- In this video, I talk to Dr. Kalpana Ghimire Bair who matched into Family Medicine Residency in the year 2021. She matched after 7+ years from her graduation from medical school. She shares how she continued on with her USMLE journey after getting a "just pass" score in Step 1 to matching into Family Medicine. Her story is what I share in this video.
This video is a part of my USMLE series where I talk about all things about the United States Medical Licensing Examination. In further episodes I will invite other practicing physicians from other specialties as well. Please feel free to put your thoughts down in the comments section and you can also connect with me on Instagram @anrgh.

Sir what effect does ECFMG 2024 accreditation will have on Nepal Colleges? I checked COMS, Bharatpur comes under WDOMS list with the sponsor note but when I checked the lists for ECFMG & WFME, Nepal wasn’t mentioned. For someone who wants to give the first step in 2025 will I be eligible? Please help me clear my confusion! 🙏

I am an IMG graduated in 2020 completed my compulsory inter year of training in 2021. Please guide me which is better for me as I have a very short time for passing Step 1 and Step 2 CK, I want to apply for General Surgery Preliminary position this year,
1, Should I Pass step 1 and send application to programs without step 2 CK score.
2, Should I first I take step 2 CK and send application to programs without passing step 1.
3, Should I pass step 1 and step 2 CK and then apply to programs in December 2022 after passing both step ?
Hello. Before answering all your questions, I have a few from my side too.
1. Why are you going for Prelim surgery and not Categorical?
2. What is your goal with Surgery Prelim?
3. Are you fully aware of what a prelim position is and how the match works for next year?
4. Do you require visa or not?
5. Have you already started preparing for steps or not?

4, Yes I need visa.
5, Not properly just reviewing my medical college notes.
