I remember when Bon Scott died...And I was somewhat surprised that this band announced that they were carrying on...Really? How would they address this? Ignore it...Take some weird left field turn? "We're a progressive rock band, now"...No...Head on...This massive dark intro that acknowledged the loss, then cranked full on into a tribute to his spirit, their love for him, and their determination to do what they did...Bon would've loved this...And it was so life-affirming...
I remember too, I was only a kid at the time but my older cousin was a huge ACDC fan (travelled to see them in concert a few times) and she was gutted. I remember listening to the Bon Scott era stuff with her (only thing I can really thank my extended family for is an excellent introduction to a lot of different music), and also being very confused that the band were continuing after the lead singer was gone because I just couldn't understand how that would work. And then Back in Black came out, I got the cassette of it for Christmas, and it was like 'Oh, okay, so that's how they're gonna do it, awesome!' I still mostly listen to the Bon Scott stuff though, because that was just my first AC/DC introduction and love, but yeah even young as I was I appreciated the transition to Brian Johnson. Ride on though, Bon.
They really did fucking nail it with Brian Johnson! I'm too young to have ever experienced... Well, most of the things, really =D I was born in ´84, but i do find myself loving a lot of the hard rock and metal from the very beginnings as well as the really early rock stuff as well. Back in black is just such a fucking masterpiece and the process of them mourning and simultaneously going on and finding Brian... Well, it's just epic!
They approached Noddy Holder of Slade but he turned them down for whatever reason, then someone recommended Brian who was lead singer with Geordie in the 70s.
I don't know how many people know this but, Bon Scott PICKED HIS OWN REPLACEMENT! He said, one night when they were in a club, listening to some local talent, "if anything ever happens to me, get this guy!" and they never skipped a beat because, it was like it was with Bon's blessing.
sopwithsnoopy Angus Young gets a LOT of his inspiration from Chuck Berry. That’s what got him started on guitar and that’s where his stage persona comes from. ACDC has always been blues incorporated rock n roll
I saw an interview with Angus, and the interviewer asked him, 'what do you say to people who say that all 11 of your albums sound exactly the same?" Angus said, "I'd say that they are wrong. It's 12 albums..." 🤣

I bought this Album when I was 10 yrs old in 1981 and still crank it out today as if it's my first time hearing it....one of the best albums of all time.
This was the very first time in my life that I fell in love with the multi layers of the drums (texture, conplexity). I was like 10 or 11 years old but hearing it just now took me right back there. Like revisiting a first love. Yes, I was lucky enough to have this music in my life since grade school, back when it was new to the world.
I was born '92 but raised on 80s(and back) rock/metal, grandma had me listening to old country, mom had me listening to 80s pop stuff. Id say i was well rounded musically. Rock always came out on top for me though.
@@retirewithoptions2913 sadly, I KNOW that much of the generation born after the 80s ISNT metal aware....hell musically aware in general. We are older parents to a teen. Since she was a tot, I've been around teens (12 years+ now) and these kids I am with DO NOT know ANYTHING about music from a time before themselves. Their parents dont share their music, and they have no desire to hear it. It's not like when we were kids and everyone had to listen to the radio station the parents liked in the car. Everyone has their own devices and headphones now. Our kid was baby head banging at like 2 to all the greats...and now wants nothing to do with them....well will tolerate Metalica. Sad but true. Today's kids are musically ignorant. They are fed a regular diet of garbage from "the industry" and are taught that EVERYTHING about the previous generations is evil...especially if it has ANYTHING to do a white male.
This is the album that made me finally decide to learn guitar. Decades and a few bands later I have never regretted this decision. You SHOULD learn guitar too. (Your mom is right. This group was always great in concert. I went every time. They are often better in concert than their albums)
I’m 22 and been listening to them since I was born. My dad got hooked in 1979 and saw them live in 83 at the Flick of the Switch tour. I saw them twice during Black Ice. Greatest live band I’ve ever seen
He’s a hiphop head, he’s probably heard alot of AcDc songs before, just like alot of other people he just didn’t know who they really are lol.. just like alot of my rapper friends.. they know the songs, but don’t really know who they are lol
Hells Bells has always been my favorite AC/DC song and my favorite Angus Young guitar solo. Not only have I seen AC/DC live in concert a couple of times but I also got to meet them backstage on their Razors Edge tour. Yes, Angus and Malcolm were exceptionally short (I'm nearly a foot taller than Angus). During one of their live shows, I got to meet the drummer (Scott Travis) for Judas Priest in the audience while the band was playing For Those About To Rock. By contrast, Scott is one of the tallest musicians I've ever met. Loved the 21-gun salute.
Tell your mom I first saw AC/DC July 4th 1978 and I was 17. Angus got on a roadies shoulders and went through the crowd just shredding away! It was still to this day the most energy in any concert I have ever went to and I am still going to them today!
if you don't know back in black .... JUST DO IT ... that's illegal ... you have to hear it ... please please ... AC DC it's such a huge band .. this name it's in the history of music .. such a huge simple and unique sound .. try - Back In Black ... or - Thunderstruck .. or everything you want by them !! i grew up listening to them ... they're amazing ..
Well, wait till U see Angus Young move fast, all around the stage banging his head all the time...and he has done so for 40 years. He is one of the best for sure, and still playing.
The live version is pretty dope as well! The lead singer Brian Johnson starts the song by running across the stage and jump up and swings off the big bell
Best version. The way Angus jumps up on that platform in the beginning and starts playing the riff is epic af and when the crowd starts growling the vocal melody, wooooooooo talk about chills.
Damn Alex.... put them guns away bruh...lookin' as carved as a turkey my dude... happy Thanksgiving to you, Sarah, and Ozzie. Have a dope ass day man \m/
Angus Young....seen him in concert a couple of times. One time he got on a huge guys (security guard) shoulders and walked him around the floor of the Summit in Houston, Texas playing his guitar. Fantastic!!
we had really a great youth with bands like acdc, iron maiden, judas priest, accept, motörhead, tool, metallica, black sabbath, soundgarden, aic, type o negative, new model army, sepultura etc pp... and what has the youth today...?? swift, grande, gaga, gomez, cyrus, drake and all the other cheap shit...
Isidro Ricardo, he's tried but gotten copyright bumped each time. I have found a 'fan made video' of the doing "Stairway to Heaven" live, that he could use... if he/ #Alex would ever listen to me! The channel name is 'OLD TAPES'.
That's why I dont see zeppelin reactions, I forgot that they have a hard copyright policy. But how is that there are many channels that upload material like how the west was won or the song remains the same? Maybe he could try with something like ruclips.net/video/wEPog_WdPE4/видео.html I see that video many times (many more times hahaha)
When I watch all these reaction videos to good old rock bands I feel like I'm hearing the music again for the first time with the reactors. Always an interesting thing
Alex man can you please do Blind Guardian-Mirror mirror live from imaginations through the looking glass?!?!?!?! Also Blind Guardian- Valhalla live is reeeaaally epic too!!!!! You'll love it!!!! And when we're at it throw in Blind Guardian-The bard's song (in the forest) live as well!!!!
Damn, first time hearing this, that song... I'm like under witch rock have you been living???? And then I'm jealous becaus then there's still so mutch to explore. Keep o going and rocking.
@@busimagen The semi-hollow body has a slightly more resonate tone compared to the solid body. As such, you generally use a little less distortion with the semi-hollow. It should also be noted this particular semi-hollow has a very large hollow space compared to most semi-hollows. Dave Grohl plays a more sleek and modern version of the semi-hollow, but doesn't get quite the resonance of a guitar of that size.
Ya gotta remember he's younger guys. I know that sounds bad.. even to me because AC/DC was big when I was a kid. So I'm getting old too...lol But I'm glad a younger guy can start listening and enjoying.
How the hell do you not know this song? That is one of the most iconic songs on earth because it’s on one of their most iconic albums. I am a beginner guitarist and I already know this, I’m a lady so ya know. At 1:54 did you just say you don’t think you know one AC/DC song? I’ve heard them all and I’m only 20!!!! But it’s cool that you’re getting into them better late than never. And if you have never seen them live then you need to go see them. When they tour again which they are going to soon. They have been around for a long time they have been around basically since rock ‘n’ roll was born. I do love how he said “whooo look at that guitar!” When they first showed Malcolm! Rock in peace Malcolm! 1953-2017!!!! Also to answer your question that is a gretsch white falcon widely known because of this particular guitarist Malcolm! The same for his gretsch jet fire birds !
Although I like Brian Johnson and what he brought to AC/DC, you really need to listen to older AC/DC with Bon Scott. He brought a dirty, sexy, blues rock feel to the band. The contrast between Brian and Bon make AC/DC sound like almost completely different bands, even though you hear the same R&B rock riffs with both. Bon just took this band to another level and when he died, many of us fans didn't think Brian Johnson could keep this band rising as they were before Bon died. He definitely proved us all wrong, as the Back in Black album proved. I still go back and watch the older videos of Bon...he was the TRUE sound of AC/DC.
If the Back in Black album doesn't move you, then your probably already dead

This was the very first time in my life that I fell in love with the multi layers of the drums (texture, conplexity). I was like 10 or 11 years old but hearing it just now took me right back there. Like revisiting a first love.
Yes, I was lucky enough to have this music in my life since grade school, back when it was new to the world.
Same here, it was a great time to be alive.
Angus Young is my personal favorite guitarist. He’s basically perpetual motion while performing, not stopping or standing still during the entire show
not to mention when he goes insane during his solo and has a seizure, or something, and still never misses a note
HIGHWAY TO HELL, BACK IN BLACK, THUNDERSTRUCK, T.N.T !!! 3:)
Isn’t everyone born listening to AC/DC?? My kids were
Yep, no way these reaction videos are legit. I call bullship on all the reactions to classic music.
I was born '92 but raised on 80s(and back) rock/metal, grandma had me listening to old country, mom had me listening to 80s pop stuff. Id say i was well rounded musically. Rock always came out on top for me though.
God bless you my friend
I'm heavily into rock and punk, but I haven't heard this before. 2 years ago, I heard it inside a game so I decided to check it out.
Back In Black
You Shook Me All Night Long
Thunderstruck
EVERY ACDC SONG
Shoot To Thrill
Tnt
@@juliemanarin4127 I'm do glad someone else suggested that.
This is the album that made me finally decide to learn guitar. Decades and a few bands later I have never regretted this decision. You SHOULD learn guitar too. (Your mom is right. This group was always great in concert. I went every time. They are often better in concert than their albums)
Believe me, someday, his videos will have the title"metalhead reacts to ..."
If he would be honest...
Alex you just got roasted by Mike the Music Snob, you gotta return the favour !
Ben Brice same
what video was this and why did he roast Alex?
NvmMind 0616 look up the channel Become The Knight, and it’s the most recent video. It’s supposed to be a parody and just for the lols
Hell yeah that would be awesome. I just watched that video
@@RainBloodReviews I did. I did not get it that much. Just that the comments claim Alex is a fake and obnoxious.
Dude AC/DC Thunderstruck at River Plate
YES!!!
I have been listening to AC/DC since 1982, and I STILL get goose bumps when I listen to them!
Amazing that people these days don't know this amazing rock!
they listen now cyrus, swift, gaga, grande, gomez, drake and all the other cheap shit... and look to the world... thats the result of it...
Amen
In fairness, this song came out probably 20 years before this kid was born. There's a lot of music in world and nobody can hear it all all at once.
I'm sure people in the 90s said the same thing about 60s rock. Time moves on.
My generation has an advantage now with Spotify most of them refuse to listen to different music e.g funk, metal, rock, soul, Blues etc
🤘🏻🤘🏻 Now you need to do Bon Scott AC/DC and do Thunderstruck like at the River Plate for one of the best crowds you’ll ever see live!! ANGUS YOUNG!!
sapbeeee
When your Mom is cooler than you...
you just said a mouth full!!! stay tuned...
Your mom seems so rad! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
What? You don't know ACDC? That's crazy dude. I'm listening to them for nearly 17 years, cuz i grew up with them (my dad loves them lol).
Me too!!!!! 😂
I’m 22 and been listening to them since I was born. My dad got hooked in 1979 and saw them live in 83 at the Flick of the Switch tour. I saw them twice during Black Ice. Greatest live band I’ve ever seen
Of course he knows AC/DC. A lot of superficial reactions and content on here, Alex has listened to so much metal by this point.
He’s a hiphop head, he’s probably heard alot of AcDc songs before, just like alot of other people he just didn’t know who they really are lol.. just like alot of my rapper friends.. they know the songs, but don’t really know who they are lol
What can you say? People are gullible.
Probably one of the best song intros ever; the bells and that simple guitar riff = GOLD!
RIP Malcolm!
RIP Malcolm, you'll forever live in our hearts.
How come I only heard about this now??? I never knew he passed. Rest in Peace.
@@q_q123 yeah he sadly did 😓
Yo fam. Malcolm is playing a Gretsch White Falcon guitar. It's amazing. Also Angus wields a Gibson SG
Custom sg that's been skimmed to be thinner and lighter.
Patrick Kingsley Malcolmn pls
If I remember correctly, isn't the Gibson SG the only guitar Angus ever plays?? I saw it in an interview, I believe!!
Actually buddy, it's a 1963 Gretsch Jet Firebird. As stated in his autobiography.
RIP Malcolm Young. Greatest riff maker of ALL TIME
Guitar legend, Angus Young! On the massive guitar his brother Malcolm Young also legendary guitar player. RIP Malcom Young! ❤️
Finally some AC/DC.
I like Shoot To Thrill
Tell your mom I first saw AC/DC July 4th 1978 and I was 17. Angus got on a roadies shoulders and went through the crowd just shredding away! It was still to this day the most energy in any concert I have ever went to and I am still going to them today!
Next AC DC: Live at River Plate (TNT or Thunderstruck)
The crowd is amazing. Please check it out.
My Favorite is Whole Lotta Rosie
You shook me all night long - AC/DC
Yeah! More AC/DC reactions
If you wanna listen to the tru original sound of AC/DC, check Highway to Hell with Bon Scott on the vocals, it's magical.
Nakazato YES
if you don't know back in black ....
Mom reacts to Maiden! This has to happen bro!!
He already did few times. He s declared already a fan!
Of course your mum will react to iron maiden🤘
The live version is pretty dope as well! The lead singer Brian Johnson starts the song by running across the stage and jump up and swings off the big bell
Next AC/DC song should be For Those About to Rock.
WE SALUTE YOU!!
If you like this you'll love AIRBOURNE~ Too much, too young, too fast
airbourne ready to rock......they are a great band
I saw AC/DC in 1981 on the Back In Black tour, was deaf for 3 days afterwards and yes Angus chucked a brown eye.
AC/DC - Thunderstruck (Live at Donington)?
Best version. The way Angus jumps up on that platform in the beginning and starts playing the riff is epic af and when the crowd starts growling the vocal melody, wooooooooo talk about chills.
I'm gonna watch it now lol
I dead ass just watched mikes video/ intro parody of alex on his most recent video on Becometheknight
dead ass? your ass is dead?
@@Theorangecrushgamer too much turkey! RIP m deadshot's bootyhole!
You have to listen to Bon Scott era AC/DC - whole lotta Rosie, Highway to Hell etc. so cool that your mum sits in and gives some first hand memories!
AC/DC gives me chills every time
Damn Alex.... put them guns away bruh...lookin' as carved as a turkey my dude... happy Thanksgiving to you, Sarah, and Ozzie. Have a dope ass day man \m/
The guitar is either a Gretsch G6131 or a Gibson ES (both are very big guitars). Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) plays a Gibson ES.
Angus Young....seen him in concert a couple of times. One time he got on a huge guys (security guard) shoulders and walked him around the floor of the Summit in Houston, Texas playing his guitar. Fantastic!!
Bout damn time ya listened to ACDC
we had really a great youth with bands like acdc, iron maiden, judas priest, accept, motörhead, tool, metallica, black sabbath, soundgarden, aic, type o negative, new model army, sepultura etc pp... and what has the youth today...?? swift, grande, gaga, gomez, cyrus, drake and all the other cheap shit...
Death- The flesh and the power it holds
THIS
There's only 1 awesome band reaction for every 15, so let's hope this is next.
+Voice of the soul, Symbolic, Spirit crusher, crystal mountain
Nah some Leprosy first
One of the best rhythm sections in rock history. Pounding, steady, relentless and rock solid.
React to Thunderstruck next
More songs of AC/DC to react:
Highway to Hell
Back in Black
You Shook Me All Night Long
Angus Young - I read comic books, drink chocolate milkshakes and play guitar
Do some of Led Zeppelin
@@blackknighthood Wow! Thank you for the link! Lovely trip down memory lane on that one!! Props! 🤘🔥😊💨
I personally think Razors Edge is a really underrated song by AC/DC also I would recommend For Those About To Rock ( live) they fire cannons lol
We salute you
Wayne Kerr I LOVE Razors Edge
Razor's Edge is a great album all around, I always thought For Those About to Rock was their best album definitely most consistent.
When I watch all these reaction videos to good old rock bands I feel like I'm hearing the music again for the first time with the reactors. Always an interesting thing
Wait you never heard ac/dc before? What did you do in your childhood?
Do you really believe him? Of course he heard ac/dc before
Maybe he was busy playing video games... 😀
Up
The video will be so cool!
Yess
Damn, first time hearing this, that song... I'm like under witch rock have you been living???? And then I'm jealous becaus then there's still so mutch to explore. Keep o going and rocking.
that massive guitar is a Gretch withe Falcon semi-hollow body
A beauty of a guitar
Though bigger than a normal electric guitar, it's size is exaggerated by Malcolm's tiny frame lmao
true that William
Of course someone beat me to it....
If you wanna get blown away watch Let There Be Rock live 1978 or 1979 with original singer Bon Scott.
I'm dead serious about this
I would say, who the hell are you? That's AC/DC man, the best rock band ever.
The guitar isn’t really that big the dude is like 5’3
aasi 5’2 😂
I wanted to slap when you said you haven't heard AC/DC.
"Who is that guitarist?" Was the moment.
Ya gotta remember he's younger guys. I know that sounds bad.. even to me because AC/DC was big when I was a kid. So I'm getting old too...lol But I'm glad a younger guy can start listening and enjoying.
Timothy Jahn Lol I'm 19 and I rock out to AC/DC since I was 3 XD
Timothy Jahn The guy must live under a rock lol
Timothy Jahn I'm 15 and I've been listening to them since I was 10 lol
Inis mona - eleuveitie
The satanist - behemoth
Cloud connected - in flames
Laid to rest - lamb of god
The art of dying - gojira
Steve Vai - For The Love of God live with the Holland Metropole Orchestra
Studio version or where the wild things are version though please. Not orchestra one for first listen.
AC⚡️DC is the definition of rock 'n' roll🎸🥁
Please react to Living Colour "cult of personality" regards from Argentina.
Love Rears Up It's Ugly Head is the best :)
Am I the only one who hates that song? Every time it comes on the radio I yell angrily at it for existing.
They have better songs like Open Letter (To A Landlord)
@@Tompa8989 great song!
"I wanna play guitar!" said every kid ever who listened to classic rock.
Try their "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)" ;)
Yeeeeeeeeessssss
SzymonOFF ugh YES
Alex the lead guitar player was angus young he always played in a school uniform
Yes, the idea came from his sister.

Yeay I know I saw them live and had a meet and greet
Fun fact: the man that made the bell is the one ringing it on the recording. They did it right at the foundry.
That vein in your forehead is telling me you really dig this song!
