Absolutely true. They are great game players. Thats why they reduce space inside to sell sequoia. AWD game is same like you said. Now when youtubers try to show their awd in capability then they tie up with Subaru to make it better. 2021 highlander is little bit more capable.
but who is going off road in a highlander though? my wife has an 18' highlander xle and i have an 18' 4runner trd off road which we can go exploring in. even if i didn't have a 4runner, i never thought of off roading my wifes highlander and hers is AWD.

The 2nd gen Highlanders are a little bit better than the 3rd gen (one used in this video) they’re a constant 50/50 split power front rear, not a sort of slip and grip
I completely agree with you. The same tires will add objectivity. But since I do not have a car tire factory, we work with what we have. At the moment, we are checking that the tire pressure corresponds to the factory values (for each car individually).

I have the 2012 santa fé 3.5, and I can say it for sure that my car never did let me down, I don't have snow here in Brasil, but I do have rain, dirt roads, mud, drizzly, sand, etc, I've being through it all, and even though I'm not more than an average off road driver (at best) , I still managed to never get stuck.

From 2019 onwards, there was a *big upgrade of S-AWC* (Super-AllWheelControl) with Mitsubishi. Nothing could stop me yet :) Outlander PHEV 2020 • 3cm spacer lift • bigger 225/75r16 Bridgestone Dueler 001 A/T tyres. • lift in total: 5cm
The Santa Fe did quite well, I think that the 2.2 CRDI would have been better for this. I'm disappointed in the Captiva, it might be old but the ESP seems too weak, and I don't think that if it had a diesel engine it would have fared any better. The Pilot has too much wheelspin but its age is surely playing against it and the tires seemed to have poor grip. The Kodiac seems to have the best traction control though it's a bit aggressive and that could lead to damage. I'm looking forward to your next video and a rematch on dry ground!!
Unfortunately, it takes couple weeks to make a video. So that I upload video once per month. But, perhaps, the team would be bigger and I will be able to do it more often.
@@SUVBattle yes I know, it takes hell lot of time....Please include Ford Explorer, Expedition, VW Terramont, Tiguan, Volvo, Audi Q7, Pilot etc to see how Haldex AWD works in such tricky terrain. Ford too has best AWD. I have driven VW Terramont @140 km/h in snow on highway & it feels rock solid stable! Japanese have horrible AWD except Subaru & Honda. Please include new suv as the old awd clutch may undergo wear or new revisions or versions is better like Haldex gen 5 is better than old one.

Naks, what an eye opener from these video! I'm from tropical country, so I don't worry much about the specific usage of tires until now. But since this video was taken during winter, so the tires used must be for icy roads. And judging the video, from zero to 12:39, Korean made cars have it conquered easily, but Japanese made ones, encountered difficulties in moving on the obstacles.
And this Ford Explorer, at 17:58, hardly made out of the obstacle, well, it's very sad. But one thing I knew, these compact SUV, is being recalled according to a Chief Mechanic I was talking, while watching the Explorer towed by another vehicle to the dealer's own shop.

Third time watching this channel - and for the third time - very well done. Impressive stuff from the Skoda, in spite of using the inferior haldex-based part time 4WD.
Great videos, so before buying skoda Kodiaq In the uk....We test drive many versions from1.4 to 1.5 2.0 150bhp front wheel drive petrol and diesel only too and 4 wheel drive. 7 seats. Auto We bought 1.5 petrol front wheeldrive to go off road and farm land Halloween pumpkin picking. Found it extremely Exciting and easy to drive in bad conditions with 7 people inside and snow conditions foot high snow with winter tyres.... So you don't really need 4 wheel drive we notice. 2 years now and still very comfortable quick car.
That Hyundai Santa Fe looks like the 2.0 T model not the 2.4 NA mentioned in th video. I thought those wheels only came on the turbo model. I have a 2020 Santa Fe 2.0 T model and love it so far.
Features and specification vary from country. I believe these are Kazakhstan delivered vehicles and would differ in specification depending on where you're from.
I have Chevy Captiva and I'm a quite dissapointed of the traction system that saw in this video 😟, but with a little more acceleration the car have good performances off road. I've tested it already and did well. 😁
I'm genuinely surprised by the Santa Fe's performance especially from the lower spec engine. It's also available with a more powerful 2.0T, though I'm not sure if it was available for your market.
These guys shouldn’t mess around with this slow and steady stuff and just SEND IT!!! My 2008 highlander woulda been just fine with a 10-15mph start on all season tires.
The Outlander PHEV (Plug-In-Hybrid) also has an electronic center locking differential, due to using a dual motor setup. They have a button on the center console for that. The computer just needs to match the RPM of both the front and rear electric motors to behave like a mechanical locking diff would. (At least on the 2016 model that my parents drive - I haven't come across the newer versions yet)

Marked difference between Mitsubishi auto and CVT trans of the 2.4. Also the Sante Fe and Tucson being from the same stable the Sante Fe is far superior. Similarly the Highlander and Landcruiser. Great video. Thanks

I wish I could find cars of the same (latest) year. But it's not easy, especially, when there is no dealership in my country or new cars come quite late in comparison with the rest of the world. So we work with what we have.

That's the point. Almost anything could make it through with enough speed. It takes more capability to go slowly. Fast is easy.

@@SUVBattle something in the full size luxury segment perhaps, maybe the Lincoln navigator, Range rover vogue, cadillac escalade, gmc yukon, chevy Tahoe, Ford expedition, etc. Or maybe luxury midsized crossovers such as lincoln Nautilus, lexus Rx, Mercedes glc, etc.

And suggest to do test not only on 4wd mode but also test for stabilty, handling, noise, vibration & harsness while in high speed or full load passenger at mountain road

2008 honda pilot? Could you not have found a newer generation? There have been 2 since then.
I wish I could find cars of the same (latest) year. But it's not easy, especially, when there is no dealership in my country or new cars come quite late in comparison with the rest of the world. So we work with what we have.
