I had great results diluting Koch-Chemie Green Star 10:1 in a Merolex Foamer. I sprayed the car one pannel at a time, let it dwell, and rinsed it off with a pressure washer. It removed almost all the green mildew and road film from my neglected daily driver. I learned about this method and the necessary chemicals and tools from one of your earlier pre-rinse videos. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your knowledge.

Another great video Phil! One of the things I appreciate most about you is that you teach and drop a lot of great knowledge, provide some good advice, and show examples/methods of how you do things, but you always come back to saying do whatever works best for you. I'm just a weekend warrior who details my own car and for family and friends and haven't been doing it all that long, but I've learned there's generally not one right way or product to do things. Obviously I get to look at it differently than running a business, but it's about having fun and trying different methods and products to find what I like. I've tried a few different methods for pre-rinsing/pre-washing that have worked well for me depending on how dirty the vehicle is. When I've needed a little more bite, I've used DIY All Clean 15:1 in a IK Foam Pro 12 and have also used that for wheels and tires. Or sometimes I'll start with P&S Crystal Wash, rinse, follow up with DIY All Clean, rinse, foam, contact wash, etc. For maintenance washes, I've also enjoyed the 3pH system from Labocosmetica. If the car isn't overly bad, I'll foam on a higher pH soap (Labo Primus, P&S Frostbite, ADS Decon, etc) as a pre-wash or even just a pH neutral soap or rinseless. I have used Super Clean for doing engine bays, but never on wheels and tires or on paint. I'll have to give it a try.
Great stuff as always, Phil! I’m fortunate enough that I don’t typically have to worry about chemicals drying in the sun, so I stick with DIY Detail All Clean at ~1:14 in the iK Foam Pro. I cover the car, let it dwell for about a minute, rinse, then spray the car again with rinseless and proceed with a standard rinseless wash. In my experience, that’s been the most effective, efficient, and safest method. Haven’t had any marring yet.
Another great tutorial Phil. This should be the last pre-wash video you need to do. Just link this video for every question about it. Great seeing you on Aaron's podcast tonight.
On hammered vehicles i use Super Clean 5:1 in my large IK Foamer New cars I use DIY Rinseless Wash in the smaller IK foam sprayer. Just ordered that battery powered sprayer (thanks to you). 😎 Beard is looking epic!
Thanks for sharing Phil, unfortunately we can't seem to get this in the UK, seems cheap as chips over there with you. With regards to mixing in your snow foam cannon, sorry if you already know this, but you can work out PIR, to give you the same PIR as you get in your pump sprayers. I do this as I use a couple of products which are designed to be used using PIR, rather than the usual 1" in a foam cannon etc. as each foam cannon is different, each pressure washer is different, so you will have a different PIR. First, fill your foam cannon with 1 litre clean water (assuming it holds1 litre) Attach your pressure washer and shoot into a bucket, with the dial turned to how you normally use it, until your foam cannon is empty. Then see how much water you made in total - let's just say it was 12 litres for example. Because you mix your foam sprayer, pump sprayer etc. @ 1:10 which is pretty much 9% - this is your PIR from these sprayers with this dilution, if you want the same strength. If you want the same PIR from your foam cannon, then you would have to completely fill it with Super Clean, as 12000ml x 0.09 = 1080ml or 1.08 litres, so you would be very marginally under 9% with that. Sorry if you already knew that, maybe a couple of folks who don't know that may find it useful.
Hi. Yeah I tried the PIR method before. It might work for some. I just find it over complicated for such a simple task as mixing up apc or soap. I see the point of it, but in practical application it over complicates things. I have 5 different foam canons and use the same dilutions in all of them and find no major differences. Some foam canons use up slightly more product than others, but as far as effectiveness, I don’t see a difference. Thanks for sharing! 😎👍🏼
Hey Phil another great video I'm a weekend warrior and love watching your videos that you seem to show more of a process off correctly washing your car showing more of a class product rather than naming specific products that you would only use . Here in Michigan in the winter with the road salt and pollution of the factories it all sticks to your car in the middle of winter like cement. I've used super clean in a foam Cannon 4:1 and OMG by that alone and power washing it I would say the car is probably 90% clean. A lot of times that's all I do because it's 0° Fahrenheit I don't want to hand wash and I'm happy with those results. Thanks again keep up the great work
I just do a good pre rinse with pressure washer to get anything heavy off and if needed I use an apc to sit for a few and then rinse again. All learned here!!
I got my first foam pump sprayer the axel 2000 Marolex an have my next ergo alka 2000 on the way since I love the first one so much. Such good quality sprayers
I usually use super clean mixed 1:3 or 1:4 in a foam cannon with a bit of car shampoo to help with foaming and clinging on the paint. I also use super clean in a sprayer diluted 1:5 or 1:6 with rinseless.
@@NightmareChronicles77 I haven’t had any issues but I only use super clean diluted on clear coated wheels. I used super clean on a part in my engine bay that was anodized and it dried on that part and stained it but I was able to get the staining off. So be careful not to do that, as long as it’s diluted correctly and you don’t let it dry, you shouldn’t have any issues
Hi Phil, thank you for another great video. You are such a great teacher. I've been using Super Clean for a while as a pre-wash (learned from you years ago) but I have also used others such as G-Techniq W4 citrus foam in the same fashion. I like the SuperClean better! The GTW4 doesn't have the penetrating power as does the SuperClean (my opinion), so needless to say the SuperClean has been my go-to product for the past 4-years now. I typically do the same process as you do; I like to spray the surface with water first to get the heavy debris off and cool down the paint, then apply super clean 10:1. I was doing 5:1 in the past and never noticed any issues but 10:1 goes a long way!
I have been washing cars in full sun for many years in North GA 😂, common sense and not over thinking it WILL take you a LONG way... After 20 years of doing this way with different products, Super Clean or Mean Green is my go to product s... I have to do 2 to 3 sections at a time, no way around that, even in the shade!
Well Phil i had never really did a pre soak until I started watching your channel. I will use Ethos Super APC 1-1 to 1-5. I also really like Chem X Heavy Duty. It's really strong and highly diluteable. I prefer the IK foamer or just a spray bottle depending on application and level of dirt. I have not seen any harm to coatings or sealants with Ethos. Thank you.
I only wash my own cars, and the only APC I have used so far is the green Meguiar's. I dilute that 1:4 for tires/exterior and 1:10 for interior. I like it, but once I go through the gallon I'm gonna try out other brands, maybe DIY Detail or Koch Chemie. P.S. I just won a previous contest from you and Glovebox, so I'm just commenting, but not to enter the contest.
@chrisdenman1985 very true. I don’t use strong APC’s for interiors. I don’t use super clean for interiors anymore. But I do use other APC’s that are formulated for interiors. But only if the interior needs it.
Great content! Learning a lot from your videos. I just started a mobile detailing business and so far the best method for me is some APC in my wee pump sprayer, mostly spraying on the lower parts and at the front. Using "Auto glym'' apc. I'm going to try adding apc with citrus Pre wash in a foam cannon and see what it's like. Lot of rain this summer so working on my website more than detailing right now but things will improve. 🙂
Hey Phil back to the beard, really suits you, I use 3m degreaser diluted 1/10 and wheel brushes but never thought to put on the paint, I’m a once a week guy so car never really gets that dirty buy wheels get that treatment ever wash, thanks for the video
Oh yeah. Thanks! Beard never left. I just have older videos still archived that I edit and publish each week. So you’re seeing older videos. But yeah if your vehicle is welled maintained and washes weekly, you don’t need to do an apc rinse at all. 😎👍🏼
I use super clean 7-1 in a hand pump weed sprayer. Then after I let it soak for a minute, I foam the car with a cheap but effective car wash soap (it has a turtle on the bottle 😂). This allows me to leave the super clean on the car without drying for a bit longer. Then rinse. That works awesome for me. It will let it start eating at any tar as well and make it super easy to get off. I have never had an issue even though it makes my wife nervous. Lol. Then wash with incredible suds and so on.
I live is Florida I usually do pre soak then hit it with labocosmetica trio the best thing on the planet but before that I regularly did pre soak then foam cannon super clean works great as directed great vid as always...
Hi Phil I have a question I just purchased a brand new ram and I washed it when I was washing it it felt like sandpaper should I use a clay mit while washing or should I spray that stuff that turns purple or do both and if i clay mit do I have to polish damm I wish I lived closer to you so I could just have detail it please help thank you
Hey I'm sure Phil has some videos on his channel to help you with this. From my experience with my vehicle's you have contamination on the body so I use P&S perforated clay towel and rinseless wash for lubrication and go over all the panels. I soak the clay towel in rinseless first and spray the panel then use the clay towel with NO pressure. Just move it back and forth and feel if the contamination is being removed.
Hi. I like to use the clay mitt or towel as I wash with tons of soap on the vehicle. Then after the everything is rinsed I may need to either clay mitt again or use a clay bar if it’s really bad and then use an iron remover at the end to get any last little bits of iron
@@MirandaDetailing so hot and sunny here in tn.have a great blue pressure washer all the foam party in the world.need the shade to wash,no garage per se so i use the hand car wash with di rinse.talked to the owner soap is ph neutral.no issues there.pain driving but towel and blower hard on the back at home.di rinse blows off on the way home, zero water spots.
i'm just a home guy, not a pro detailer. I rinse, apc, spot treat really nasty spots (bugs usually), foam, scrub, rinse, blow, towel, and go from there. most of my stuff is already coated, so it's either leave dry, or if I have the time 303 graphine spray and wipe.
0:49 “The only time I use a dedicated bug remover is on previously sealed, waxed or ceramic coated cars.” Is my understanding of this correct?; Using an APC or degreasing prewash is effective for bugs, but will strip protection. Where a dedicated bug remover generally won’t strip protection?
Hey Leonidas! ha ha, Super clean really works for the price but I can't get it here. With our tropical climate, We use Adams Strip wash for a pre-rinse. Why?, because it works and does not leave water spots or damage anything even if it dries on the surface. Just Foaming it on then a bucket wash. The average ambient temp here is 90F. But I could use some super clean, It would help us a lot since we are in a third-world-country and we cannot charge as much as you guys.
Hey Phil. Wanting to play around with this method in the weeks to come throughout the winter for harsh grime and road salt. Just finished applying a Meguiar’s spray sealant a few weeks ago that I hoped would last for the winter season. Would this APC pre-rinse be safe to do with this type of protection or would it chew right through the sealant? If so, is there a better SC dilution ratio that works in the IK Foam Pro? Or would you recommend a different product altogether? Thanks, dude.
Hi. So for vehicles that already have good protection on them I wouldn't use a strong APC for pre-washing. Pre-washing like this is meant for initial details. If the vehicle is really dirty you can use a shampoo formulated to break down dirt without compromising the protection. Something like this bit.ly/4gxWozT Or this stuff is actually formulated to attack salts. bit.ly/3VAfFZs
I'm not a pro I just do my own vehicles, but for quite some time I've been using Mothers California Gold to wash and/or clay bar, then Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Wax. Never knew about pre-washing like the pros do until a few months ago. Right now I'm trying out Chemical Guys Snow Foam to pre-wash, rinse, then wash again with it using a microfiber mitt. If Super Clean can do what you say, then I'm sold! I already use it for many other things around that house. Why have 20 different things when one product can do so much?.
Only use the apc rinse or pre wash like this on initial details or really dirty vehicles, like I mentioned. It’s not meant to be used on a regular basis.
I wash my truck once a week sometimes every other week depending on weather. I watch your Koch chemie video a while back with Jason and you washed his car with active foam. I use AF in the IK foam pro 12 with one gallon water and I oz AF. Is this ok to be used every wash as a pre wash. I just want to know it’s not degrading my coating. I have csl and exo v5 that I just coated my truck with. I previously had Kamikaze Miyabi.
You probably don’t need it every wash, unless you vehicle gets really dirty. But if you wash it often probably just a quick rinse foam and contact wash. Sometimes we do that on really clean vehicles.
Im terrible with ratio's. Does a 10:1 dilution in a (1L) foam cannon mean I would use 384ml in 616ml of water? Why does the ratio change just because you switch to a different device to apply the product - Im assuming that is a volume issue of whatever container. Also, what did you use as your contact wash? Thanks!!
Hi. Ratios made me confused at first also. But check this out. ruclips.net/video/9cCacFdc2CU/видео.htmlsi=gj9_uP07tZcMBlA4 Let me know if you have any questions.
You can, but I don't use APC's on Coated vehicles anymore. I use Koch Chemie Super Foam in a foam cannon and foam the entire vehicle down. works great.
Depending on the condition of the vehicle and its existing protection, when they are very dirty (and always on tires and wheel wells) I like to do the APC rinse with Super Clean (easy to access and economical), Superior Dark Fury or DIY All Clean, but if it's normal maintenance (not so messy) DIY Rinseless Wash (DIY, McKee's N-914) or Turtle Wax Max Power. Rinse and then contact wash with a good soap or rinseless.
Very good advice as always, thank you! I have doubts regarding the appropriate time to apply the APC to the door jambs, do you recommend doing it at the same time as applying it to the entire vehicle or exactly before the contact wash, while washing tires and rims?
Best for me depends on if its a vehicle ive already done....if its new, ill do the apc pre wash(greenstar, super clean etc) then do contact.....if its one i've already done and its not too dirty then ill do a rinseless wash pre wash, rinse off then do the contact.
Usually the cars are detailed haven’t been washed for six months to a year so the method I use is the hot water pressure washer for pre-rinse and then I use vonixx citron
Hi Phil. Cool video! I am an avid Super Clean user for my tires and wheels. I have ceramic spray on my car and don't typically use it on my paint, but do use it to remove bugs front the front grill. It works GREAT!! Not sure why folks would give you grief for using it. I have a question on a different topic. Question...I just assembled my new Simpson Clean Machine pressure washer. It has 1700 PSI, 1.0 GPM output. It came with only 2 nozzles: Turbo and 15 degree. I want to get a 40 degree tip to have a better fan for the water when washing my car. However, I'm confused about what size tip to get. The nozzle has 154100 on it. Most of the online nozzle calculators put the nozzle size I need at 1.53. Question...Do nozzles actually come in that size? I haven't found one. Or would you recommend getting a 2? I hope that made sense.🤨 I'm not a pro detailer, just a lady on a budget that wants to keep her ride clean, shiny and pristine. Please advise. Thanks!
Hi. Some people are grossly misinformed or just follow some arbitrary rules set by other detailers bout methods or products. As you may already know, I don’t abide by that, I use logic, reason, and thinking ability to make decisions. 😁🤣😎👍🏼. So does the pressure gun use regular pressure washer tips like these amzn.to/3WmSJhm
@@MirandaDetailing Agreed. Not sure why some folks are so set on being ding-dongs... As for the pressure gun, I think it will. Gonna give it a shot. Thanks for your feedback, Phil! MUCH appreciated as always!!!
@@MirandaDetailing Indeed, some folks do grab the horse from the wrong end. You're GREAT at what you do, Phil! Otherwise, I wouldn't watch your vids as often as I do! I appreciate your insight and expertise and am most grateful that you actually reply to my questions. I do think that the nozzles that you recommended will work with my new pressure washer. I will find out shortly and report back. Thanks again!!!
Phil…hello Sir! I love using Super Clean. It’s been a very affective APC for me for years. And it’s Super cheap! Thx for the videos! I’m looking for a new high quality car shampoo that is versatile where I can get a good foam while using the cannon, but also mix up a batch in a bucket for hand washes. Would you have a recommendation? Thx again.
Im finding that the bugs stick worse on a car with no protection so I will use my super clean on them before I wash. I only use rinseless at this time cuz I dont have a power washer.
Do you ever agitate a pre-rinse on the paint? It depends on what pre-rinse i use. Here in Wisconsin, we have road salt and road treatment solutions. For that mineral deposit, i use Carpro Descale. For all other road films, i use Carpro Lift. If i have a nasty dirty car, i use Super Clean 4:1 from a I.K. Pro foamer. Works well. Do you save tons of money buying Super Clean by the case? I usually wait for a sale and buy gallons. Ok.....thanks for the video. Your folks are the best. Hi wife.
Oh the blasphemy. You are supposed to have 30 bottles of miscellaneous cleaners from every manufacturer neatly hanging in a custom rack on a moveable cart. One bottle for lug nuts. Another for rims. Then of course there are separate bottles for plastic, glass, door handles etc. 🤣
This may sound crazy to you but I use 1oz of baby shampoo + 1/2 oz of superior formula 4 to 1 gallon of distilled water and it’s been working fine for me!
You grew your beard... Does it drip when doing interiors? The first thing i grab before any prepping is a sweat towel . If I dont have that the vehicle cant get any type of vacuuming, pre washes, or foam baths...
@@MirandaDetailing I always ask during my exhibition washes if their cars have any form of protection and if not I always go around the car with a bug mit drenched in degreaser and soap with a old micro fiber that has all the dye rinsed away from washing them with non acetone nail polish remover to wipe away blemishes and some left over bug guts ..
I use a citrus 🍊 purpose cleaner. I have a friend who distributor of Olympic brand and best thing he gives me gallon when ever I need it. It also works great deluded 100:1 window cleaner.I do detail his truck also.
Phil I’ve got a huge request if and when you have time. Would you please demonstrate how to assemble the ik Pro 12 from the start? Connecting tubes, the wand’s assembly. Because I’m can’t get mine to spray and my connectors leak which is why I can’t get to pressure up. Help me John Wick . Only you can save us folks with no tinkering skills
Hi. It could leaves some staining on certainly surfaces. But that’s only if it’s too strong of a dilution on older surfaces or super hot surfaces. But I haven’t had isssues either, but it’s a safe way to go about it.
@@MirandaDetailing I've used Meguiars APC 1:4 and 1:9 luckily without issues (on cool surface and NOT in direct sun). I am spraying whole car and when i end the process usually APC is already dry :)) But multiple times i have crossed on warnings on leaving APC on surface and i couldn't find the right answer. Thank you for the answer and reply :)
No, it's not too late, again because its diluted 1:10 it's not so strong as to cause major damage, drying and completely dry for a long period of time are two different things entirely. I even had it dry completely before and it still didn't cause any damage, it's just a precaution for everyone because different vehicles have different variables going on. Super clean and other APC's when diluted properly and used properly will NOT cause any issues
@BrandonBuilds-pf1hz 🤔 ummmm ok. I mean it depends on some factors. Fresh vs baked on, what type of bugs. We don’t have problems with even older bugs. 90% of them melt off. The rest of the bug residue usually needs to be polished away. But that’s normal, that’s bug removal for ya.
The only reason to buy any of the fancy pre-wash products is if you’re want to preserve a car that has already been paint corrected and coated if you’re gonna buff it out and it there is absolutely no sense to waste your money on any of these products, the simple wash and clay and get to work There is products out there. Keep it simple is key.
SC is THE best tire cleaner I have ever used … at full strength. Downside = the smell will set your lungs on fire and if it’s not rinsed thoroughly it will leave behind a chalky mess. That’s exactly why you dilute SC to a very high ratio, like what was demonstrated in the video. Interior 20:1, exterior 10:1 … you can’t go wrong here. However, what SC lacks is lubricity. When I say “lacks”, I mean it has zero. What I do to compensate is I dilute SC with OnR (256:1) instead of just water. Does it have to be OnR? No, it can be most any rinseless wash. Take your pick. The points is … adding the lubricity makes SC the most versatile product in any line up. Also, does it have to be SC? No, Simple Green, Purple Power, etc., all benefit from diluting with a rinseless wash solution. Mr. & Mrs. Phil are wise beyond their years. Loads of experience through trial and error. 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey Phil! I am interested in your thoughts on using APC prerinse before a rinseless wash? I'm thinking: 1. APC (10:1) 2. Rinseless wash pre-spray 3. contact wash 4. dry Would this work?
sorry man , your'e not up to date ... get yourself a tent - don't work in the sun - basics .... should be common knowledge now not to pre rise nowadays ... I actually do like your contend but this is 1995 ...
I've never heard of pre-rinse before and it looks to do a really nice job, but I'm wondering if this product is safe of chrome delete vinyl material? Just looking at what that does to a dirty tire, I wouldn't think its recommended on delete vinyl, but what do I know, what say you?!
Hi. Usually vinyl wraps are pretty resilient to APC’s but you would have to just test it for yourself. But I only use the APC rinse method on the dirty portions of the vehicle, usually the bottom portions, so if the vinyl trim areas are not that dirty don’t worry about using an APC of any kind on them.
I had great results diluting Koch-Chemie Green Star 10:1 in a Merolex Foamer. I sprayed the car one pannel at a time, let it dwell, and rinsed it off with a pressure washer.
First, fill your foam cannon with 1 litre clean water (assuming it holds1 litre)
Attach your pressure washer and shoot into a bucket, with the dial turned to how you normally use it, until your foam cannon is empty.

I've used many different brands of APC and use a pump sprayer to apply. Has always worked good 4 me!
Thanks for sharing.
I just do a good pre rinse with pressure washer to get anything heavy off and if needed I use an apc to sit for a few and then rinse again. All learned here!!
I use the first one and use super clean only the bottom section vehicle and wheel and tires
I got my first foam pump sprayer the axel 2000 Marolex an have my next ergo alka 2000 on the way since I love the first one so much. Such good quality sprayers
Another great video full of very useful tips and tricks.
Glad you enjoyed it😎👍🏼
I usually use super clean mixed 1:3 or 1:4 in a foam cannon with a bit of car shampoo to help with foaming and clinging on the paint. I also use super clean in a sprayer diluted 1:5 or 1:6 with rinseless.
Will it damage any wheels doing it like that?
Nice. Thanks for sharing.
Nope. APC’s like super clean when diluted and used properly work really well.
What do you mean by damage the wheel anyway?
@@MirandaDetailing I thought sc wasn't safe on certain wheels like it would damage them
@@NightmareChronicles77 I haven’t had any issues but I only use super clean diluted on clear coated wheels.
Thanks for sharing! 😎👍🏼
Exactly! Experience teaches you the best ways and methods that work for you! Thanks for sharing! 😎👍🏼
Great video. I use an APC to brand dilution on the IK Foamer with great results of cleanliness and saving time.
Thanks!
Gtechniq Citrus Foam with some Koche Greenstar mixed in. Works well for me.
Thank you.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Yvan from DIY Detail suggest using rinseless wash 256:1 instead of APC's for interiors. APC's can cause problems on interior parts
Thanks!!
@@MirandaDetailing thanks for the reply Phil
I use super clean 7-1 in a hand pump weed sprayer. Then after I let it soak for a minute, I foam the car with a cheap but effective car wash soap (it has a turtle on the bottle 😂). This allows me to leave the super clean on the car without drying for a bit longer. Then rinse. That works awesome for me. It will let it start eating at any tar as well and make it super easy to get off. I have never had an issue even though it makes my wife nervous. Lol. Then wash with incredible suds and so on.
Awesome method! Thanks for sharing.
I live is Florida I usually do pre soak then hit it with labocosmetica trio the best thing on the planet but before that I regularly did pre soak then foam cannon super clean works great as directed great vid as always...
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
I used to use dark fury on tires and wheels but I found that using Super clean in a form sprayer worked great for me 👍
Good stuff
Awesome video and content good friend
I'm new to the channel, but in my experience, I use my foam cannon with super clean, and it does the trick better than any method I've seen.
Awesome! If it works for you then keep on using it! 😎👍🏼
Been using a watered down koche chemie ag from a sprayer as a pre wash.amazing reults ,only in shaded carwash with a di water rinse after soap.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing!😎👍🏼
I recently stumbled upon LA's totally awesome APC I get from the Dollar Tree, it works really well for tires and is super cheap !
Oh yeah! That’s good stuff on tires and well super strong!
Ive been moving towards stronger shampoos to do the pre rinse.. like kc active foam... then doing a contact wash...
Yes. For coated vehicles we use KC Super Foam. .5oz to 32oz in a foam cannon and foam it down. It works great!
0:49 “The only time I use a dedicated bug remover is on previously sealed, waxed or ceramic coated cars.”
Is my understanding of this correct?;
Using an APC or degreasing prewash is effective for bugs, but will strip protection. Where a dedicated bug remover generally won’t strip protection?
Hi. Yes that’s true of the big removers. Usually they are formulated to eat up the bugs with enzymes and not strong high ph formulations like apc.
@@MirandaDetailing great, thanks Phil! You did end up clarifying later in the video, but I appreciate the response 👍 😎
Makes sense to me
Hey Leonidas! ha ha, Super clean really works for the price but I can't get it here.
"For Sparta!!!" 😂. Thanks for sharing!
Something like this bit.ly/4gxWozT
Or this stuff is actually formulated to attack salts. bit.ly/3VAfFZs
I've been using super clean for years . I use about an ounce in the foam cannon .
Definitely give it a try
Is it safe to apc pre wash weekly ? Or better use safer pre wash ?
Only use the apc rinse or pre wash like this on initial details or really dirty vehicles, like I mentioned. It’s not meant to be used on a regular basis.
I use purple power similar to how you use super clean, although purple power might be weaker now that i see how well super clean works.
True. I found purple power to be a little weaker.
But check this out. ruclips.net/video/9cCacFdc2CU/видео.htmlsi=gj9_uP07tZcMBlA4
Let me know if you have any questions.
Is it ok to use apc on a ceramic coated (c quartz uk) vehicle as a prewash?
Thanks for sharing!
Very good advice as always, thank you! I have doubts regarding the appropriate time to apply the APC to the door jambs, do you recommend doing it at the same time as applying it to the entire vehicle or exactly before the contact wash, while washing tires and rims?
Yeah we usually do the jambs as we apc rinse around the vehicle. It can dwell longer in the jambs since it’s. It in direct sunlight.
Best for me depends on if its a vehicle ive already done....if its new, ill do the apc pre wash(greenstar, super clean etc) then do contact.....if its one i've already done and its not too dirty then ill do a rinseless wash pre wash, rinse off then do the contact.
Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
Usually the cars are detailed haven’t been washed for six months to a year so the method I use is the hot water pressure washer for pre-rinse and then I use vonixx citron
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Phil.
Thx again.
Hi. Give this a try www.carsupplieswarehouse.com/products/diy-detail-incredible-suds
@@MirandaDetailing Thank You! I’ll give it a try.
never thought to put super clean in the foam cannon. next wash I need to play with that.
Definitely! Works great!
Anyone know how Purple Power compares to Super Clean? I ended up with 32oz of it by mistake.
I used both and found super clean to be stronger.
Im finding that the bugs stick worse on a car with no protection so I will use my super clean on them before I wash. I only use rinseless at this time cuz I dont have a power washer.
Very true! It’s so nice washing a well maintained and protected vehicle, especially coated vehicles. They clean up so easy! Thanks!😎👍🏼
What does 10:1 ratio mean?
Hi. It means 10 parts water 1 part product.
ruclips.net/video/9cCacFdc2CU/видео.htmlsi=Rcv42nIQt7Yx1GMX
Do you ever agitate a pre-rinse on the paint?
It depends on what pre-rinse i use. Here in Wisconsin, we have road salt and road treatment solutions. For that mineral deposit, i use Carpro Descale. For all other road films, i use Carpro Lift. If i have a nasty dirty car, i use Super Clean 4:1 from a I.K. Pro foamer. Works well.
Do you save tons of money buying Super Clean by the case?
I usually wait for a sale and buy gallons.
Ok.....thanks for the video. Your folks are the best. Hi wife.
Hi. Nope no agitation until the contact wash. Sometimes I will agitate the bugs on the front end, but that’s it.
🤣😎👍🏼
Right 😂 People really overthink this stuff.
I always wanted to try super clean I your always talking about being good I always wanted try using it on my car
What’s your go to chemical for the lug nuts
@bkeets3 Thw same as the wheel cleaner. if they are really bad maybe an acid based wheel cleaner like Nanoskin Speedy bright.
This may sound crazy to you but I use 1oz of baby shampoo + 1/2 oz of superior formula 4 to 1 gallon of distilled water and it’s been working fine for me!
Cool! Thanks for sharing!
You grew your beard... Does it drip when doing interiors? The first thing i grab before any prepping is a sweat towel . If I dont have that the vehicle cant get any type of vacuuming, pre washes, or foam baths...
I cut it short recently because it’s so hot and humid now. But I always have a face drying towel I use, it’s a most have in the summer.

What happens if you let APC dry? In few occasions i let APC dry, so far no issues
I am spraying whole car and when i end the process usually APC is already dry :))
But multiple times i have crossed on warnings on leaving APC on surface and i couldn't find the right answer. Thank you for the answer and reply :)
Hi guys, I noticed you typically don’t hit the windows with the APC. Is that because it’s not needed or because it is problematic?
Hi. We usually just hit the bottom portions because they are the dirtiest. If the glass doesn’t need it we don’t use it on it.

Curious if anyone was diluted the product called “Awesome” and used it as a pre rinse?
I used to back in the day. It’s really strong and works, but it’s stopped using it when I started using Super clean.
Super Clean is a great degreaser
Hey you said "if you see it drying spray some more".. but if you see it drying isn't that bad and too late?
No, it's not too late, again because its diluted 1:10 it's not so strong as to cause major damage, drying and completely dry for a long period of time are two different things entirely. I even had it dry completely before and it still didn't cause any damage, it's just a precaution for everyone because different vehicles have different variables going on. Super clean and other APC's when diluted properly and used properly will NOT cause any issues
@@MirandaDetailing 1:10 will barely even work on bugs
Very true!
All u need is a flannel shirt 2 look like Al Burlun from tool time 😆😆😆😆😆😆
🤣😎👍🏼. “I don’t think so Tim” 🤣
👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks! Great tips!! 😎👍🏼
Rinse less wash
Yeah I’ve used that also works good in most cases. Sometimes I just need something stronger. But Rinseless is definitely a good option also.
Hey Phil! I am interested in your thoughts on using APC prerinse before a rinseless wash? I'm thinking:
1. APC (10:1)
2. Rinseless wash pre-spray
3. contact wash
4. dry
Would this work?
Oh yeah. I’ve done that before, looks like a solid plan.
