I have no tattoos. But I always wanted a full yakuza style body suit complete sleeves and down to my knees. Never did because of my family and my ex wife’s family’s beliefs about tattoos. Tattoos being mainstream is a relatively new thing. Most cultures use tattoos to mark criminals. Or for religious reasons. Or as memorials. In Roman times, hard core Christians would have a tattoo of a cross on them. To prove their dedication to Christ because to have that symbol on you at that time was a death sentence. For me, I’ve study enough about demons to know where there is blood letting, they are there attaching themselves to the ritual. I had thoughts of having the entire Bible tattooed on myself, so I’d always have a Bible with me. Decided to tattoo it on my heart instead. I agree with his assessment. Nothing wrong with having tattoos, but if your a Christian you shouldn’t get anymore, for no other reason that to not be a stumbling block to a weaker brother in the faith.

If you feel like you should stop, you should. Sin or not, it is an eye sore. There are other better and more natural ways to make yourself stand out as a person. Mainly what's on the inside, not the outside.
i had tattos before i became a christian and in the beginning i was planing on a full sleve for god 😀 but nah, i cant. god clearly said his piece about markings on the flesh. he doesnt like it and i doubt he changed his stance and is now a fan of kanjis or stupid tribals on our beautiful bodies. and thats from a guy with large markings on his flesh. they are a good reminder of my vanity though!
the teaching for the marring of the beard is talking about Scarification. The teaching about not shaving your hair and or beard was for the Levitical priests and Nazarites.
In the New Testament it says that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). In the old testament it would be un thinkable for the Jews to do graffiti on the the walls of their temple so why should we as born again, Holy Spirit filled Christians want to do graffiti on our bodies which are the temple of the Holy Spirit?
Our body is the temple of God & hence a living sacrifice to God, so do not defile your bodies with a tattoo. I got a tattoo of Hebrew writing a few years ago where Jesus was pierced with the spear I’ve used it to talk about Jesus sacrifice for me and them but for your wife there’s just simply nothing wrong with getting tattoos in that time they refrain from getting them because it was typically a pagan practice not so much anymore I have one and I’m covered by Jesus blood even if it were a sin we’re all sinners and it’s not going to be a stumbling block for a week or Christian or younger Christian no one looks at them and looks down on you it’s just not how the world works anymore but if it’s something sweet between you and your wife I really don’t think God has a problem with it but pray about it

If you've got to ask if something is wrong then something is telling you that it probably is. My pastor (Southern Baptist) allowed his wife to cover her body in tattoos after she turned 40. It has caused problems in the church i attend. Point is, if it doesn't give God glory, why do it? If it is controversial or a contentious subject, why participate in it? It is a worldly practice, period. So why would anyone born again of God consider doing it? I had many tattoos done before my conversion but since my salvation on April 4th 2018 i would not get another one, period. I don't even allow people to see them because im so ashamed of them. I would ask any professing Christian why do they wish to add to God's perfect design? If you represent Christ, then truly represent Him.
I wouldn't put a bumper sticker or some other type of ad on my company vehicle that my employer owns. It is not there to represent me. It is to represent my employer. My body belongs to God, not to me.
God made lots of warnings that were health related. Tattoos also makes us easier to identify, specially if we have interesting tastes, if you know what I mean! Also there are tattoo artists that sell blood from the needle machine to occultists. But the list of risks from tattooing both health and spiritual related, are too long so God said "Don't" and that was easier to grasp 🤗
Those laws were there to set the Hebrews apart from the nations around them who were doing such things as worship to false gods. I don't think a tattoo will send you to Hell, but I would question the motivation of an already born-again believer wanting to get one (or several, as we currently see in society). I would say if a person desires to have one, they should earnestly pray and consider why they feel the need to mark their body with something that is permanent and unnecessary.

I never wanted a tattoo until after I became a christian because I knew it had to be something I'd never fall out of love with. There's so many bible stories I can visualize and put together as an art piece and honestly it would be really cool to have on my body so others ask about it, and its not like I'm going to have this body forever anyway. But until God gives me the go ahead I'll wait since I rarely know what's best for myself.

When you go to meet God in Heaven, you will have a renewed, perfect resurrected body. God will not be looking at any tattoos on your body. (BTW, I don’t have any tattoos).

I think God wants us to engrave His words IN OUR HEARTS where only we and Him can see it, not on the outside for others to see it. It may not be a sin but it is vain and shallow. why permanently write those name on yourself are you incapable of keeping them in your heart? it just seems like people do it to show other something not for themselves. thats vanity. and it is a sign of insecurity. i dont need to get a "mom" tattoo in order for people to know that i love and cherish and honor my mother. I dont have an urge to instantly signal to strangers that i am a good son. or that i like a certain band or movie or that i am a creative individual. thats all tattoos are for. Glorify your body the Bible says - so be genuinely honest, if you ask if something is wrong it probably is.
Personally , any permanent changes to the natural body are bad... it may not be a sin but it is a bad choice.

Nobody gets a tattoo to glorify God no matter what the tattoo depicts. You glorify God by obeying Him. He never told you to do anything like getting a tattoo. If you aren't doing it to please Him, then who are you seeking to please? You are bought with a price, and you are not here to represent yourself in any way you see fit.

When you go to meet God in Heaven, you will have a renewed, perfect resurrected body. God will not be looking at any tattoos on your body. (BTW, I don’t have any tattoos).
I never got a tattoo until I was saved but I was careful what I put on me and where I put them .
Some people tatoo themselves with Bible verses or jesus' name, which I suppose is acceptable. I personally never wanted to be tatooed, just personal choice.
I think God wants us to engrave His words IN OUR HEARTS where only we and Him can see it, not on the outside for others to see it. It may not be a sin but it is vain and shallow. Show the world that you are a child of God by acting like one, not by signaling it with a permanent drawing on yourself. God bless.

Once you are Born again, you shouldn't get any more tattoos. Tattoos are usually people's way of expressing themselves in pain or memory or stupidity... Either way, there is a better way, and that way is JESUS CHRIST :) God bless
Tattooing might have been against the purity code, which was in place to purposely separate Jews from pagans. As so with the plaiting of a woman’s hair. So many things.

why permanently write those name on yourself are you incapable of keeping them in your heart? it just seems like people do it to show other something not for themselves. thats vanity. and it is a sign of insecurity. i dont need to get a "mom" tattoo in order for people to know that i love and cherish and honor my mother. I dont have an urge to instantly signal to strangers that i am a good son. or that i like a certain band or movie or that i am a creative individual. thats all tattoos are for. Actions speak louder than tatoos.
Maybe I shouldnt get my hair cut. I mean look at Sampson!!!! I think Acts 15.28/29 is good guidance. People try to make life one big gnat strain and lose sight of the big picture items. Moderation in all things, no idols, love God and others.

Furthermore, Christianity is also a tradition of man. It was brought to the Americas by the Europeans. And, its practiced by people who don't understand it completely. That's why there is so many different types of churches.
