It's like hoarders and people with super nasty houses. Mental health issues are hard to overcome to maintain cleanliness in all aspects of life. The cleaner my car, room, self, etc is, the better I am feeling mentally. It's especially difficult to keep your car clean when your work is dirty work. I worked in a woodshop so my car interior would be caked in sawdust constantly.
