Yes! Everyone should watch this, no matter if they wash their own vehicle or are thinking about it. Excellent to know the differences in car shampoo… very important!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Phil, really good content here. It ain't just the amount of "shampoos" that may be confusing LOL! There's more detailing products out there than craft beer selections...what a rabbit hole. Thanks to you and your lovely wife for keeping our heads on straight. Shine on you crazy diamond!
To be honest I have woken up thinking which soap to use for which vehicle. We are lucky to have so many soaps which are awesome plus we can add apc to the foam cannon. Thank you for the video and the Tahoe looked awesome as your work always does.
Touchless is hands down the best ceramic foam out there. Insane hydrophobic properties and makes a totally flat car appear and act coated for 45-60 days. Drying is a snap afterwards with the blower. Great video !
Another epic video Phil. These videos are like attending college classes where the professor actually knows what he is talking about. Appreciate all your positive contributions to the detailing community! 🙏🏻 Wish I had subscribed sooner... 🙄
Another awesome video Phil enjoyed every minute. Definitely 💯 percent agree the work stuff brushes are legit . My favorites are the albino orange and white as well. Always look forward to these videos every Monday morning .
Nice job on the shampoos Phil. I also liked seeing other products that are available. Do this again but with snow foam. Nice video. Till the next one.👍🏻😎
Phil: Great video, Right now I am mainly using “Jay Leno” Car Wash & Wax. Even at Walmart there are so many options….I mainly went with Jay Leno because I did see a few detailers on RUclips recommend his products. Now at least I have a foundation on what to look for & why. Also thanks for the “Glove Box” that I won. I have received the box & am looking forward to using the products.
I recently washed my car with Meguair's Ultimate Wash and Wax . I don't have access to water at condo complex . So , I filled up a 5 gallon bucket with hot water from bathtub faucet and put cover on . Then took another empty bucket to fill up with water to rinse wash mitt . Went to self serve car wash and filled second bucket with just water there . Then added car wash soap and mixed it in . Pants got soaked with car wash soap . When I got home left leg was burning as in painful . I can only think it was the soap , to be careful next time , but won't buy another bottle . And it seems that the containers of car wash soap are getting SMALLER and the same price or more . I would buy only the one gallon containers online for a much cheaper price .
303 Touchless Sealant works phenomenal for wheels. I see most people using wet coat or Hybrid ceramic wax which both work well but I get better hydrophobics from the 303. Only thing I use it for
Phil. What have you found is a good PSI/GPM for your pressure washer? What degree tip do you typically use? I know they're all different, but generally. Thanks again!
Yeah, way too many soaps out there. Where would you put Carpro Reset and Lift in the soap lineup? I only use Reset on my coated cars for maintenance washing. Very cool video for information. Hi wife!
Reset I would say is closer to a Decon soap, strong enough to clean but not to strong so as to strip protection I would use reset only on protected vehicles that were really dirty. I haven’t used life yet though.
For our maintenance services on ceramic coated vehicles we offer a quarterly at $175-$200 and every 6 months at $250-$275. Depending on size of the vehicle. That includes a full wash and possible chemical Decon if needed, and a basic interior cleaning and spot shampooing if needed.
Dear Phil great video again. Let me ask your perspective...... On maintenance car services..( specially 1-2+ months visits).... why not stripping the protection and aplly a fresh one? Todays waxes sealants and even some ceramic sprays needs just couple of minutes to aplly them. No much extra cost ( cost per car for a wax or sealant usually isn't to much on product cost) and the car is freshly "waxed" on every visit, and you dont have to bother with neutral shops and guessing where the wax is off or not........ I am thinking this way..... What is your opinion? Again great work congratulations
It is harsher on the surfaces to strip protection off every time. Better to use a regimen of products that work together and layer on top of each other and save the strip washing for first time visits.
@@PolishedMobileDetailing503 why is harsh to strip the protection every time?. Already the protection (any) has been weakened on many surfaces from the road grime, traffic film, and enviromental beat up, e.t.c..witch now is between the layers like a sandwitch or birthday cake 😀😀😀...and can be removed easily why not remove what left and reapply a new fresh protection, wouldnt that benefit for the car and perfect service for the client?
Hi. Good point. That’s totally doable if one wants to go that route. We don’t do it that way for our business unless the protection is really on its way out. If the protection is still going strong then we just wash and add a boost spray sealant, But to each their own. 😎👍🏼
@@Mdetailing a proper detailer like myself and many others is going to use the least aggressive approach to our services possible. Every time. I’m sorry but I can’t take the time to explain to you why you should be leaving all forms of protection on the clear coat possible.
It's ok, everyone has their own methods and reasons for doing what they do for their customer's vehicles. The only thing I request is that everyone is polite and understands each other without trying to prove someone else wrong. It's just detailing, nothing ground breaking where rules have to be enforced. That's the great thing about detailing, so many different ways to get great results and make the customers happy.😎👍🏼
By far one of the best ceramic coating maintenance products ever. Descale brings back coatings better than any other product I've tried. Use it every 3 to 5 months depending on environment. I'd say 5 or 6 for garage kept cars, 3 or 4 for outdoor cars. Sprinklers, Hose water and rain clog the pours more than I realized.
@@thinkforyourself5672 you know what that’s one thing I’ve been thinking about for a while. If people use a touchless car wash , chances are it’s tap water , if they wash it themselves at home , tap water. No matter what it’s getting clogged , that’s one overlooked thing we should convey to customers so they don’t just think it failed.
@@Detailpops, 100 percent. Unless you're washing it with deionized water every wash, you're slowly clogging the coating. Descale is phenomenal. But you're right, I would let your customers know just washing the car with tap water will slowly make the coating less effective. Until they call you for a Descale wash lol
Phil Age is showing on your back and knees? Tell me about it. I’m 57 yo and it’s my birthday today and I’m going to see a physical therapist today as my present You still young! The chemicals too. Even the mist when you spray any chemical on car surface, any chemical. Wear a face mask and eye protection too Things are not going to get better, don’t make it worst Full face mask I would recommend when spraying any chemical

I like Lithium Double Tap. Smells incredible and has softeners like aloe for your skin. Very slick.

You are one of the only detailers I have heard mention Ulen's. It's not my go-to, but on certain vehicles, it is a lifesaver.
Thanks! Yeah it’s good stuff
@MirandaDetailing They reached out to me a few years ago about a photo contest, they did 2 contests, I won both.

Some shampoos are for sure hard to choose between. Great product breakdown bru.
Hi I use Carchem, it’s a 1900-1 dilution ratio, made in England, unbelievable cleaning power and lubricity , very reasonable price!🇬🇧
Thank You Uncle Phil!!!

Hi. Woah! That’s weird! I have never heard of soap like that harming skin. Sorry that happened.
Oberk's website says the APS will strip waxes and sealants, so I wasn't going to get it. Have you observed otherwise?
I haven’t really seen it remove waxes or sealants on well maintained vehicles. Maybe if the protection was on its way out it could strip it.

Phil. What have you found is a good PSI/GPM for your pressure washer? What degree tip do you typically use? I know they're all different, but generally. Thanks again!
So we use an ARBLUE which is rated at 1900 psi at 2.1 GPM. We usually use a 25° tip

I have used some of their soaps before in the past. They are really good also. I just don’t have any left to show.
Can Carpro Descale be used on non ceramic coated vehicles?

What’s a good low PH soap?
Car pro descale is really good as a low pH acidic shampoo
