Hey man I’m also a solar cleaning company in Hanford please don’t listen to these guys chemicals and soap on solar panels is a big no. there’s isn’t an installer in Hanford who’s warranty covers chemical or soap to be used on panels in fact you are voiding warranty’s if you are doing this also the use of pressure washers are a stipulation of warranties and cannot under any circumstances be used please don’t find your self in a lawsuit
i do same thing and i respect these guys hustle but please do not put any cleaning agents on your solar panels. this will void warranty. unfortunately some bad information here. using pressure is a little sketchy too. this can cause fractures and damage the non reflective coating. also some GOOD information in this video. GOOD VIDEO .OVERALL, but majority of solar cleaning community will dis agree with the first guys method. thanks for making this video and getting the conversation started
Best you can do is to follow the solar panels manufacture recommendations. You can always contact them and find out whether your specific solar panels are safe to wash with detergent. If so what kind of detergent. I wash my own solars with pressure washer only. I use soft water to retain minerals and prevent layers mineral buildup. I want to start brushing although I want to find very soft bristle brush. I will potentially like to start working my own business. I m a certified sterile processing tech who would like to do some very good cleaning for solars. Cleaning solars does help a little bit the solar energy production. I would suggest washing solars at least 2 to 3 times per year.
MY area is very dusty and low rain in the summer so it looks like I'll need to was once a month. Be care with the pressure washer, some companies and RUclipsrs advise not to use them, so depends which kind.
Bless you guys, you don't know how many people try to sell you a course. And spin you around the whole video until you know that you have to enroll in the course to get any real information!!!
25:06 So cleaning it may have possibly increased production by 3-5%? Looks like it goes from 40 kw to 42 kw. Clearly production is going to be really low on the rainy days, but all the days before that was around 40 kw, and after it looks like it's 40 kw - 42 kw. We'd probably need to see more days to compare. I'd be interested in seeing them clean half an array and then showing us what the kw production difference between the arrays is
ADT cleans their solar panels for free. In theor contract they don't want anyone else touching the panels they install. They have their own contractors for install as well as their own roofing team. Every time the panels are showing a decrease in power buildup they will send a crew out to wash the panels. ADT is doing this right.
Clear Colorado early winter day, elevation 6700 feet. Sounds crazy, but got 145 - 150 watts input from 160 watt solar panel. Charged my River 2 Max from 40% to 100% in two hours.
absolute fact. You should clean your panels. Just did mine again. Fires, dirt and little presents left by pigeons. You can see the improvement on your arrays production metrics. NO JOKE!
I work in the solar industry and I’m not knocking the cleaning as we do cleaning as well, but the cleaning is relative to the price it cost for the cleaning service and frequency of the cleaning. That’s just my opinion. Good work guys. Be safe out there as one OSHA fine for no harness will eat your profits for a few jobs.
You only need to have safety gear on a roof if you are working within 6 feet of the roof ledge. Besides there are no anchors. Love that rotating brush. They didn’t exist when I cleaned. Could have really enjoyed using that brush at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital solar panels and windows.
