What are your thoughts on the updated groupset? Are the changes for the better or should SRAM have focused elsewhere? And how do you feel about the sparkly paint? Let us know your thoughts in the comments 👇
15 yrs ago I went from XT/XTR to X-9/X-0, then returned to XTR. I was an ‘anti mainstream’ one until I realized it’s sexy to be UN-mainstram until it’s NOT. There’s reason why Shimano rules the market, and it’s not written on the brochure, say durability, design maturity, ergonomics, and I appreciate why Shimano designed its components the Shimano way; not sexy but highly dependable.
@@kawabus correct. It’s about shifting & braking. Not to mention the brifter’s ergonomics feeling. Having Shimano is ‘un-sexy’ but they’re more ‘matured’
Oof. I actually think the sparkling glossy paint and decals look out of place. And again integrated chainrings arent great. Except for wear after 35-40k km. Chainrings can get bent in a crash, have a tooth break off during chainsuck. Or a change of gearing is required. so many possible reasons to change a chainring ring out.
💯 exactly..they should of kept it simply all black matte or gloss(similar to shimano's look)..sram should of went with a stealth look with small logos instead of sticker looking logos..
I was waiting on the new version, but with the integrated powermeter I’m thinking to take ultegra di2. Of you need to change, you need also buy a powermeter for the second time. Not the way I Will spend the extra money Every time.
I don’t think the chain rings are one piece to the crank, just each other. Personally if I had to replace one chainring I would likely do them both for good measure anyway.
Excellent review! What is the life expectancy of the front and rear derailleurs ? This is an important consideration, because replacement cost of the electronic derailleurs is way more expensive. Thanks
So, somebody paid for you to spend a few days in the Algarve testing the new SRAM on the off chance that you’ll come up with a glowing review. Just in case they needed to over-egg the freebie pudding you got a top of the range bike to ride about at home for a few weeks.
As much as I'd love to ditch Shimano, this isn't it. Having to throw away my powermeter when I replace my chainrings is just insane. I suspect the RD delay would bug me as well. Meh.
Wait isn't this chainset have a crank based power meter and the chainring is the one where you remove it with bolts near the crank spindle like mtb cranks? I used to also think that Sram had a 1 piece crank but I was trashtalked by someone and told no one would design a crank where you can't change the chainring lol Edit: nvm I took a closer look
Shimano: we will make the newest bestest groupset for pros and then resell the same tech for amateurs some years later as ultegra and 105. Sram: let's make Rival the best cheap electronic groupset and then the next year use the same tech and ergonomics on the more expensive groupset but with more shiny stuff while we let Red get old. I love Sram, but they're working upside down of what I feel correct
I don't know about the 46/33, but if you can get along with a Force D2 43/30 crank, then it is still 2 piece like old force, and you for sure can use the new D2 force 1x left crank arm in it. A Force D2 43/30 power meter crank out of the box is a lefty power meter crank just like Rival. That's why they cost less than the bigger cranks with the integrated power meter. It would be cheaper to just buy the power meter version up front though if you can.
Screw that...throwing away a perfectly good power meter is freakin' insane. The person that made that decision needs to be fired at Sram. No thanks, I'll keep my older Force group set. It works perfectly and I like the shifters better because I have large hands. No full upgrade here for me folks but I may consider changing to the newer FD and or RD but nothing else.
Oh... holographics/Prism effect on levers and parts? i'm not sure about it... it kinda looks too sparkly. New frames are already dope with the paintjob, on side parts no thanks!!!
"move over Ultegra" ????i own bikes with both groupsets as well as Dura Ace and SRAM Red. Ultegra is just superior in performance and smoothness compared to SRAM and a better value that Dura Ace.
@@adamjd7645 I actually ride friction shifters, so I don't have a dog in the fight. More just referring to their video a couple months ago where they basically said SRAM should get rid of everything that makes it different and become knockoff Shimano.
@@adamjd7645 I like both..but I just prefer my shimano ultegra di2 over my Sram red..they all do the same thing..lol..Pepsi vs coke, xbox vs Playstation, etc...lol..get both if you can.

Shimano 12psd Di2 is smoother and more refined than the new force

Next on Sram products lineup: cycling socks integrated with a shoe.
Lol
Imagine how stinky that'd be since you'd only have 1 sock, or having to wash the shoe everyday
Disposable shoes that you simply throw out after each use 😂
I'm guessing you don't follow football/soccer shoes
Sram: How do we make our product stand out?
Design head: Stickers. We need stickers. Cheap looking stickers.
Lol..they should of kept it simple, all black(matte or gloss/stealth look) with small logos
And remove features!!!!

I still can't you have to throw away a perfectly good powder meter. This on 1-star product for me.
Just looks like someone has mixed up Force, Red and Rival parts. Holographic stickers and sparkle paint are a bit old hat now too. Very odd.

Whoops on that audio editing! Looking like this might need a re-edit.
Integrated chainrings (especially with a power meter attached) is an irredeemable drawback. I don't know why you don't criticise these things more.
It definitely needs to be out there more. Definitely don't think SRAM made a good decision there
blips are throw away too .. and not cheap … not sure what SRAM thinking .. they are becoming. a SCAM
In my experience, the monolithic Red style chainrings shift better than the 2-piece 4x107bcd rings due to being stiffer and truer.

The contact point adjustment was removed from Force D1 to Force D2.
Please immediate comparison to Ultegra Di2 as I am wondering which group-set to settle for on a new aero bike.
You like Old tech? Get Ultegra!!! You live in the present? Buy new Force or Red!

I quite like the aesthetics tbh but the bar tape job on the Crux was a little done a little hastily.
can one change the chainring on the 1x, gravel specific crank? Interested in different no. of teeth and oval chainrings.
9:00 I heard "a winter of straight and flat psychopath commutes" and I'm like "oh he must ride with the same car drivers as me" before I realized
From the voice I knew who it was on the distance shot in the sun .... But it looked like a head swap had been carried out ! 🤣
If even sram can make a FD, then bring back 2x for all road and gravel!!

This has some shimano Acera vibes, pretty sure they even had a version that had a sparkle decal
I planned to buy this w/o powermeter chain set, to match with 1x left powered arm.. please tell me this is possible..

Tempting but integrated Chain rain is still not right for me. Especially since i still have to Change my wheelset but does New blimps are nice
I don't think this is the version of the video you intended to upload; it feels unfinished.
And what about th weigh?)
This weight is as heavy as the Mechanical 105 and paid more than that because of electronic shifting. But is a Instagram worthy!! Lolzz.
Can never compete with the Ultegra.
We will be putting them head-to-head to find out

I wish new Force meant that Rival was cheaper
Compared this group to newest Sram MTB groups I think all Sram Road groups are outdated

Oh good. They got the SRAM hater/Shimano fanboi from the last video to review the new SRAM grouppo.
Lol..I have sram red and ultegra di2 12speed..honestly I like the way shimano works and shifts better than sram..but honestly they're both great.
As opposed to a SRAM fanboi such as yourself? SRAM is ok... but just ok.

Dont forget! More expensive-er
you lost me at "integrated chainrings with powermeter.."
Not expensive enough, everyone knows You don't compete with anything older than 1 year and any less than TourDeFrance race price tag
Sram kk
Bigger sprocket is more effective, that because Shimano is number ONE!
Utterly dreadful.
Dropped chain.
