Last weekend I did a challenge called the #30HourFamine where I donate money to the hungry/homeless people and then I need to live like a homeless person for 30 hours (no food, a cardboard for a bed, and walking 4 miles without shoes) and thanks to the challenge I understood what the song is talking about. I felt exactly what the song is saying. Btw I nailed the challenge.
wasting light is better but that doesn’t diminish how good sonic highways is, I think people loved wasting light so much they weren’t going to be satisfied with anything directly after, I even didn’t really like it when it came out besides the singles. But after a year or two listening it’s a very clear & natural trajectory from wasting light to sonic highways to then concrete and gold.
R.I.P Taylor Hawkins This is one of my favorite songs from the Foo Fighter’s and the way Taylor played the drums were so unique. You’ll never be forgotten Taylor🙏✊
This album is so fucking good. The problem is that people was expecting something better than Wasting Light, but thats not going to happen because that album was perfect from beggining to the freaking end, its all the time up (like barney stinson said albums had to be). This album is not at the level of the previous one, but is so fucking good at what it is.
Perfect. I think the same. And its common for new bands, they usually have a lot of matterial to use, and have the luxury to discard what is not soo good and have a lot of treasures to work and put on albumn, Usually the firsts albums are the better. What amazes me is that this album have 3 so fucking hot songs, that could be on first albums. Foo figthers essence is there! Long live to Foo Fighters!
Kevin Scarfpin maybe I was not clear. I tried to explain that its easier to make the first albums great albums, cause you have a lot of matterial to work. And it's hard to have an eight album with so great songs, that could be on the best albums.
Fernando Cardoso I get what you're saying, although I don't quite agree with it, but even so, that point would be irrelevant as Wasting Light was their 7th album, and it was probably the best one yet
This album is insane, i hate it how people turn it down because it's not all original Foo Fighters style... They've nailed it, i'm so pumped for their Wembley gig in the summer!
man these lyrics really just inspired me... as a young musician (bass mainly) i have kinda been in a rut, i was getting bored of playing and found myself doing the same things again and again. but now i really feel like i should record a demo or just fucking start a band... who cares if it sucks. Im pretty sure dave sucked at first aswell, and im sure when he was young he too went to record a shitty demo and start a shitty band, and look where he is now.
***** Foo Fighters did not suck when they first came out. Their first album is what got them signed onto a record label and is considered one of their greatest albums ever written. And that was just the beginning with Dave Grohl alone in a recording studio. Not only was that album popular then, but it still has an effect on music and musicians even today.
***** Yeah, I mean, technically they were good, but I could see why someone wouldn't like them at the time or think the sound quality was a little weak. I feel ya
there are days I like to call "Foo days" where I just listen to Too fighter's songs all day no matter what I'm doing. its safe to say, those days are always better.
If I had a million years I couldn't create such pure rock and roll! F***king brilliant. Currently going through all things Foo for Wembley and this is just amazing!! This needs to be played and very loudly.
All the songs on this new album are great. Watching the Sonic Highways show and seeing the history and inspiration going into each song makes them that much more awesome, knowing what the song means and feeling what the people of the city felt, and what Dave felt when hearing their stories. Not to mention these guys go HAM with everything they do!
This album still gives me chills. Ppl take creating timeless bodies of work for granted nowadays. This one stays in my playlist until the wheels disintegrate & turn into a gaseous like substance 😂😂 ✊🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
There are very few, very few who can say they grew up with Foo in their blood. You'll know them. They might be fathers, mothers and sons and daughters. But there are those. Those who grew up with them. There go to. When thinking of music, most will think of the classics. The dedicated will go to the Foo. I've listened to them since I heard them on a Halloween when I was 12, and Never stopped. They helped shape me. Shape those. And is when given the question? "What you into?" Our hearts go immediately go to The Foo Fighters. I thank you Foo. You helped shape me Into who I am. I know I am not alone in this.
I grew up with my Dad listening to Nirvana and loved Dave on Marigold! On the first Day out my Dad gets the Foo Fighters Album and we sat the whole evening, blowing our minds and crying. My Dad‘s over 60 and still has the Foo Fighters on every Playlist! I‘m a Mom and all my children listen to them! Rock on!
What a strong track from them! Impressed the songs are still this good and kicking! Been following since 03 when I saw them live. 13 years old and mesmerized!
I teared when I saw and heard this music, remind me of my dad or family " is anybody there". It me really hard who is really thier. When your the black sheep of the family. Brothers and sisters have thier own life in I, by myself wishing someone to hear. Love foo fighters. Always make me realize that I'm not alone.
THANK YOU, I hate my soul eating job, every day its harder to make myself go,, your kick ass music keeps a little flame burning inside me.. keeps me going, would make it the soundtrac in my head if I could.. Thank you Dave and all for helping me fight the foo...
Black heart with a gaping wound, put back together by a troubled groove. Is now shattered into a million pieces. My thoughts and prayers go out to Taylor's wife, kids, band mates and of course my fellow Foo Fans. Gods added another percussionist to his All star band. Neil Peart, Keith Moon and now Taylor Hawkins. Long Live Rock, be it dead or alive!
THIS SONG, RIGHT HERE, IS THE REASON ROCK IS NOT FUCKN DEAD!!!! AND AS LONG AS GROHL KEEPS "GROWLING" AND THE RIFFS KEEP HOWLING, IT WILL NEVER DIE!!! KEEPN ROCK ALIVE MY BRUTHA!!!
I love how you can see each city's influence reflected in the songs so far. Watching the HBO Series is a must-do in order to fully appreciate the songs on this album.
This is my favorite song from the new album. I can really tell how much his days back in Scream in DC affected his overall style. Sounds great, and an excellent video as well.
This and What Did I Do/God As My Witness are my absolute favorites on from the new album! Amazing songs! Hope you play those two at Rock Im Park next year. ;) Can't wait to rock out to this! \m/
The docuseries was excellent and helped really bring to light the creative approach they took to the album. One of the reasons I think it is one of Foo Fighters best albums ever.
From the songs I heard till now, I already LOVE this new album. The new songs are on my playlist and at the brazilian Foo show in January I'll be singing all the songs, new and older ones. This music videos are definately helping me catch the lyrics hahaha But I have a question: is there gonna be any funny music videos for any new song? I hope so!
Oh my gosh... that is a tough question... I can't decide.... when I first listened to the album, something from nothing was one of the only ones I liked... after listening many more times, I love all of them...
Idk but i personally think something from nothing is better but that might just be because i listened to it before i knew this song existed and I've only recently listened to this song. The both masterpieces though!
It is absolutely crazy and horribly sad to think that we will never see Taylor and Dave together on stage again… They were like McCartney and Lennon, Jagger and Richards, so many of the great duos…
This Album was organized in a way I think should be rearranged for better affect. The first four tracks are the heavier tracks and the last 4 die down and make the album drag. They should have started with 2 slower and softer tracks. Put heavier songs like this in the middle, and then soft again in the end for closure. Kind of like a book plot. I love every second of the album though. Excuse my bad grammar and spelling. Its Early.
My absolute favorite from Sonic Highways! This song is so money! I Am a River is a close 2nd favorite. Sonic Highways is most definitely an arrival album for the Foos. It is rockin, well crafted, concise, cohesive, focused and as I already said it fucking ROCKS! I love it!
I like what they are trying to accomplish with this album, but I don't think it will be one of their best albums. It took me a while to get used to Something From Nothing and it is going to be the same with the fourth song they released, but I do like this and Congregation. The Foos are still my all time favorite band, but I don't think this album will appeal to a lot of their long time fans.
It's normal, tell me one band that makes only epic albums. Usually the better musics ares used on first albums, cause they have a lot of material to work at start, and this material makes a full album (or two) of awesome songs. What amazes me is that theres 3 songs on this album that could be on any other album and be a classic. It's like they sing these musics for 10 years, but are new.Long live to Foo Fighters!
We’ll miss you Taylor Hawkins. Thanks for the music and memories.. Love, All of us
i came to watch this video because i love how he plays on this song. 😢
Drumming on this is incredible
Foo fighters is like wine, it gets better and better through years!
+daniela carrera Glad to read this! Everyone is always nagging on this album, but I absolutely love it. The docu was great as well.
They're more like cheese. They are better earlier.
I haven't heard anybody nagging about this video.
It's pretty cool, and I'm talking about the songs and the way they made this album
+daniela carrera well said! hah :)
This is a fucking kick ass song!!!
+Ivan González agree 1000000%
A rock masterpiece. Kurt would be so proud.
Who's Kurt?
A Fire Inside you must have a sad sad life XD
Music Central I bet you're one of those 12 year old special snowflakes smh
Now I realize that Sonic Highways was truly a masterpiece
of course but wasting lights better
@bl608 yes that is right I still like sonic highways
wasting light is better but that doesn’t diminish how good sonic highways is, I think people loved wasting light so much they weren’t going to be satisfied with anything directly after, I even didn’t really like it when it came out besides the singles. But after a year or two listening it’s a very clear & natural trajectory from wasting light to sonic highways to then concrete and gold.
Some of us realized that a long time ago. But that stuff is subjective anyway. ✌️😄
Sonic Highways just has crazier lyrics imo. The music on both this and Wasting Light are amazing!
R.I.P Taylor Hawkins
This is one of my favorite songs from the Foo Fighter’s and the way Taylor played the drums were so unique. You’ll never be forgotten Taylor🙏✊
One of the most underrated Foos tracks. My favorite by far.
It’s fkn fire!!
I have never heard better sound of bass and drums than these!
I fucking agree !!!
yo si
Try The Who. Entwistle reinvented the bass and Moon was something supernatural on the drums.
Alex Grange la berisso has it
arre
Greatest underrated Drummer of all time! Taylor was a specail person. RIP! So glad I can still listen to him on the Albums.
Easily one of my 10 favourite FF songs. Still can't believe they didn't play it more often/ always
How does this not have 1,000,000,000 views? Wake up, America. Rock and Roll is alive and well.
truly one of the most underrated foo fighters songs
This album is so fucking good. The problem is that people was expecting something better than Wasting Light, but thats not going to happen because that album was perfect from beggining to the freaking end, its all the time up (like barney stinson said albums had to be). This album is not at the level of the previous one, but is so fucking good at what it is.

Foo figthers essence is there! Long live to Foo Fighters!
Fernando Cardoso What do new bands and their first album or tow have anything to do with this? This is the Foo's eighth studio album
Kevin Scarfpin maybe I was not clear. I tried to explain that its easier to make the first albums great albums, cause you have a lot of matterial to work. And it's hard to have an eight album with so great songs, that could be on the best albums.
Fernando Cardoso But Wasting Light was their seventh album... you are not making sense.
Fernando Cardoso I get what you're saying, although I don't quite agree with it, but even so, that point would be irrelevant as Wasting Light was their 7th album, and it was probably the best one yet
My favourite out of the 4 I've heard so far! Stuck in my head the past week! "...is there anybody there?"
I like this one and what did I do?/ God as my witness so far :-)
That part of the song really sticks in my head too.
Listen to I am a river, shame that is the last track. However for me that was a true foo experience, full of emotions and of course rock n roll :D
This album is insane, i hate it how people turn it down because it's not all original Foo Fighters style... They've nailed it, i'm so pumped for their Wembley gig in the summer!
How was it?
Man love to see Pat still rocking. Always adds that positive element to the equation.
man these lyrics really just inspired me... as a young musician (bass mainly) i have kinda been in a rut, i was getting bored of playing and found myself doing the same things again and again. but now i really feel like i should record a demo or just fucking start a band... who cares if it sucks. Im pretty sure dave sucked at first aswell, and im sure when he was young he too went to record a shitty demo and start a shitty band, and look where he is now.
you got his message!
Watch the previews one - Something from nothing...thats your song ;) Good luck
***** Foo Fighters did not suck when they first came out. Their first album is what got them signed onto a record label and is considered one of their greatest albums ever written. And that was just the beginning with Dave Grohl alone in a recording studio. Not only was that album popular then, but it still has an effect on music and musicians even today.
MastaDestroya00 have you heard the pocketwatch demo that he gaved away at first?? it's not that good so.. there's hope for everyone! XD
***** Yeah, I mean, technically they were good, but I could see why someone wouldn't like them at the time or think the sound quality was a little weak. I feel ya
there are days I like to call "Foo days" where I just listen to Too fighter's songs all day no matter what I'm doing. its safe to say, those days are always better.
smosh lover it's Foo day everyday for me
If I had a million years I couldn't create such pure rock and roll! F***king brilliant. Currently going through all things Foo for Wembley and this is just amazing!! This needs to be played and very loudly.

Watching the Sonic Highways show and seeing the history and inspiration going into each song makes them that much more awesome, knowing what the song means and feeling what the people of the city felt, and what Dave felt when hearing their stories. Not to mention these guys go HAM with everything they do!
Came back after almost 6 years and it's still good!
What a band. ❤️
This album still gives me chills. Ppl take creating timeless bodies of work for granted nowadays. This one stays in my playlist until the wheels disintegrate & turn into a gaseous like substance 😂😂 ✊🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
If they dropped this shit in the late 90s shit would be crazy
These guys continue to rock, big time
Out of all the amazing and creative videos they’ve done this is my fav. Perfect example how a video can make a song sound louder
There are very few, very few who can say they grew up with Foo in their blood. You'll know them. They might be fathers, mothers and sons and daughters. But there are those. Those who grew up with them. There go to. When thinking of music, most will think of the classics. The dedicated will go to the Foo. Our hearts go immediately go to The Foo Fighters.
I thank you Foo. You helped shape me Into who I am. I know I am not alone in this.
+Wilson Wade (xDeAdFoXx) Oh don't blame Dave and the guys for how you turned out. That's not fair.
Rock on!
Natalie Saadi they gave you your COLOR and your SHAPE as they did me
What a strong track from them! Impressed the songs are still this good and kicking! Been following since 03 when I saw them live. 13 years old and mesmerized!
best sonic highways song
+Hugo S M congregation, into the clear and something from nothing are amazing songs

I teared when I saw and heard this music, remind me of my dad or family " is anybody there". It me really hard who is really thier. When your the black sheep of the family. One of my favourite songs.Love the Drums
Defo my favourite from the album. Fucking love this song!
Best rock band out there today! Every song of the album is priceless work of art and history. Thank You!
P.M.A. = Positive Mental Attitude

I love how you can see each city's influence reflected in the songs so far. Watching the HBO Series is a must-do in order to fully appreciate the songs on this album.
Para mi el mejor video de sonic highways
This song deserves more views!!
Absolutely love this 😀 song
This song is absolutely awesome!!
Just listened the whole album... its a really good album... "Outside" is my current favorite!
I Am a River is awsome. Their best track IMO.
This is my favorite song from the new album. I can really tell how much his days back in Scream in DC affected his overall style. Sounds great, and an excellent video as well.
I sang this song into Google and google came back with "Hey man, There was a piece in the salmon"
+RIGman0497 That's what I heard the first time :)
The outsider? xD
at first I thought it said piece of the barrel
It also sounds like "Hey man! He wants a piece of the fennel"
Hey Man, he wants a piece of the femur.
My band Rising Force just recorded here at inner ear studios! It's crazy to think we stood in the same place where rock legends stood!
It is really sad to see that these guys are not getting the popularity that they used to get.:,(
Callum Steadman well they sold out their concert in vienna in less than 5 minutes :/
Are you kidding? They're still selling out stadiums 👍🏼
Isaac Punch
not much views on their videos though
Callum Steadman They don't care lol
Callum Steadman That means they are selling well, and people aren't all viewing for free, I feel bad now...
This song WILL go down as a classic for me
Amen 🙌
This and What Did I Do/God As My Witness are my absolute favorites on from the new album!
Amazing songs! Hope you play those two at Rock Im Park next year. ;) Can't wait to rock out to this! \m/
Me too!
Feast of a song. LOVE the chorus.
Killer Drumming, so much energy 🔥
Love this song ❤.. have yall watched the show of how these songs were made? Awesome
The docuseries was excellent and helped really bring to light the creative approach they took to the album. One of the reasons I think it is one of Foo Fighters best albums ever.
I really like Something From Nothing, this song is growing on me...but the last couple songs that they have previewed i cant get into.
IM IN LOVE WITH THIS BAND OMGGGGG
Good lord, I love this song. Like... obsessive amounts.
My fave of the RUclips-released songs so far off this album. A great salute.
I thought he said "HEY MAN, it was the feast and the famine" :c
Same here pale
Diego Alonso Ditto,it was about a year until one day i got the AND....love it.
I love this is probably my favorite FF song
From the songs I heard till now, I already LOVE this new album. The new songs are on my playlist and at the brazilian Foo show in January I'll be singing all the songs, new and older ones. This music videos are definately helping me catch the lyrics hahaha But I have a question: is there gonna be any funny music videos for any new song? I hope so!
brazilian tour will be so fucking awesome, can't wait for it!!!
Loli Jaime muy lejos del mmmmlknnnmm
Loli Jaime mmmkiikiihvvhhhhjjjjjkj
Best song so far from the album. Very classic foo fighters. 👍
Tough question; is this better then Something from Nothing or not? They're both so awesome!
Not better, but still awesome
I like it better personally. In the Clear is really growing on me too!
Billy Joseph this entire album is badass
Love the groove of this song!!
SO sick Dave is from VA!!! I never knew that.. I'm from VA. Wooooo
The ending to their songs is always so crisp!
What he said: "AMEN, it was the feast and the famine."
What I occasionally heard: "AMEN, there was a piece of a salmon!!!"
Its Early.
I remember when old Dave was playing for Nirvana and singing Marigold, now it's this. I am very pleased keep doing what you're doing Dave.
"Amen, it was a piece of the pebble"
I knew I'm not the only one who misheard the lyrics
or "eyy, man who wants a piece of the salmon?"
"Amen, it was a piece of 'novembah' "
I hear "it was a piece of the devil"
and many other things
but certainly not "feast and the famine"
Amen it was a fish in the barrel
Holy shit, I heard the exact same thing at first.
Hell yeah!!! This album sounds awesome!!! Thanks foo fighters for keeping on rockin!!!
2 Things: Dave's lookin like Clapton with those glasses! & I definitely thought the lyrics were "hey man it was the feast..etc." not "Amen" lol
aaaaamen it was the feast and famine!!! This album is the revolution! Very good the song!!!
HEY MAN - WAS THAT THE FISH OR THE SALMON?
It couldn't be more perfect and accurate!
haha
at least its original
Uhmm salmon is a fish ?
Animesh Pathak
r/woooosh
From what we heared now this is my absolute favorite!
This song has way too less views for how good it is
They are great as always!!!
Nada mas emocionante que esto, ver que una de tus bandas favoritas no perdiera su esencia.
Counting days too see u live here on Brazil!
I've watched this when it first aired, plus countless, COUNTLESS other times and today was the first time I realized Dave is wearing glasses. Huh.
Awesome!!!!!! Nos vemos el 18 de enero en ARGENTINA!!! The FOO ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!
that's fucking heavy rock n roll like a punch in the face !!! this song makes me wanna get in my car and drive really fast :)
My absolute favorite from Sonic Highways! This song is so money! I Am a River is a close 2nd favorite. Sonic Highways is most definitely an arrival album for the Foos. It is rockin, well crafted, concise, cohesive, focused and as I already said it fucking ROCKS! I love it!
Dave looks like a badass John Lennon when he's wearing glasses
+Liam T I'd say he looks like a badass Eric Clapton
STFU.
LOVE this Song, LOVE the Foo's. There Goes my Hero
Why this track have only 5kk views?!
que pasada de grupo los foo fighters son increíbles, gran calidad musical, muy cañeros y rebeldes! kurt está con ellos!!!
Well they got this fan I'm stoked
It's normal, tell me one band that makes only epic albums. Usually the better musics ares used on first albums, cause they have a lot of material to work at start, and this material makes a full album (or two) of awesome songs. What amazes me is that theres 3 songs on this album that could be on any other album and be a classic. It's like they sing these musics for 10 years, but are new.Long live to Foo Fighters!
I'm one long time fan who has been captivated by the songs and the stories behind them.
love this song
If you too thought it was "hey man it was the feast and the famine" and are now disappointed bc it's amen...
how does this song still not have that many views. it's awesome
I KNEW RDGLDGRN WOULD BE IN THIS SONG!!!!
They are great. I think I'm the only person in montreal who knows them haha,
They're so awesome!
those three person behind, yes rdgldgrn. and those songs they've created with dave on drums was great, great sound.
I love this song! I love the album so fricking much😁😁
Melhor bandaaaaaa, provavelmente ninguém vai entender, mas tudo bem
Eu entendo :(
Crawling out from under my rock! Where have I been, that I didn't know how GREAT foo is?
