Jenna I just discovered you during an 8 week illness where I was mostly bed bound. I have a condition where that happens sometimes. I binged your relaxing videos and you inspired me to learn crochet. Because of you I was able to find a calming hobby I could do from the couch or bed that made me feel proud. Thank you so much 💚
This turned out great, Jenna. And I am not singing Jingle Bells with that color combo at all! Well done! Are you going to line it? That would be a good tutorial if you’re so inclined.
I actually liked the unintentional scalloped edge, it looked like a flower, like a little tulip or something :) I am definitely making this myself! Too adorable!
@@Sans-fh6tq I rlly only asked that question bc Jenna put a picture of the blue and white 🧿 looking bag but she made a completely different looking bag, she also titles the video "diy granny square bag" as if it's gonna be a tutorial, but rlly it's just a VLOG while Jenna is crocheting. there's no point in using other ppls work in her thumbnail AND NOT CREDITING THE ACTUAL CREATORS OF THE BAGS SHE USED IN HER THUMBNAIL !!!

Jenna do you know what you are doing??? You are bringing back needle crafts. Woo Hoooo! I looj forward to watching you learn and become a better knitter, crocheter, seamstress. Than me. And i have been doing those crafts for about 45 years now. I am 58 years old. Started crocheting at age 6 knitting 8 and sewing in middle school. Im glad to see that young people are crafting again. I did these crafts pretty much alone. Your enthusiasm is boundless. I show all my friends your videos and you are opening their eyes... i couldnt do it by myself. But you sure can!!! I look forward to all your new projects. You are a ray of sunshine🌅👨⚕️ You are Awesome!!❤
I agree. You need some pockets on it which could be just another granny square. If it were my bag I would put a pocket on one side and a pocket on the other side and then I would do the same to the inside so I got a total of four pockets for all of the extras that we carry around. Very cool.
This is so cool, and a matching top would be so cute! Although I think it might be worth sewing a lining out of some scrap fabric for your bag, last thing you want is a hook or a needle falling through one of the holes without you noticing!
I started crocheting just 2 weeks ago because of your channel and I absolutely LOVE it! Thanks for making all this fun stuff, especially this bag, wanted to try to make one like this!
highly recommend the cotton creme yarn!! its so soft and breathable great for summer tops (i actually was inspired to make a granny square top bc of you and i used this yarn!)
@artfromz1698 granny square I would recommend this youtuber I just recently learned how too do granny square and I'm determined to do a bag and do granny square stuff there so easy
I'm sure someone has said this, but you can block the squares before you put them together to get that curve out of them. I'd just do it with a steam iron. It's so cute and the curves don't show in the end. I love that you can make them and put them together into something so cute and useful. Good work, Jenna
It looks beautiful Jenna! I don't think it's too Christmassy, and I love the vintage colors you picked! Also, we don't know for sure what dinosaurs did, but scientists predict their behaviors based on their features in the fossil record, the way those fossils were arranged in relation to other fossils, and how those features compare to modern animals :~) For example, the first dinosaurs you showed in your clip in this video are neck fighting like modern giraffes do to compete for mates! We don't know for sure if they did that back then, but since they were talllllllll animals that needed lots of muscles to lift their necks up, they might have used them as a fighting tool like giraffes do today :~D And the second dinosaurs you showed were all moving together in a herd because we've found big groups of fossils of those animals in the same place, sometimes even with fossilized eggs and nests!
PRO TIP to granny square crocheters: Crochet the individual rounds in batches, as in, crochet the first round of each granny square you want to complete, then crochet the second round on all of those squares, and so on. It's a much faster process because you can more easily memorize the rounds, and it's really fun to see the progress come together a little more quickly. It's also EXTRA satisfying to complete that last round on each square, bam, you suddenly whip up one square after the other ❤️❤️❤️
when you said "it´s like supposed to be the best crochet book ever" i just knew that it was Rose Svanes book. I myself is Danish, and me and my mom love her book, she´s so talented! It would be so cool if you made a video where you follow one of her patterns!
Pernile of course! But there is an important difference with some UK vs USA terms (UK dc = USA sc, for example). So, is the Danish dc the same as a UK dc or a US dc? That is my question.
Hey Jenna 6:00 Did you know that you can just crochet over the string left behind from the last row, by placing it along the edge? I don't have ends to sew in, since i do it this way, some times i alternate rows, if i have two threads, or directions, so one tail is going left and one is going right. Either way! Little tip for you, so you don't have as many ends to sew in! You can also do this when knitting! Just wrap the end, around the thread you are knitting with, for each stitch, so that it lays on the backside of the garment. I hope this helps! Love your channel! Literally watched every video on binge, endlessly inspired by you! I'm a three time heart surgery survivor and art has been a huge help for me.
I know you made this bag a year ago, BUT here I am posting a comment in the hopes that you'll see this tip for making granny squares go faster: When I'm making multiple squares with several color changes, I assembly line them. For instance, if I were making the squares you used for this bag, I would do all the white centers, then all of the golden/brownish color, then all the red, etc. I feel like it makes them go faster because I'm not changing colors every five minutes. And yes, I weave in the ends as I go. LOVE your energy. I'm so glad I discovered your channel because you're a joy to watch and an inspiration for this old crochet veteran. edit: LOL yeah, ok, so I should have watched the entire video before I posted that tip :)

I made a couple of crochet bags and used fabric bags for liners. I sewed the crochet straps onto the fabric straps so they wouldn’t stretch. I just used the blank ones in the craft section of most craft stores. It worked out great.
It looks so great! I think what will ultimately make the perfect square is if you block them even before you do the border, I had the same with my blanket and it keeps pulling crooked despite the border being added.
I‘ve never ordered something faster in my life than rose svanes crocheting book after you discovered the translating thing with the camera 😭😭😭😭 even if one day this will be realeased in english I just need it right now
the capri cotton is soooo good they don't sell it anymore and it is amazing it crochets like butter i made part of a sweater out of that exact purple color and it was heavenly

You're very talented and I admire your ability to work out how to do the things that you do! 💡🤔
Every season is crochet season girl
Your happy energy makes me happy too! Also the crochet bag looks so lovely
I know im 10 months late, but what was funny to me was that is was thinking the book must be a Danish one, and then it was 😂😂 I love Rose Svane, she makes so cute stuff
CHRISTMAS IN JULY YO!!!! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! You are both extremely fun and relatable!!!! And quite a good crochet artist!!! Your videos are soooo fun to watch!!! I've become quite obsessed watching your content when I need to wind down and relax, and want something fun to watch!!
Im going to copy this bag but with patchwork squares. Love it.thank you.
Omg, so fun, when you said you bought a beautiful book about crocheting but it wasn’t in english, I immediately knew which one it was. I’ve bought it too, and it’s in my mother tongue, danish 😆 I’m pretty sure there’s a English version out there tho 😅 Rose Svane makes the coolest pieces and has actually been the originator of a couple of insta crochet trends 😍 (had to stop the vid and comment right away)
This was the most relaxing video ever.
THAT BOOK IS IN MY LANGUAGE!!! AAAAAAH
I really like that crochet bag OMG niceeee
I'm actually watching your video while crosheting ...way better than documentaries if you asked me
