Foo Fighters' songs... to me, they are like an old friend that always comes to you when you most needs him, rests his hands on your shoulders, looks at you right in the eye and whispers: "I know what's in your mind, I understand you because we are going through the same shit, I KNOW you and I'm here for you". It happens to me with almost every single fucking song of them. They make me go through the whole emotional spectrum on the freaking 5 minutes average of a song's length. Sadness, anger, desperation, solitude, hope, more anger, hopelessness, hope again, strength... to end with the "I will whoop yo' fucking arse, you Goddamn life!!" kind of feeling. Love them. XD. Guys, you always make me feel less alone and raise my spirit. THANK YOU! Love you.
so true
hey take it easy and don't read into it this so deep. it is a song, someone else wrote, for entertainment purpose Only: Try Stealheart- 1990 tour
it happens with EVERY song? EVERY time? once in a while that sounds cool, but every song every time? you might wanna talk to somebody.
sure it happens, and you can talk if you want to all of us here or get one of us privately. We are here to chat and have fun and if we can help, the better. Yes, you are right, it does happen and those rushes poured out like the river. Peace.
Best comment ever!!!
Its kinda bittersweet seeing all these comments from all these years ago.
I hope everyone's doing great
Rock on!
It's so crazy how active these videos still are
Now I'm seeing this comment a year later... Hope you're doing good!
Man a little late but keep on rocking too
My favorite Foo Fighters song, without a doubt, and I love many. My heart is broken today knowing we will NEVER, EVER hear Taylor's unbelievable drumming. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that he is gone. My musical world has ended. miss you already.
You have so many videos, records and entire concerts here, not to mention the HBO series and countless tv appearances - he's left you with far more history than most ever get to be a part of. Drug users usually don't get allowed the time to leave so much of an imprint. Value and appreciate what's left behind, and try to understand that a physical effort he gave also leaves pain and injuries, along with his constant battle with stage fright. His huge oversized heart gave us all he could give, and I fully appreciate that. Just try to look at things from different angles. He got 20 more years than what went down in London might have not allowed. He was very lucky and gifted all the way. You want to pay him respect, play his music so loud he hears it, looks down and grins that toothy grin...
@@jimdonovan8213 Thanks for the reply, Jim. I have some questions for you. From what we know, (which is only a small fraction of what happened) Dave and Taylor were inseparable. Do you think Dave didn't know about Taylor's current drug problem(s)? If he didn't, how could he not? I know you can't force someone into recovery, but don't you think he would have insisted on rehab for Taylor??? Part of my despondence and disbelief is that on the surface, it looks like NO ONE KNEW OF HIS CURRENT STRUGGLE with drugs. I guess I am looking for someone to blame (sorry, but I am selfish and need to find a reason/scapegoat for bad things happening) besides the obvious person (Taylor). I have not found a place to ask these questions in general and am interested in hearing what others are thinking also. What are your thoughts on this???
@@lorettanaas2139 Its possible that deep down inside they knew, simply because it shows on his face - yet his performance was still perfect so they might have believed his lies. The road takes a lot of endurance ability, and at age 50 on a physical drummer he may well have been suffering. What you brought up will linger in Dave's head for a long time. He may well work other projects for a few yrs before working in a new drummer. He certainly recovered well from a drug death earlier. I'll look forward to his next moves. You don't need to point a finger. The drug addict is far more responsible for his own death more than dealers, wife, band, parents, etc. Addiction is what made him a truly great drummer. Unfortunately, drug addiction ALWAYS leads to funerals unless its treated as seriously as needed, which is 24/7. Try to enjoy his awesome work, and please just let it go.
They almost broke up 20 yrs ago when Taylor overdosed in Europe, I think it was. Was in the hospital for awhile. If he kept his addiction all that time and got.married and had kids, he hid it well. I'm sure it even went thru periods where he didn't touch any drugs for months
Alcohol maybe. Then it always picks back up for certain people. Addiction is always there and is a lifetime battle. Unfortunately
Highly recommend Taylor Hawkins and The Coattail Riders albums if you haven't heard them, they're all really good.
Foo Fighters are like wine... They age like gold!
Foo fighters help me with my depression. I really appreciate their songs. I love them all and hopefully one day I'll meet Dave Grohl he is one of my musical inspirations such as slash as well.
Marcos Cortes slash.. go on stoke
Me too!
Year late reply, If you haven't met him already, good luck :)
I hope you do meet him man he is my greatest insperation as well and im glad this band helped you through those dark days
The Pretender is my favorite for that purpose... "What if I say that I'll never surrender?" Yeah, take THAT, depression!
Descanse em paz Taylor
One of their best songs and most likely underappreciated.
Un tema de orgullo historico
Resultando la nesidadad de los combustible y la cantidad de seres humanos
Que hoy día viven cálidos y en confor
It’s a good one. I like where they did this one as it is in my birthplace of New Orleans. A really great song. I loved the Sonic Highways series.
Amazing the number of people ragging on this album because it's not "Wasting Light." Well, it's not. It is an entirely different project. If you want to hear Wasting Light, go listen to it. If you want a band that makes the same album every time, AC/DC just put out the 15th version of the same album last month. This is a quality album. Maybe not their best, but it's an excellent record.
I agree..ac/dc sounds all the same...except for they're dirty deeds album..which is my fav by them..cause it doesn't sound like all the others..
Don't knock AC/DC. Appreciate we have both. Big AC/DC fan. If it's so easy why isn't everyone doing it? A. Because it isn't easy. Write a riff that sells millionsssss then knock it.--maybe.
I wasn't knockin it..I saw ac/dc in concert..been listening to them for many yrs..just my opinion..as you can see..i did say I have a fav by them!!
Not knocking AC/DC. Love them since the 70s, but they are not much for sound evolution. That's my point. Most of my guitar education came thanks to learning AC/DC riffs and Angus blues/rock style.
This is actually one of my favorite Foo Fighters albums, sure I like their old songs a lot more but in my opinion this is their most consistent and solid album as far as what I like.
Amo ver la sonrisa de Taylor disfrutando en cada golpe a la batería. Sin dudas se fue el corazón de FF... No hay consuelo para semejante pérdida, se fue muy pronto este genio y nos dejó con un vacío enorme...
Honestly. i got up crying depressed today.. and foo fighters music is such a bomb of endorphin's!! and other then their music... i fucking love Daves sense of humor really cheery and good spirited guy! I wish he could see my comment, and how much he really reached out to me this morning and made me feel so much better.. and Im sure hes heard it all at this point, but hes a fucking legend!
I listen to them while working out in gym. Makes me so happy through out a whole day and beyond. Lost lots of weight too, which helps too. ☺
With all that happened to them this past weeks, I'm sure he'd appreciate your words. I've followed this band since their inception, and while I haven't liked every single thing they've done, I've liked 99 percent of it and I ways appreciate them as people. They're one of the. Est bands of the past 25-26 yrs. Bar none
Foo Fighters, the only place where it's hard to find an ''I miss old...'' comments
They are still awesome
+CINEM4 they got better with every album
I wonder what they will be like in 10 years
+bartekgrajek hopefully still together
+bartekgrajek Dave Grohl will have become super Jesus.
+CINEM4 Fuck you. I miss good old Kurt.
My faves since 1996… Love your music, RIP dear Taylor you will be missed. Foo Fighters forever
Rest in Peace brother Hawkins. We will always miss you. I often wonder if the chaos and hectic breakneck pace of a concert tour is just too much to sanely handle. There has got to be some physical and mental health protocols and protections in place.
FF you make wonderful music that speaks to me. Thank you all of you who make it happen!
Just graduated and listening to Foo Fighters all day is the only reason i dont swerve into traffic in this corporation hellscape. No other band resonates with me like these dudes
I hope you are well Corey. It’ll all be ok. You’ll see. It takes time to find your people. Work, friends, relationships. They will find you & be there for you. Just like Foo Fighters. No matter what, they got your back♥️
This is a Great song for a few reasons…First and foremost is the Respect they showed to Preservation Hall and Everyone who played there before them, and second it’s probably one of the Best songs they’ve ever done…Much Respect…
I Used not to understand the lyrics of Foo's songs, even deemed them low quality, but after a while played these songs and understood its meassage and intensity. Now they make me feel laid back , confident and energetic.
If you listen to their music, I mean really listen, you will pick up on the talent, artistry and sense of how much they care about making quality music and songs.
How could you NOT feel better seeing this group of handsome men in suits singing this song!! They are definitely an inspiration!!
Maybe bc their music ultimately sucks?
Lol. 2 yrs later..I still feel the same. Foo Fighters Rock!!!
@@madspunch you need to check your ears
Being from New Orleans, the lyrics to this song really hit. I had goosebumps the whole time listening to it.
I hated music when I was little, and it's all Casey Casem's fault. My older sister wanted to watch his top ten, and I wanted to watch cartoons. Can you blame me?
BUT, when I started working nightshifts at Burger King back in Windsor, Ontario, it was the radio station 89X that played the tunes I actually liked, though, most noteable, the beloved Foo Fighters (and special shout out to TOOL, Pearl Jam, and Our Lady Peace). It was the days of "This is a Call," and onto "Everlong." Those songs wrap up many days and a few years of life during my teens. Now, about twenty years later, Foo Fighters are putting out rockin' songs like "In the Clear," and God, I gotta say, I love the Foo Fighters. They strike a chord in my that keeps me feeling more than alive. Big love and thanks to all who're riding this same wave. Peace Out.
So inspirational to see how much you have evolved with foo fighters beautiful story cheers from Australia
Cheers Man!
Finally you got your wishes. Try Stealheart
Listening to these songs after so many years, I really understand the beauty
This is the song I’m going to play when the corona virus pandemic is over
Hopefully that time comes soon.
Fully agree that this is the anthem. This and Times like these
Sounds Good 😊 I'm having a burn these F'ing Face MASKS Party 🎆 I'm going to play this song. Also, Times Like These, Five Finger Death Punch...A Little Off and to Top it off its going to be Mr. Fantasy by Traffic ❤That was a Quarantine song as well. At least That's over (People are Nuts) time for my medicine (ha ha) tonight having some Garlic Cookies doesn't smell or taste like either 1 but, it gets the job done 😊🔥🌻😎♥️🇺🇸🎆😜
Or when we at least get out of lockdown
@@dylan-re6rz Where are you that you're in LOCKDOWN? I'm just curious. 🇺🇸
Hoy he tenido un día de mierda, tengo depresión. Pero he escuchado sus canciones todo el día y me han ayudado a desahogarme. Los quiero y espero que Taylor esté en un lugar muy tranquilo.
Miss you guys! Much love! Forever TH. Forever FF! 💕
There are so many gems on this album....this like all of them underated....
One of the best songs of Foo Fighter history!
"In the Clear " has become my fav. Foos song since 'Everlong".Love the lyrics;it's really well written;& of course it rocks too!
Sometimes it's performances like these that make me realize how fun, talented and cool the Foo Fighters are. Let's cherish them all be they in the here and now, or in the hereafter.
The Sonic Highways series showed just how much they are really into the history of music and all the work they put in to make really good albums. They are artists and not just musicians.
Sonic highways. The best music documentary I ever seen
Foo Fighters are the greatest rock band in the world, ever.
Nirvana also I like how they were so authentic and how mainstream came to them rather then them going to mainstream
Nah, but they're definitely up there as one of the greatest tho.
If you take out the “rock” than your more correct

dude this song came out 3 years ago you just lied to us shame on you.
YOU REALLY COUNT IT???
This song makes me reflect on life and all those situations where things aren’t going your way and may never but if your reading this please remember you will be in the clear soon enough don’t count yourself out because you are not alone and even though I may now know you I wish you peace and tranquility so you can enjoy being in the clear
This song gives me goosebumps. Beautiful - and even more emotional as we just recently saw the Foos here live, for the first time, in South Africa,
I'm always happily surprised at the effect that music has on my, and everyone else's, life. It's a magical thing, to be swept away by a song. These guys do it right.
I'm really starting to like the Foo Fighters new sound. I don't see why other people don't like this album. I agree this album is different but it's a good different. I wasn't expecting this album to sound like Wasting Light, I was expecting it to sound different and so far I'm really impressed with this album.
Denver Miner one of my favs.
This song makes me feel alive, makes feel something different, a senseation i cant explain, something like "we have real hope", than we can be stronger than we think, foo fighters, youre héroes with your músic, thank you, really thank you, you aré the Best, hope you read this, when some day you need to hear It.
This very song... this very music clip was my introduction to rock.
I remember being a kid (about 12 yrs? 13?) in the living room when the commercials were singing this tune, back then there was a higher probability that I'd be watching TV to see this clip rather than the actual thing going...
In The Clear made me grow into who I am today
I love this!
This is my favorite song on the album!
My husband got me listening to Foo and since I have become such a fan!! I love the old songs but this new album is motivation and direction for me. I needed something and got just that confirmation from it!
Oh my god. I just realized the moment I fell in love with New Orleans, was 2 years before I even went there 😱🥺 I felt like I was exactly where I needed to be, when I needed to be. It really was a soul’s homecoming ❤️
You know, there's really no point to listen and judge "Sonic Highways" without seeing the HBO series.... they complement each other in the way Dave planned.
The documentary adds an entire new meaning to every aspect of the album (lyrics and overall sound in particular) and together with it express the true core of the concept wich the Foo's tried to capture by going in many cities, record the songs in beatiful places rich of culture and stories, talk to the people who lived and played music there, etc.
If you haven't, I would suggest to do yourself a favor and go watch it, maybe it will change your perspective about these songs.
I totally agree which is why I’m glad I watched the whole thing before listening to the cd...I grew up in Rockford,Illinois where Cheap Trick is from so the Chicago episode is my favorite but this episode is a very close second, this song along with images of Preservation Hall brought tears to my eyes the first time I saw it...
So love this song! Just hope I can reach anyone of the musicians that originated it. I am a native New Orleanian that lived Katrina. Showed this to my sister and close to 90 year old New Orleans mom. All thumb's up! Thank you for showing the spirit of the city!
It's been 2 years guys thank you so much your music is very close to me personal to me thank you all
Miss you Taylor. Always smiling and loving life. ❤
Was in a toxic relationship mostly because of my mental trauma making me emotionally distant. Didnt become aware enough until it was too late, but I am not afraid to a loving and vulnerable person anymore, so thank you for being in my life.
"Algumas vezes eu sinto vontade de desistir
Algumas vezes eu começo a começar novamente"
We just visited New Orleans, I swear, I went to this place just because the Foo Fighters talked about it ... epic trip, everyone should visit New Orleans some time in their lifes
Best project of the year. With the series and music so intertwined, possibly best album of the year.
I really love you guys. Your music is absolutely amazing. There's really no other way to say it. You guys are exactly amazing. I can't wait to see you in Boston!
Como pode uma música ser tão inspiradora e motivacional? Levarei essa musica até o fim da minha vida. Feliz 2016 a todos :)
As a 72 y/o your music makes me feel so young again. I listen to it every day. I feel so bad for all us on the passing f Taylor
I'm so excited. I get to go to Preservation Hall in this video apart of my school band trip!
I can’t honestly get my mind around the loss of Taylor… The Foos music helped me through the years. Felt like I lost my brother.
I discover this band recently, they can't be that freaking good
Welcome an dyes they’ve been that good for 20 yrs
彼らの楽曲は本当にメロディーがいい。ギター1本の弾き語りでも魅力が伝わるものばかりだから、ハードに演奏してもけっしてうるさくならない。声にも真実味が溢れていてとても好感を持てますね。
“ There are times I feel like giving in..... There are times I begin to begin again “ It’s so true but to lift this heaviness that I created myself, I will find a different song, a positive one and it feels like a button has been pushed to stop the dark clouds and rain. THANK YOU DAVE GROHL AND EVERYONE OF THE FIGHTERS AND THE REST OF THE BANDS AND ARTISTS ( They know who they are) WHO TOOK THEIR OWN TIME TO HELP PEOPLE WHO ARE SUFFERING AND STRUGGLING IN LIFE BECAUSE THE WORLD IS A SCARY PLACE AND HOPE ( Personally speaking) COMES IN THE FORM OF MUSIC THERAPY. FOOD FOR THE SOUL. IF THATS THE CASE THEN I AM A GREEDY SOUL BECAUSE I LOVE MUSIC SO MUCH.
The button on Nate's collar is sticking out/over his tie knot and it's dialing up my OCD to 11. You're killing me here Nate ! (Good song though ; )
BREATH BUDDY BREATH😁
I LOVE this album!!!! The Foo's ROCK!
Out of every song in Sonic Highways, I feel like this song really has that iconic Foo Fighters touch to it.
I just like music videos like this that have the lyrics within the video so you could watch and sing along to.
My little sister was born 2 weeks ago and this is the very first song she heard i am 13 and my dad played my hero when i was born and i thought i would do it with Jessica hopefully she turns into a foo fighters fan and she will love them as much as i do 🎸
Lauren Rolland I wish my family was a Foo Fighters fan just like yours. All they like is, Fatty Wapp, the new Kanye, Taylor Swift...smh
I wasn't aware that there were a sea of unhappy Foo-Foo's. I'm not exactly one who pays much attention to reality these days anymore-I find reality quite scary and getting older? Well, what could be more frightening? This record though, it's quite good. Anyone not seeing it isn't giving it a real chance. Everyone has their "new music" routine-mine's still going to the 'record store' and buying the CD, I unwrap it in my vehicle and listen to it for the next week or so..in my car. It was this song, "in the clear" that popped one night when I realized it now shed the whole record in a new light for me. It made me understand the other songs much better, I gave them chances and now each of those songs are ready in my head, to think of while in some unsavory moment of life, I mentally can hear this music. Only special bands and their music do this for me...So for the stubborn Foo's out there, open up a little more, this shit is really good..
For what ever reason, this Foo’s song resonates with me more than any other, and believe me; that is saying something…….they have more than one……
FF is medicine. Always there when I need clarity. Dave is the greatest living rock star/human.
The best thing is how the song begins with a close resemblance to everlong
This song are simple and perfect, like all Foo Fighter songs.
That bridge and riff are just so beautiful. The riff always makes me want to tear up. Takes me back to better days.
When the new album came out I almost cried out of joy becuz these guys are the best band that has ever and will ever exist
Ok I confess, I never listened to Foo Fighters new album. But I went and watched them in my home town on the 18th of feb! Now, I cannot stop. Just so damn amazing. Foo fighters, you are amazing. :)
The Foo Fighters have grown so much as musicians. I can't wait for this album! :D
I really LOVE this song :3
The most beautiful song of sonic highways. One of foo's best works
+Javier Alejandro Zúñiga what about congregation or something from nothing those are also good songs
Yes they are. 1° In the clear. 2° Outside.
3° Congregation. 4° The feast and the famine
5° Something from nothing. 6° Subterranean.
7° I'm a river. 8° What did I do
I think this is an awesome song - love the fact that the words are shown to emphasise how powerful they are. LOVE Foo Fighters!!
It’s absolute gospel truth when I state the fact that this is the greatest band in the world. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼R.I.P. Taylor
1:50... I think Dave loves that Roxy Rolleresque guitar thingy. He uses it A LOT!
Magnificent song, footos are the best band in the world
I have so much respect for this men, and the group. So inspiring!
One word.. FANTASTIC.. 🥰
I am glad that Rock still lives
holy hotness! Love this song, love these men!

Congratulations New Orleans City, Temple of Blues and Jazz, which in 2018 was to complete 300 years of rich History and Traditions. Happy Birthday New Orleans!!
is normal somepoeple say some foo fighters song are underrated, i mean every foo fighters song is underrated, even everlong is unerrated, that songs should have at least 500 million views xD.
nah just kidding, idk why somepople doesnt like this album, i mean the album has great songs, grat stories behid the songs, every songs feels like a continuation of tthe last, is a really great work, amazing job, i mean maybe it is not the wasting ligth but men, the wasting ligth is somehting that happens every 100 years :P
I admit there are some songs from bands I don't like but I still like the album if it has some good songs
Only music that usually people like(in the Sonic Highways) is Something from Nothing.

The spelling, the spelling...
I'm not a fan of foo fighters, but I always like the songs of you guys. And this album also is fuck amazing
There are days I might not make it
There are days I might start brakin’
When the rain starts coming down as heavy as the air
You can find me dancing with the spear
It’s in the square god damn I swear
There are times I feel like givin' in
There are times I begin to begin again
Look outside the world keeps spinning like a paddle wheel
Rolling for the broken hearted waiting on the heel
You know I'm not in the clear
You are not in the clear
Don’t you go count me out now dear
You know I'm not in the clear
You are not in the clear
Don’t you go count me out now dear
In the clear
There are places I don't remember
There are faces I don't remember
How could I forget you painted stars into the sky
Coming like a reaper marching in the second life
You know I'm not in the clear
You are not in the clear
Don’t you go count me out now dear
You know I'm not in the clear
You are not in the clear
Don’t you go count me out now dear
In the clear
And if I should drown
May this be the sound
To wash me out!
You know I'm not in the clear
You are not in the clear
Don’t you go count me out now dear
You know I'm not in the clear
You are not in the clear
Don’t you go count me out now dear
In the clear
Rest well Taylor. The chord progression in this song is similar to The Eagles' "Take It Easy", just a little heavier. Great song Foos, hope to see you again someday.
I love you foo fighters!!!we all do🤘🤘🤘🤘
After 20 years foo fighters still is amazing
This is the best song from the record.
I'm beyond the moon that Foo Fighters and Dave spent time to learn the history of New Orleans not only in music but in general. My first experience in New Orleans? January of 1991. I had moved to MS in Dec. of 1990. Got a job working on offshore oil rigs. I had to drive through New Orleans looking for U.S. 1 to Venice, LA to get on a helicopter to my job. It's 3am... I pulled over at Elysian Fields to a Shell station/store to ask directions. I get out of my car and walk to this tiny window made of bullet-proof glass... my first clue as to where I'm standing... I ask this woman how to get where I'm going and she just looks at me in shock, awe, wonder, whatever.... as I notice some "locals" in the parking lot looking at me. The punchline? I was a white boy on E.Fields at 3am and now I know why that woman looked at me as if I was the biggest freak on earth. She told me where to go... I ran/jumped in my car and sped off. I spent two weeks offshore and found my way back through the French Quarter where I spent two days falling in love with that city, its people, culture, and her music. I live a peaceful life in the middle of a forrest in MS, an hour away from New Orleans but I visit that beautiful lady every chance I get. Thank you Dave, Foo Fighters, and HBO to showcase a great American city I love. Watching this video was surreal... I've sat in Preservation Hall... touched the walls... and felt at peace in the room you made this video.
Always yours,
Gordon Stoeffler
I read the whole comment. proud of myself for the attention span
OMG,..what a song Mr Foo Fighters,..love you guys since I senior high school!!!
Absolutely LOVE this one!
My favorite from the new album! :D
Mine too
Can we expect a funny music video from this album (a la White Limo, Long Road, Learn to Fly, etc.)?
Probably not sadly, they're just using the final performance videos from the show as videos for this album I think.
Yep i agree
Jack Clarke Too bad...
Jack Clarke well it is a concept album and not a full on singles/album track album like usual
13dirty666 ...I know
Foo Fighters music video are always so awesome.
seriously, sitting at the wheel of my vehicle... hugging the steering wheel trying not to cry .... this is the day this song hit a home run... in the CD player... just playing away.. and I bawl for a minute... and then I am singing at the top of my lungs.... love the way this song speaks to me... it is my all time favorite.... out of all... 20 some years.. this is it...
