steady, Another Music In A Different Kitchen, & Love Bites plus an original Canadian pressing of A Different Kind Of Tension & Parts 1-3. After that, I have nothing. I was late to them, though. I will have a look for Biggest Prize in Sport. I thin k I have seen it fairly often.

I like Spiritualized too, but only have one album on CD. “$25, That’s a lot better than $50”…You should pin that poster up in the bedroom just to see Cecile’s reaction. That’s totally something I would do. 😂 I have that Cult record. Cool that you have Southern Death Cult. That’s something I don’t have. Nine Nine Nine I actually thought I didn’t know until you mentioned that track “Homicide”..I remember that one. Nice haul Brian! ✌️
“I don’t often like to buy things twice." I should send that to Morrissey 🙂 Maybe I should put up that poster :) I also have a Death Cult 12" single. The sad thing about Nine Nine Nine is that I am now forced to spend money on getting some of their other records ﹩$ $
Sounds like you have retained your deep DJ voice. You really should get some insurance on that voice just in case it doesn't last forever. Ooooooo nice Pixies EP/maxi-single. Did you ever have a chance to listen to their cover of "Que Sera, Sera"? "Poland" is a pretty great recording from TD. I do like the earlier stuff like you said, the later music seemed to be less experimental, but they did come out with a few great albums during their 80's run. One of those that I absolutely love is "Le Parc", but for the most part, I prefer the earlier works. Love that Spiritualized album, one of their best albums, I think. I have most of their material digitally and a few on CD, but nothing on vinyl yet. I probably would have paid $25 for that Wall of Voodoo EP, I think it's worth it. I always just leave the posters in with the album jacket. Great album from The Cult, my copy has the other track listing. Whoa....Lullabye Arkestra, I love "Ampgrave", I didn't know they were putting out another one. I always tend to get them mixed up with Black Ox Orkestar probably because they are both on Constellation and their names are a bit similar. Amazing pick ups!
I hadn't heard the Pixies doing "Que Sera, Sera" so I just fired it up on YT. It's a pretty good version, better than the original 🙂 I'll keep my eyes open for reasonably-priced TD records. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of Poland. Spitritualized has been amazingly consistent. I think I have made the same mistake with Black Ox Orkestar and Lullabye Arkestra. Orkestar - Arkestra!
I have The Pixies Doolittle album but for some reason have never sought out any more of their material. What should be next? I feel a Morrissey singles ranking in the future. I now have two Stan Ridgeway albums but have yet to pick up a Wall of Voodoo album. Interesting pickups. Happy listening.
