Gimme some rope, I'm comin' loose
    I'm hangin' on you
Gimme some rope, I'm comin' loose
    I'm pullin' for you now
Give me some rope, I'm comin'
Outta my head, into the clear
When you go, I come loose

I like how the Foo Fighters build up musical tension and then release it. It is so damn satisfying to listen to. With many of their songs I feel like I am taking my last breath, and then BOOM! I can fill my lungs again (musically speaking). Do I make sense or am I nuts?

Spot on. It's a songwriting 'trick' to suspend the 1 beat and come in on the 2. Our brains love it because like humour, it creates and expectation that's 'unexpectedly' resolved. All by design and non the worse for it; best of all it's used just enough and not too much. Like you, I absolutely love it.

Sonically, this song is unrivaled, not just in the Foo Fighters’ catalog, but in all of modern rock. I practically jump out of my seat when I hear those angular guitars and off-beat rhythms. There’s nothing like this elsewhere in rock. 🎸

This is my favorite Foo Fighters song. I love how f*cking tight Taylor and Nate are. I love how 3 crunchy guitars work so well together. I love how Taylor goes all Neil Peart on the ride cymbal during the chorus. I love that insane breakdown before the guitar solo and I love the solo itself. It's just a kickass rock song.

It's been over 10 years since I listen to this song almost in a daily basis. Taylor without a doubt is one of the best drummers of the last 30 years and this song proves it! It has tons of Groove! Punch! Musicality! Taste! there are tons of small details and ghost notes all over the track! And off course Neil Peart's tribute using YYZ ride pattern. A Real treasure for us fans of Taylor and drumming.

We need rock to come back on the hit stations, well luckily, I only listen to the rock stations so I don't have to hear the Iggy whats her name and selena gomez garbage.
