Is there any way to get by without having to purchase that kind of water filtering system? I've looked them up and they run about $450+ & starting out I am really just trying to see if there is enough demand for it.
Great video man. A video on suggestions for cleaning skylights could be a hit as well.
Ian 08 zero degree unger squeegee on a pole, closes out perfectly for cleaning skylights with a pole, next time I do one I’ll make a vid
Hey Stevo should I hose down the solar panels first and then water fed pole the solar panels?
Hey Stevo, thanks for the vid. I hope that you & Alex are keeping well. I’m curious, can the panels crack if you apply water to them on a warm/hot day? Is it best to only clean them on a cool or cloudy day?
Hi Maria, thank you we are doing well, hope you are as well!! No they won't crack on a warm sunny day. If they do then they had some sort of stress crack before. Don't ever clean a solar panel that is cracked or broken that can electrocute you.
I have a 24” hog that works great too but not many have seen how good it is ! It is a very good solar brush because it is about two pounds but scrubs very well!
Phillip Alexander that weight would be nice of the brush!! Some day I need an Excalibur!! 😉
Phillip Alexander 😍😍
Hi Steve, thanks for the video, how often do you recommend to your clients the panels to be cleaned?
I’m from San Diego, CA. I have a solar panel cleaning business. We recommend solar panels to be cleaned 2 times a year / every 6 months. We have videos on our RUclips channel South Bay Solar Cleaning. Check them out
I just started offering solar panel cleaning. Haven’t had the chance yet to clean any. Kinda nervous about it.
Where are you located?
anything residential grade you'd recommend? We have raised solar panels up here in the sierra, low side is 12' off the ground and i just need to clean my own panels and won't recoop the cost of this level of equipment.
For residential, get a simple DI kit windowcleaner.com/collections/water-fed-packages/products/xero-di-tank-package?sca_ref=3020242.k17l3JaEgS
Stevooooo!!!!!🤙🏼💯
Thank for the video. Do you shut the system down before you start?
Tim Albrecht no but do look for broken solar panels because that can cause an electrical current
Shutting the system doesn't do anything for your safety as the solar panels are constantly creating electricity whether they are connected or not...
We dont get enough sun for solar panels lol.nice vid mate
Just starting out is there any reason I can't just use my ettore strip washer and squeegee off? Thanks!
You could put most solar panels are awkward to clean with traditional tools.
How do you guys advertise or market solar panel cleaning?
Just list it on our services and add it to a bid when we see it on there roof or property
Can’t you clean the panels from the ground with the water fed pole?
LOOKS LIKE ONLY HALF
A lot of people online try to scare new people out of the industry over electrocution hazards. What precautions do you take other than shutting the systems off and avoiding wiring hazards? Thanks 🙏
I've never shut down any solar panels and never had an issue, just check for broken or cracked panels
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner I don’t have a purifier as I’m primarily doing power washing. I may just get a really good in-line sediment filter for now. Thanks for the input. Seems like people like to create barriers to entry to inflate their self worth lol
👍🏻
Ryan Fewster 👌🏻👌🏻
$5 seems way too cheap, on average we charge $8 for a regular exterior window and that's WITHOUT getting on a roof, raise your price to reflect the added risk involved.
Kayaking_J $5/ panel equaled out to be $125 for this job and it took less then 30 minutes...that’s pretty good! 🤓
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner As long as your happy with the price, just remember you set the customers expectations. I always price it as I would if I had to do it trad.. that or let an employee do the estimate as we as buisness owners always seem to bid low ;)
Kayaking_J if you did them trad it would definitely take longer but this way is quick efficient, and has great results. No I wouldn’t send an employee to do the bid. So you price in/out of a window at $16? Since you mentioned charging $8 a window outside?
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner we do $12 inside and out for a double hung and 75% of an of that for an exterior only thus the $8. I agree with you 100% about doing them wfp but my point is to always bid jobs as you would if you had to do them trad. Don't discount just because you have the capability to do wfp in case you have an equipment failure etc and you have to do them trad. That way you're covered either way
We have Solar companies that install and clean in my area.
They charge around $5 per panel for one storey house.
You can use all the logic you want, but the market will determine the price.💦
You never use any soap to clean? Just water?
Correct, just pure water, it dries spotless
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner awesome been wanting to try solar panel cleaning in my area just didn’t know where to start but I found some equipment telescoping brush purifier I just don’t know what to charge my guess is $5-$10 per panel
@@SteveOthewindowcleanerdont you want to encapsulate dirt and dust with soap and microfiber tho?
??^^@@SteveOthewindowcleaner
That full boars!
Mike N. Always 💪🏻
We used a no dI ro system teck 7 sim filter
Phillip Alexander hey Phil, do you know the TDS before going through the tec 7 filter? I’ve got one of those filters as well but use it as an addition rather then by itself.
SteveO The Window Cleaner 175 here in north AZ try it next time by itself ! We even used it with a x jet and came out great . If you had a solar farm it would be perfect ! Just turn down the pressure to the lowest psi you can and stay 6 feet away ! No brush needed sometimes ! I have one solar kit left for $975 that the two filters ! They want $500 now for the simsolar filter but it last ten years ! It’s on ceramic piece from South Korea and trying to figure out how to do it myself
