Bestie update: I figured that after a while of wearing the strap will stretch out. Maybe try 16 rows for the strap for a more optimal length 🥰
16 rows for the part you did 36 ?
@@enzosavary6718 i think he means squares haha
If i use 3 colors will it still be checkered? I wanna make one for my cousin and she want 3 colors
he means 16 squares which is 32 rows
@@oriiqyou can make a checkered pattern with three colors, just google 3 color checkered pattern to see how you should arrange the colors, but if you’re using 3 colors you could also make it a gingham pattern which is pretty similar
For a bigger bag:
Chain up 52
8 rows for the bottom of dc
20 rows for the body
And handstrap the same ❤️
i love you sm TT
hello henri ! what are the measurements of the "bigger bag"?
Thank you
well… i chained up 62… but i’m nearly finished with the sides and it’s not taken me much time so yay
@@rhiannewood9161 hi, I hope I’m not bothering! I was wondering what you can fit in the bigger bag? I was hoping to fit a 2” binder and a laptop and some other bare necessities but I highly doubt it’ll all fit, but I’d love to know!
hey I just finished making this bag and I just wanted to say thank you for giving me the measurements for my very first crochet project !! It turned out great and I’m so happy with it so thank youuu
How long did it take u???
about 2 and a half days!
@@eevierussell how many hours you take
I just finished this bag (I made it in green and white) and this was so easy to follow. The end result was amazing too! Thanks so much for this great tutorial :)
LOVEEEE the Tutorial but idk if it’s just me but I was a little confused because the video was from a overhead Perspektive and I turned my phone to see the video from your perspective so it was easier to understand. If you want maybe you could edit the Next Tutorial to be from your perspective. But otherwise it was so great explained and so aesthetic love your videos bestiiee ✨✨✨
Thanks for your feedback yess I will do that 😍
I agree!

Always look forward to your videos...almost feels like hanging out with a friend :) thanks for sharing this tutorial, been wanting to make a bag like this for a while!
Agree with you 🦋✨
Yes besties forever 🤞🏼
same opinion as you
This was my first project ever/my first time crocheting in nov 2021 and am now in love with it and going strong! 🫶🏾
Omg u are full of this energy I can't explain 🥺
You genius son I like your patience in teaching even the new crotchety can be able to follow you son God bless
Thanks to you I decided to start this kind of things. And I'm soooooo excited rn. I can't wait for my yarns to come.
That looks kinda hard and tricky but I definitely wanna try and will watch the video a lot of times to understand how to do it and succeed haha
I made the bag first without the checkered pattern (so just one solid color) and that really helped me understand how everything works :)
The tip about doing a stitch in the big holes and in the knots was a very important key for that row! Thanks
i don't understand this step, could you please explain!?
@@lily-bc8xi honestly just go into anywhere your needle fits into as long as they’re four posts and it looks fine it’s fine😅
@@mythicallegendxoxo2715 EXACTLY!!!!! I needed someone to tell me that 😔🤍
Realmente hermoso el chaleco gracias por el tutorial Henry ❤❤
Henri, you are the best! ❤️🥺
yesss! i was just wanting to make this bag so perfect timing😅😅
Henri, this is what i always needed! A detailed beginner tutorial! I'm looking forward to doing this.
One question though: Can I also use other yarn that my mother has at home? What should I look out for?
Love this, so excited to try this!!
It‘s needs to be sturdy and strong since you wanna put weight into the bag. Otherwise it stretches down to the back of your knee 😂
obsessed with this ❤✨
Hi Henri! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've just finished one bag and now I'm doing another just bigger and with different color combination. I love it so much
😍😍😍😍
@@HenriPurnell Btw. I gave the smaller bag, that is already finished, to my lil sister and she loves it SO much. So thanks, once again ❤
thank you for the tutorial henri, i will start right away!!! it's gonna be my first project, i'm super excited for the results 🤩🤩🤩
Ich hab sooo Bock das in den Sommerferien auszuprobieren, ich hoffe ich hab Zeit😌
His acccent makes the entire vid 10x better
i LOVED this tutorial and i love my new bag🤩!! i highly recommend this tutorial xx
Its sooooo important to make sure the other bit of wool is with the other bit. The whole time.
I love the results I will try to make it and come here to update
I’m so excited that you’re showing your fans how to make this bag. I can’t wait to start. May I just say one thing, your video is great but you’re facing the wrong way, so it’s very hard to see you’re stitches. You’re facing away from us not towards us. Love ya ❤ love all your makings.!!!!
omgg i LOVE the bag !!!!!
I finished this bag today and its so cute! also it was so quick and easy which we love :)
How long did it take ?
@@ceyda7156 I worked on it for about 1-2 hours for four days so all in all it would be about 7-8 hours in total which is a pretty short project in my opinion, if you worked really hard at it you could probably finish it in a day.
@@orionxox9425 thank you so much!
I luvvvvvvv so exited to do my baby tote bag
I loveeeeee watching your videos, they're so good even though I don't do crotchet, your voice is so soothing 😍
I watch you first time. You seem friendly and sweet to me. you were followed
Your hair is niceee 💛💛
I am just chrocheting this bag, and I loveee the tutorial!!!
how much yarn did you need? i´m currently online shopping for yarn because i dont have much anymore..but how much do i need for this bag? like how much did u use?
@@dfdfdfdf4512 I used a thinner yarn, so I chrocheted instead of 4 stitches 8 for one square, with this pattern I needed 3 yarns from one colour and for the other colour also 3, but when you use a thicker yarn, you maybe only need 1 or two of each colour!! (I hope that helps)
@@kathi1649 okay thank u
I just realized that smiley in your 'intro' reminds me of that typical louis tomlinson smiley haha ◟̽◞̽
Yesss, thought the same thing! ^^
Terminé mi bello bolso. Gracias 😉
Ahhh ich hab so lange drauf gewartet, werde es aufjedenfall ausprobieren :))
This is the 2nd day I have learned to crochet, and dumb me thought I could mka ethis so now here I am with some yarn all tangled, crocheting for hours and crying while doing this
You could try with only one colour
But keep it going I'm sure you'll be able to do it ❤️ (and after 2 years crocheting I still end up with everything tangled and crying)
LOOOVE this bag and great tutorial!! Question though as I didn’t quite pick it up: when you’re crocheting the sides of the bag, do you do the slip stitch and chain up two after every row? Going to try to make this myself!💙🤍
Yes
I also listen your songs that's so good 💖
So clever crochet
Hi, Henri.. I am from Indonesia...I really like your knitting work, very nice and amazing
Omg I follow uou on Pinterest and I absolutely love your thingssss

Im motivated to learn from you making that bag.cute same as u
This is my first first bag and accessory/clothing item I’ve made and I love it so much
Amazing bag just made it
thanks i will try my best
puntito para recordar hacerla uwu .
I love you when you said looking trendy cool as fuck
How much yarn do you need? 💕
I wanted to make that, but I think your videos will be easier to learn if you shoot them from your position. this is like upside down im so sorry to say this🙏🏻 and thankyou Henri ❤️
Please read my comment😁
I love it!
Si i tutorial sei bravissimo
henriiii my blue yarn keeps getting stuck in the first double crochet like its not level with the white yarn
hey henri. great tutorial, rlly loved it. I have a question about the main body of the bag. After i finish one round in the body do I chain up two or not, cause i didnt understand from the tutorial
hi!!! are we supposed to always skip one loop when doing the double crochet? or just with that first double crochet?
Only on the first
Your accent is so cute 💫💫💫
In the beginning i chained 42, but doing 4 double crochets for each colour, at the end of my last square i had 2 extra chains left? I dont know what I did wrong cause if i finish all of the 42 chains my last square will have 6 double crochets instead of 4
Have you done your first double crochet into the 3 while like skipping the first to wholes. Cuz skipping the first two wholes will build your first post of your first square
@@HenriPurnell if i do it on the thirds I’d still have one more extra chain at the end tho
Same thing happened to me, I did 42 chains, skipped 2 and started the dc at the third one but there’s one chain left, I don’t know what to do
Love this tutorial! Will just using one color work to make the shape of the bag? I love the shape but I don’t want it to be checkered. Just one solid color. Will it make a difference?
That works just fine with one color too :)
Que lindos trabalhos....SUCESSO E SAÚDE
Thanks 💙
Absolutely love this! When’s the bucket hat tutorial dropping👀
How much yarn of each colour is needed
Ohhhh Dioooosss no puedo creeerlooo, subtítulos en españoooool, so niceeeee❤️❤️❤️❤️
Si hay alguna forma de agregarlos yo lo traduzco pero no sé si se puede :(
A similar idea I had to make this bag was to use the Tunisian crochet method which is a cross between crochet and knitting.
Very nice... love it...
Hi Henri, love this bag, do you have the measurements of each part of the bag. It would really help me since I don't have the type yarn that you use.
Tysmmm
This angle is very u helpful
Unhelpful
but i like ur accent and attitude
I like the maker, more video please....thank you
thank you!!
When doing hand strap after pulling both strings, how many times do you chain with single colour after that
I have a question, when doing the sides do you still crochet into back loops only
?
hey there, loved this tutorial, but i have no crocheting experience at all, is there something just like this, but no pattern and just a simple bag? thanks so much if u could help! :)
Thank u >>✨
I choose this video because it's one continuous piece . I didn't realise I had to crochet the sides (holes and knots part ) .
hello!!! i thought the checkered one is a bit hard for me so i wanted to make it just a plain colour! do i do the same thing for that or do i have to do it differently??
You do the same thing then :)
Please how did you learn crocheting? Because im an absolute beginner 😖
love it
love this tutorial!! how many grams of yarn was used for the whole bag?
i used about 120g of both of the yarns if that helps :)
@@benjaminvazirian9430 did you make the smaller bag or the bigger bag ?
@@benjaminvazirian9430 for the small or big bag??
@@aurorasyla9351 the big one :)
Sr Im a vietnamese can u reply me about the material, like what type of wool is it, So I can buy the it :(. I rly like the color hic
do you always skip a chain when youre doing the double crochets? or just for the first one?
thank you for the video
It’s just the first one
Hi I didn’t understand how you made the sides, how are they attached to the rest of the bag?
how much yarn did you need? 200g? looking forward to try this one!! 🥰
215g
Can I make this bag with only one yarn?
hi, do you/ did he skipt a loop at the bottom(the compl. bag)? mine gets very tight
Thank you ❤️
hey henri! so i was crocheting this bag and got really confused on when to do the sides can you please help me out?
Love 💝
When doing the body of the bag, do you chain twice every time you start a new row ?
Yes
Hi!! So, I'm from Argentina, my english sometimes works and sometimes no, and this is one of those times sooo I need help! I don't get it well if I have to do the slip stitch each time I finished 1 row or if I have to do it in every corner... thank you so much!!! Have a nice day 🫰🏻
i think so
When I’m crocheting the sides of the bag for the height? Do I still double crochet in the back loops or I just double crochet normally
normally, only first row in the back stiches
How did you manage to get the strap to curl itself inwards while crocheting? Mine doesn’t do that and I’ve come too far to redo it but I’m still very happy with the results!!
It just happens naturally :)
What should I do with the tiny bit of blue that I have when I add the blue color for the first time?? Tie it??
Yesss
I love it 😍
HI! love the bag! What exactly are the names of the both colours you used? Is the white one a pure white? thx!
how much yarn did u use? or how much did ur bag weigh in the end?
I‘ve order one ball of each color of 200g and that was enough
It weighs about 200g
@@HenriPurnell thank you so much!!!
hi henri! i really enjoyed your tutorial, i was just wondering if u had an idea ab what i could do to clasp my bag. mine hangs open and i don’t want anything falling out
Maybe add some Velcro to close it. Or a button and crochet a little loop on the other side to close it?
Okay, maybe this is a stupid question but does the slipknot count as a chain up or is it slipknot and then 42 chain ups? It's may first time crocheting something with a tutorial and not just something random I made up so I'm feeling kinda lost lol :/
